Life is short, cherish the moment.

Unhampered swordsman, Huo Zhan Bai seeks treatment for his sworn brother's child. His sworn brother's child needs to be treated by the most skilled doctor to have a glimmer of hope of survival. So for his sworn brother's child to receive the treatment he needs, he set out on a journey to the Apothecary Valley. His journey leads him to encounter the most skilled doctor, also know as a Divine doctor, the master of the Apothecary Valley, Xue Zi Ye. Their encounter isn't exactly all that great, but as time flies, they grew closer, developed mutual understanding and trust. And eventually, love blossomed between a free-spirited swordsman and a divine doctor who's always refrained from involving herself in the struggles of the Martial Arts World. However, due to the heavy responsibilities on their shoulders, a love that could have lasted for a lifetime couldn't be expressed fully.

I loved the premise of Snowy Night Timeless Love mainly because right from the first four episodes, I got to see the chemistry of Li Qin and Joseph Zeng. Plus, the stunning cinematography mustn't go unmentioned.

I've always known this one would have a sad ending cause the synopsis itself is a big spoiler, but I wasn't swayed from watching, I picked it up still. Why? Mainly because not all love lasts forever. And not all love gets a happy ending, or the forever after thing. There are love that you want to protect but couldn't. A love full of heartbreaks and sufferings. Not every love is all rosy. Love is accompanied with sadness, tears, heartbreaks, and separation. A love with regrets. There's that one person you wish to save but couldn't. That one person you'd sacrifice your life for in a heartbeat if sacrificing could bring the person back. That beloved you never want to get separated from. A beloved who bacame a memory. There's always that love. That beloved you can't help but miss as the day passes. That's the reality of life. Life is short. If there's one lesson I learnt from this drama, that'll be, "cherish the moment while it's last. More importantly, cherish the person you love while they're still around." Spend time with them, cuz you never know what will happen in the future. Don't leave regrets. Live your life spending time with the people you love. There's no eternity in this, life is but for a short while, so don't waste it. How long you live is not what matters, it's how well you live your life, spending time with your beloved, loved ones, and doing what you like that does. Regrets can be a very tormenting, so live your life without regrets.

The problem with Huo Zhan Bai is he puts others needs before his own happiness. He couldn't express his feelings, nor was he able to make too many happy memories with Xue Zi Ye. But then again, the time they spent together was fulfilling, they'll turn to memories to cherish forever. This is a sad romance that refects reality. I can't help but be reminded of "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi.

That said, Li Qin did her role as the cold Chief of the Apothecary Valley justice. The way she portrays emotions sometimes leaves me speechless. I've always known she's a great and versatile actress, still I can't help but be impressed by her acting skills everytime I watch her drama. Her acting moved me to tears in this one. Her facial expressions is spot on. She portrayed her role as the cold, aloof, yet kindhearted Xue Zi Ye wonderfully. Indeed, Li Qin doesn't disappoint.

And without excluding our selfless ML, Joseph Zeng. I enjoyed his performance in this one thoroughly. When he's pain, he acts it so well. I've seen him in a lot of dramas and have always been impressed by him. Snowy Night Timeless Love made me love him more. The way he acts when he's in pain left an impression on me. He also didn't disappoint me.

Not to mention the chemistry. There are no kisses like the other dramas I've watched, but the chemistry was there. The gazes, hugs, and their time together was enough to keep me going. If there's any complaints I have about this one, it's that Huo Zhan Bai never put his happiness first. It's looking for Mo's medicine today, and bringing justice to the Martial art world tomorrow. I didn't like this about him.

After much thought, I decided to give this a solid 9.5 for the lessons, the acting, and the chemistry of the leads.

Xue Zi Ye and Huo Zhan Bai's love will live on in my heart for a very, long, long time. I learnt a lot from their love. I can't help but love this drama because of how it reflects reality.💞

There are many controversies and mixed feelings on the ending, mainly because the ended was a sad one. And because Xue Zi Ye died in the end. But I loved it still, even though it's a sad ending, I learnt a lot. Snowy Night Timeless Love is beautifully written and executed. 💞 It's painful but I was still glad to see Xue Zi Ye die thinking of the one she loves.

Snowy Night Timeless Love is a drama that'll move you to tears. A drama about separation. A drama that moved me, even though it has its flaws. Don't miss it. However, make sure you have your tissues close by if you an empathetic person cuz this drama is emotional!

Alternate title: Lady Maeda's obsession.

Before I watched Gyeongseong Creature Season 2, my expectations was at its peak. Also, it's my most anticipated drama. As for Season 1, I didn't have high expectations for it, I only tuned in for Park Seo Jun and Han So Hee, but I was impressed with the first Season. As for this this one, which is also the Second Season of Gyeongseong Creature, I also loved it. If I were to compare it with Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 in terms of action, then I'd pick this one, it had more action scenes than the first season ever had.

Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 continues the story of Jang Tae San and Yoon Chae Ok as they give it their all to survive in a world that's has been polluted by Creatures created by humans because of their greed to rule it all, become invisible, unrivaled, and if possible, they want to gain Immorality. It's a bit different from Season 1. Why? Here's why; Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 was set in Gyeongseong, which used to be the capital of Joseon during the 1945s. However, Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 is set during the Present day Seoul (the new name of Gyeongseong).
The first episode of Season 2 showed Yun Chae Ok, who now possess the Najin that's passed on to her by her mother. Thus making her much more powerful than she ever was, she's basically no less than an immortal having lived for a century already without aging. Then we see Jang Tae San, who now goes by a different name, Jang Oh Jae. Jang Tae San/Jang Oh Jae has lost his memories of the past. In other words, he doesn't remember who he used to be, all he knows is that, he's the President of a Detective Agency. This two have been separated for decades.

This time, all their miseries and nightmares are all because of a woman's jealousy and obsession, "Lady Maeda." I've come to realize that a woman's jealousy and revenge can be horrifying. A man is ruthless, but I think a woman is much more ruthless. They say an obsessed and jealous woman can be worse than a beast, I agree with that. That's exactly what's showcased in this one. Because of Lady Maeda's obsession, she
begins a killing spree. I didn't know a woman could be this ruthless, cruel, and inhumane. That's why a woman mustn't be underestimated. A man is fierce, but a woman can be fiercer. Lady Maeda's love for Jang Tae San turned into obsession, that obsession turned into hate, and that hate eventually gave birth to revenge, and that unjustifiable revenge made Jang Tae San and everyone around him suffer. She wants him to be lonely with no one to turn to. She wants him to experience sadness all his life. She wants him to crawl back to him, begging for forgiveness. That's what she deemed as her way of getting back at him for betraying her. That said, Although Lady Maeda's role played by Claudia Kim was short, it's memorable. I've got to admit, she made the drama much more engaging than it ever was before her appearance. She almost stealed the show with her acting. I love her acting. "She's beauty and talent."

I've got to say I loved their reunion. Just like the first Season, or should I say it's a bit different? Anyway, just like the first Season, these two reunion came abound with a fist fight. I loved their reunion. When Yoon Chae Ok called his name, Jang Tae San, the way it echoed into his ears. The familiarity. And when She embraced him, and he just stood there like a frozen ice. I loved that scene. That reunion was epic.
I loved so many scenes in this drama that I can't mention them all, but I've got to say this one. That battle scene in EP 5, I loved it so, so much. The soundtrack, the OST, everything were excellent. My favourite OST is "Time by Baek A." What I loved most were Jang Tae San's words. Here's how it goes; "I was existing, but I wasn't living. I just wanted to see her again. I wanted to embrace her. I wanted to hold her in my arms. Even if it was just one more time. If it meant I could see you. If it meant I could touch you again." I loved those words. I almost cried while watching that scene.

Oh, the chemistry of Park Seo Jun and Han So Hee is overflowing in this one. Their gazes, their interaction, all of these were excellent. Park Seo Jun and Han So Hee performed exceptionally well in their respective roles as Jang Tae San and Yoon Chae Ok. Plus, their action scenes were exceptional and engaging, I couldn't stop watching. When I said "Season 2 outweigh Season 1 in terms of action, I wasn't lying, neither was that an exaggeration, it's the plain truth. All the casts performed exceptionally well in their respective roles.

Although Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 had almost everything. It's still lacking in some aspects. The flashbacks were there, but they weren't explored enough. For one, how Jang Tae San's Najin was removed from his body. How he was able to harness his power to such an extent where he could control it. Also, how he lived his life all these years. There are many more, that's just to mention a few of them. I'd have love to give this a full 10, or even a 9.5, but with all the backstory on the leads character development that were not explored well enough. Also, the ending was not detailed. After a long and hard battle for survival, we see Yoon Chae Ok who doesn't remember who she used to be, now a college student, and as she was on her way, she saw Jang Tae San a few meters away. The two saw each other a few meters away. There's no explanation on how Yoon Chae Ok survived, how she became a college student. Whether Jang Tae San still remembers or not. Nothing. The romance is 10/10, action scenes also 10/10, but I just can't give it more than a 9. Will I recommend this? Most definitely. It's a drama that's worth every hour, minute, and seconds of anyone's time. If you're an empathetic person, get your tissues ready, this one is a bit emotional.

Life, all about choices.

Three cities, Yunpei, Tiandu, and Masui reign over the vast desert. Among the listed cities, Yunpei and Tiandu are the ones with strong armies and massive landscapes. Masui is weaker when compared to the other two cities (Tiandu and Yunpei). Princess Huang Bei Shuang of a fallen clan, beautiful, elegant, yet tactical, and skillful gets entangled with three influential men and in the struggle for power. Huang Bei Shuang decides to go against it all, and set a new record if possible.
In this journey, Huang Bei Shuang meets Huo Qing Yu, they hit it off, and eventually fall in love.

I've got a lot to say about this drama, both the positive sides and the negative sides, but I'll analyze the positive ones first.

POSITIVE
The first episode of Love in the Desert captivated me. Why? There I saw a strong, brave, determined, intelligent, and one of a kind FL. A woman who seeks survival in a cruel world. A woman who wants to make a name for herself in the merciless desert ruled by men. The FL impressed me right from the first episode. After that Huo Qing Yu came into the picture. I saw a kind ML. A man who's willing to feed his horse the water he has left. A man who care for his horse more than he does himself. I said to myself, "a smart and strong FL and a strong and kind ML. Yes, this is the type of the leads I always want to see when watching a drama." These two captivated right from the first two episodes.

A woman can't, shouldn't, and mustn't have aspirations, says who? If a man can do it, why can't a woman? This drama showcase the strong will of Huang Bei Shuang. A woman who wants revenge for the murder of her parents.

"In the desert and under the sky, people live. What if life is a pain? What if life is vigorous? I pick my own path. Since I choose to be this lady. I have to fulfill my responsibility." (Huang Bei Shuang's words). There and then, I knew this drama is about humans choices, sticking with them and staying true to your choice.

If there's one lesson I learnt from this drama, that'll be, "life is all about choices." Some choose power over love. Some choose love over power. Some decides to stick by their principles even if it means they have to die to stick by them, they do it anyway. While some betray their principles for survival. Some decide to die to save their loved ones, while some would rather sacrificed their loved ones to survive. Different stands, different decisions, and different choices.

In Bei Shuang's case, she chose a new identity, a perilous journey to fulfill her dreams, her aspiration, and to get revenge on the killers of her parents. She could have chosen to be on the run, or a much easier life, but she decided to choose a roughy path, a path where survival is uncertain. A path where most women fails. Yes, that's who our FL is, a woman of aspirations and determinations. I love her strong and resilient character.

Bei Shuang and Qing Yu with the wind, moon, and the universe as their witnesses got married. That's another choice yet again.

Hankiz Omar really did her character justice. I've only watched few of her dramas, but I've never really been so captivated by her acting, until now. Her facial expressions, the way she carries herself, I just love her acting. She's elegant, graceful, talented, and beautiful. She portrayed her role as the decisive, tactical, strong, intelligent, brave, yet kind Huang Bei Shuang excellently. And I'm not exaggerating about how good her acting is, she's really good. She deserves each and every praises I'm giving her. She's indeed a rare talent. A diamond among stones.

Allen Fang. What can I say? I've always been impressed by him since I saw him onscreen. He impressed me in so many dramas. I loved his role in The Long Ballad, and A Journey To Love, but that's just to mention a few. I loved him so many more dramas. I was impressed yet again with his role as Huo Qing Yu in Love in the Desert. One of the main reasons I watched this one in the first place is because of Allen Fang cuz he's one of my favorites. Indeed, I made the right choice of picking this drama up. He slayed his role yet again in this one. He added to the list of his dramas that left an impression on me.

Needless I say, I love the chemistry of our first couple💞. Their chemistry is natural, unique, and amazing. Their interaction and lovely moments are the true description of love. Yes,their path is not all rosy, neither was it smooth either, but they overcomed it together, hand in hand, in harmony. They overcomed many adversities together. They went through life and death together. Such devoted and strong love mustn't go unmentioned. A pure love.

Not to mention, Love in the Desert's beautiful OSTs. I love the OSTs. Here's the lists
1) Desert wind Chant/ Give me God's wings to conquer the distance by Jess Lee
2) Kiss by Zhang Wei
3) Ask by Jess Lee
4) Recall by Zhang Yu
5) Shadow by Allen Fang
Among all the listed OSTs, the one which I loved the most is "Give me God's Wings to Conquer the Distance." Why? Because I also need God's wings to conquer that distance.
I also loved Shadow by Allen Fang. All the OSTs are emotional and beautiful. I loved them!

NEGATIVE

Allen Fang has multiple identities, but his story wasn't explored enough. Where's the backstory? Where's our ML's screentime? His screentime is too little for a ML with multiple identities. How he became Huo Qing Yu from Na Yan Xing, how he became a powerful northern lord, all these weren't explored well enough.

Also, I hate to say this, but the SML got too much screentime than he's supposed to get. EP 21, 23, and 25 were like the SML episodes. In some of the listed episodes I hardly saw the ML appear. That really got on my nerves.

There's also the messy plot. The plot was all over the place in this one. Little backstory, little clarifications. It became frustrating at some points.

Ending explained
Towards the end, Huang Bei Shuang finally got her revenge on her father's killer "Ge'er Jiqin." Two stabs, then finally, a slit to the throat. Wow, how ruthless. Ruo Wen died 💔 Huang Bei and Ge Xin Wei stabbed Na Zhan decisively and brilliantly. Really, I love that scene, he thought he's facing two weak ladies, little did he know he's facing intelligent women. They cut him off guard. Huang Bei Shuang broke her flute into two and stabbed Na Zhan with it, while Ge Xin Wei used Ruo Wen's sword. I really love that scene, Huang Bei Shuang always doing the unthinkable. A woman who accomplished the task of a man. I just can't help but be impressed by her. And for once, I admired Ge Xin Wei. Finally, the desert is at peace with Huo Qing Yu as its ruler. A benevolent and righteous ruler is what a nation needs to prosper, don't you agree? Our main couple lived happily ever after, realizing their dreams, and helping out the weak tribes of the desert. That's a fulfilling life, isn't it? I loved how they accomplished all these hand in hand, it's really great to see.

In conclusion, I enjoyed Love in the Desert thoroughly despite the negatives, I loved it still. I didn't fast forward any part, even though I found the second couple annoying most times, I watch every minute of it and enjoyed it. This drama has its flaws, but it's definitely worthwhile. It's a drama I'd recommend. This is a solid 9/10 for me.
Also, don't let the negative comments sway you from watching this, it's actually a great drama. Love in the Desert delivered in so many aspects. So don't be deceived, this is a worthwhile drama. Hankiz Omar and Allen Fang slayed their roles. Same goes for the second leads, too.

A Battle Against Fate - A Subtle and Tactical Queen. Be the chess player, not the chess piece.

NOTICE; My review is kinda long, bear with me. Also, what's written below encompass my opinions, you don't have to agree with them.

A woman can't become an official, a woman must be submissive, a woman has to be obedient, a woman is a subordinate. All those are bull crap.
Queen Woo is about a woman/queen who didn't succumb to her own fate, a queen who battles against fate itself to survive. A woman mustn't be allowed to rule a nation, says who? If a man can, there's no reason a woman can't.
---------------------
SUMMARY
---------------------
Queen Woo tells the story of a woman "Woo Hui" who battles against her own fate, struggles to survive after the untimely death of her husband "Go Nam Mu." She has to make a choice. It's either she chooses to live in hiding, or choose levirate marriage. If she chooses the latter, the king's enemies who has been wanting to kill the king will pounce on her. If she choose the second option, she will survive, but she has to accomplish the task in a day (24 hours). Also, she has to choose one of the king's brother to marry, but the other power hungry princes won't just stand by, will they? She will have to travel to meet the prince of her choice, but her journey is going to be the roughest, full of dangers and many adversities. There are powerful officials, tribes, and clan who wants a share of the royal power, people who can't wait to tear her apart. The questions is; Can she do it? Her choice isn't exactly the safest, it's the most dangerous. The king is dead, with the queen at the center, an epic battle for supremacy, one who holds the sovereign authority of Goguryeo begins.

Queen Woo is set in the Goguryeo Dynasty. After two weeks, the 8 episodes has finally come to a close. Actually, I watched this the second day after the first four episodes aired. Before I did, I saw many negative comments about the nudity and all, but I wasn't swayed. Why? It's simple, it's because I'm a fan of political dramas. The political genre was what inspired me to watch this. After all, "Queen Woo" is one of my most anticipated political drama. And the political intrigue sure is there. I'm glad I ignored the comment, and watched this.

Queen Woo is a political drama that depicts human greed, desire, ambition, lust etc. You know the saying, "Kinship is nothing in front of power"? Yes, this is it. The eight episodes were well worth it.
In those episodes, I witnessed brothers turn against each other, sisters betrayed each other, loyal vassals became betrayals, family turned against each other. Yes, this is what a political drama is all about. And I witnessed an exceptionally strong and skilled queen. One who went against all odds to gain a hold of her own fate. A woman who's no different than a man. A woman who's a lot more skilled than most men rise to power.

As for the nudity, here's what I've got to say, "just look the other way. And if it bothers you too much, just skip those part and enjoy the show. Besides, it's rated 19+ for a reason. I saw some comments stating that kdrama is an holy land. Is it really? A drama rated 19+ is not what I'd refer to as holy. It doesn't matter whether it has nudity or not, the fact still remains "it's not for everyone." Well, those drama that are rated 15+ might be considered holy, but once you see a 19+ drama, don't expect anything holy to come out of it. By any chance, if you expect something holy from a drama that's rated 19+, then you're living in a fantasy, not reality.

Jeon Jong Seo portrayal as Queen Woo/Woo Hui was wonderful. I've never seen her in an historical drama before, this is the first time I'm seeing her in a historical drama. And for her first role as a strong woman in a historical drama, I never thought she could pull that role off, but she actually did. And excellently.

SCENES I LIKED

Firstly, I'll start with Queen Woo's entrance to the imperial court. As she entered, two old geezers didn't want to kneel before her, but she ordered them to kneel and show her the respect she deserves. Then and There, I knew she's someone not to be triffled with.

Another is the scene when she visited the third prince at his fief. The first thing she saw were the hanged innocent citizens who were killed by the third prince, there was blood dripping all over. And as if that wasn't enough, she saw how Go Bal Gi, the third prince slaughters humans as if they're animals, he also ordered his soldiers to throw them into the water. As a watcher, my soul almost jumped out of my skin, I got chills all over. However, she was able to face the Go Bal Gi without showing her fears even after she saw all that. Plus, she asked the third prince this question; "Can you tell me what His Majesty did to the Crown Prince?" One of Go Bal Gi aide replied with this answer, "His Majesty unable to kill his own brother, severed his nose as punishment." And at that moment I could see the fear in Go Bal Gi's eyes. Woo Hui instilled fear into the third prince, when she herself was hiding her fear. Such a rear quality. She's able to think straight even though she's faced with a beast like person. Few can achieve that. It matches what's written in the art of war, "March swiftly to the place where you're not expected. Conceal your dispositions, and you will be safe from the prying of the subtlest spies, from the machinations of the wisest brains." She achieved two things with those words. She was able to hide her fear, also, she's able to conceal the death of the king from the third prince. The fact that she was able to kill two birds with a stone amazed me.

"A person like the third prince can't be given power." I love that sentence. Even though she's caught between a rock and a hard place, she's able to make the right choice by not choosing a beast to rule Goguryeo. The third prince was her best choice cuz he was the second in line to the throne should the king pass away without an heir. However, she went against the flow and decided not to hand over the sovereign authority of Goguryeo over to a monster. Her actions proves that "Desperation doesn't mean Impulsiveness." I love that about her. Such subtleness!

There's also the scene where she ordered the head of the Wangdang "Mu Gol" to head to the fourth prince fief, that she's chosen the fourth prince. I never expected that. She's able to calculate her moves during the most dangerous times, I love that about her. Indeed, she's not only skilled in swordsmanship and archery, but she also possess what makes a great commander "tactics."

When she's shooting arrows at the White Tigers, for a moment there, I thought I was seeing the second version of the founder of Goguryeo "Jumong/Chu Mo." I've got to admit, her archery skills were top notch.

"I'll no longer be a chess piece." That's one of my favourite part of the drama. My favourite part is when Woo Hui said this, "However, there's no war we can't win. And I must win." She possess the skills of a skilled commander, she makes the least expected moves I love that about her.
This is from the art of war; The skillful tactician may be likened to the SHUAI-JAN. Strike at its head, and you will be attacked by its tail; strike at its tail, and you will be attacked by its head; strike at its middle, and you will be attacked by both its head and tail. This is what Queen Woo is like. I love her character.

SCENES WHICH I FOUND UNNECESSARY

When the King took the advice of Eul Pal So (Prime Minister) to have nude women in his chambers while he's being treated, plus, that he should show that to the queen. How the king took such advice without hesitation amazed me. I mean, Go Nam Mu is no dimwit. He's a skilled tactician, a skilled warrior, but how could he take such a advice when he knows it does him, nor the queen any good? Sure, he was told distancing himself from the queen would protect her, but did it? It didn't. Plus, there's this scene were the great shaman "Sa Bi" was praying, that nude scene was unnecessary.

Ending explained
After a long journey full of adversities, Queen Woo finally returns to the palace with the fourth prince. The final battle ensues. Go Bal Gi allied with the defeated crown prince to take over the throne. Queen Woo gained the support of the fifth prince and two tribes out of five tribes. The misery behind the king's death is finally unraveled. Eul Pal So source of origin and his original purpose is finally revealed. With Queen Woo as the commander in chief, she puts on her armor to fight alongside their soldiers. She makes her speech to boost the morale of the soldiers. We could see the enemies soldiers outweighing the Queen's. Also, the broken sword of that was passed onto King Yu Ri by King Ju Mong is finally fixed. We see Woo Hui wielding the sword. Just as the epic battle was about to begin, the drama ended.

I'm giving an overall ratings of 9 mainly because of it's ending, the ending was very unsatisfactory. Many things were unexplained. For one, how the battle turned out should had been explained through subtitles, but it wasn't. I didn't like that about this drama. But then again, this is only the first season, I read that it's going to have a second season. I guess, all these questions will be answered when the second season finally airs.

What's made me rate this drama an overall rating of 9 are; Firstly, I love how the politics in this drama. Each episode felt like the end. In other words, each episode was climax. Secondly, I love how Jeon Jong Seo portrayed her role as Queen Woo/Woo Hui excellently. She gave off the vibe of a strong queen, a skilled warrior, and a tactician. I love that about this drama.

Thirdly, the action scenes. I love how the action scenes were well choreographed. I didn't know it'd have that much action, but it did. And I love that about it. Fourthly, the engaging plot. And Lastly, the fact that Goguryeo's founder was relevant throughout the show, even though some things were altered from what's originally written in the history.

The fact that this is a show about how a woman did the unthinkable, and went against the flow is what made me love this drama. Let's face reality, how many women were able to make history? The answer is obvious. So when I see, a drama about how a woman battle against all odds to gain power, I'm drawn to such a drama.

I also loved the acting of Ji Chang Wook. Even though it's my first time seeing him portrayed the role of a king, he pulled off his role excellently. Plus there's also Kim Mu Yeol, I love his portrayal as the mysterious Eul Pa So. Also, Jung Yoo Mi, she also nailed her role as Woo Soon. And Lee Soo Hyuk, as always, he nailed his villain role. Park Ji Wan also delivered in his role as the head of Wangdang "Mu Gol." Plus, all the casts delivered wonderfully in their respective roles.
Aside from the unnecessary scenes and the rushed ending, this is a worthwhile drama. If you're an adult, that is.

For those who want to watch for Ji Chang Wook, you're welcome. His character "Go Nam Mu" did die at episode 2, but he had screentime throughout the drama. Also, not every scene were in line with what's written in the history. History was altered in some part. Well then....

A Drama That Will Keep You Entertained Through and Through! A Satisfying Ending!

I just completed the first two episodes of "Red Swan", and I must say that I'm more than impressed. This drama has almost everything you would want to see in a drama, romance, action, justice, and revenge. The story is about Oh Wan Soo a top golfer who marries into a chaebol family and find herself in danger.
Kim Ha Neul and Rain as the leads are delivering an outstanding performance with their top tier acting. Their chemistry is firing as expected, their first encounter was also somewhat unique. The supporting roles also delivers wonderfully.

The plot is captivating and interesting. The screenwriter did an excellent job in writing such wonderful story. The first episode had me on the edge of my seat, I didn't even noticed that the the second episode was about to end, not up until the song for the closing theme was played.
What do I love about this drama? What I love about this drama is that it delivered. Precisely, the action, it exceeded expectations. The romance also, we are shown the leads chemistry right from the first two episodes.
"Red Swan" is a drama anyone wouldn't want to miss. Its a drama that'll keep you excited through and through, I assure you, you won't get bored, not even in the slightest way. I know it because that's how I felt while watching it.

EP 3-6; These four episodes turned out to be very interesting and captivating. To be honest, I'd put this drama on hold and it's been two weeks. Why? It's because I wanted to have more episodes to watch, rather than the two episodes each week. Finally, episode 5&6 aired yesterday, making it four episodes to watch.

Some comments were about "forced chemistry and the FL not being suitable for the ML", but I'm telling all those are not true. The chemistry is there, the leads chemistry is firing. As the drama progresses, it gets more interesting and better. So Ignore the low ratings, negative comments and reviews, and watch this drama. It's definitely a drama anyone wouldn't want to miss. It's a must watch, a drama that makes you glued to your screen. Yes, it's that good! I gave this a 9 previously, but upon completing those four episodes, I'm increasing my ratings to 9.5 as those four episodes exceeded my expectations. Join me in this journey of "Red Swan" and watch how Oh Wan Soo and her bodyguard "Seo Do Yoon" overcomes adversities, punish evil, get justice, and finally get together. Yes, the romance has started blooming! I'm excited for what's to come next!

Ending
What can I say? "Red Swan has finally come to a conclusion. Although the ending isn't what I anticipated, nor was it what I expected, but it's still satisfying.
Red Swan is a drama that tells audiences and the world that justice will always prevail.
"What is justice?", that's often the question twisted people who are rich will ask. "I'm above the law. I'm untouchable. I'm dignified." That's how twisted rich people think. What I like about this drama is that, all those who think they can get away with their filthy acts, were punished in the end, by the law. While "Red Swan's" ending is not the best, the ending is still a happy. All the characters played there respective roles excellently.

Speaking of characters acting, I've got to hand it to Rain for displaying what I'd call exceptional acting. He slayed his role as a former police officer, and as a bodyguard. To be honest, this is my first time watching him in a drama. I must say, I'm more than impressed with his acting. His action scenes kept me glued to my screen. There's also Kim Ha Neul who's an actress I'm familiar with.

Ignore The Negative Comments;
There are comments stating how Kim Ha Neul always have the same facial expression. But if you're to ask me, she portrayed her role as Oh Wan Soo perfectly.
Oh Wan Soo is someone who couldn't trust anyone, not even her husband. The family she married into turned her into a doubtful person. She used to be a trusting person, but that was before her son's death. Her husband is unfaithful to her, he goes around sleeping with other women. Her mother-in-law is the the craziest I've seen. The same goes for her brother in law. Everyone in that family treated her as their competition and rival, except her husband. And even though Kim Young Guk didn't treat her as a competition, he wasn't loyal either. To be put bluntly, he's more of his mother's puppet than a husband. So, in such an environment, if she's still laughing and smiling, then wouldn't that be strange? Hence, her environment turned her into a cold person, someone who usually wears the same facial expression, except for when she needs to put on an act in front of a camera, that is. She's like that till Seo Do Yoon came into her life. In my opinion, her facial expressions are spot on, it matches the character she portrayed in "Red Swan". So, ignore the negative comments about the FL, and watch with an open mind, then, make your judgment based on what you see.

In conclusion, "Red Swan" is a drama that explores human greed and lust. It's a drama that explores love, hate, infidelity, revenge, and justice. So, don't miss out on this drama that's packed with action, mystery, thriller, and romance. It also has beautiful OSTs. "Red Swan" is a drama worth your time. I know it because, it was worth mine.

Have You Ever Thought of Going Against The Flow? Have you Ever Thought of Making The World Better?

"Joy of Life" Season 2 picked up from where season 1 left off. It continued with the life of Fan Xian, and how he climbs higher as an official and gained a strong foothold in court. Fairness, Justice, Principles, those are the things I like about Fan Xian. While Fan Xian is an official with high ambitions, he's different. Why? Other officials are willing. No, Many Officials will willingly step on hundreds, even thousands of innocent lives and common people so they could climb higher, to wield more power. Fan Xian on the other hand, wants power so he can protect his family, loved ones, and innocent lives. I love his character because he's both righteous and humane. He's someone who wants to put an end to evil and corruption, and right the wrongs that has become the norms in the imperial court.

Can Fan Xian achieve fairness without offending many powerful officials, and even the power hungry Imperial Princes? Or can he go against the flow, set a change, making the world a better place, with less evil without facing dangers? Of course not. But that's what makes the story more interesting. In this path Fan Xian has chosen, it's a path full of perils and dangers. A path where his enemies outweigh his allies. Many people will plot and scheme against him, some will even try to kill him, that's certain. However, Fan Xian is someone who's tactical, intelligent, and scheming, so even though his path is full of adversities, he's bound to overcome them with his intelligence. After all, though his enemies outweigh his allies, he's not without support.

To be honest, I don't know how Fan Xian was portrayed in the novel, but I would say I loved his character in the drama more. He does not only care for all human lives, he's also a faithful man. He's faithful to his feelings for Lin Wan'er. What do I love about "Joy of Life"? What I love about this "masterpiece" is not just because the ML is strong and intelligent, it's far from that. I love this drama because aside from the excellent portrayal of scheming in the imperial court (politics), all the characters acting were top notch. It also has strong character development, plus, the stunning cinematography that mustn't go unmentioned. It's wuxia genre is also a great bonus to the show.

Is this a drama that's to everyone's liking? Most definitely! Is this a drama worth the try for potential watchers who are not familiar with the plot? Of course, trying a new genre through Joy of Life will definitely make you love the genre, even if you're unfamiliar with it.
In short, "Joy of Life" Season 2 is a must watch for everyone and anyone who wants a drama with substance! As 'Joy of Life" season 2 has concluded with another cliffhanger, I hope Season 3, which will also be it's last season, the final conclusion of this wonderful drama, a drama that explores both good and evil, will be as tentative as the second and first season.
Can't wait to see how Fan Xian cleanse the imperial court in the last season, season 3, which their aren't much information about. But I'm hopeful it won't keep us waiting for too long.
Note; I have edited my review upon rewatching this drama, so for people who have read my review before, this is a new review that I wrote after rewatching this drama. After much thinking, I think this one suits this drama better.

Captivating premiere, Realistic education plot. Plus, heartwarming romance!!

The midnight romance in hagwon is captivating, the school and academy setting made it more interesting. And that's not all, the argument of seo hye jin and the school teacher on the multiple choice question made it more realistic.

There are many teachers out there who simply can't accept they made a mistake, especially when that mistake is being pointed out by an academy teacher or a student. When students tells some teachers about a question having more than an answer in the options given, they'll refute them by saying "I've already told you this is the only answer for the question". And they'd be more infuriated should the student mention that his/her academy instructor proved her right.
Humans learn from their mistakes, but some believe their mistakes should be covered just because they feel their pride would be hurt. And that's exactly what this teacher tried to do.

And honestly, school teachers and academy instructors perform the same duties but in different manners, I guess. school teachers teaches according to the national curriculum while academy teachers teaches a bit beyond curriculums. But all in all, both of them teach and impact knowledge, isn't it?

This drama is indeed very promising, with excellently executed plots. I'm excited to see more captivating episodes to come!!!

The romance between the two leads is both heartwarming and believable. The chemistry between the actors is undeniable, and their interactions are both funny and touching.

The writing is sharp and witty, with a good balance of humor and pathos. The dialogue is natural and believable, and the characters' emotions are conveyed with authenticity.

The acting is superb, with all three leads delivering nuanced and emotionally resonant performances. The actors bring the characters to life and make them feel like real people.

Finally, it picked up when it reached episode 12. What can I say? I've got to say I love how mature the relationship of both leads are. They understands each other. Although I think the story could have been summarized with 12 episodes, rather than the 16. Besides that, it's still a good watch. It's a mature drama I'd recommend.

An Extremely Fun Ride.

NOTICE; My review is a bit long, bear with me. What's written below are my thoughts and opinions.

To be honest, I only added "No Gain, No Love" to my watchlist because of the FL "Shin Min Ah". I've watched many of her dramas, and each time I do, she always impressed me. Hence, I decided to give this one a try, which I'm glad I did. For a drama I didn't have high expectations for, the premise was really great.

Synopsis;
"No Gain, No Love" tells the story of Son Hae Young, someone who hates loosing money. In other words, she doesn't like what she can't gain from. As a child, she had to share her mother's love with countless kids, which she didn't like. She felt her mother prioritized other people more than she cared about her. Now, Hae Young is an adult who works at a company. She wants to get a promotion and also get back the money she donated at her ex's marriage. But all this comes down to one answer, "Marriage." One of the requirements for her to get a promotion at work is marriage, the former is also marriage. And thus, that's where Kim Ji Uk who works as a cashier at a convenience store comes in. To many Kim Ji Uk is known by two names, "an Angel and Living Buddha". He was given that name because he helps almost everyone. But the only one he didn't quite get along with is Son Hae Young.

Thoughts.
The drama kicked off very nicely. I laughed upon watching the first episode. When Son Hae Young was at a wedding ceremony of one of her colleagues, the way she's thinking of the amount to donate, that scene was so damn funny. Another one is when she said this to Kim Ji Uk, "what about our baby?" I laughed so hard. I almost choked on my food. That said, I've got to say this before I continue this review; Don't eat anything when you're watching this, you might choke on your food.

I loved so many scenes that I can't even begin to describe. There's this scene of Bok Gyu Hyun when he wanted to carry Nam Ja Yeon to the hospital, that scene was damn funny. How can a drama be this good? Another one is when Son Hae Young married Kim Ji Uk, and they had to attend a dinner, Kim Ji Uk drank a bit of alcohol, he's tipsy because of that. Son Hae Young also was drunk, the same goes for Ahn Woo Jae. Strangely, the next day, they met themselves on the same bed, that scene was hilarious. To be honest, I spit my drink on my laptopupon watching that scene. Don't get me wrong, nothing happened between those three, they only slept, but the awkwardness, I just can't seem to forget the way I laughed my heart out upon watching that scene.

There's this scene, I think it happened when I watching Episode 11. Yeah it's that episode. Nam Ja Yeon crazy father broke into the house, and almost killed her, just as he was abusing her, Bok Gyu Hyun arrived. The way he's attacking him with those things (sex toys), those moves, those lights, I laughed, laughed, and laughed again. I was only able to stop laughing when I noticed that my heart was hurting a little. There are emotional moments, but the funny moments outweigh the emotional ones greatly. I love this drama. I'll stop at those funny scenes and leave you to find out the rest when you watch this. Also I've got to add the chemistry Kim Young Dae had with his dad's secretary. I don't know what to say. Their interaction were just so funny. Loved this drama!

I've got to comment on the acting. The acting was superb, phenomenal, excellent, and iconic.
Shin Min Ah portrayal as Son Hae Young was beautiful. Actually, I tunned in mainly for her cause I love most of her works. She always delivers in whatever roles she plays. Whether it's comedy, or not, as long as you see Shin Min Ah as the FL, you shouldn't doubt it. Peradventure, even if the drama turns out to be a disappointment, it's because of the bad script. Her role as Son Hae Young made me love her a whole lot more. Now I can say this, Shin Min Ah is born to act Rom-Coms, she's a natural, a great actress.

Kim Young Dae portrayal as Kim Ji Uk. Honestly, I didn't know I could love his role so. I've watched quite a number of his dramas, dramas like Moon in the Day and The Forbidden Marriage, but I wasn't impressed. His character in those dramas felt repulsive, I didn't like his role in any of those dramas. However, when I was watching No Gain, No Love, I got this feeling I never had while watching his previous dramas, the feeling of excitement. He portrayed his role as Kim Ji Uk excellently. I guess that's why they say, "humans are full of surprises."

The chemistry of the First couple, Shin Min Ah as Son Hae Young and Kim Young Dae as Kim Ji Uk is insane. Forced chemistry, or forced interaction? I didn't see any of those. What I saw were natural, overflowing, and insane chemistry. The way these two look at each other is something else!!!

Lee Sang Yi portrayal as Bok Gyu Hyun, oh I damn love his acting. The way he portrayed a CEO is so damn charming. I've watched him Hometown Cha Cha, and I loved him there. But this one made me love him a whole lot more. Wow, what can I say? His acting was excellent. This my first time seeing him portray a CEO, and I love what I see. Words can't express how satisfied I was with his acting while watching this drama.

Han Ji Hyun portrayal as Nam Ja Yeon. I also loved her so much. She made the journey a whole lot fun. When she writes her adult romance novel, her vivid description, oh, I loved them. I've never seen her in a drama before. Perhaps maybe it's because I haven't watched anything of her yet. Now that I've got to see her acting first hand, I'm getting this feeling to watch her dramas cause I was really impressed. No, I'm impressed.

The Second Couple's, Lee Sang Yi and Han Ji Hyun's chemistry is electrifying. I've watched many Rom-Coms, but I've only come seen very few second couples of a drama have this much chemistry. Their interaction, the way the fell in love, it's crazy!!

I know the Synopsis described Son Hae Young as a very materialistic person, but that's not who she truly is. Yes, she does love money, but she values family more. Besides, who doesn't like money? I think the answer is simple, right? When she got married, on the outside, she did so because of the donation money, but her main reason is because she wanted to let her sick mother who ran a foster home previously meet all her foster children. Her wedding ceremony was like her mother's "first funeral."

In my opinion, Son Hae Young was right to feel neglected. I mean, what child wouldn't feel neglected when their parent put others first before them? It's a natural feeling. Parents are supposed to be there for their children, but Son Hae Young's mother wasn't there most of the time. No matter how you look at it, it's still not right. Yes, her mother loved her, I get that. But that doesn't change the fact that she didn't put her first, she prioritized others before her own child, and that hurt Son Hae Young pretty bad. However, I'm glad she turned out great nonetheless. How she was able to have such great relationship with her foster sisters, Nam Ja Yeon and Cha Hui Seong despite all that really impressed me. I love her character.

I've also got to say this. I love the relationship of Son Hae Young, Nam Ja Yeon, and Cha Hui Seong.Their relationship is closer than that of biological sisters. Even most blood sisters are not that close. But theirs is a relationship, a bond that's stronger than anything.

The reason I'm not giving this a complete 10 is because of the bad parenting. I mean, Kim Ji Uk's father couldn't even defend his son, even when he's the chairman of a conglomerate. It sucks. Anyway, I guess that's how some people are. But I just can't accept that. There's also his mother who neglected him and started a new family abroad, how could she bring abandon her child for so long without even visiting him? I don't understand. Anyway, I didn't allow it to spoil the fun watch, but I just had to retain the 0.5. You could say it's my way of venting.

Above all, I Ioved how the love of the first couple blossomed. Same goes for the Second couple too. I've got to commend all the cast for delivering exceptionally and excellently in their respective roles. The crews too. The director and writer of No Gain, No Love made the whole journey a whole lot fun. It's extremely worth the wait, the time invested into it wasn't a waste. I love that about this drama. I don't really have any complaints about this one, only praises, so I'll be giving this 9.5/10.
Without excluding the beautiful OST of this drama. I loved them.

In essence, No Gain, No Love is an extremely fun drama. A drama you wouldn't want to miss. A one in a million. This is a drama I'd recommend for you to watch without hesitating. Whether you're sad or not, just tune in and you'll forget about life's problem for a while. Enjoy the fun ride....

NOTE; This one is a new one. I mean, this review, I accidentally deleted the previous one when I wanted to edit it, so I had to write a new one.

Alluring premiere, well executed plot, a badass female lead plus, an happy ending

I've watched many historical cdramas, but lady revenger returns from the fire is quite different. And why? Because most of the historical dramas I've completed picked up from episode 2 or more. But this drama captivated me right from the first episode. And that's not all, each episodes keeps getting better.

I've only watched the first four episodes, and upon watching those episodes, there's only one thing I could say, which is 'this drama is interesting'.

Luo Ai lian 'the daughter of the luo family' changed her identity to shen dan qing 'the daughter of the shen family' with the help of shen zi shan in order to exact her revenge against those who tried to murder her. The plot itself is captivating!

I like to see a strong, decisive, and badass female lead, and this drama has all those.

Shen dan qing is indeed the lady revenger who returned from the fire. I love the way she isn't showing her stepmother, uncle, and evil sister 'luo shuang shuang' any mercy.
She's executing her plans of revenge quite well. Indeed, 'this is a well executed revenge drama'.

Next, I'd like to see whether xu cheng feng is going to help or hinder shen dan qing in her journey of revenge.

Just completed episode 9. This drama is indeed getting more interesting. Here I thought luo xue er was innocent, little did I know she's the devil incarnate. But it's a good thing that shen dan qing now knows that she has no allies in the luo family.

Updated
The ending was satisfying!! When I was watching episode 23, I thought it's going to be a sad ending. But it turned out unexpectedly great. Each character had their own difficulties and struggles.
Lady revenger returns from the fire is indeed a wonderful and must watch drama!

The universe is cruel

I signed up for a romantic comedy, but got something else. I was handed an emotional drama instead. However, it made me love Missing Crown Prince more. What inspired me about this drama is the overview stating how "Missing Crown Prince" is a romantic comedy about a crown prince who was kidnapped by the family of the girl he's supposed to marry. While on the run for their lives, romance blossom between the two. What actually got me to watch this drama is my curiosity. I was curious about how the story is going to unfold, about whether it's going to be the usual plot. More importantly, I was curious about SUHO's acting. I love his songs, he sings so well, so when I knew he acted in an historical drama, I wanted to see if he's also an excellent actor as he is a singer. And sure enough, I got my answer. I was utterly impressed by his acting.

"Missing Crown Prince" focus on love, fate, and the struggle that lover's face during the Joseon Dynasty. I only witness the comedy in the first five episodes of the drama, the remaining 15 episodes were full of emotions and politics. That's what I love about this drama. In this story, I couldn't really hate the villains, "Queen Dowager and Choi Sang Rok," upon learning of their past. Yes, I did hate those two in the begining, but upon the revelation of their backstory, I couldn't hate them, although I didn't approve of how they went about with their love. Yes, they deserve punishment for their evil ways, but if we look at it in another light, Choi Sang Rok and the Queen Dowager were just two innocent people who fell in love and wanted to be together, they weren't asking for much, they only wanted to spend their days together. However, their dream was shattered because of a greedy king who happened to be the grandfather of the Crown Prince, "Lee Gon." Fate was cruel to these two, it brought them together, it separated them, it also allowed them to meet again. It's also the same fate, that made Lee Gon the grandson of the late king who orchestrated the separation of two lovers to meet Choi Myung Yoon, the daughter of Choi Sang Rok. It's also that darn fate that made two brothers, Lee Gon and Do Sung fall for the same woman. Isn't it funny? I mean, how fate plays a cruel trick. That said, I loved the politics that went on in this drama, it's intriguing. The emotions as I watched two lovers, Lee Gon and Choi Myung Yoon face many dangers, make difficult choices, and overcome the many adversities that came their way made me love this drama more. Without forgetting the relationship of Lee Gon and Do Sung, I loved their close relationship. Yeah, they had their misunderstandings, but those misunderstandings ended up making their brotherly bond much stronger than it ever was. The romance in "Missing Crown Prince" is slow burn, but it's well worth it. I love the chemistry of Suho and Hong Ye Ji.

Ending
After much scheming, the final battle ensues. Now, Lee Gon is King. We see Choi Sang Rok and the Queen Dowager allying with disloyal officials of the court to overthrow the king, while crowning Do Sung king. In the end, their own scheme were used against them. In other words, they lost terribly. As the daughter of a sinner, Myung Yoon is relegated to a servant, Lee Gon continues to reign as king. During his short time as king, before he abdicated his throne to his brother, he eradicated "guilt by association." And thus, Myung Yoon was reinstated back to her noble status. Some are mad at the ending, but I'm not. Why? It's because we all have that choice to make, Lee Gon only chose what's most important to him which is a Myung Yoon. Yes, he could have made Myung Yoon his queen, but I guess he chose a simpler life, a life free from politics, scheming, and loneliness. To some, power is much more important than anything, while few would choose happiness/love over and again. I guess Lee Gon is among those few. I loved how this drama ended, the villains were punished accordingly, Lee Gon and Myung Yoon after going through so much finally got to be together. Plus, we see their beautiful child. Also, we see Lee Gon's Father, Step mother, brother, Myung Yoon, and others having a great time. In my opinion, the ending couldn't be much better.

I just can't help but add that, I got to witness one of the best acting in the industry from the casts. Especially Suho, Hong Ye Ji, Myung Se Bin, Kim Min Kyu, and Kim Joo Heon. I didn't know Suho's acting could be this captivating, his acting really left an impression on me. I don't know about others, but this is definitely one of the best historical drama of the year. A double digit.
We also got lovely and emotional OST by Suho, making it an added bonus to the show.

An Eloquent and Humane ML. A Sad Ending!

"Snowfall" is an enchanting drama that follows the life of a vampire who's over a century years old. A vampire who has been searching for his younger brother for more than a century. Shen Zhi Heng is a vampire who wants to become human, he's someone who consider his immortality as an illness, a disease. So, he wants to find his brother who is also a vampire, maybe he has a way to cure what he refers to as a disease. Aside from being a vampire, Shen Zhi Heng is also a media tycoon, he owns a media company (Haidong Daily). Haidong Daily is a media company that is impartial, it enlightens the people about what's going on in Haidong. While other companies are afraid of the development committee and doesn't dare to write anything about them, contradicting them. Haidong Daily is different, but it's the righteousness of Haidong Daily, or should I say Shen Zhi Heng's that led him to offending the Haidong Army and development committee?

Since they couldn't woo him to their side, they decided to kill him. But Shen Zhi Heng not being an ordinary person managed to survive. However, his life was hanging by a thread, so he hid in an an abandoned house. As fate would have it, A blind girl (Mi Lan) who wants to end her life because she's tired of living from her mother's abuses everyday ended up in that apartment. As she's about to end her life, she heard the voice of Shen Zhi Heng who wants to survive. One is being chased and wants to live, while the other wants to end her life because she's tired of living. When the two meet, Shen Zhi Heng asked her to save her, and live up until he was able to save him. Hearing this, Mi Lan who wanted to end her life somehow decided to stay alive. After that incident, their fate became more and more intertwined.

What I love about this drama is not just because it's a vampire story. I love the humane character of the ML and how eloquent he is. Although he isn't human, he hates killing. He doesn't kill unless he is backed into a corner. He has a human heart despite the fact that he's a vampire. "Killing is not my principle. If violence could solve problems, why would I stick to my principles?" That's who Shen Zhi Heng is. When he was asked this question, "You have so much power, you could have taken the opportunity and done as you wish. Why are you waiting patiently?" He answered with "I chose this path. I only have one principle in life. As a human, you can cultivate, or help others. You can be like water. Keeping your goodness in the darkest abyss, and you won't be blamed." That's just who Shen Zhi Heng is. I also loved how he described "Red". "Red is the passionate fire, warm light, boiling blood, desire, hope, and the color of growth." How can I not like such an eloquent ML who's the epitome of kindness? To be honest, Shen Zhi Heng, this character is the main reason I'm giving this drama this rating. But of course, I love the character of Mi Lan too. Although she's blind, she helped Shen Zhi Heng a lot. I love the care they have towards each other, or should I refer to it as "love"? Vengo Gao and Ouyang Nana, those two are indeed the right leads for this drama!

When I started this drama, I wasn't expecting romance, nor was I expecting much chemistry from the leads. However, surprisedly, Vengo Gao and Ouyang Nana had chemistry. Although it's not focused on romance, we still get a satisfying romance between the leads.
I won't say this is the best vampire drama there is, nor will I say this drama has no flaws. It has its flaws, and its ending is the perfect example of one of its flaws. However, there's no drama that's flawless, or perfect, is there? But, I can say this, Though the ending was very disappointing, "Snowfall" is still a captivating drama. Also, I'm not someone that looks for a flawless drama to watch, just as long as the acting is top tier and the story is captivating and engaging, I'll watch without having a second thought. Most importantly, as long as its qualities outweighs its flaws and the ending is a happy one, I'm satisfied. Though snowfall meets most of the requirements, but sadly, the ending isn't what I envisage.
Snowfall premise was alluring, but it's ending didn't meet my expectations.

Is this a drama I'd recommend? Of course, but I advice you not to judge the whole drama with its ending. Is this a drama that's worthwhile? Indeed, except the ending. "Snowfall is not what it seems, while watching this drama, you'll laugh and get sad. It's a drama that'll make you ride the waves of emotions.
In short, this is a drama that's worth your precious time. If not for the ending, this drama could have been a double digit drama for me. But it's not all bad. Hence, I decided to give it a rating of 8.5!

"Evil Always has its Retribution"!! A Drama about Justice. Happy Ending!!

This is already the third time I'm rewriting my review on this drama, I wrote one when I reached episode 20, but just wasn't satisfy with it, then I wrote another when I completed episode 40, but upon watching the extra episode of "The Double", I decided to rewrite it one last time.

"The Double" is a wonderfully written and executed drama. Its captivating plot shouldn't go unmentioned. Plus, "The Double" is a drama that proves, "evil will always have its retribution".

Xue Fang Fei was framed and killed by her husband "Shen Yu Rong, on the eldest princess order. Xue Fang Fei suffered such great injustice. Duke Su's (Xiao Heng) father was set up by eldest princess "Wanning" brother "king Cheng", thus, leading to his wrongful death. While they're doing all these despicable acts, they must have forgotten about retribution.

They've forgotten, but their victims still remembers. As heaven would have it, Xue Fang Fei was given a second chance with a new identity "Jiang Li". Thus, she embarked on the journey of justice with Xiao Heng. Those two, eventually maneuvered their way through many dangers and life threatening situations, and was finally able to seek justice.

What I loved the most about this drama is that, every evil doers and villain of this drama got their rightful punishments and retribution. Wanning was killed by the one man she loved "Shen Yu Rong" , it's indeed karma. Shen Yu Rong commited suicide when he lost terribly. With those two dead and maimed as traitors, Xue Fang Fei, now Jiang Li finally got her long awaited justice. King Cheng who betrayed his master, Xiao Heng's father finally got his retribution by dying at the hands of the son of the one he betrayed.
Ji Shu Ran who framed the real Jiang Li for matricide, killed her mother, also got her own retribution.

What I loved even more about "The Double" is the happy ending. Although many died, and many blood were spilled in the quest of justice, its pleasing to see Xiao Heng and Xue Fang Fei, now Jiang Li have a happy ending.
The screenwriters of this drama did an excellent job in penning this drama premise and ending so well. The directors also did a good job in directing the drama excellently.
'The Double" is undoubtedly, one of the best drama of all time, and one of my favorite drama.

Also, Xiao Heng and Xue Fang Fei/Jiang Li's chemistry was exploding. They sticked with each other through thick and thin without letting each other down.

Overall, "The Double" is a drama that's worth every hour, every minutes, and every seconds. It's a must watch for fans of historical drama. The cinematography, visuals, character development, and most importantly, the acting are top notch.
Its a drama I'd call a "Masterpiece".

A Couple Given a Second Chance to Correct Past Mistakes and Clear Misunderstandings.

Disclaimer; You don't have to agree with what's written below, it's just my opinion.

"The Princess Royal" is set during the era of the Xia dynasty. The nobles were in power. The emperor hates the noble families. Hence, The princess Royal "Li Rong" couldn't marry from any of the noble families. "The Princess Royal" tells the story of Li Rong and Pei Wen Xuan who married for political reasons. Li Rong married Pei Wen Xuan because he's not from a noble family, Pei Wen Xuan too did so too because of his political ambition. As time pass by, these two eventually ends up standing on two different sides. Li Rong became the leader of the nobles, while Pei Wen Xuan became the leader of the commoners. Year after year, the misunderstandings of this married couple made them grew much further and further away from each other. Li Rong as The Regent Princess Royal had the best interest of the nobles at heart, while Pei Wen Xuan as the Prime Minister had the best interest of the commoners. After 20 years, the misunderstandings eventually resulted in the death of these two. Through a strange phenomenon, these two travelled back in time, 20 years back in time, exactly to the time when they weren't married. And thus, a chance to correct their mistakes. Will these two be able to correct their mistakes and clear up their misunderstandings?

Their past life misunderstandings explained;
In the past Li Rong thought Pei Wen Xuan loved another while he was married to her, that's their first misunderstanding. The second one was that Li Rong thought Pei Wen Xuan poisoned her in their struggle for power that's their second misunderstanding.
I love how the two couple cleared one of their misunderstanding. During the first four episodes, when Li Rong asked Pei Wen Xuan why he killed her, he told her, he wasn't the one who poisoned her. There she knew that the one who actually poisoned her was someone else and not Pei Wen Xuan. I love how one of their misunderstandings was cleared up.
The second misunderstanding about their feelings was cleared up during the first half of the drama.

In the past, only the nobles are able to hold high positions in the court, while the commoners only held low positions. This is one of the main reason that led to Pei Wen Xuan and Li Rong's death. In the present life, Li Rong and Pei Wen Xuan decided to get married for the second time and reform the laws of the imperial court, allowing the commoners to hold high positions like the nobles. But a reform is never easy, they'd have to face many oppositions from high rankings court officials. But that's why it's also a political drama. Li Rong and Pei Wen Xuan will have to overcome the many adversities that comes their way while reforming the laws of Xia. I love the main couple, although, they weren't the best couple I've seen when watching a drama, they had a unique chemistry. Yes, Li Rong was unsure about her feelings, and that went on for quite some time, but she later came to realize that whether it's the past or the present, the only one she truly loved is Pei Wen Xuan.

I love the interaction of the two couples. Theirs is one of the best interaction I've seen when watching a drama. I particularly love the strong character of both Pei Wen Xuan and Li Rong. Zhao Jin Mai delivered in her role as the strong, scheming and intelligent princess "Li Rong" excellently, Zhang Ling He also delivered in his role as the strong, intelligent, and scheming Pei Wen Xuan very perfectly. I love how well this two planned their schemes. I love strong FL and ML when watching a drama, and this drama has that.

IGNORE THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS
There were comments stating Li Rong was pining for Su Rong Qing, even after learning he was the one who killed her in the past. Ignore those comments. It's not what it seems. Whether it's the past or the present, Li Rong loved Pei Wen Xuan. Li Rong grew up being thought that affection is but a fleeting cloud in the face of power. Also, she had trust issues. She grew up seeing her father growing weary of her mother. Furthermore, the emperor who is also her father always guards against her and her brother who is the crown prince because of their mother who's also the empress being one of the noble families, and the most powerful one at that (the Shangguan family). So, she's weary of being hurt and betrayed. She tries to convince herself that her feelings for Pei Wen Xuan wasn't real, but she eventually give in to her feelings for him. I love how she came to realize that Pei Wen Xuan is the only one she could trust whether it's the past or in the present.

Some said Li Rong was angry when she found out that Li Chen was the one who killed her in the past, but she wasn't that angry when she thought it's Su Rong Qing did it. Sometimes, being stabbed by your closest kin is much more painful than being stab by a friend. Who's Li Chen to Li Rong? He's her closest kin, the main reason she ventured into the political world was to make sure he ascends the throne without a hitch. But then she finds out he was responsible for her death? Who wouldn't be angry? In my opinion, it's a natural reaction.

There's also complaints about Su Rong Qing's screentime overshadowing Pei Wen Xuan's. But I'm telling you this, "it's a false alarm." During the first half of the drama, Su Rong Qing was almost irrelevant in the drama. He only started getting a noticable amount of screentime during the last ten episodes which I didn't have complaints about. After all, this is a political drama, and it's only natural for the villain to get some screentime which Su Rong Qing happens to be. Pei Wen Xuan has more screentime than Su Rong Qing, that's a fact.

I love how the schemes and how the politics was portrayed in this drama. The schemes were well executed. I particularly love our main couple, PeiRong. Zhang Ling He and Zhao Jin Mai chemistry is both unique and natural in this drama. Not to mention the beautiful OST. This drama delivered beautifully. As for me, I didn't have problems with Li Rong, and the negative comments didn't sway me because I only focused on the main couple "PeiRong".

Ending Explained.
I've watched quite a number of dramas which had sad endings, but this one is an exception. After much scheming, the final battle finally ensues. The battle for power, the one who climbs to the highest position possible. Pei Wen Xuan and Su Rong Qing had a final show down after their long standing grudge. Their swords clash, and Pei Wen Xuan won. Su Rong Qing burned himself to death while playing the Zhiter. Li Chen ascended the throne. Pei Wen Xuan and Li Rong finally made a reform and eliminated the corruption that has been the norms of the imperial court, now, the nobles and the commoners are able to be high ranking officials. In other words, the aspiration of Li Rong and Pei Wen Xuan of making the commoners and nobles equals finally was realized. Pei Wen Xuan became the highest ranked official once again, and LR became the Regent Princess Royal again, but they accomplished all these things side by side, hand in hand. In the past they achieved great things while standing on different sides, which eventually led to their doom, but in their present life, they accomplished far more greater things together, as loving couples.

I love how the villains were punished. I loved more how every character got to be with their beloved, in which all those couldn't be achieved in the past life. A special episode was released. There we see the two children's of Pei Wen Xuan and Li Rong, and their married life as couples. I don't know about others, but I enjoyed "The Princess Royal", and very thoroughly at that. It's a drama that kept me hooked from episode to episode. One of my best historical drama of the year.

In conclusion, I loved this drama not just because it's a political drama, it's more because of the main couple. I love their chemistry. "The Princess Royal" was worth my time. I didn't regret watching this, except for the wait when it's airing that is. If you're interested in watching it, I'll advice you to ignore the negative comments and watch with an open mind.

Realistic story, Realistic acting, Unbelievably and exceptionally good. Twisted ending.

Tender light is indeed the best mystery drama of 2024. When I started watching, I didn't know it would be such an interesting but heartbreaking drama. The way the story was depicted is awesome, and that's not all, it was directed and filmed excellently.
The acting and story were very realistic.
I've watched quite a number of mystery dramas. But tender light is just different.

The realistic acting and realistic story are what makes this drama different and unique.

Tender light is based on domestic violence, and society prejudice. And unfortunately, that's exactly the type of world we live in. Their are many women out there who suffers from domestic violence, specifically the abuses from their husbands.
Furthermore, the society, neighbors etc, people who knows nothing about that victim, will begin to judge her, speculate about how she must have cheated on her husband to deserve all kinds of violence from him. That's the kind of world we live in, its full of judgmental people. And that's exactly what tender light is all about.

Nan ya suffers from domestic violence from her husband, and there's the crooked judgmental society, passing inhumane comments on her when they know nothing about her. She's obviously the one suffering from the violence of her husband, but they just chose to ignore it, instead of helping her, all they did was judge her for being a flirt. It's indeed sad and unfortunate that that's the kind of world we live in, a world full of judgmental people.
But it's good to know that she has someone like zhou luo to help her.

I love this drama because it depicts the happenings of life, and more so because it shares light on what wives go through at the hands of their lunatic husbands.

-Edited
Just completed tender light, and I just had to edit my review cause the ending was a sad one. Nan ya didn't reunite with zhou luo even after the series made it known that her cas was rejudged. So I'd say the ending was twisted. But aside from the ending, it's a good drama to watch.

Excessive. Lacking. Draggy. A big disappointment.

NOTICE; MY REVIEW IS A BIT LONG, BEAR WITH ME. ALSO, I'M NOT HERE TO ARGUE WITH ANYONE, JUST STATING MY OPINION.

I won't bother on wasting anyone's time by stating the obvious about the overview. Obviously, it something everyone know. I'll only say so little about it. Love Next Door tells the story of the reunion of two childhood friends.

Love Next Door is one of my most anticipated drama of the year. Also, I had high expectations for this mainly because of the casts. Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, and Kim Ji Eun were the ones who got my hopes up. I've seen Jung Hae In in many dramas, and those dramas were interesting and engaging. Same goes for Jung So Min, I was utterly impressed with her role in Alchemy of Souls. There's also Kim Ji Eun, I loved her role as the cold, yet kindhearted woman in Branding in Seongsu. Just as I was anticipating these actors next project, the news of Love Next Door came along. Thus, I got my hopes up. When this finally aired, I was impressed with the premise, but only to be disappointed as the drama unfolds. Honestly, "disappointed" is not the right word for this, I'm "exasperated" about how this one turned out.

Yes, there are things I liked about this drama, but my dislikes outweighs my likes for this. But I think it'd be unfair to only list my dislikes, without saying a single thing about the ones I liked. To be fair, I'll list my likes and dislikes, even though I'm "fuming" over how this drama turned out. I'm not sure I have that much likes about this, but I'll list them before I mention how "discontented and enraged" I am with how what could have been, but turned out to be something else.

LIKES

The premise of this drama drew me in, the first episode was really great. It's like a unique start. The introduction of the characters also seemed great. During the premise, I got to withness the chemistry of the first leads, "Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu." I said to myself then, "this is going to be fun." From the premise, I got to see two friends who seemed like enemies meet again. Although all that is common when watching a drama, I still loved it regardless.

The flashbacks of when Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu were kids. How they grew up together, down to when they became high school teenagers. It's really nice to know their history, how they protected each other when they're kids. How they're there for each other during the happy moments, and of course, the sad ones too. It's really nice to watch their embarrassing moments which they'd rather forget when they're kids. I laughed upon some of those moments when they're kids. I mean, the funny ones.

Also, Jung Hae In and Jung So Min, their chemistry was really great during the first few episodes. I loved their interaction which seemed like bickerings. It's really great to see. From the first episode, to about the seventh one, they had this unique and nice chemistry. There were some scenes I love because of this two. For one, that pool scene.

Jung Mo Eum and Kang Dan Ho also made me laugh at some points. There's this scene when there's only a drink of a particular brand that remained, and it just so happens that these two have the same tastes. It's funny to see them quibbling on who touched that drink first. There's also another scene which I liked. It's when Mo Eum and Dan Ho were in the car and she told Dan ho her crush was "Mudflat Man." In that instant, she realized the shirt he wore was the same one her secret crush had on that day, even though she didn't catch a glimpse of his face. Then and there, she knew Dan Ho was Mudflat Man all along. The awkwardness.... That scene made me laugh.

Another thing I liked about this drama is when the misunderstanding of Seung Hyo's parents were cleared up. They finally reconciled after so long. I almost forgot, there's this scene when Seung Hyo was going to propose to Seok Ryu, but nothing was going his way. When he wanted to propose at a restaurant and was carrying a cake. However, that cake was crushed when he tripped and fell. That scene was so funny.

Ah, without excluding when Seok Ryu finally found her dream. It's good to see her dream after having searched for it for some time. In my opinion, a dream doesn't have to be something grand, or something big, just as you find happiness when pursuing it. That's all that matters. I loved it when she finally pursued her dream, even though her parents were against it at first. I also loved some scenes of the "Lavender" Sisters, formerly the "Suk" sisters.

I think that's all about it. All that'll follow is my "dissatisfactions". They'll sound harsh, but I just have to say it.

DISLIKES

The duration for the episodes is excessive. They went overboard with it. The first episode was around 66 - 67 minutes. It'd have been nice if they continued with that, but they just had to increase the duration. I started to see 80 minutes, then 90 minutes. 16 episodes is too long for such a plot and storyline as is. The least Netflix could have done to prevent audience from getting tired/bored of the drama, is to keep the episode duration at a maximum of nothing more than 60/65 minutes, but what did they do? Each episode's duration kept on increasing, till I almost got fed up. If you eat too much, you get indigestion. If you drink too much, you'll get a hangover. In other words, moderation is best. But in this one? I didn't see that moderation, all I saw were padded episodes.

LND lacks greatly as a Rom-Com. It's too overly dramatic. I watch Rom-Coms for two reason. One, for the comedic relief and laughter. Two, for the light-heartedness, but what did I get? A big disappointment. LND didn't feel like a Rom-Com most of the time, it's like a melodrama. Too much emotions. If I wanted an emotional drama, or a melodramatic one, I wouldn't have chosen a Rom-Com, I'd go for a melodrama. What's a Rom-Com? It's simple. A Rom-Com makes you laugh your heart out, it makes you forget about life's problem for a short while. The question is, did LND achieve that? I don't think so. The fact that LND was promoted as only a Rom-Com, without telling fans that's it's infact a melodrama infuriates me. What I saw was 75% melodrama and 25% comedy, and that really got on my nerves. It's just too emotional for a Rom-Com. If you want to watch LND because it's a Rom-Com, then I'd advice you to save yourself from it. Well, the first four episodes were funny, but after that? It's mostly full of melodramatic embellishments. I'm trying to be polite here by calling it just that.

And what's with the whole ex comeback trope? I know it's common in dramas, too common that it's become a cliché. But really, was that whole scenario necessary? Seung Hyo's ex wasn't annoying, she even tried to get him and Seok Ryu together. But Seok Ryu's ex? He's really annoying. For some reasons, he gets on my nerves. Do you know what makes it even more annoying? It's the fact that it took Seok Ryu almost forever to reject his advances, she's even giving him attention. Oh, I can't stand that. The more she gave him attention, the more hubristic he became. When she eventually set things straight between them, I felt it's too late. But it's better late than never. Still, there's no need to keep dragging out what could have been wrapped up in an episode or two.

There's also the romance. It fell flat for me. Yes, it's a slowburn, although it's not promoted as one. I've watched many slowburn romance, and they're not like this. It took forever for the romance to bloom in this one. I waited, waited, and waited again, untill I got tired of waiting. Just as I thought the romance was about to blossom, the whole cancer trope set in. Really? Is this the best Netflix could offer? They kept going around in circles regarding the romance. Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu finally got together at episode 11. I don't know whether it's because it took them a thousand years for their relationship to blossomed romantically, I'm not sure. However, when they finally got together, it's too late that I could no longer feel anything. Let me put it this way. It felt like an adult whom as a kid wanted a particular toy, but couldn't get it, till he became adult. As an adult, she's now in possession of the toy, do you think the toy would still hold the same value/meaning it held years back when she's a kid? I don't think so. By then, the toy would have lost its meaning. Well, it depends on the person. As for me, that's how I feel about the romance in this one. "Timing" is very important. But the romance here lacks proper timing.

And what's wrong with Seok Ryu? What's with the contradictory character? After all she went through while she's overseas, I can't believe she's still thinking about going back there to pursue her cooking career. Some people never learn, do they? I don't know if I should call her a goal getter, overly positive, or plain stupid. She said it herself that she doesn't want to go back, that she won't be going back, but she's going back on her word? After all the cancer, depression, I thought she wouldn't even think about working there ever again, but it appears it's all my wishful thinking. She says one thing, and does another. How contradictory!

When Mo Eum confessed her feelings to Dan Ho, she's rejected. He said words like, "No, we can't. Never." So I wanted to know why he rejected her, why he used those words. Because of a promise? Because of what happened to his family some years back? Till the end, there wasn't really any sort of clarification as regards to why he said that. Nothing. They've got to be kidding me. After all that, how could there be no clarification on that?

Also, what's with Seok Ryu's mother, Mi Suk? She's too immature. She nitpicks over the littlest things. I can't stand her character sometimes. First, it's when Seok Ryu returned, it's as if she's embarrassed to let people know she's her daughter. Two, she tried to get her daughter and her ex back together. And then, the way she treats her husband. There's also her inferiority complex. Throughout the drama, I've never seen her apologize to her husband. Not even once. I thought I'd be seeing some character development, but there's none. And that's really irritating.

I didn't want to say this, but I will. What's with Seok Ryu's English speaking? I mean, she lived in the States for over a decade. At the very least, her English should be fluent to a certain point, but it isn't. They should have dubbed her voice out or something. This a Netflix drama for Heaven's sake, so why did they hand us such low quality? I don't get it.

And there's also Seung Hyo's company, Atelierin. That place seem pretty deserted for a company. It's a company with two CEOs, so why are there only 4-5 employees? And to make it worse, it's a company that's been running for years, plus, it has won many awards. So it kept me wondering how they were able to do all that with just four employees when they're in the architectural industry. It just doesn't make sense. At least, if you're going to hand us a load of crap, make it believable. All the flaws of this drama doesn't make it seem like a Netflix drama, not one bit. With all the hype, is this the best they could give?

About the cancer trope. I'm not against it one bit. Why? It's because I tend to believe life come in pairs. I believe we have four seasons for a reason. Also, we all have that winter moments. After all, the reason why she decided to quit her job needs to be a valid one. Plus, the cancer clarified the question I had about why she decided to quit her job back in the states, and suddenly decided to return to her homeland, South Korea. But why? Why couldn't they just end all those emotional moments with an episode? Was an episode duration of over 80 minutes not enough for all that? Why did they have to drag it out? It's really annoying. I only wanted a clarification. Yes, I did get what I wanted, but did they have to go on and on till it got really frustrating and annoying? It just doesn't make sense. Just a mere waste of time.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I'm sorry, but I just can't bring myself to like something just because many loved it. I'm not the type who hypes a drama just because others are hyping it, it just doesn't make sense. If I'm disappointed, I'll say it. If I'm impressed, I'll say it. This is me. I can't call a disappointment, a masterpiece, or intriguing. Not my style. I know this is harsh, but this one is a big disappointment. I just have to say it. I'm enraged with how LND turned out. If LND wasn't my most anticipated drama of the year, I might have decided to cut it some slack. However, it is, so I can't. "To whom much is given, much is expected from". That's what I believe in, you see. The premise is unique and all that, but is it only the premise that makes a drama? The answer is "No". A premise of a drama can only do so much. A drama has to be engaging as it unfolds to be called "a true work of art". Unfortunately, I don't get that feeling from LND. Furthermore, I don't overlook a drama's flaw just because the leads are my favourites. I call it what it is regardless of how much I love the leads.

Did this have potential? Yes, it did. At least, that's what I thought, at some point.
The ending is great, but since it's all predictable, why drag it out? Why make it so frustrating? Why? Just why was a drama that could have been interesting, engaging, one of the best, turned into the frustration it became?

Is this the best Rom-Com of the year? Certainly not. Engaging? No, it isn't? Would I recommend this one? I won't. Is this worthwhile? It's not. Aside from the premise, and some lovely scenes, the rest is trash. LND fell flat as a Rom-Com. It lacks as a Rom-Com. This is not me "fuming," it's the harsh truth that some are ignoring and turning a blind eye to. I'll be the bad guy and call this one what it really is. Three words, "underwhelming, frustrating, and boring."

You can watch it if you're curious though. Who knows? Your opinion might differ from mine, you might actually love it. But as for me? I didn't like it, or shall I say I have mixed feelings?

LND was really great at the premise. Honestly. But what came after was unexpectedly lackluster.

My overall rating is 6.5/10, considering the fact that I enjoyed some parts of it. I'm not rating this any lower because of four reasons. One, the chemistry of the leads during the first five episodes. Two, their lovely moments. Three, because the leads looks cute. Four, the acting of Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, and the other two leads (Kim Ji Eun and Yun Ji On). If not for these four reasons, it deserves lower, considering all the trauma I went through while watching this one. In my opinion, 6.5/10 is still a fair rating, considering how lacking, disappointing, frustrating, and underwhelming this was.

SIDE NOTE;

I stop dropping comments, even though I was dissatisfied with how each episode was unfolding to avoid being called hateful, and all sorts of names for saying how I truly feel. Most importantly, I didn't want to spoil the fun for those who were enjoying the show. I didn't want to be a bummer. I even gave this review a second thought, but decide to write it cause I couldn't contain how I feel about it. So here I am....

Let's say you love a particular brand of drink. One day, you visit a convenience store and discover that only one of the brand remains, but it's past its expiration date. Would you still take it because it's your favorite? I won't.
What I'm trying to say in essence is, you can't force yourself to like something that's not good. That's it.
Well then...
Thanks for reading♡♡♡♡ And for those who want to watch regardless, hope you enjoy it all the same ♡♡♡♡
