Choo Young Woo and Cho Yi Hyun are in positive talks to reunite in a new K-drama
Woo Do Hwan is in discussion to star in the upcoming K-drama led by top actor Kim Soo Hyun.
On July 15, media outlets reported that Woo Do Hwan will join the upcoming Disney+ original K-drama Knock Off.
Woo Do Hwan's agency shared their response to the casting reports. According to Blitzway Studio, "Woo Do Hwan received the offer to star in the new K-drama Knock Off. The actor is currently reviewing it."
This will possibly be the third upcoming K-drama of Woo Do Hwan. For this year, the actor will join the cast of the upcoming K-drama Mr. Plankton. He will work alongside Lee You Mi, Oh Jung Se, Kim Hae Sook, Kim Min Seok, and Lee El.
Woo Do Hwan will also return to the new season of Bloodhounds Season 2.
Aside from K-dramas, Woo Do Hwan will also return to the movie scene with Night Fever. He will star alongside Jang Dong Gun, Girls Day's Lee Hye Ri, Park Sung Hoon, Kim Min Seok, and Kim Min.
Knock Off is set in the Asian financial crisis from 1997 to the early 2000s. The K-drama will narrate the story of an ordinary man who became unemployed during the IMF crisis. He then decided to enter the knockoff business at the end of the 20th century. Eventually, he became a knock-off king not only in South Korea but all over the world in the 21st century.
The K-drama will be the joint work of director Park Hyun Suk (Uncontrollably Fond and Stranger Season 2) and writer Han Jung Hoon. SLL and Arc Media will produce the upcoming series.
Knock Off will be led by Kim Soo Hyun, Jo Bo Ah, Kim Shi Eun, Yoo Jae Myung, Go Gyu Pil, Lee Jung Eun, and more.
Woo Do Hwan got the offer to star as Lee Min Seok in the series. He is the high school classmate of Kim Soo Hyun's character Kim Seong Jun who will help him during his financial crisis. Lee Min Seok is currently the CEO of the largest portal site in South Korea.
Knock Off will exclusively premiere on Disney+. According to reports, the K-drama will have a total of 9 episodes.
