A strong start, but what on earth was that ending?!
The series started really strongly, with suspense and intrigue, a loveless marriage, kidnap, blackmail, and more.
But halfway through it seemed to lose all momentum and descend into a clash of different angles that seemed to run together head on.
Once Hee-Joo fell down the cliff, everything just went wrong. It was all just too much, too many absurd unbelievable story lines hashed together to make a very unrealistic story. And yea, I know, K-dramas aren’t know for their realistic nature - but this pushed it to the extreme.
The actors were excellent, but the script and direction really ruined what could have been a great drama.
What the heck was the final episode and Hee-Joo running away to a war zone all about?! For all of 15 minutes?!
Rating it as the best of 2024 - laughable.
