Teenaged Rom-Com

BOYS OVER FLOWERS (2009) is a now classic (and iconic) teenaged romantic comedy / Kdrama.

It is my personal opinion that this drama was one of the drama's that caused Kdramas to become so popular and more mainstream in the West. This drama is one of the few that started the craze.

While I appreciate it now, there are a few times I found things to be cringy or controversial. Nevertheless, "Boys Over Flowers" is a near iconic rom com in the realm of dramaland.

"Geum Jan Di gets a scholarship to the elite Shin Hwa High School. She is picked on by Gu Jun Pyo, one of the richest and most popular students, but soon Jun Pyo finds himself attracted to her."

Overall, this was one of the earliest Kdramas I've watched. It will always be somewhat special to me.

A Quirky Fantasy

HOTEL DEL LUNA (2019) is a really fun and quirky Kdrama. The cast are all very colorful and interesting, the acting is good as well. Sometimes the story is a bit odd but usually pretty good overall. Very interesting storyline.

"When he's invited to manage a hotel for dead souls, an elite hotelier gets to know the establishment's ancient owner and her strange world."

Overall, "Hotel Del Luna" is a very quirky and memorable Kdrama about a mysterious and mystical Hotel by the same name. The show has a little bit of everything in it including drama, fantasy, comedy, romance, mystery, horror and action. The vibe is very original and very memorable.

An Interesting Rom-Com

STRONG WOMAN DO BONG SOON (2017) is a sweet Korean drama with silly yet thoughtful portrayals of gender and gender roles. While it is a romantic comedy, it certainly has its tender and sad moments as well.

"Do Bong-soon is a woman born with superhuman strength that comes from the long line of women possessing it. When Ahn Min Hyuk, the CEO of ainsoft, a gaming company witnesses her strength he hires her as his personal bodyguard."

Overall, this was a cute drama. It was funny and sweet, and at times touching. Recommended for fans of romantic kdramas and outrageous comedic situations. Cute and funny!

O roteiro não é empolgante, poucos personagens gostáveis e muitos personagens com caráter duvidoso. É um drama com excesso de personagens calhordas, o romance é morno e a química entre os protagonistas é questionável. Algumas cenas de lutas são boas, mas as várias cenas de mortes ao longo do drama, seja de personagens gostáveis ou dos detestáveis, não causam grande emoção. Os 40 capítulos desse drama foram longos e arrastados, não ganhou ritmo nem mesmo no final, só ficou uma finalização apressada e sem graça. Alguns erros no roteiro são risíveis (como a morte do príncipe Bai, somente a serva dele e Ji Ying Ying deram jeito no corpo e fizeram uma tábua memorial? Como que um príncipe teria um funeral tão rápido? Talvez a pressa para editar a finalização atrapalhou a cena), o mesmo acontece em algumas cenas (como a chegada na ponte, aquela que estava destruída quando eles foram para Nanzhao), a montagem não foi muito cuidadosa, pois o que seria uma linda cena de reencontro entre o casal, simplesmente não ocorreu.
Costumo gostar muito da atuação da Seven Tan, mas, nesse drama, a atuação dela não comprometeu, porém não foi nada de excepcional. No geral as atuações não foram ruins, mas nenhuma que surpreenda.
Para um drama onde o brocado era o foco principal, o figurino deixou a desejar.
A trilha sonora é agradabilíssima, as canções de Mao Bu Yi e Liu Yu Ning são contagiantes e permanecem na memória.

Killer Monsters

SWEET HOME (2020-2024) is an original spin of the traditional zombie horror story, (based on the popular Manwa) but here we have unpredictable and bizarre creatures rather than hordes of the same-old same-old zombies.

This series isn't perfect but the characters are all memorable and unique, the atmosphere of the building is very intense and the survival aspect are very well portrayed.

"Hyun, a loner high school student who lost his entire family in a terrible accident, is forced to leave his home and has to face a new reality where monsters are trying to wipe out all of humanity. Now he must fight against all odds to try and race against the clock to save what is left of the human race before it's too late."

"Sweet Home" is a really cool series especially if you are a fan of dark and gorey Kdrama's, horror shows and monster fighting genres. Definitely an exciting watch! Lots of action, drama and thrilling moments!

Sem noção. Parei no ep 3 de tanta raiva

Que dorama ridículo. Não consegui terminar nem o terceiro capítulo. O laboratório explode e ninguém pergunta se a menina está bem. Já saem botando a culpa nela. Eles falam que dá pra ver na câmera que ela estava sozinha, mas não dá pra ver se o incêndio foi culpa dela ou não??? E depois os fofoqueiros dizem que o menino estava namorando ela e o professor diz que ele estava lá dentro tbm e deve assumir a culpa pelo incêndio junto com ela. Pera aí, mas não dava pra ver que ela estava SOZINHA lá dentro? Não viram pela câmera que ele só entrou depois pra salvar quem estivesse lá?
Que história mais sem pé nem cabeça. Os asiáticos inventam cada barbaridade. Só porque aquele bando de idiotas saiu falando que eles tiram algo já deduziram que o menino tava lá dentro e a culpa e dele também.
E outra, que muleque filho da put@. Hackeou o computador dela, fez ela perder o trabalho, só faz a menina se fuder e a tonta nem tenta falar com ele. E aquele professor nojento não escuta a explicação, já sai atacando. Se bem que asiático não se explica de nada, né? Eles só falam que não foi eles e não justificam. Que odioooo.

Trust the process

Did it start of a little slow? yeah but after finishing it up and i have no regrets watching this serie. The actors was amazing and the main relationship was so beautifully done. I would really recommend this to anyone that just want a good kdrama but without the "chaos" many of the romcom comes with. I just loved it - i cant express much more then that.
I think more people should give this serie a chance - it takes a little time but when you get there, it's sooooooo beautifully made! Was the extra actors instresting? maybe not, i could have done some scenes without them but then mainpeople made it fine.

clichê gostoso de ver

Tentei assisti duas vezes esse drama e finalmente consegui finalizar. Teria amado muito esse drama se ele tivesse seguido talvez um outro caminho de roteiro. Talvez focando nos bombeiros, ou nos traumas. Mas ficou rodando pelo lado empresarial e ficou bem enjoado. Nem prestava atenção nessas partes. O casal secundário beem chato, o que levou o drama foi a quimica dos atores e seu romance cliche bem gostoso. Mas atuação da atriz tbm não foi la essas coisas.
No geral é um drama bem mediano, mas que num momento em que não tava querendo ver nada e nem tava a fim de pensar, agradou bem

A Fresh and Enjoyable Watch: "Two Worlds" Delivers More Than Expected

I see a lot of people commenting on the main leads’ acting skills. This was my first time seeing them, and honestly, they did a pretty good job. Some reviews even suggest that the whole series was just fan service with no plot, but I truly enjoyed the storyline. While there was room for improvement, it wasn’t boring at all—it felt new and fun.

Nat, in particular, delivered an impressive performance in this show. I can’t speak for his acting in other series, but I was genuinely shocked by how well he portrayed complex emotions. For instance, the scene where his character goes mad after his lover’s death and starts hallucinating was intense—his eyes truly conveyed madness.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this series and would totally recommend it. From start to finish, it was captivating, and the happy ending added a touch of magic to the experience.

Una bonita historia que toca fibras sensibles.

Me llamó la atención porque había leído buenas críticas respecto a las actuaciones así que comencé a ver la historia sin saber bien si era un drama romántico, dramático, suspeso... pero oh sorpresa, es una serie dramática familiar humanista, de esas historias en las que los japoneses son expertos en contar y te tocan fibras sensibles. Es hermoso ver como todos los personajes brillan en cierto punto de la historia, dandoles su espacio y reconociendo que cada uno es una pieza para armar el rompecabezas que es el drama en sí.

Y sí, las actuaciones son uno de los puntos más fuertes que tiene, solo ver a Bando Ryota dándola vida a un Mi-kun autista puedes ver el compromiso y el esfuerzo que hizo para interpretar al personaje con todo el respecto del mundo. Yagira Yuya nunca lo había visto antes, ese hombre es más de cine pero sí sabía que era buen sctor y aquí lo comprobe... y el niño que interpreta a Lion-kun es una joyita con futuro.

El drama toca temas de la sociedad actual como el autismo y la violencia familiar pero pese a esos temas fuertes la historia te atrapa desde el 1er episodio por la gran química de nuestros 3 protagonistas, que te hace que les tomes cariño y te enfades con los villanos, sufras cuando algo está mal, etc.

En medio de tanto remake o adaptaciones de mangas llegó una historia como Lion no Kakurega a salvar el 2024, una historia familiar bonita y llena de sentimientos.

Looks friendly but has secrets

I LOVED THIS SERIES!! I thought it would definitely be just a cheesy cute comedic reality type show, but I was wrong. The colors popped out, and the OSTs were very soothing to listen to. Not to mention that catchy intro?? Once I saw Son's story, I was sooo confused!
This series had me laughing and nervous for the characters sneaking around to find out the truth. I'm really hoping for a 2nd season, though I'm not sure how it would go since Son and Day have a kid, but I think it would be nice to continue their story. Thai shows tend to be overdramatic, so their acting was definitely on point knowing they were told to do that. I loved the cast, and everyone was likeable ♡

first four episodes amazing than it exploded

I’m here to rant, first four episodes lovely well brought out. Than coming to the last episode it was really the last straw for me, because how did they go from loving each other to separating once again due to the fact they can’t move past their indifferences. The FL has an issue that she doesn’t want to be indebted to the ML, whilst ML wants to help her with her dream?! The last straw for me was the ending scene that was an absolute havoc, we went from ex lovers to strangers to coworkers to lovers again back to ex lovers and then lovers again. Like make the plot of its make sense it could’ve played out well if it wasn’t for the last episode. Ending scene made it feel rushed and the fact he just appeared at the airport and she willing accepted him and him following her?!


Overall the chemistry was top tier, when the kiss scenes came up I could feel the intensity and that’s what really made up for the rating.
