Upcoming drama "Dominant Species" confirms its official cast!

The upcoming sci-fi drama "Dominant Species" revealed its main leads and filming date.

On September 8th, ACE FACTORY officially announced that Joo Ji Hoon, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Hee Joon, Lee Moo Saeng, and Park Ji Yeon will be the main leads of "Dominant Species." It was also revealed that the series will begin its production in the second half of 2022. 

"Dominant Species" is set in an era where humans are used to eating cultured mead produced by culturing animal cells. The story begins when several people began questioning the track record of the CEO of BF Group, a biotechnology company that is dominating the culture meat market. 

The upcoming drama will be the latest work of writer Lee Soo Yeon who is known for the works "Stranger," "Life," and "Grid." 

Joo Ji Hoon will play the role of Woo Chae Woon, a former military guard who graduated from the Naval Academy. 

Han Hyo Joo will play the role of Yoo Ja Yu, the founder, and CEO of BF Group, a cell culture and meat company.

Lee Hee Joon will play the role of Prime Minister Sunwoo Jae, Lee Moo Saeng will be a founding member of the BF Group, and Park Ji Yeon will play the role of the planning manager and lawyer of BF Group.

"Dominant Species" will start filming this year. The broadcast date and channel are not yet finalized.

This will be the follow-up drama of Joo Ji Hoon after the 2021 series "Jirisan." The actor is also set to star in several upcoming films such as "Gentleman," "Silence," and the reported "Along with the Gods 3." The actor was last seen in the film "Hunt" led by Lee Jung Jae and Jung Woo Sung wherein he made a special appearance. 

Meanwhile, this will be the second upcoming drama of Han Hyo Joo. Before she stars in "Dominant Species," she will first lead the upcoming Disney+ drama "Moving" together with Ryu Seung Ryong, Zo In Sung, Lee Jung Ha, Go Yoon Jung, and Kim Do Hoon. Han Hyo Joo will also be part of the upcoming movies "20th Century Girl" and "Believer 2."
