Unexpected story

I usually enjoy the zombie genre and All of Us Are Dead was no exception. The plot progression was good and the musical score helped to improve the intense moments in each episode. There was some well-timed humour that was unexpected but helped cut some of the seriousness of the scenes.

However, the characters quickly became overbearing. The constant theme of "sacrifice" showed how immature the characters were. The slow reaction to life-threatening situations was frustrating and the fact that no zombies reached them in the time they were there wasting standing around was unrealistic. I had a great time binging but apart from Su-Hyeok, Na-Ra and Ha-ri, I can't say there was a single character who I consistently rooted for.

Semua aspek kehidupan di Drama ini sangat seimbang.

Untuk pertama kalinya aku bikin review untuk sebuah judul Drama Korea di MDL. Ini emang keren banget.

Oke, pertama-tama aku mau sungkem dulu sama writer, sutradara, aktor, dan semua tim produksi yang terlibat. Aku salut banget cara Drama ini membawa kita ke hari-hari atau bahkan jam-jam yang membosankan sekaligus menegangkan, time-speednya tidak membuat kita merasa bingung karena terlalu cepat dan tidak terlalu lambat yang membuat kita merasa bosan.

Drama ini memang sebuah cara untuk mengetahui bagaimana "Survive" di kehidupan seperti itu. Apesnya dapet, beruntungnya juga dapet. Jadi ga semata-mata salah satu di antara lucky or unlucky memihak kita. Antara suka dan dukanya juga balance banget, bikin ketawa dan nangis dalam waktu yang berdekatan.

Aku juga acungin jempol banget untuk karakter yang bikin naik tensi kayak Na-Yeon, baru aja tahun kemaren kita sayang sama karakter yang diperanin sama Lee Yoo-Mi ini di Squid Game. Pembawaan karakternya yang egois, suka ngejudge orang tapi gaada kontribusi apa-apa sama pertahanan hidup, mana lagi ngorbanin orang-orang kesayangan, emang sih ngeselin banget. Tapi, aku agak kasian sama dia yang hidup dengan kepribadian itu. Dia bingung, tapi caranya ngomong ke orang salah.

Di satu sisi kita ringam banget sama 'musuh' yang nyebelin banget, di satu sisi lagi ada orang-orang ga banyak cocot tapi berkontribusi besar kayak Su-Hyeok sama Dae-Su, haduh mereka berdua ini emang yang paling di sayang. Si Ibu Ketua Kelas, Nam-Ra, aku salut sama ketenangan, ketegasan, dan perencanaan luar biasanya.

Petualangan mereka menyusuri ruang ke ruang, ah rasanya berproses walau sebenernya tempatnya di situ-situ aja.

Ga cuma itu, ketawa sama nangisnya juga seimbang. Kita tegang dan berkali-kali nyaksiin duka sama anak-anak SMA Hyosan (kecuali pas ada yang ngaku kebelet berak dan pada akhirnya bikin toilet darurat), aku juga ngakak banget sama tingkah laku detektif sama polisi anak SNU. Bikin tegang juga, tapi di bawa lucu aja gitu sama mereka.

Kenyataan bahwa kita bakal nyaksiin pengorbanan oleh 'kind people' dari SMA Hyosan, rata-rata emang bikin mewek. Pembangunan karakter di sini dari awal sampe akhir kek menetap gitu, yang baik ya baik, yang keras kepala sampe akhir ya gitu aja. Nyeseknya lagi pengorbanan di sini lebih banyak sia-sianya daripada yang ngga, salah satu di antaranya bahkan ngebikin pengorbanannya malah bikin makin repot. Karakter yang 'ditinggalkan' ini pun sempet down, tapi mereka harus bertahan hidup anjirrr.

Di sini kita juga belajar, kalo lagi situasi genting ini ada saatnya kita pake perasaan, ada saatnya kita harus mikir pake logika. Gimana cara ngehormatin keputusan tim, apa-apa harus fleksibel kalo mau selamat.

Chemistry Nam-Ra sama Su-Hyeok ampun banget gaada obat. Lagian ngapa dibikin bucin banget sih si Su-Hyeok, On-Jo ga jadi sadgirl of the year, kan?

Not just a zombie show

Although there's many flaws in the series and it's not exactly like the webtoon, but I appreciate the production team, the director, and all the actors + actresses involved in this series (inclusive of the zombies).
It's not an easy job to act as zombie with that movements. My fav zombie is the one crawling like Sadako.
CGI nicely done, like real. School setting also looks real, make up nicely done too. Got blood here and there (expected from a zombie genre) but not excessively, just enough to show people bitten, injured, etc.

What I like:
1. The chemistry among the casts
2. The moral of the story, not about zombie (yes you need to survive from zombie) but the series remind us the most important thing, like what On Jo father said : to be healthy. The story also reflected today society, people will do anything in order to achieve their own goal (selfish), in this story is to survive once will sacrifice others. In today society is not a "physical" killing, but emotional backstabbing is also equivalent to physical killing.
Don't betray your partner, as you 're the one will die LOL... happen when Min Ji left Hyo Ryung when they are partner to run through the forest and at the end she's the one who died
3. The pacing is good
4. Great acting, especially Gwi Nam

The downside:
1. Some scenes are just too unrealistic, example On Jo father suddenly appear in front of her, he has the key to the lock door?? No sound of breaking the door and the door can suddenly open? Then afterwards why he need to lock himself with the zombie? He also can run and lock the gate from outside...

The zombie can bite fingers too right? so many hollows especially when trying to escape from the gym room...
2. Can't really understand why Ji Su only changed to become a zombie after beaten up? The father already injected the virus long before, but why the effect very slow? And also On Jo was scratch or bitten by the first zombie, but she is ok??
And some others quite not logical scenes...

But despite of those downsides overall it's enjoyable to watch (for me at least). A lot of talented young actors and actresses.. Can't wat to see their future works!

If you like gore more than story then this is for you

Just finished the drama and have so much to say, finally we got a zombie show set in modern day after train to busan. It was long overdue and I just believe korea makes the best zombie content like there's no argument there. I liked that the shows backdrop was bullying like highlighting such an serious issue with zombies somehow worked. It also showed even though there are main actors, there's no bias between each character you never know what's going to happen next and that kept me on the edge of my seat.

The visual effects, makeup and acting in terms of being zombies was outstanding. I feel like the actors especially Yoon Chan Young also did a great job in displaying emotion and pain, it had me crying many times. But like people are saying some characters were just not developed enough and i agree. I wish we got more backstory than just them fighting zombies. I also liked that they showed us how the virus was resolved, otherwises most zombies shows or sci fi shows end on the main leads still fighting zombies and trying to survive. Also appreciate that they got young actors to play high school students, you can tell and it does make an difference.

That being said I know the show is getting a of cristimism in terms of its rabbit holes, but I think they still just an great job in creating an decent show within 12 episodes, could there be changes yes for sure, but i think they mainly wanted to make it an zombie show than a show filled with story and in terms of that boy did they deliver or what.

Hmm entertaining watch, but a frustrating one. I don't regret watching, it's a lot of fun, the action scenes are choreographed really well and the budget and visual effects make for amazing viewing! The pace of the action scenes is really good and keeps you hooked but there were just so many elements of it that were so frustrating.

I think the main issue was there were too many episodes but horrendous use of time... so many characters were introduced whose storylines went literally nowhere (the two cops and the children, the schoolgirl who gave birth, the politician, even Onjo's father whose storyline was built up so much for the most ridiculous and avoidable death ever).

It was so full of plot holes as well like it's actually screamworthy watching the inconsistencies with the 'halfies' which was never explained beyond one comment that the only thing stronger than the virus was human will? Or something like that but the characters' individual drives weren't all very clear. Generally I think Gwinam made a pretty good baddie I believed his motivation that he was so inherently twisted and evil it was his drive to continue to cause chaos. I loved the good v evil rivalry with Cheongsang but it was super frustrating that he had some ridiculous inability to be killed that just proved uneccessary and repetitive, can't even count the amount of times he fell off a building and then recovered in 2 minutes. Whereas Namra's abilities apparently only appeared at the very last second to save them, even though there were so many avoidable deaths or failed plans that would've so easily been solved by literally anyone remembering she had superhuman strength and basically supernatural abilities. And then that weird bullied girl who became a halfie, failed to burn down the school and then ended up killed; an already unrealistic character arc built up only to go nowhere.
I really wish they'd had the bullied school girl about to burn down the school and then have Cheongsang and the group talk her out of it and make her realise she's not evil at heart so she ends up sacrificing herself protecting them from Gwinam. I think that would be the perfect showdown between the two 'evil' characters and redemption for her and his comeuppance. And then I think Cheongsang could've sacrificed himself for the group but his drive to protect his Onjo and his friends would be enough to turn him into a halfie too. I don't know.. so much they could've done with the characters and concepts but failed to execute.

Furthermore, a lot of the characters and dialogue was ridiculous I mean the amount of time spent on Onjo/Cheongsang pining when they were literally in the face of death. But I could excuse the vapid love stories because at the end of the day it wouldn't be a teen drama without them.

Generally I think it started really well, I liked the concept and I really like the main group and generally think the acting was good as much as dialogue allowed. I do think it was entertaining and I probably would watch S2 and while I generally thought the dialogue was good I'd probably account it to overambitious writing.

Watched it all in less than 24 hours.

Nowadays it takes a lot for me to get into a show. Whether it be a show in English or a kdrama. My attention span is not that great so if it doesn’t draw me in within the first 30 minutes or so, I usually don’t stick around. But, as you can tell from the headline, I was REALLY into this one. I had been seeing so many ppl on twitter talk about it but I didn’t think much of it. But then yesterday I was bored and decided to give it a try. I was up until 1am trying to finish the show. The story, the acting, the characters had me all HOOKED. So much happened so fast that I felt like I had lived a whole lifetime by the 3rd episode. This drama definitely deserves all of the hype it’s getting in twitter. Now, ofc there were some things that I didn’t like but that’s literally every show.

I highly recommend you check this show out. I promise you won’t be able to predict what happens next bc there’s a twist every few minutes. I can’t wait until season 2!

Watch it! Its awesome

Not everyone likes this type of drama. But if you will give it a try then definitely it will keep you busy watching it. This drama is rollercoaster of emotions. It will make you cry, it will make you angry, it will make you laugh and many more. And i definitely enjoyed this rollercoaster ride. The acting of cast was top notch. They represented every emotion clearly. Believe me i have cried almost in every episode. The acting of people who became zombie was like Oh my god. Its not easy to act like zombie. You will know it if you will watch it.zombie dramas has their own fan base. My favorite thing about this drama was their friendship of cast in drama. Like how they always stayed together and moved forward with each other. They believed in each other and trusted each other.

This is a great drama about friendship and sacrifices. When you will think like this will happen next no this drama doesn't goes on as per your imagination. It fooled me every time. If you are a emotional drama fan. Then this is for you. You will cry your heart out. In some scenes you will get goosebumps. A drama about how can minorities can fight back or else let themselves involve in majority. This drama also deals with problem of mental health. This drama plays with your emotions and mind. And you will let drama play with your mind and emotions.

I really loved this drama. Its Awesome. This drama definitely deserves more ratings. The acting of actors, the zombies, the emotions , the sacrifices and main the friendship was next level. Its best zombie drama i have watched so far. I dont know if you will like it or not but its definitely a outstanding drama. I think i will not get over this drama for like 10 days. Binge it. Its an awesome outstanding and i have no words for it drama

You will watch it for the hype, but is it worthy?

Coming from 2016 Train to Busan and its 2020 sequel Peninsula, 2018 Rampant, 2019 Kingdom, and 2020 Alive, K-Zombie variety undeniably is a top-tier. Molding a story that synthesizes actuality and thrill, K-Zombie films and series are definitely no-skip.

All of Us Are Dead gives you a notion of being trapped in your school amidst an apocalypse and that's it, we are, once again, to take the same route of emotions, human nature, and morale.

In this perspective, multiple altitudes of development and headway await in its potential, but you will end up looking for the main course.

This is what the show offers: nothing is drawn for one purpose, each connects, each counts, each is just a part of a whole another madness.

Its 12-hour sail provides crammed and lengthy subplots, but amazingly delivers a visual harmony and topnotch performances by the actors.

Imagine a teen-oriented popular afternoon show, but there are zombies in it; this is what All of Us Are Dead brings to the flourishing violent and gore, but socially aware and genuine category of Korean Dramas.

I reviewed because this dorama is amazing. he is really a Dorama that holds your attention a lot watching him once alone after rewatching some chapters and again with my cousin and I don't regret any mome, the story is really really good and you get attached to all the characters really wish there was a second season because the ending is a bit tragic,but the series is still amazing in the same way, every character has their story and their charisma and their reason for wanting to survive and even though they don't have a reason they all fight until the end, the ending left me questioning many things so I think a second season would be good and would have a lot to explore as well

DEVOLVAM ELE PRA GENTE!!!!!

Eu fiquei simplesmente hipnotizada por esse kdrama, os personagens conseguiram conquistar meu coração (mesmo que tenham conquistado o meu lado da raiva né Nam joo sua insuportável).

Amei cada ep e sofri a cada perda, torci tanto pra que os meus personagens fav não morressem, mas acho que torci pouco.
Eu honestamente não curti muito a On-Jo (tipo gata? o Querido do Chung-Son arriado os 4 pneus por vc e tu olhando outro?
ps: eu entendo, afinal o outro era o gostoso do Hyunsuk), enfim, achei ela um tanto quanto irritante.

Odiei a morte do protagonista. Mas como não mostrou o corpo dele eu sigo esperando o querido ressurgir das cinzas.

Nam-ram, digo com todas as letras A MAIORAL DESSA SÉRIE, conquistou meu coração desde o início e a cada segundo eu me apaixonava mais por ela no fim gritei A MORENA TA VIVA!!!!

Dito isto, simplesmente uma das melhores séries de zumbi que já assisti e por favor nos deem uma segunda temporada urgentemente.
