This might be the worst drama I've ever watch. I tried watching the drama twice and both times I can't seem to pass the annoyance of the first episode.

From the first episode, there was plot holes left and right....... Basically the girl is loud and outspoken, and assumes that she's always right and whatnot. The boy, who became the CEO and the landlord of the girl's house, is a coward who just lets the girl yell at him, because the girl assumes she is always right. That made no sense whatsoever to the boy's characteristic, the scene before he was telling his employees he will fire anyone who's having office romance in his company, and threatened a worker that if he propose to another girl than he can look for another job. The next scene the main character girl is yelling at him, and he basically says nothing, then compares his company to a country, the girl disagreed and started arguing with him again...PLOTHOLES...if the main character guy was as cold as the actor portray him in the scene before, he would have fired that girl already. Doesn't make any sense to allow the girl continue yelling at him.
This is just one of the many plotholes I found within the first episode.

I'm not sure if the reason that I hate this drama is due to the bad script or bad acting, but in order to have an enjoyable drama, you need both, and this drama might have neither.
BTW I understand chinese but I still turned on english sub because I can't read chinese (and I need sub in order to take in anything). SO I will say this (base on the subs on netflix), the subs do not translate how f@cc*** dumb the way the main character girl speaks and from where I dropped the show the main character boy barely talked.

FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, THE FISH WAS THE BEST PART OF THE DRAMA, JUST BECAUSE IT WAS CUTE AND THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE BETTER.

Perfect series!!!

Perfect series!!! Great script, great actors and good music. Waiting frantically from episode to episode. Highly recommended!!!
The story is constantly moving forward... in my opinion it is never boring for a moment and there is always something new that is discovered and much that has not yet been discovered. Very intriguing!!!
The main couple are stunning together!! The chemistry between them drives the viewers crazy!!! You see that Alice loves Pat very much, but is stuck in his trauma from the relationship he had with Run... and this is expressed in a lack of communication between the two.
In addition to that, I really liked that the story got more and more intriguing!!! I like that unlike other series, in this series the secondary characters are not frozen and banal but actually take part in the mysterious story.
Highly recommended!!!!

Found this show while looking for some Xian Xia dramas to watch, however stopped after 2 episodes.

Story: NA
Acting/Cast: Male lead's acting was somewhat bearable but not the female lead. Main problem I have with the female lead is her voice and the way how she acts. It's like she's trying to be cute, but it just isn't working and instead is extremely childish and annoying. Tried my best to continue with this showing while ignoring the acting from her but it was still unbearable.
Music: The songs from this show were the only thing that made me come back to it, especially Jue Ai. So overall, the only thing for me that was decent from this drama is the music.

SYNOPSIS

This drama depicts the story of Cheng Shao Shang ", the "unruly" daughter of Cheng clan and of Ling Buyi, the emperor's adopted son.
Shaoshang grew up without her "family". She does not know what love means, how it feels to be loved and when you can feel love. All throughout her life, she was bullied and mocked for being "abandon" as a new born and "illiterate". She refused to be bullied and so she stand up for herself most of the time. When her parents returned from almost 15 years of absence, she thought she can finally feel the warmth of having "real family" love but then constantly reminded by her mother how "incompetent" she is compared to her "well-mannered" cousin (asian thing).

Ling Buyi is the adopted son of the Emperor. He is a capable General with a "broken" and "dark" past. He felt a strong attraction to young lady, Shaoshang but he did not yet to confess his feelings. He mostly appears whenever Shaoshang is in trouble or in danger, willing to risk his life just for her to be safe. "Action speaks louder than words".

There are two other important "male heroes", Lou Yao and Yuan Shen. Both are from noble families. Lou Yao, the first one to pursue Shaoshang, asked for her hand for marriage and the first one to show Shaoshang how to be "appreciated", "valued" and "loved" but the engagement did not last long for some circumstances. Yuan Shen, pursue Shaoshang when Ling Buyi was punished by the emperor and was sent to the frontier for a long period of time. Heartbroken Shaoshang accepted Yuan Shen to forget Ling Buyi.

Fate played them well.

Ling Buyi came back and messed Shaoshang's feelings again. This time, they will not let go of each other and will hold on forever.

It was so bad I deleted gagaoolala

Im normally pretty longwinded in reviews, especially if I didnt like the series, but for once, i have not shit to say. I didnt even make it though episode one. I figured it was going to be NC scene heavy, but never in a million years did I expect every NC scene to feel awkward, random, and kinda forced/fake 🙃 this was a no.

From what i got between all the jacking off and horny people trying to fuck everything with legs, their friend dissappeared and no one gives enough of a fuck to report that and instead call an escort dressed up like a cop to take their friends mind off the other one disappearing???? Ok sure. Being a virgin is aparently the crime of all crimes to this group so lets have some weird consent issues for 200. Ok bet. BL writers must think fans are famished because why are we holding a stare with no words for 10+ seconds??? I literally thought something happened to the app. Christ i just wanna forget I watched any of this so hopefully this is 500 words.

Baseless and boring

( starts with a fairy trying to make a pact with devil in order as instructed by her grandpa ..devil appears and just bites her ...) this all is a part of game she is playing ... Like preface of the game.

It was okay until now .. then starts a lousy narration in which she explains about the game and related reality ...and suddenly we see the devil and fairy have already became a friendly couple ... The hell ... No context about how their feelings grew ...no build up of the story ... Just out of nothing they appear in a "caring for each other" phase .... For Pete's sake they are devil and fairy ...do they fall in love just like that ...
Honestly speaking the way the story progresses suddenly it was indeed best to be developed as a game but I don't think you should portray a drama in such inconsistent manner ...
Can't tell if the story got any better afterwards but I decided to drop it after episode 1 .. time is too precious to waste on a drama that doesn't have a nice pilot episode ...

Feeling bad Guan Yue ..he was looking very handsome and acted well ..but damn it to hell this lousy script turned the entire drama into a waste ..

Manhwa Reader's Don't Watch This Travesty

Bride of The water is a tragedy and example of human greed and loss of integrity. For one, the writer for this live action has worked on several famous pieces so I expected some things from this, not a sad piece of garbage with a messy plot, bad characters, and try-hard comedy. I was like, okay they are switching this to modern day...I can deal with that...it turns out I couldn't.

1. The pairing is horrible. Nam Joo Hyuk and Shin Se Kyung have no chemistry together. Nam Joohyuk also does not have a face that screams "water god" either. I would have liked a seasoned actor, one with Charisma and a more mature feel. I praise the actors for playing their roles, with what a mess it was. Props to them in that aspect, but The female lead's character was written so horribly I have to wonder just what the writer and crew were on when they decided to go with them. The male lead too was written so horribly I had to question...this is a god? Really? I am not degrading the actors for their acting, rather the script writers and those with authority who authorized the reality of these characters to occur.

2. From a beautiful ancient world, beautiful costumes, lores, and characters...the term "modernized" ruined the potential the story had. It's just so sad. Do you know how gorgeous Habaek is in the manwha? How beautiful the clothes So Ah wore was? How Beautifully sad the love story between Habaek's parent's were? The political war that tore heaven in two is? And from a beautifully complex, and hurt god that Habaek was...they make him a joke in the live action. They ruined the character of Habaek. They killed Habaek. The first official meeting between Habaek and So Ah was magical. The settings or ancient korea with the lotus lakes and the realm of the gods. How magical it would be if it came to life. Instead what we get is a sick joke of a scene where Habaek is in western like outfit and blue long hair as a god? I laughed my butt off because of how sad this scene was. If they had the ability to make a western Habaek, why didn't they just stick to the original Manhwa version of Habaek?

3. I would not be mad if THIS WAS NOT SO BLATANTLY LABELED AS THE LIVE ACTION OF THE MANHWA BRIDE OF THE WATER GOD! WHY SAY YOU ARE A LIVE ACTION IF YOU CHANGE THE ENTIRE PLOT, ACT AS IF HALF THE CHARACTERS DON'T EXIST, CHANGE THE CHARACTERS INTO COMEDIC JOKES FAR FROM THE ORIGINAL, AND DON'T EVEN HONOR THE ORIGINAL SETTING OF THE STORY? Thanks for telling me you want my money but don't care about honoring the original work.

Bride of the Water god has a big fanbase. They used the fans for views when the live action doesn't even deserve to be called a live action. And god I swear, even Netflix's death note did not change as much of the plotline as this piece of garbage did. I am sad the actors and actresses of this show had to work on this.

If they followed the original story, trust me, this drama series would go down in history. The world of bride of the water god is beautiful. The characters are beautiful. With a skilled and respectful enough crew, they could bring the series to life by developing the characters and adapting the settings and costumes. It'd be on par with Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. Korea hasn't managed to do that yet though. They haven't made a decent historical fantasy costume drama in long time. (I don't count Goblin etc, those are mainly set in modern time).

What was that? ?

超级难看别浪费自己的时间
I was recommended this because I liked Mr Queen. It’s nothing close to that “masterpiece”.
Maybe it’s not for me.
But the first few minutes of the first episode were quite painful to watch.
The way they introduced the so called match makers. They made them seem cool but I just couldn’t see that for myself.
Didn’t like anyone
Didn’t like the female lead
I felt like everyone’s acting didn’t come off natural.
I’ve never acted in my life so this is no direct criticism on the actors themselves. I’m sure they tried their best. Anyhow , I’ll pass on this one.
I couldn’t get past the first episode. But some have rated it 10 so don’t take my word for it. See for yourself .

Everyone has flaws

The directing is perfect and storyline can realate to real life. People who sway to SML is because of traditional kdrama like heirs where rich guys have arrogant attitude and people dream to get thrm in real life. I dont find ML as stiff because a, he is in IT and some IT ppl are introverts. He loves FML as the way she is and sending back home and picking her up to work are very sweet nature. OST are awesome and cant complain. There is no love triangle in the series cos she is never intested in SML, just letters that comfort her through tough times and vice versa. I watched three times of this series and made me happy. I watched every single detail like she opened the music box after she met ML which she never opened before cos she was afraid that she probably not like it when her expectations are high. Of course i symathise SML being orphan but its nothing to do with love. ML has besties which they each other gave up nights for solving their problems etc. Grandma also realised why FML likes ML cos of his kindness like developing app for her. The story is well written and acting is top notch. I also learn a few things that mgt is not about right or wrong but ppl choose which gives less noise and we get judged by whichever decision we make. For example shareholder splits.

Dropped due to incomprehensible subbing.

This is not a review. I'd like to write one but unfortunately it was impossible to watch this drama due to its awful subtitling that was probably made with some auto translation tools.
I will rant though about this matter in a review in order to remain here and be read by the incompetent team that subbed this drama this way.
So my question to the sub team is the following?
Why did you bother to sub this drama by the time that you didn't have the skills nor the will to provide comprehensible subtitles? Even if you are subbing for fan, or for hobby, or in order to practice your translation skills, you have to provide comprehensible subtitles. It is the only requirement after all!
If you can't provide this kind of subbing THEN DON'T DO IT AT ALL. It is not that it's obligatory to sub in a language that you don't know. But if you decide to do so, then you are obliged to do it right. It is either/ or. There is no middle ground on translating in a foreign language.

I'm saying that as a subber of a good number of dramas in my native language and not like someone who has no clue about the difficulties of translating at a foreign language.

Using auto translation tools and on top of that not bothering to check the subs for errors is an insult for those who spend countless hours to offer translated subtitles and an insult for this community.

I'm not rating this drama as it is unwatchable without decent subtitles something that is quite unfair for those who worked in this production. Actors and production team alike.

The rating that you see above is for those who subbed it the way they did so. Shame on you.
