A MUST TRY SERIES!!!!
I was a decade fan of Crime and Suspense Series specially in Korean Drama, and this is the first time I have watched a Thai Series with this genre. I was surprise that it has also a BL part. Just finished the whole series and I enjoyed it. The Writer and the Director did great job on this, the story twist and pacing of every episode was really great. The Identity of the Killer was remain a mystery and only revealed on the last episode which makes MOD more interesting. The BL part did not over power the Crime and suspense part. Actually, even without the BL part, it was already a masterpiece but without the BL part this will not turn into one of the most viewed and highest rating Thai drama of 2020. Since Manner of Death is the anticipating comeback series of my favorite BL couple Max & Tul, I must admit they never failed there fans. There Stunning Visuals, super hot love scenes, and acting were level up in this series. The Unexpected and unique but turned out to be a Romantic Marriage Proposal of Teacher Tan to Dr. Bun, will that's really how the Writer and Director ended MOD. I already expected a Happy Ending but I never expected to be this beautiful ending...Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Things that I really want to see in a movies or series are: looks, chemistry, acting, and storyline.LOOKS: Tan (Max Nattapol Diloknawarit) is really gorgeous and hot while Bun (Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai) is sexy when he smiles.
CHEMISTRY: Still their chemistry is not fading. All of their movies together they really looks good.
ACTING: They are really good in their respective roles.
STORYLINE: This is an extraordinary BL series that I watched so far. It did not focus on love story but it has action, crime and it show's how some person with ranks take advantage on their powers. I really like the plotting of the story and its twist. To summarize the story its one of a kind that you will be hooked to watched the next episode. I really like also how did Tan proposed to Bun. It's so cute and very romantic.

A Rare Gem in the Ocean of Thai Drama
CONTAIN SPOILERS"Why have I not watched this before?" I kept asking myself as I keep biting my nails and play episodes after episodes, binge watching the series in 2 days.
The plot, the premise, the storytelling, the characters, the acting, the dialogues - I am so happy to see that this drama , especially a BL which often flaunt soft and lovey-dovey themes, is tackling so mature a theme so articulately. Sex crimes, human trafficking and drug violence? A plot and character driven theme with on point storytelling? I'm in!
First thing. The plot. From the first forensic test they performed is clear that the production team did their research. The author of the novel is a doctor so I was content that we will get to see some proper real life (almost) dealing of forensic job here. I was not disappointed.
I will give this drama the title of a true crime investigative drama, keeping it real. They notion that 'after a crime happens, everyone is the suspect' was kept throughout the series. Even the main characters are not above the suspicion. Every episode ends with a perfect cliffhanger.
I loved the style of the storytelling as well. Instead of a linear flow of one incident after another, the plot takes liberties to going back and forth in flashbacks and days before of one incident. To some, it may be repetitive, but for me who is too invested in the flow of the story, loved watching it to search for the answers.
The actors, all of them, have done an amazing job. However, I will give kudos to Inspector M and Captain Gun for their respective acting, which was complete opposite of what I thought at first.
The chemistry between the two main characters, the main couple, is undeniably gorgeous; each glance, smirk, tease, heated looks, stares, touches, squints :muah: chef's kiss.
Their emotion for each other is unbridled yet also untrusted, which is very logical and true to the theme of 'everyone is a suspect', and perfectly portrayed with the relation to their respective characters. Dr Bun does not know much about Tan. Tan lies to Dr Bun. They are attracted to each other but also don't fully trust each other (at first). They kiss each other, share sweet moments and then point guns at each other. I was like yes, both of you go for it, kiss each other and then kill each other. Do it.
I should mention, yet again, the natural fluency of the way the main casts tackle intimate scenes. It never looks forced, like they are acting for acting's sake. It's simply like the two people are in love and making love to each other. Kudos to the actors who are also strong and vocal allies of LGBTQIAPN+ community.
There are discussions of abortion but again, kudos that they spoke about it as a choice of an individual rather than an offense and exercised with a look of contempt.
The ending was super sweet. I did not expect them to not kiss but the hugs and soft touches made the scene comfortable to say that the two characters were in perfect marital bliss. And no overt intimate gestures were needed to showcase their love for each other.
And now.
YES. There are plotholes. A hell lot of that.
1. Why Tan's home has the main entrance opened as they they sit down for dinner? Do they not know that there is danger?
2. I don't think that illegal abortion centres perform the abortions while the operation theatre door is partially opened and police, even though may have warrant, can barge into one surgery room where a patient is under the process.
3. As much as I loved the intimate scenes, once again brilliant, some of them felt a bit ill-timed. Dr Bun and Tan broke into Inspector's car, stole a laptop, brought it to their home and then have sex on the sofa? I was like wait what? Now? Idk men, I would probably want to see what was in the laptop, especially as danger is looming over.
4. The journalist is snooping around dangerous areas alone and without any precautions for self-defense?
Some tropes are very familiar and I knew what is in the store for some characters, like the journalist and Pued from like episode number 2.
There are a few more things but those are just me nitpicking over smaller details.
Also, the guy who hacked the SD card and phone and helped share the videos stored on Jane's cloud drive deserves a special applause. If not for him, both the doctor and his beau would be dead.
The ending although unprecedented was not completely unexpected. But still, watching it play before my eyes broke my heart for Jane.
The show is also a testament that you need to be vigilant against people and how they treat you, even if they are someone you love because people change, yes, even the ones you love can change in future. Caution can be your best friend. It also shows how pressure from corrupted authority can make one bow down before the crime even when they know what is wrong and what is right (Inspector M, you were awesome as you decide to not bow down and break that chain of injustice).
All in all, this is a fabulous drama of Thai entertainment and drama industry and not just BL. Please watch and give it more love. I hope to see more plot and characters driven stories in future.
I got to know from social media that Dr Bun's actor Tul has left acting to pursue his other passion and Tan's actor Max has had health issues. Even though it makes me sad that we may not see them together in any series again, I wish them prosperity in their respective lives and thank them for this series. Be happy both of you.

This was so good.
I honestly wasn't expecting to like this series as much as I did, just because of the nature of the plot. But I ended up loving it and it will likely stay in my top 5 for a long time. The story was well written and had my interest from start to finish. It was a long road to find out who could be trusted in the end but it was worth it. There was intrigue and just enough BL within every episode to feel like it was all moving along. I can't recall a moment where I thought "this scene was unnecessary" or "I guess this was filmed as filler to make the time quota." Everything had purpose and left the audience questioning things which is the sign of fantastic writing.
I want a series with Inspector M... just putting it out there, Universe.
I love how the BL world is including mature storylines that don't focus on high school or University age relationships. I don't know if ML (Man-love) instead of BL is a thing, but I'm here for it.

everyone should watch this , short review
i loved this show so much ive watched it months ago but i wanted to review it. i had this in my list for months it had become one my favourite dramas in my top 3. personally i loved it i see the top reviews im like ok? but the plot was smthing else there were a lot of twists i dont wanna go into depth and spoil it for you but i did like how even i didnt guess who was it was normally my problems with good plots is tht sometimes the villains can be predicted at the beginning and for this i had zero clue. the story-line is really thought out to the point when i was watching the series i forgot it was bl and was reminded when they started kissing. the bl aspect too is well thought out and it was never awkwardly put in. as for the acting its maxtul u cannot go wrong with them , they are outstanding when acting and their chemistry is just smthing else. as for the other actors i loved them too they did great. the music was good too no complaint from me. i cant think of anything that made me dislike this tbh.rewatch value: yup 10/10 i already rewatched this about a week ago and still had the same feelings from watching it the first time i find it really hard to rewatch shows that ive already seen but this made it into the list.
overall its a good drama tht keeps u hooked in every episode and i recommend it to everyone

Too damn good
This is one of the best BL series I have watched with an interesting storyline. MaxTul nailed it once again. Their passion for one another, their acting, their chemistry was just bang on. I loved MaxTul more as Tan and Bun than Korn and Knock after seeing this series. Don't miss it at all. Worth watching it at least once and again and again for MaxTul and all other artists as they were just too good. Great as Inspector M just nailed his character as well. I just wish they bring it out on Netflix in countries where it is still not available.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
My speculations to the mystery are off
Anything in Mystery/Thriller dramas isn't skippable. Why? I don't want to miss the important details that will lead to the final revelation. I appreciate the hard work of the whole team in making this series. Although there are some minor details that are illogical, I will just leave them buried. As a whole, the storyline is impressive. I never expected the criminals. I got teary eyes at the end (THIS IS NOT SPOILER). The scene isn't sad but I got emotional while looking back in their story since episode 1.Regarding acting, let me mention first my opinion to the main leads (Max-Tul). I finished watching their 2017 series "Together With Me" yesterday and I found their roles not fitting to them. Their appearances are serious and mature. They're quite fit in bed scenes though. Here in this series, they really fit in their roles well and they did a great portrayal. Also to mention, I started watching this last night for the reason that I want something far from comedy and school-related dramas. But, I didn't expect that this is another Max-Tul series. Luckily, I made the right pick and realized that Max-Tul are fantastic actors.
All casts act impeccably in this series. Mind you, this is a mystery/thriller with some actions. Every lousy acting can be easily noticed but everything is well-executed.
What a great casts and great team behind.
A must-watch! Romance is like 1% only of the entire series but I don't mind it because even the scenes are not many, Max-Tul acted naturally and hotly. They may not look appealing and attractive for me but their R18+ scenes are steamy as hell. Even if we remove the Romance scenes, this is still a MUST-WATCH! That's how good this series is.
(Overall suggested is 8.5/10 but I will rate 9.0/10)

Que show de bl
Simplesmente perfeito!! A história, atuação, direção tudooo tá perfeito.
Recomendo demais!!!

More 'mature' BL
This was a neat wee show. I feel bad that it took me a couple of months to get through it, but I feel like I wasn't as captivated as I should have been. That's on me, not the show. This is a more mature series when it comes to the storyline and acting, in the sense of it's 'older' characters/actors and it's not all about the cute touches, blushes and kisses. The couplings are just accepted, which is something I loved; every now and then you get a little tired of the cliché BL tropes (as much as I love them) and it was refreshing to watch two men be comfortable with one another in private and in public. (That proposal was insane and I loved it, okay?)
The storyline was a little bit of a rollercoaster in terms of who the real villains were, but it got there in the end.

An interesting murder mystery with good /healthy/ main couple
A big recommendation from me. I didn't start this drama for years cause I thought it was something completely different, This show was just what I needed. It had the fun thrills and mysterious air to it along with the not over-the-top gay representation with a decently healthy relationship. I haven't seen a couple that trusts each other this much in a sad long while. Manner of Death was great and I'll absolutely watch it again. Give it a shot and check for my comment for a small spoil/non-spoiler for further convincing :)Considerați utilă această recenzie?

From promising crime series to a BL of sorts...
(...that doesn't satisfy your need to watch something similiar to KinnPorsche)Manner of Death has been thrown around the internet alongside Not Me as a series to watch if you're into more "dark themed" BL's like KinnPorsche. As the latter is in overall a great show I didn't need much more convincing to give this a go. At first, I was pleasently surprised to notice the plot emphasizes crime investigation over romance, which I would've preferred to be the case with KinnPorsche as well. That being said, the choice of approach turned out to be a double-edged sword: whereas Manner of Death had all the potential to be a solid crime series, the mystery-centered plot nabbed away necessary minutes from the main couple which is why Manner of Death barely scrapes the BL-surface enough to be called one. I don't mind this though, as I found it refreshing how the romance developed in a natural way in midst of trying to figure out who the killer is. This apply to the side couple as well, who I ended up preferring over the main ship. I'm usually not that into teen romances but That and Sorawit made me smile like an and I still think about them with warmth. I just cannot but respect the age appropriate portrayal of their developing relationship. Overall, I believe the production team also noticed the lack of BL tropes as they threw (out of nowhere) Inspector M and Oat into the love pool in the very last minute. (Not that I mind, I see the potential and I'd wish they would've given us more than just the one scene.)
So, in conclusion, Manner of Death isn't really a BL but a crime series with a pinch of romance. If you're looking for something as intense as KinnPorsche, I'd look for a another series. Even if you're okay with the lack of romance and smooches I'd still recommend you to treat your withdrawal symptoms with something else. For me, Manner of Death lacks in many areas where KinnPorsche shines from production values to acting. KinnPorsche is crisp, high quality of a show, whereas Manner of Death is murky and uninspiring. I bet making gifs of the series is a bitch.
