Kim So Hyun and Hwang Min Hyun's K-drama "Useless Lies" Gears Up for Release

The upcoming tvN drama Useless Lies has been confirmed to be released in July. 

The new mystery rom-com (directed by Nam Sung Woo and written by Seo Jeong Eun) tells the story of Mok Sol Hee, a woman with the ability to detect lies, and a genius composer Kim Do Ha, who hides his true identity. 

The drama promises to be a unique romantic comedy that combines the whimsy of fantasy with the excitement of a mystery thriller. 

Kim So Hyun plays the role of the lie hunter Mok Sol Hee, who has the ability to sense lies and has grown up to be cynical about everything. Despite being gifted with such a unique ability, Sol Hee considers her powers to be a curse rather than a blessing. One day, when she loses all faith in humanity, she meets Kim Do Ha (Hwang Min Hyun), who is suspicious but never lies, and her life takes a new turn with this encounter. Regarding her character, Kim So Hyun commented, "I am so happy and excited to work with the actors and the director whom I've always admired. I am doing my best to show many new and interesting sides of Mok Sol Hee, so please look forward to my performance".

Whereas, Hwang Min Hyun plays a star composer named Kim Do Ha who is a reclusive loner with an untold secret. He goes by the stage name "K" and has his private life completely hidden from the public. When he gets involved with an odd woman living next door - Mok Sol Hee -  he begins to regain his old cheerful self he once lost. Regarding his character, Hwang Min Hyun said, "I am honoured and happy to play the role of Kim Do Ha. It is an opportunity to show a different side of myself as a composer who is shrouded in mystery. Please look forward to it." "

Yun Ji On plays Cho Deuk Chan the representative of J Entertainment who knows Kim Do-ha's true identity and sees him as his younger brother. With his exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and leadership, Cho Deuk Chan is the one who led Kim Do Ha from a life of poverty to the path of a successful composer. Yoon Ji On commented, "I'm very excited to be a part of this drama. I'll do my best to add vitality to the drama through my character, Cho Deuk Chan".

Seo Ji Hoon plays the role of Lee Kang Min, a detective with a strong sense of justice and Mok Sol Hee's first love. After three years, he reunites with Sol Hee and becomes entangled in complicated relations upon discovering Kim Do Ha's true identity. Seo Ji Hoon expressed his excitement and said, "I'm excited to play a police officer for the first time and show different facets of my acting abilities. I will make every effort to deliver the best performance."

Lee Si Woo is a born-to-be entertainer, a well-known solo singer, and the "Nation's Younger Sister" Syaon, who - with her delicate soulful voice - has captivated people. She is an honest and passionate girl who has a crush on Kim Do Ha and sees him as her destined soulmate. Lee Si Woo commented, "I'm so happy and grateful to have the opportunity to play the character of Syaon.
