Park Ju Hyun, Kim Young Dae, Yoon Se Ah, Kim Byung Chul's "Perfect Family" Confirms Release Slot
The upcoming K-movie Revolver dropped stills featuring Im Ji Yeon.
Revolver tells the story of Soo Young, a former police officer who takes the fall for someone else's crimes and ends up in prison, only to be betrayed. Upon her release, she charges forward with the sole purpose of reclaiming what she thinks is rightfully hers.
Actress Im Ji Yeon plays Jung Yoon Sun, a character whose thoughts remain elusive. Yoon Sun, the only person who visits Soo Young on her release day from prison, is revealed to be the madam of a suspicious entertainment establishment, which is intertwined with Soo Young's scandalous case. Without offering any answers to Soo Young's questions about how she knew about her release date or who sent her, Yoon Sun simply hands over a gift for her prison release and disappears.
Thereafter, she hovers around Soo Young, leaving it uncertain whether she is a helper or a betrayer surveilling Soo Young's every move.
Actress Im Ji Yeon commented, "The charm of Yoon Sun, who appears like a vitamin in the quiet film, fascinated me. I wanted to express Yoon Sun in an interesting way. She seems simple but turns out to be a complex two-faced and thoughtful character. I hoped to subtly convey feelings of camaraderie and nuanced emotions as a fellow woman while helping Soo Young."
Director Oh Seung Uk remarked, "In portraying Yoon Sun, I felt that Im Ji Yeon showed a side that we haven't seen in other works before. The moment when Yoon Sun's true self is revealed, her mask falls off."
Revolver will premiere on August 7.
