WATTPAD MEETS K-DRAMA

This k-drama is only two episodes in and I am already HOOKED!! It has all my favorite tropes: arranged marriage, she fell first he fell harder, cold male lead who secretly cares for the female lead, etc. The acting and the chemistry between Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin is so good! I am living for the tension and Baek Sa Eon's possessiveness/protectiveness! AND THE PLOT TWISTS!? SO GOOD!! It is also a plot that I have never seen before, especially in a k-drama. Overall, such a good k-drama that has me hooked since episode one!

oooh yeah... yes!... common now that sounds PROMISING! :D

So I was just bored today, started this drama without any expectations and to my surprise I watched the first two episodes without even blinking!! No idea how the time went by but one thing was clear, it felt as if I myself am Hong Hui Ju hahaha.. It was so intense and yet romantic, I don't even know how to describe it. I'm a big fan of such thrilling unrequited love series!! Looks like the ML is in love with the FL way before she even knew him..
I really loved how they could keep the romantic vibes on and still make it suspenseful! Has a lot of potential to be one of the best in 2024's!

This has me hooked with the first episode

I came across this series via a TikTok and it had me wanting more and I couldn’t stop … except I caught up and now must wait for the next episode.
I love these characters and the episodes just give us more bread crumbs for the story.
I really really hope this all works out and it doesn’t loose its appeal after 3-5 episodes.
but I do have a good feeling about it.

the story follows a government official who comes from a very esteemed family. He is forced to marry into a media tycoon family.
he agrees but makes a couple of conditions for his new wife. she can’t ask for a divorce, especially during a election year and no one must know she is his wife. if she breaks any of these rules … she owes him 2 billon won.

The wife he agrees to marry has selective mutism. she works as a sign interpreter for a news agency.

one night her car is hacked and she os kidnapped. the kidnapped tells her husband, he doesn’t believe the kidnapped has his wife and tells him not to call again. if he does he better have killed her.

what comes next is a battle of cat and mouse …. it will have you hooked!!!

Even though I've only seen two episodes, I rarely write reviews this early, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts because the start has been fantastic. The storyline is engaging, and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

The casting is spot on, the acting is amazing, and the direction is brilliant. I'm hooked and eagerly awaiting more episodes. I’ll be updating my review weekly, so fingers crossed it continues to deliver!"

it a nice movie

This Drama is the savior of those failed to capture the heart of many kdrama fan like me. The turns and twist can makes you want more of it, the casting I mean the undeniable chemistry of the leads is quite amazing, before it aires some says it will fail as the leads age gap is huge but they prove it wrong. I watched 3 episodes, and I am already waiting for the next, there is a mystery from the past that connects the leads, and crazy how my intuition saying that the leads college friend is the mystery guy.This drama challenge the power of my intuition. Let see after more eps revealed. I hope the prod and director handle it well and not over cooked it. Kudos! we also feel the sparks between the two, it’s nice to be in love, much nicer if secretly.

Classic and seductive.

I don't want to rush into expressing my enthusiasm, but I love stories of love and hate, and the first episode was really great. So, I'm saying welcome!!!

This series has given us everything we want as a classic K-drama in the romantic thriller genre. So far, with just two episodes, it's been quite satisfying.

Who doesn't love a contract marriage storyline? I guess we'll never get tired of it. It's potentially very exciting and intriguing.

The chemistry between the couple is definitely intense.

I'm eagerly looking forward to the flirting period.

I'll definitely continue watching!

When the phone rings I’ll answer your call

I have been waiting what seems like ages for this drama. I’m a fan of both leads and know they are great at what they do. What I haven’t seen from the both of them was a genre like this for the pair, so I’m happy to see something sort of new.

Dramas are getting stale for me these days but I always knew I was going to tune into this one. I’ll be honest though, say what I like and what I don’t.

What I’ll say right away is that the first episode hooks you in through the first scene alone. You wonder about the relationship of the leads and how it go to that point. Why is the husband so narcissistic? Why does the wife stay silent? How and why are they together?

It is clear it’s based on a contract, but I hope it goes into each layer and detail as to why. Thriller is a perfect genre for this idea and I know I’ve seen many contract marriage drama before.. but going the thriller route with it is such a smart move from a writing standpoint. Having all these questions hook the viewer, and to add to that you’ve got great visuals and chemistry.

I’ll comment briefly and add each episode though. I’m used to dramas being great the first few episodes and then really showing their true colors of not knowing what they are doing. Dramas greatest weakness are the runtimes being too long or too short these days. Thrillers have an advantage of being a slow burn though, so I am ok with a bit of slow build up as long as there are visual clues and smart dialogue that tie into each mystery.

Cha Soobin took a great role. She is very sincere with her acting and has a charm to her the same as Yoo Yeon Seok does. It’s seems like a pairing made from the heavens to me. What I’m happy to see is tension, the isolation within the relationship. I really wonder if the romance will work out or if it will be entirely a thriller and have one against the other. Soobin as I said is genuinely full of charm, and is quite cute in all her roles. Here although she isn’t as outspoken, she is just as cute. She is styled amazingly and her straight and long hair looks so stunning. She is quiet but has the acting chops to fill up her role with subtle expressions and emotions.

Yoo Yeon Seok is playing a tricky character. I don’t really know what to say of the lead he’s playing for now, I am enjoying that he is a demeaning figure. Obviously he is oppressive, but to play that sort of role and still have likability.. the man is doing it and it’s impressive. Also he of course is styled so well and looks beyond handsome. If only the couple were actually happy and perfect as they look haha

This is the only kdrama I’m watching at the moment but seriously that’s a lot for me. It means it is worth while and worth my time, so I would recommend.

A Thrilling Experience With a Sensational Pairing

Would you get triggered if someone was threatening your fake wife?

This question and the most possibly reasonable answer to it doesn’t adhere to the premise for this show. After watching the first episode, I was exhilarated and compelled. The second episode left me confused, nevertheless wanting more. Starring Yoo Yeon Seok & Chae Soo Bin, the plotline might seem like a cliche “Enemies to Lover’s” trope; but it is anything except that. We have almost regal couple who have been faking their relationship from Day One; did circumstance push them together or it was a carefully maneuvered scheme by the groom who isn’t as unwilling as it seems. The first two episodes leave you with more questions than answers figuratively. The intricacies relative to the main leads is so mysterious, you can’t help but be intrigued by their differences. As the Presidential candidate’s son, Baek Sa Eon is a public figure in his own right. He doesn’t need to bask in his father’s glory, because he is a celebrity himself. The twist in the tale is that the public believe he is married to Hong In A, Hong Hui Ju’s elder sister. Since the wedding was private, no one has seen his wife yet. Seems suspicious yet, because won’t the paparazzi and media be digging into the private lives of the future President’s family. How Sa Eon managed to hide his wife from public eyes for three years will pique your curiosity; the question is intrinsic to this storyline and thus becomes the premise for this show.
