an excellent drama!
As a new drama adapted from the game of the same name, "Legend of the Immortal Sword and Wonderful Warrior 4" displays impressive features in all aspects, especially in terms of plot development, characterisation, visual effects and sound treatment. From a plot perspective, the opening of this drama may give off a slightly childish feel, which is mainly reflected in some of the plot treatments and the initial setup of the characters. However, it is this setting that leaves room for subsequent story development and character growth. As the plot deepens, the audience can clearly feel the changes and maturity of the protagonists, and this arrangement of the plot from shallow to deep makes the story even more intriguing. The characterisation of the male and female protagonists is unique, and their interactions and emotional entanglements add to the complexity of the plot and the fun of watching.
In terms of audio-visual effects, the performance of this drama is top-notch. In terms of dubbing, the voices of each character are very much in line with their personalities, giving the characters a more distinctive life, while also enhancing the overall viewing experience. Visually, the high standard of art production is evident in the exquisite costumes, unique set designs, and the use of colours. These elements combine to create a world that is both fantastical and real for the viewer, making it seem as if they are there.
Regarding the controversy over "Immortal Sword and Sorcery 4", since I have not been exposed to the original game, my evaluation is from the perspective of the TV series only. The drama is undoubtedly a successful attempt to not only faithfully recreate the essence of the game, but also innovate and enhance the depth of the characters, storyline and audio-visual presentation. Although the plot is slightly young at first, it presents an increasingly engaging story as it unfolds and the characters develop. I believe that as the plot develops further, the drama will not only win the hearts of gaming fans, but also attract more viewers who enjoy fantasy-themed dramas.

Well
So I decided to watch this because I just watched “When A Snail Falls In Love”. Boy was this a mistake, I don’t have many words for this.It is long and drawn out, I never got to the plot, I made it to episode 4 of full watching and all the way to episode 15 skipping through and jumped to episode 50 to get it over with.
I don’t know if it was long and drawn out, the delusions of a lot of the characters, to the color white that the main fl always seems to be in or how no one knows how to explain themselves.
I would not recommend watching 50 episodes of this

Another unwatchable drama starring Shaun Tam
Shaun never fails to disappoint me with his poor portrayal of characters and poor choice of projects. Or maybe he's just exceptionally good at picking characters that are 2 dimensional and extremely dull. At this point, I don't know if he is genuinely trying to annoy me or if he is just a terrible actor. It's most likely the latter.I'm pretty sure every TV series I've seen him in on TVB is unwatchable. It's like he is competing with "Chin Pang" to be the most unwatchable actor on TVB. They're tied this year at being unwatchable in my books because their dramas should have been rejected before production. Period.
As for "Take Two", it feels like a complete rip off of "Over Run Over" starring Vincent Wong, Tracy Chu and Ben Yuen. Time travel is such a severely overused plot device on TV. Add on top of that the bad CGI of a collapsing building, and the constant flashbacks of the 2 female leads suffering life-ending injuries, and you have a recipe for disaster.
The funniest thing about all of this is Shaun actually won Best Actor of 2021 for his performance in this dreadful piece of work! Can't say I was surprised he won because the TV execs invited his famous celeb father Ti Lung to the awards ceremony. Talk about something being rigged!

Waste of time!
Just when i thought Who Wants a Baby was bad, this was worse! (Ali Lee only have one expression in most of her her acting and Lai Lok-Yi is always so full of himself to the extend irritating in almost all his roles!Plan B -Lousy script! Poor acting from Eliza on this one. Too far fetched story line and I seriously doubt in reality, things can be this bad (the in-laws can't get along Kiki Sheug & Mimi Kung) and to pair Kenneth Mah (like uncle) with Eliza is a no brainer! Don't waste time!

Vuoto

The strangest tale was that the love interest was dropped out down the line
I am at episode 13 and seriously considering to stop watching it. The first thing which draw my attention for being quite off was the fact that the love interest presented in the first five or six episodes was completely forgotten by writers, actors and directors in the next five episodes. Two young people, who were presumably in love with each other while events and people kept them appart, are as stiff as wood when events bring them together, sharing meals, rooms, adventures. No emotion, no furtive glanses, no pauses full of yearning. Nothing. It did not have to be lines, or hugs or kisses. But it had to be something there, that the actors and director could have put into it, if the writers completely forgot what they wrote in the beginning. Well, it was not. The only thing going for the series was the detective stories. And the fun the actor playing the older detective put into his character. Otherwise, no character development, overall, and the series walks the thin line which lies between skematic and bare naked and lacking.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Boring had to drop it
I started this series because I like the FL Zhao Li Ying (Prince Agents) and Luo Jin (Princess Wei Young). While this is a far departure from typical dramas of the city life, the village life is still an intriguing plot/storyline to explore. However this series was painfully boring. Aside from the FL who did a good job, every other character was so annoying and boring to watch. I just could not get into this series at all. Made it to episode 5 (with lots of skipping) to when Luo Jin finally makes an appearance. But even then, his appearance did not make the series more engaging.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
One of the most toxic "fixes" to mental illness I've ever seen.
SUMMARYThis drama glosses over the severity of mental illness by presenting it as something momentary that you can get over in a minute. It overestimates a mentally ill persons abilities to recover from it and it never encourages medical or professional help as it never recognizes suicidal tendencies as part of a severe illness in the first place.
It's unaware of the different diagnosis it's presenting symptoms of which becomes a problem as it treats every case similarly. Insult the person and tell them to become stronger, give them a near death experience, encourage them with words and then the person is cured and will never try to commit suicide again. An extremely damaging and unrealistic approach to encourage people to use on suicidal or suffering individuals. Even if the approach would consist of only positive encouragement, the writers are still not recognizing that this needs medical attention once the person has survived their first suicide attempt.
This drama was created to spread awareness and lower the stigma around mental health issues but instead, what this drama is basically doing is encouraging and validating the toxic out look Korean people have on mental illness and invalidating the suffering and trauma, individuals had to go through to become suicidal.
I also don't understand the writers choice to encourage traumatizing or destroying the "bullies" lives as a punishment for their actions. A study shows that the most likely reason a person becomes a bully is because they have been deprived of a safe space and are suffering from severe trauma or stress. This is a very important detail the show could have brought up. No matter what choices you made in life, if you're suffering from mental illness you should be offered help. Considering that the bully went on to become a public figure, someone who has constant pressure, stress and hate directed at them daily, they're probably in a really bad mental state already and has now, for sure, become more likely to develop suicidal thoughts because of the RM team. Very counter productive for a team that is supposed to lower Koreas suicide rate. This also means that they're spreading a message that you deserve to suffer if I believe you're a bad person even if you too, are a victim of mental illness.
LONG REVIEW
Korea carries one of the worlds highest suicide rates in the world.
Why?
To name only a few reasons; The Korean society was built to perfectly mimic survival of the fittest. Escaping the bottom of the pyramid is nearly impossible and accidentally sliding off the top is a daily risk. People are expected from an early age to become number one at everything but in a country of roughly 52 million people, only one can become number one and everyone else has to fight for the left over money the top 1% hasn't pocketed yet. Being valued at such a surfaced level, the fear, the stress and the pressure is a sure way to cause mental deterioration, so how do people deal with it?
Frankly speaking, they don't.
In Korea, mental illness is not being taken as seriously as it should and a lot of people don't understand what it entails. It's misrepresented in the media too often and constantly associated with insanity, weakness or danger. It's highly stigmatized, looked down upon and going to therapy to get help is still a taboo.
And this drama embodied that toxic mentality perfectly.
The job of the Risk management team is to find suicidal individuals, figure out why they are suicidal and then convince them not to end themselves. And although this drama does a great job with presenting traumatic events, trauma, PTSD and depression it doesn't know that it's doing it and that's a problem. It's a problem because the solution presented to solve the issue at hand minimizes the severity of the situation and enforces the toxic mentality that so many Koreans have when it comes to mental illness. "Just change your attitude and you'll be fine".
Sadly, that's not how it works.
If a person is considering suicide, it's not an impulse thought. In most cases, people have to go through an immense amount of pain and suffering before the thought of not existing enters their mind. And then the thought of not existing becomes comforting. Once it's comforting it usually stays just a thought for most people. "I don't want to exist. I want to die. But I wont." For a person to be pushed beyond this, it takes a lot of additional torment. The comfort of not existing encourages a curiosity in how one could leave this world and then these option make a plan. Lastly, the plan is executed and that's it.
So why does suicide become an option?
It's not because of self pity and it's not because life after death is expectedly better. If a person chooses suicide it's most likely because this person has suffered enough depression that their mental state has been completely reprogrammed into feeling only self loath, misery and loss of importance. Any positive emotion has been unlearned by the brain and any attempted at relearning them will feel fruitless. You're not feeling sorry for yourself but you're feeling sorry for everyone around you that has to put up with your shit. You feel bad because you don't deserve to be here since you're not doing any good for the world anyway and because of your current situation, you're becoming a burden to the ones who once loved you, but don't love you anymore. Of course they don't love you anymore. You don't love you anymore.
Now, with all of this in mind, how good of an idea do you think it is to tell a person standing on the edge of a roof top to "do better", "get over it", "get stronger", "don't be so weak", "You put yourself here"? And how possible would it be that the suicidal person is already thinking it?
How probable do you think it is that putting this person in a near death situation will suddenly change their mind and make them want to live?
How much of an impact do you think making them laugh once (if even possible at all) and then telling them to "smile more" will have on their life?
It would have the same impact as telling a person in a wheel chair to get up and walk it off.
Just like any physical illness, healing takes time. And in severe cases it can take a life time. It takes doctor visits, check ups, diagnosis, medicine, rehabilitation, work, love, support, motivation and all of this might still not be a permanent prevention of having suicidal tendencies. It's a never ending battle between life and death and you need a strong motivator to be willing to put up with such a long lasting fight under such unfavorable circumstances and not be tempted to just give up.
If you've made it this far into my review I want to know if any of these things that I have written about mental illness was communicated to you in any way through this drama.
- Did you realize the severity of the characters mental health issues and what they might be suffering from?
- Where you in anyway informed of how much treatment and work these characters are going to have to go through now that they survived their first suicide attempt?
- Were you presented with what that hard work and struggle might look like?
- Did they ever mention that having a diagnosis is okay?
- Did they ever encourage getting help from professionals?
- Did they ever validate that the people they saved were sick?
- Did you realize that the "bullies" were suffering from mental illness as well?
Personally, nothing I have listed here were things I felt like the drama communicated well.
And the reason I'm asking this is because this drama wasn't made for people suffering from sever mental illness. Those who are still trying to get treated don't want to relive their nightmares through other characters and then be invalidated because they still don't know how to handle things. The people who have gotten treatment don't need to be educated on what to do cause they're already aware of what they need. So the only audience left to influence are the people who either don't suffer from mental illness, or the ones who have untreated mental illness and aren't seeking help for it.
And for those people, I would never recommend watching this drama.

DISRESPECTFUL AND RACIST DRAMA. TAKE IT DOWN AND APOLOGIZE!
"You look like a Filipino maid" some says that it was mistranslated but it still remains the same. Your Racism towards Filipinos remains the same. You Chinese citizen are mad if people from other country disrespect you. You even forced a 15 year old girl to apologize for holding the flag of her own country wherein she was raised, what an unreasonable monsters. You would even backlash and send all the hates towards that person. but now, you did something very very very wrong that you should apologize for. To be honest, east-asian racism towards South east-asian is so normalized people never talk about it AT ALL. NOW, APOLOGIZE SINCERELY TO FILIPINOS. What that translator did is such a shameful act. Take down your trash drama now. It's not even worth watching. TRASH.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
So after seeing those two videos on Youtube I went to watch the first episode.
The story of how Goblin came to be was intriguing and seeing how the Reaper worked had me as well so I became giddy thinking this was going to be an excellent watch.
Man how wrong was I??? The main FL became annoying pretty quick. I was hoping against hope that this wasn't going to be a dimwitted female who will fall in love quickly without having any relationship buildup and there it was....the dimwitted female who quickly falls in love with a guy without having a relationship buildup. It's why I became to hate Korean romance dramas in the first place.
The oozing sappy cliche romances always grate my nerves and I truly steer clear of them. I have, however, watched some Kdramas that had romance in it that was barely tolerable but this one...I felt it was just going to be the same throughout the whole series.
I tried going back to finish the first episode but I just kept pausing and haven't been back since. I can't say anything else about this drama because I barely finished the first episode. From reading other reviews that had the same feelings as me, I don't think I'm missing anything.

Perhaps I'm burned out
It's the first time I ever write a review after watching only one episode of, actually, quite a promising looking series. But I dropped immediately after around 40 minutes from the first episode.
Everything, as I have perceived...was a clear mess.
To be completely fair with this series, as I am aware that judging it over only the first episode does not sound like a very credible review at all, please just hear me out.
This series has every good ingredient. Good actors, good music, an averagely good story, good editing and.....nothing seems to fit together. In fact, many modern k-dramas seem to have everything on the surface, but are completely empty inside.
They are UN-HARMONIUS. None of the elemets mentioned above connect together in a harmonius manner. It's a mess.
I don't have the intelligence to use the best words to describe my experience. It is as if I already knew, by intuition, what this series was trying to do. It wanted me to use my brain to try and understand whatever the plot was trying to do, instead of giving me and laying me out the obvious. I was confused for 40 minutes, trying to figure out what was actually going on.
And because of the unharmonious elements (story, music, acting, pacing), something that on the surface looked promising (perhaps that's where the good reviews came from?), personally, I was bored out of my mind, and on top of that, the series didn't convince me to care about any of the characters at all.
It all felt like a tiring, messy and pointless dream.

I've suffered through Sunbae Lipsticks horrible repetition with zero plot worth, I won't suffer here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to watch this for nana but wow that's so boring. like if it was written in 2010s, why won't they even try to modify it to fit 2021?
I mean cliches are fun but if it never went away it's just another boring drama!!!
the ml is SO BAD, beside his monotonal life that doesn't appeal to me whatsoever, this is like the 3rd time Lee Min Ki's been acting as that type of character in a raw, agh I miss his Shut Up: Flower Boy Band role
the fl seems fresh, usually she'd be a crybaby to the jerk, but then it's one of those enemies to lovers thing and they bicker so much it's off putting. which again would be nana's 2nd time as that type of romance
I got curious on the white dude though but the plot doesn't even mention it? anyway this is a drop after the 1st half of ep1

Couldn't Get into It
I tried really hard to continue watching but my mind would wonder. Maybe it was because of the constant voiceover of the lead, not letting something just develop naturally. It was like he was telling a fairytale he was living in and not in a modern world. I wanted to like this drama as it looked really funny and good, but sadly I just couldn't get into it. Does that mean it's a bad drama? No. Just not for me personally. I hope the lead becomes the man he is destined to become with the "goddess" he met. I also hope others who are watching, enjoy it.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
