Refreshing!

If you want something chill and refreshing, this is the series for you! If you want some drama then I would advise you to come back to it another time.
By now, you've probably read many reviews saying how nice and wonderful this drama is and in all honesty I wholly agree! Now I would advise, don't go into this expecting something phenomenal. It's not something new and never been done before and it certainly won't be the last. People who've read all the reviews and started watching it while riding the hype train will certainly feel very underwhelmed. This series isn't doing anything out of this world. Just take it as it is with the only expectation being that it has 'little to no drama' kinda mindset.
Now my personal reason for liking this series so much. I've watched a lot of drama in my life, more than I can remember to list them all on here, but this series was just nice. While being so unproblematic unlike real life, it was still so realistic. The plot is pretty mundane in that it's a slice-of-life romance series of a group of friends in high school, following their journey as they grow up. That's it. Nothing crazy. But what I love so much about it is that they take certain scenarios that you've probably seen countless times in other romance series and, wait for it... have the couples communicate!! Wild. But no, seriously. Nothing in this series will make you feel frustrated and make you want to rip your hair out. You can enjoy it for being unrealistically realistic while feeling happy inside thinking that somewhere in the world, there is a couple out there who is as much of a green flag as the couple in this "drama". It's a slice-of-life so you should definitely be aware that this series is not a minute by minute take on the character's life but rather the most eventful. It's not a deep dive into every conversation that they ever had so having mainly chill moments is also plausible. From watching this I certainly found myself kicking my feet a little at cute moments between the characters and felt like I really missed out on certain aspects of my own personal life. If anyone else here reads mangas, it really reminds me of one of my fav. also similarly chill/fluffy manga "RERE Hello". I felt like the cast all acted their part well and the comedy was casual but still funny. Overall, I just liked it because they did an already done trope well. Also, one gripe that I have about many drama is that they usually don't know how to end a series, one issue that this series didn't have problem with. I felt like they ended it at the perfect time and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who is tired of/or just wants a break from gut wrenching sad dramas. Take it as it is and just enjoy!

wholesome and pure the whole way thru q(≧▽≦q)

What I liked:

- For the 1st 3 eps the main couple's relationship seemed a lil unbalanced like their interactions seemed slightly one-sided (bc he barely talked lol hes a quiet boi uvu), but 4th ep onwards after we got to see a bit more of the main lead's perspective and home life i started to fall in love with them as a duo, hes so starved of positive interactions at home and shes so kind and supportive and wholesome towards him, i was like I SEE THE VISION hahaha 🥰🥰🥰
- The main friend group dynamics are amazing, wholesome and cute and funny af
- 2nd couple dynamics were super cute, bickering tease-ey friends to sloooowly something more😊
- Both of the main leads are equally down bad for each other, obv from the female lead's side bc she's so blatant about her simping hahah but as the show goes on we get more and more evidence he cares just as much it's rly cute. also they go on soooo many unofficial dates before theyve even gotten together it's fabulous haha
- 3rd male lead is a delight, v dorky v outgoing v good boi, he doesnt get a full time romantic partner (which the show pokes fun at in the final ep when his 2 pairs of friends are handholding on either side of him and hes like tf have i gotten myself into hahaha) but we do get a v touching backstory with him and his grandma which was so insanely wholesome man 😭😭😭everytime they wre on screen tgt i was just🥺🥺
- The show sidestepped a lot of annoying cliches which I wanna give it credit for - e.g., zero love triangles!!! one ep introduced a female primary school friend but she turned out to be super sweet and supportive of the main couple it was so cute lol. Overall, after getting together officially, both leads so quickly and efficiently shut down any potential suitors it's awesome and kinda hilarious in a meta way lol i love them sm (theyre just like miss me with that miscommunication angst😤😤). Mind you there was a short stretch in eps 15-16 where they werent talking to each for dumb reasons but it was the only time it happened and they are still obv high schoolers so i forgave em HAHA
- OST is insanely good. v chill, v poppy, fit the scenes so well. there were also some familiar soundbites from weightlifting fairy kim bok joo too hahaha which i adored (including the iconic "WHAT" lmaoo)



Nitpicks:

- Male lead's acting was a bit TOO reserved occasionally, obv it's his personality but yea could've used a few more words outta him at times lol, it's why i LOVED the final ep so much, showing him vlogging and sharing his thoughts it was so frickin wholesmoe i died😭😭 mind you as the show goes on esp as an adult he gets more spontaneous and open with his feelings which is perfectly believable so again it's just a minor nitpick
- 2nd couple could've used more screentime development together bc they were sooooooo cute tgt (esp showing the audience how her feelings towards him slowly changed like the show implied it mainly but just a few more lines of her thoughts would've done wonders imo - they did a great job on his end!)
- My girl gotta use her hands more when smooching 🤣



What I didn't like:

- Male lead's mom, legit wanted to slap her every time she came on screen 😭😭😭 EASILY the worst thing about the show. thankfully maybe the showrunners guessed how much the audience was gonna dislike her character as she straight up disappeared from the show after episode 15 LMAO good riddance 🥰🥰
- That's it honestly XD



Overall:

Super likeable show. Sweet af. Diabetes. Eps 19-20 and 23-24 were my favourites😊 8.5/10 for me. Def rewatching some eps when i need a pick-me-up and hunting down the OST on spotify☆*: .｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

Lindo demais

Gostei muitooo. Esse é aquele clássico dorama chinês que começa na escola e termina quando já estão adulto, do jeitinho que eu amo!
A hístoria é bem leve e simples, nada muito complicado, mas ainda sim muito linda. Com um romance leve, fofo e amoroso, o casal aconchegou meu coração.
O jeito que é contado tudo, as amizades que se formam, as dificuldades durante a juventude, achei tudo muito lindo.
Gostei bastante também das cenas com a vovó, simplesmente lindas demais!!
As gravações no final de cada ep perfeitas, sempre me tocavam o coração.
A atuação sem defeitos e os personagens maravilhosos. O protagonista masculino lindo, gentil, introvertido, carinhoso e o maior fiel a sua mulher. A protagonista feminina fofa, uma querida, amigável, generosa e animada. Me apaixonei demais por eles, e também pelos personagens secundários, foram todos muito queridos!

Recomendo muito pra quem quer ver um romance mais leve e fofo, sem muitos perrengues, mas só momentos reconfortantes.

overall very good but deducting 1 star for Su zaizai's clingy behaviour even in adulthood

When I Fly Towards You is a charming, youthful romance. The leads share a heartwarming, gentle chemistry. The supporting cast, including the friend group, adds richness to the story. The drama has a certain nostalgic charm.

While the drama’s slow pace allows for character development, it can feel overly drawn out at times. Some scenes linger a bit too long, making certain episodes feel sluggish, especially for viewers who prefer a faster progression. The storyline follows familiar tropes of high school romance. While the supporting characters add warmth to the series, they don’t experience much growth. Their storylines often take a backseat to the main couple, and they are used more for comic relief rather than being given deeper arcs. I wanted more of Gu Ran and Jiang Jia!!!

Fazia tempo que eu não assistia a um drama escolar chinês. Esse drama foi uma grata surpresa. A protagonista feminina tem sua fase "de perseguir" o protagonista masculino, mas não chega a se anular por causa dele. Achei ótimo que quando eles decidiram ir para a mesma faculdade, ela também procurou garantir outras opções e não depositou toda a esperança em ir com ele. E o protagonista masculino não era um babaca com ela, mesmo na fase "perseguidora" ele sempre a tratou com carinho. Os dois se apoiaram mutuamente e amadureceram juntos.

Os amigos também são todos uns queridos. Minha única queixa com relação a eles é que depois que entram na faculdade só assistimos a experiência dos protagonistas. Gostaria de ter visto o ponto de vista dos amigos também.

No geral um drama escolar de amadurecimento muito legal de acompanhar. Gostei e estou procurando outros parecidos para assistir.

Youth, my love

When I Fly Towards You has hit all the spots in my heart. The way it has green flag male lead and female lead. That is just amazing in itself and this is a youth drama that we are talking about.

First and foremost, the development of our leads love story is just majestic in the way it was written. It was like slow and steady, but not too slow or too fast. The little glimpse that they take on each other is just so cute. And did I mention how green flag both our leads are?!!! LIKE WHERE DO THESE EXIST? CAUSE CLEARLY NOT IN FKING AREA.

I am so happy to be able to watch this drama because it gives me the feels. The way our leads have such a healthy communication with each other. The way they treat each other with respect and love. No stupid misunderstanding troupe. Everything is solved whenever a misunderstanding is about to develop. No stupid and unnecessary break up. Like whoa, Chinese dramas did so well this time of the year.

Hidden Love, Exclusive Fairytale, and When I Fly Towards You, these are the holy trinity of the Chinese Youth Dramas of this year!

A juventude e o amor <3

Eu real não acredito que terminei, foi um tempo tão gostoso que passei com eles, tão divertido, me senti tão bem, tirava um tempinho do meu dia só pra vê-los e parece que tudo melhorava.
A despedida sempre é ruim e fiquei super emotiva com esse final. Tem algumas coisas que pra mim se tivessem acontecido teria ficado mil vezes melhor, tipo o fato da avó do Guan fang não aparecer mais, poderia ter tido uma cena dos cinco com ela já adultos e lembrando dos velhos tempos, meu casal gu ran e Jiang jia que poderia ter tido um pouco mais de cenas também, amo eles e até o guan fang rapaz de vela, o final os cinco de uniforme ia ter sido perfeito!!!! Mas eu amei tanto, a história deles é tão linda, eu amo a atriz que fez a su zaizai pra mim ela passa exatamente essa mesma energia, você automaticamente se sente energizado, eles tinham uma química incrível e era impossível não suspirar junto e o meu casal secundário nem se fala, fofos lindos e tudo de bom! Morri de ri com o gu ran e com o guan, a amizade desses cinco preciosa demais! Uma coisa que eu disse pra minha amiga que me lembrou foi de twenty five twenty one, pra quem viu esse drama é perfeito pra curar as feridas que deixou e apenas deixar uma cicatriz como quem diz "só vai ficar a lembrança de algo que passou e doeu" (mas em mim ainda dói)
Drama típico pra gente rever a qualquer momento e matar a saudade!

Todo o meu amor!

Um drama leve, que fala sobre juventude, amor e amizade. Esse grupo de amigos simplesmente ganhou o meu coração! A inocência e o amadurecimento retratado no cdrama é lindo de se ver.
Antes do amor, a amizade de Su Zaizai com o Lurang era linda, mesmo eles já nutrindo sentimentos românticos, sempre conseguiram se manter na mesma página, focando primeiro em terminar a escola. Su Zaizai é uma personagem cativante, fofa e divertida, já o Lurang é bem reservado, um fofo, mas queria que ele tivesse mais falas e mais cenas dele tomando iniciativa sobre o relacionamento deles, 80% das vezes ela que fazia tudo...
Guran foi meu personagem favorito, amo tudo nele, a pessoa mais querida que existe! O casal secundário carregou o drama, eles serviram muito entretenimento!!!!

Amei o foco a amizade dos 5, de terem mostrado um pouco da vida de cada um, não focando apenas nos protas. E as referências a Harry Potter?! ADOROO

drama sekolah ringan buat kalian yang ga suka konflik ribet!

Akhirnya kelar juga nonton WIFTY setelah udah di planning dari kapan hari :")

dari segi karakter, gue paling suka sama karakternya Su Zai Zai. Su Zai Zai bener bener bikin orang disekitar nya ngerasa dihargai dan diperhatiin, terutama buat Zhang Lu Rang yang kek kanebo :") Zai Zai bener bener sukses bikin Zhang Lu Rang kehabisan kata-kata tiap dipuji dan diperhatiin.

btw, Zhang Lu Rang emang cakep banget sih, gue sempet ke distract tiap kali ni orang senyum wkwkwk.

Scene High School nya menurut gue panjang banget :") bahkan gue sempet kaget udah nyampe episode 18 masih SMA :") kek bener bener diceritain detail per detail, kek lu tuh bener bener dibuat ngerasain gimana ngejar cowo ganteng, pinter, kalem trus inceran satu sekolah :")

character developmentnya Zhang Lu Rang juga sedikit demi sedikit udah mulai oke pas mereka udah kuliah, yakali kan ni orang masih kalem dan cuman respon 1 sampe 2 kalimat aja :") gue nya yang kesel kalo gini wkwkw :")

Tapi, baik scene kuliah, apalagi kerja tuh kek time skip woi, cepet banget, sat set :") gue tuh pengen ngerasin sih Zhang Lu Rang nya bucin kek orang gila wkwkw tapi keknya rada susah ya dan lu expect apa sama cowo yang emang pendiem :") karena gue tetep cuman ngeliat Zai Zai nya yang kek cegil disini wkwkwk :")

Oiya, gue rada ke distract sama second couple nya disini. Gu Ran ama Jiang Jia sukses bikin gue gregetan tiap ketemu, malah mereka yang menurut gue lebih berasa aura naksir tapi malu malunya, mana dua-duanya gengsian lagi :") btw, gue nangis woi waktu denger Gu Ran akhirnya confess :") pak Dokter yang konyol bisa romantis juga ternyata :")

Guan Fang juga lucu banget, menurut gue kalo ga ada Guan Fang disini persahabatan mereka ga bakal lengkap. lo pasti tau kan, kadang di satu rombongan tuh harus ada banget satu orang yang biasa diceng-cengin karena jomblo dan biasanya dia juga yang paling receh, plus kalo ga ada dia tuh kurang rame wkwkwk :") makasih Guan Fang, setidaknya lo karakter yang bikin gue sadar bahwa Real Life ya emang gitu :")

BTW, gue juga agak menyayangkan ending WIFTY yang manis tapi kesannya kek terburu-buru, kek bucinnya tuh bener bener habis di SMA :") maksud gue tuh.... GUE PENGEN LIAT ZHANG LU RANG PANIKKAN SEBAGAI PAPA MUDA wkwkwk apalagi istrinya kan rada random woi :") tapi ya sudah lah mau gimana lagi :")

Overall gue lumayan seneng sih nontonnya dan lumayan ga berasa, kek tiba tiba aja udah selesai satu episode wkwkw.
Buat OST nya menurut gue bagus kok, cuman ya itulah, hampir tiap scene romantis ada OST dan gue lagi lagi ke distract fokus dengerin lagu daripada karakternya dialog :")

Rewatch? hmmm ga deh keknya, karena gue lebih ke tipe drama Cowo yang wajib bucin habis :")
Tapi kalo kalian mau nonton drama yang ringan, boleh banget di coba nonton ini guys!

My rating of this drama

For this particular drama, my rating doesn't fully reflect my great enjoyment. From the first to the last episode, this drama was adorable. Not silly sweet but refreshingly sweet. No wonder it rushed to the top on the first day of its launch and into the top ten in real-time. Moreover, despite being so young, the main and secondary couples gave such amazing acting performances that I'll follow up their future projects.
It was a beautiful love story, and very well directed (with only minor editing flaws). But it is a simple plot, not intricate or complex twists. Although it had some drama that contributed to the male lead character development, most scenes and dialogues were very simple as expected in a high school setting, and some were shallow (the few cliches included in the plot). So although the love story is a 10/10, the overall drama's simple (but sweet) plot is why I gave it 8.5 (dramas that I think were very good and a rewatch in the future).

Must watch for teens - Positive Influence

This show is very cute & clichéd. There are no bad guys. It's an ideal world they lived in with lots of wholesome moments, details & full of life youthful high school days. There are aspirations, admirations & endearingly sweet dreams that brings a bunch of school fellows best friends for life.

I love how it sheds light on the importance of having positive influence around in your teens and how life changing happiness can be for humans. Nothings permanent but efforts can make life & this world better for people we love & cherish.

V clean & inspirational story. Teens should watch it.

Muito gostosinho de assistir.

Pense num dorama gostosinho de assistir. Ele acompanha o colegial, até a fase adulta de um grupo de amigos. É agradável de assistir o desenvolvimento deles até a fase adulta. E tanto o casal principal, como o secundário, são encantadores.

Tem uma pitada pequena de drama, mas não é aquela coisa massante, para mim pareceu aquele tipo de dorama que você tem que assistir quando quer relaxar. E só vai, kkk.

Gostei que a prota é decidida, foi ela que praticamente correu atrás dele. Pois como ele é um personagem tímido e até retraído, por conta dos pais, por sinal que pais em? Teve horas que me dava vontade de pegar eles e gritar. Pior que esses tipos de pais são muito comum pelo mundo. Sabe aquilo de priorizar um filho sobre o outro? Por culpa deles o Prota nem acreditava que era capaz. É muito linda, uma declaração que ele faz, que diz que foi a Prota que fez com que ele confiasse mais nele, ela que aumentava a autoestima dele. O que tornou tudo ainda mais fofo, pois mesmo eles sendo o completo oposto, se completavam de um jeito único.

Demora pra eles engrenarem no romance, acho que pela questão cultural deles de priorizar os estudos, mas é gostoso de ver o desenrolar do amor deles. Não é aquela coisa corrida, como ocorre muito hoje. Eles não pularam etapas. E quando finalmente se declararam, os capítulos do desenvolvimento do namoro deles eram tão leves, que passavam que eu nem percebia, quando vi só tinha acabado. E o que eu mais gostei é que eles confiavam muito um no outro.

E o pedido de casamento dele foi muito fofo, acho que o mais fofo que eu já vi no mundo dos doramas.

Queria mais capítulos, kkk.
