Watch this cause of YouTube fishing. Turn out quite good for short drama. It has a complete & clear story from beginning till the end.

Story about Lin Yan (LY) who find out the betrayal of her fiancé Ma Cheng Jun (CJ) and her best friend Wen Li Li (LL) on the day of her wedding. LL push LY down from the building result in LY laying in hospital bed unconscious for 3 months. One day LY suddenly wake up & while running from the one that want to hurt her, she meet Xiao Mo (XM), LY's late dad bodyguard & special assistant.

After learning from XM that CJ slowly take over her company, LY join hand with XM start planning her revenge against LY & LL. In the process, LY learn a lot about XM; what XM had done for her while she's sleeping & how XM silently protect her, slowly but sure LY fall in love with XM. But turn out XM still hiding about his true identity, making LY really doesn't know what to do & who to trust. Is XM feel for LY is real or everything just a plan for the bigger picture...

That's pretty much the story without giving any spoilers. For short drama, this really one good & complete story to tell. All the aspect; acting, editing & music is very good. But unfortunately all falling to the victim make it easy, I mean FL laying in bed for 3 months, but she can still instantly running, FL just wake up from head injury but having no problem with her head. See... make it easy...

But for short drama, this quite a good watch

Blood Ties °7° °VG & simple romance°

“Everyone keeps an eye on our every single move. No one thinks we'll have a happy ending. If I'm in love with an assistant, it doesn't matter. But I'm in love with the big boss.”

Shan “Shan” is a small town girl. She's generally considered to be of average looks, intelligence, and capability. Even still, the whole tiny town saw her off when she left for Shanghai and her new job. She hadn't been a big city girl for long when she got a call in the middle of the night. The Chairman's granddaughter is in the hospital with an emergency. She has a rare blood type - the same blood type as Shan's. Very politely, they asked Shan if she would donate her blood.

BaM is a 2014 release that is rated 7.2 on IMDB. It is 1 season consisting of 34 45-minute episodes. It's exactly like a romance novel committed to screen. It's really not dumbed down - it has an average IQ and is quite intelligent at times, just like Shan. This blood-favor puts her in the sights of the company CEO (it was his sister who was ill) as well as the head of the design dept, “Handsome Qi”. It also causes Shan to doubt herself & why she was hired. She will continue to doubt herself for the balance of the show. The necessary exchange of “thank-yous” & courtesies follow, but for other reasons, Shan keeps running into the CEO, “Feng” Teng. Shan is a cutie, but it's her simple genuine nature & her warmth that catch Feng's attention.

While this is going on, Shan's cousin shows up in Shanghai. Shi An Ni (The Story of Xijing, To My 19-Year-Old) plays Xue LiuLiu. I find her interesting. She holds her neck and shoulders too tightly and looks as if she has a cervical injury. As soon as the actress started talking, the screen lit up. She mimics her overbearing mother and it's hilarious. There are times she seems too stiff, but at all times she's unique, which is refreshing. I am looking forward to seeing more of her because I don't have a handle on her skills yet. Anyway, LiuLiu doesn't stay long. She soon moves in with her bf who ignores Shan when they meet. He doesn't seem like a good match for her cousin. I love how cuz LiuLiu never has a hair out of place and Shan is always disheveled.

Zhao Li Ying (The Story of Ming Lan, The Legend of Shen Li) plays Xue Shan Shan. How cute is this gurl? Very. An absolute delight, she makes the show. Hans Zhang (Kunpeng and Butterfly, Here to Heart-3.9) is our ML. He's certainly not my type. Too prickly. He's good with numbers but not people, but he does seem to be decent. You don't have to be the smartest, the richest, the brightest or the most beautiful, you just need to feel like home for your spouse. Shan feels like home for Feng.

Li Cheng Yuan (Lost Love in Times) portrays Yuan LiShu. She's fashioned herself in love with Feng for years (they grew up together) & she don't wanna go down easy. At one point it pained me that I couldn't slap her. They make the point several times that she's hyper-competitive, which does pave a nice long road for her bad behavior. If the object of your affection doesn't reciprocate, it's either the wrong timing, or the wrong person. If it's meant to be, the attraction is always mutual. Move on and work on yourself; Lishu choses self-improvement. “Because of Feng, I found many dark sides of mine in love. The original hearty LiShu became jealous, calculating, and untruthful in love. The dark LiShu is too frightening to be recognized by myself.” Wow. Kudos to the writer - Self-reflection and honesty, with a dash of humility, will NEVER render us more unlikable! Quite the opposite.

Huang You Ming (Mysterious Lotus Casebook, Love and Redemption-10) plays Zheng “Handsome Qi”. He's Feng’s partner, BFF, and the social one of the 2. Both of Fengs's secretaries are darling, but Long Yi Yi (Love O2O, My Sunshine) as Linda looks as good in a suit as any woman ever. Li Fang Ding (Inside Man) portrays Zhou Xiao Wei, who is a superb worker and an awful human being. Shan forgives her too easily. I'm not against forgiveness, I'm against evil: Xiao Wei should be fired. She will only ever cause strife, misery, and chaos, so the company is better off without her. Jin Guo Dong (My Sunshine) & Gu Man (You Are My Glory-5.9, Love O2O-6.8) are the screenwriters. Liu Chun Chieh (Lighter & Princess, Two Fathers-7.5) is the Director

This is a classic power balance romance. The man appears to have all the power in the beginning, but it's really Shan that comes out on top in the end. All's fair in love & war, and all’s well that ends well, right? If a manipulative male is a trigger for you, you may not enjoy this. Feng has no idea how to court a woman. His intentions are good, it's his method that is sketchy.

As a “thank-you" for her help with their health emergency, Feng’s sister starts sending in lunch boxes for Shan to help rebuild her health and stamina. Food is the way to Shan's hungry heart, but the whole company knows about this immediately as Mr Fang's secretaries are doing the lunch deliveries. Before long Shan scuttles off somewhere quiet to eat alone. She's found the perfect place - a little balcony area that nobody ever comes to, equipped w/ a beautiful bench. Most of all, it's private. She eats. She exults In her happiness exercises. She jumps around and throws her arms up saying: “You are a ray of sunshine loaded with happiness.” The windows are mirrors - she can watch herself do her routine. What she doesn't know is that, on the other side of the window, is Mr Feng. He's been watching her, enjoying her, and eating right alongside her w/ only a thin pane of glass between them.

“When he called my name just now it felt so intoxicating. Why does my name sound so amazing from his mouth?” The actress sounds like an excited 4 year old at Disney. Shan can't handle the stress of all the attention, as Feng's behavior is attracting the entire company, not just Shan. He probably has no concept of his inclinations, or at least hasn't faced them fully. He's used to bossing people around and he has never had to chase a woman, so he starts forcing her to do things to be around him - like eating lunch together. She tries to weedle out of the box lunches but only ends up being invited to his office to eat with him directly. He's tired of the glass between them. Obviously, that's the very definition of sexual harassment. The difference is intent. His motivations are actually pure underneath his improper forcefulness. (IRL, this behavior is usually intended to take advantage of someone sexually and discard them. That's not what's going on here. A controlling man separates and isolates his woman. Feng is a blessing to all who support Shan).

Everybody's abuzz over her relationship with Mr Feng. Nevertheless, the steady meals cause Shan to feel like he's a wolf and she's a pig that he's fattening up for slaughter. It would never enter her mind, at this point, that he might be interested in her personally. She feels like a blood factory. Does HE know she's a human?. She ends up faking illness as an excuse to avoid lunchtime. It backfires. We're not even up to ep10, but the next thing that Shan tries is to say that she can't have lunch with him because she needs to study for the CPA exam. The next thing she knows, she's ensconced in his office at lunchtime with a bunch of CPA exam guides. ‘This is the perfect quiet place for you to study,’ he explains.

Well before Feng & Shan get together her friends were already swooping in to tell her that trying to make it work w/ a rich guy is a mistake. There's no security. She'll probably be dumped b/c rich guys have endless options & endless temptations. Next, during a home visit, her parents specifically tell her: “We don't want you to bring home someone wealthy.” They don't think that would work out at all. This is all contrasted with cuz LiuLiu, whose mother is the opposite. She tries to force her daughter to stay with a horrible man only b/c he's loaded. Another contrast to Shan is her roommate's parents, who don't like Lufthan, roomie’s new bf, b/c he's not successful enough. Opinions. Everybody's got one. When you're giving advice, it's probably best to not tell people what to do but to tell them to “consider” whatever questions/points you want to share with them. The people giving Shan advice know nothing of her relationship with Feng.

All this while, Shan fashions herself enamored w/ Handsome Qi. Handsome, friendly, and pretty much a chick magnet, he's the type of guy that everybody's a little bit in love with. Mr Feng is more complex and difficult to love. “When you give up a tree that doesn't belong to you, you'll find that there's a whole forest there waiting for you to explore,” Handsome Qi says to Shan. They've just had a discussion about how they like each other, but like isn't love. They're friends - another reason e'erbody at the company is talking about & watching Shan.

BaM is about adjusting. He declares his love ⅓ into the show. When Feng&Shan finally get together, it's a secret. She doesn't feel secure in the relationship. She's depressed. And why doesn't he want to celebrate Valentine's Day? Everyone else got flowers. He's stiff and never shows his hand, so she never knows what he's thinking. As Valentine's Day approaches, He remarks that his grandfather was traditional and they never celebrated any Western holidays. At the same time, Shan's friends are asserting that Feng must not love her. One of the family's close friends is living at his family's house because she's going through a trauma. Shan's friends put unnecessary pressure on her by insisting that Feng's two-timing her. There's a thin line between cautioning someone & arrogance.

This segues nicely into the theme of BaM, the primary one being the destructive force of gossip.

Let's gossip about gossip. Why do we do it? Why does it feel good? Gossip is a function of pride. Pride always compares and competes. We gossip to make ourselves feel superior by comparison. We usually have no idea about the real story, the person's challenges, strengths, weaknesses, abilities, flaws, advantages and disadvantages, background… Gossip is basically a vat of lies that we enjoy taking a bath in once in awhile. Not only is it pathetic, but it's cruel and pernicious. Anyone who gossips IS part of the problem.

The gossip at work worsens over the course of the entire show. When they were just sizing each other up and he kept bringing her to the office to eat, they weren't dating, but everybody assumed that they were. Once they start dating, they keep their distance, so everybody assumes that she was tossed to the side. Every incident is misinterpreted in the most vile way. She's a pariah. No one can just have a relationship with her (except her cousin and bestie). She's constantly measured and found to be not good enough. As Feng is hard to read she's always ill-at-ease. When they finally do go public, Shan has to deal w/ a whole different kind of gossiping. She's become a zoo exhibit. Everybody suddenly wants to talk to her, greet her, & suck up to her. Everyone in Feng's sphere thinks the beautiful, composed, & sophisticated LiShu is a better match. Shan is adorable (she wears that tedious bun in her hair most of the show, and it ain't her best look) but she doesn't care about clothes & makeup (just food), so there's constant comments that she's mid. While Feng is under pressure, Shan is the one who really suffers, and Feng remains mostly oblivious to it. Shan even stresses over her raise, concerned that it will be lower to prove there's no favoritism. When she gets her raise, people comment on how it should have been more, so she isn't that special. There is no winning this contest.

China excels at showing how none of us are truly free. Another common theme in Chinese entertainment is that it's lonely at the top. They often portray CEOs, kings and denizens of the inner palace as miserable people in miserable places. Feng's suffered through the wrong attentions for the wrong reasons and lacks genuine interactions. The Great Gatsby factors significantly. It's a story about a man going to extraordinary efforts to attract a woman's attention, but in the end, the woman is a shallow person who doesn't deserve the love & effort he invested in her. Shan's the furthest thing from shallow & greedy. She prefers a simple life.

Some of the fashion is painful to look at. Mr Fang actually has a shirt with a leopard plushie collar. It's beyond awful. There's a bike trail scene that is very pretty. The soundtrack isn't bad at all; Roll the Dice, by Shan Gao is good.

BaM is a romance for romance junkies, not the general public. This show is the perfect formula for me when I'm exhausted and my brain doesn't want too much stimulation. China excels at such entertainment (for obvious reasons, but I digress). Where BaM truly does itself proud is that it does have a poignant & worthy message. “Don't try to change yourself only for me.” Feng loves her as she is. Shan's feelings of inadequacy just made both of them uncomfortable. The truth is that we should all never stop working on ourselves. But her motivation should be self-improvement, not to feel that she's worthy of him. (Whatever. She can't eat that ;) This ain't Shakespeare. But it has its moments. Shan decides that the only thing to do is to become the best version of herself so that she can stay on proudly next to Feng. That's the answer. Ding ding ding.

Hot ML could not save writing crumbling apart and annoying/badly acted FL

What started at first as a hot thriller with an enemies-to-lovers married couple and some mystery, fell quickly apart as the writing crumbled with no proper characterization and a lot of plot armor for the characters.

Even if I cannot deny the fact that the male lead was very attractive despite (or thanks to) all his caveman manners and possessiveness, he got less interesting as his motivations and choices became more absurd with some noble idiocy move that I disliked a lot. The female lead was an even worse main protagonist, that had almost no character growth. She felt like a carpet for most of the series, being dragged by the events with very little agency, wanting to help but concretely being carried by others all along the drama.

Regarding casting, Yoo Yeon Seok delivered a solid and hot performance. Despite the cringy lines he had to say and the writing sinking deeper and deeper, his acting skills shined through the screen. I unfortunately cannot say the same for his counterpart Chae Soo Bin. I was super disappointed and even irked by her acting. She had a vacant / empty expression or a sad kicked puppy look for almost the total duration of the series. Her character is written as passive and quite timid, so maybe she is not the only one to be blame for it...But she did not manage to insufflate any life into her performance making it I feel even worse than what was written in the scenario.

The production value was quite good. Nothing extraordinary in terms of directing and making but good enough for the story to be told. In addition to some support characters that I wish we had seen more, the soundtrack was the saving grace of the drama, I enjoyed it a lot overall.

I would not recommend this to people as I feel there are better thrilling romance out there. Some of the more steamy scenes are good but all that surround them is clearly not worth it. At first it was entertaining but very quickly it fell apart because of the crazy writing and insipid heroine.

Short drama that lived higher than my expectations

First of all I am a huge fan of revenge plots ... When a woman is getting revenge on man it becomes thriller or grey ..and in contrast when a man delivering his shot to deliver his revenge on a woman ..it becomes a passionate love story ...this drama serves you the latter ...
Story starts with the ML coming to FL's town to take his revenge against her for what she did to his family and got his father killed 5 years ago. Despite his efforts he can't get over his feelings for her ..and all these years he seemed to stuck into the same loop " did she even loved me for real even for a moment? ". As the story unfolds we see the reason behind FL's actions (not giving any spoilers) .. the entire plot is based on freedom struggle era in china. Everything from cars, trains , telephone to costumes gave the retro (pre retro vibe).

The FL is quite beautiful and I loved her acting as well ... In the same way ML was equally talented and good looking ..both making a perfect duo ... Their chemistry had a good spark to it .. (though at times I felt the FL is reluctant to give a proper smooch scene) other than that everything seems fine.

For first few episodes you will see a passionate kissing scene in every episode.. later cools off to a no kiss climax, what a waste for a story that had so much heat in the pilot episode

But even with it's flaws this drama was still very enjoyable.

Recommended ❤️

LOVE SCOUT: A fantastic start to my 2025!

Normally, I wait until I'm halfway through a series to write a review, but the first two episodes of this show were so good that I just had to share my thoughts. I recently discovered that "Love Scout" is written by one of my favorite screen writer Kim Ji Eun —the same person behind a favourite kdrama " why her " and my top drama from last year, "Wonderful World," and then "Lie After Lie," which I also loved. I'm thrilled to have another favorite series from her!

The story revolves around a workplace romance between a female CEO of a headhunting company and her secretary, who happens to be a single father. Their first encounter is filled with tension, leading her to vow never to see him again. However, fate has other plans, and they find themselves working together as CEO and secretary. I absolutely love the role reversal here; it's refreshing to see a female lead as the CEO while the male lead takes on the secretary role, which is usually the opposite.

The drama not only focuses on their romantic journey but also dives into workplace challenges, providing perspectives from both leads. It offers a glimpse into the headhunting business, balancing serious themes with light comedy and, of course, romance. I can already tell this series is heading in a direction I’ll adore, especially with my favorite tropes lined up: a cold female lead and a sunshine male lead, we also have sort of enemies-to-lovers, workplace romance, and a mature-themed slow burn all rolled into one...and I can't wait for how it all unfolds..

What’s rare for me is that I already love both characters equally at this early stage, which is a testament to the writing of both characters.

The female lead, with her cold exterior shaped by past trauma, is both hardworking and logical, exuding an aura of strength while still being vulnerable and relatable. On the other hand, the male lead brings warmth with his kind and caring nature, showcasing his role as a loving dad. His character feels genuine and relatable, making it easy to root for him. Their contrasting personalities create a dynamic that complements each other beautifully, and I’m really enjoying their interactions and chemistry.

The acting has been impressive so far, and the laid-back, relaxing vibe of the show adds to my enjoyment. Overall, it's a fantastic start, and I can't wait to see how this story develops. I’ll definitely be back to share a more in-depth review once I've watched more episodes!

For those who can’t with the Ctrauma

Blossom is a masterpiece that sets a new standard for Chinese historical dramas. From its breathtaking visuals to its emotionally resonant storytelling, every element of this series is crafted with care and precision.

The acting is nothing short of phenomenal. The leads deliver performances that are both powerful and nuanced, with chemistry so electric it leaves you longing for more collaborations between them. Their dynamic brings an intensity and authenticity to every scene, making the love story at the heart of Blossom unforgettable.

The storyline is equally compelling, weaving together themes of love, betrayal, and resilience against the backdrop of a richly detailed historical setting. The narrative strikes the perfect balance between grand, sweeping drama and intimate, character-driven moments.

The production design and costumes are stunning, immersing viewers in a world that feels both authentic and visually enchanting. Every detail, from the intricate set pieces to the delicate embroidery on the costumes, reflects the care and effort poured into the series.

Adding to the magic is the soundtrack, which elevates every scene. The music is hauntingly beautiful, perfectly capturing the emotional highs and lows of the story.

This is a drama I will definitely rewatch and wholeheartedly recommend. Blossom is a testament to the power of exceptional storytelling, and the leads’ undeniable chemistry leaves us hoping to see them reunited on screen soon.

A Drama That Stole My Heart

“When the Phone Rings” is a drama that will stay with me for a long time. I truly enjoyed watching it and waiting every week for new episodes to be released.

When I first started watching the drama, I honestly didn’t have any high expectations. But by the end of the first episode, I was already completely hooked on the story. The acting, the emotions, and the chemistry between the main actors—it all captivated me so much.

One of the biggest highlights of this drama is definitely the actors themselves. They brought the characters to life in such a powerful and emotional way that it felt impossible not to be invested in their journey.

I’ve seen Yoo Yeon Seok Oppa’s previous works before, but this was the first time I got to see him in a lead role—and he completely blew me away. I feel like he showed a whole new side of himself as an actor in this drama. His performance was absolutely top-tier, and I was so impressed with how deeply he portrayed his character’s emotions.

I also really loved Chae Soo Bin. She was so sweet, so feminine, and her portrayal of Hee Joo was incredibly heartfelt. She captured every emotion perfectly, making her character feel so real and relatable.

The second thing that stood out to me was the storyline. In my opinion, the adaptation was even better than the original source material. I also loved how each episode ended in such an unexpected way, keeping me curious and excited for what would happen next. The epilogues at the end of the episodes hold a special place in my heart—they added so much depth and meaning to the story.

The OSTs were another strong point of this drama. They were so emotional and perfectly matched the tone of each scene. I especially loved that Yoo Yeon Seok sang one of the OSTs in the later episodes—it made those moments even more touching.

This drama had everything I love about K-dramas—the chemistry, the slow-burn romance, the plot twists, and so many emotional ups and downs. Watching it was truly an unforgettable experience for me.

I also hope to see the actors work together again in future projects, and I wish the entire cast and crew much success in their careers. Thank you so much to everyone involved in creating this amazing drama!

11 Hours of Entertainment Followed by 30 Minutes of What Was That??

I am going to start by saying this.. Everything apart from crying or kidnapping most of the happy or romantic scenes thats worth remembering are imagination in this show.. So much so that even the ending had me thinking, ' Wait.. Are they going to show this was just imagination too?? '

The story was solid.. And the cast was absolutely perfect.. I heard people complaining about CSB.. But I honestly didnt feel anything wrong with her acting atleast in this drama.. The chemistry between the leads was spot on.. And the OST added so much more to the drama.. The first two episodes were well crafted and paced and did the job of drawing me in and making me want to keep watching.. And I think we just got the best kiss of 2024 in this drama.. Thank the director for making sure we got all the angles.. If thats what you are in it for.. One more thing I liked about the drama was the abundance of parallels.. If you pay close attention you will notice plenty of them in the drama..

In my eyes.. Heejoo is the true hero of this story.. She has endured heartbreak after heartbreak from the ones who should have cared for her and loved her.. Yet she carried on with unwavering grace.. She is a character who truly deserves all the love in the world..

" If it was for you.. I thought I wouldnt mind dying..
But I miss you.. I wasn’t afraid of dying..
But the thought of never seeing you again was terrifying.. "

Ep 11 was filled with angst.. Some might say it was unnecessary because of everything that happened in the previous episodes.. But I think it was exactly what the story needed.. It pushed the story to its limits..

Her mother wanted her to stay mute for more than 10 years.. Gaslighted her throughout her life.. And then suddenly everything goes wrong and she is the mother of the year?? Honestly these redemption arcs in Kdramas need to stop.. Some people especially parents dont deserve forgiveness that easily..

Now.. The ending... What in the Descendants of the Sun was going on there?? The story completely strayed from its original plot.. And the first half of the last ep was a total disaster.. And why would you even touch a sensitive topic?? That was totally unnecessary.. Honestly its becoming frustrating to say this about every drama.. But Kdrama writers really need to learn how to write better endings.. Is it so hard to give us a one hour happy conclusion??

Overall.. Its a good drama that will keep you entertained for 12 hours.. But once again its a reminder that a strong start and captivating characters can only carry a story so far without a satisfying conclusion.. Still its worth the watch.. Best drama of 2024?? Hell No..

NEED S2 RN!

I thought firstly, this is about a zombie drama where the police man trapped there but when I saw the synopsis, it was totally my genre! Which is a police man who move to a small village with his little family.

I know for the first thing I see the handsome police man, it's going to be great and I can feel it. The curious one wants the truth of what's going on even though it means risk itself.

There's so much thing here, how you can't trust any single of anyone to find the truth of what's going on.. Yet you need someone you can trust to know about it.

I can't spoil too much because I can't even write how I love this drama, this drama really feels like I would totally buy if it was a novels like I usually buy novels like You jeong jeong, if you feel you can't trust anyone. Then this drama is for you.

A Live Action Remake That Could've Been Better

Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed the anime version of Oshi No Ko. I thought it had an interesting enough concept and I loved that they showed the dark reality of the showbiz industry in Japan. But this live action version is a hot mess. I only watched this out of curiosity because I wanted to know how they'd adapt certain aspects of the story. I haven't read the manga so I don't know how it ends. I heard the ending is divisive to say the least. We'll see.

The story is about the most popular J-pop idol, her life, her achievements, her children and the people she affected, and her tragic death. But it also has bits of magical realism and fantastical elements in it since there's a reincarnation angle. Anyways, I can't really delve further into the plot because I've already spoiled a lot just by giving a brief background. Let's just say that the story is full of twists and turns, intrigues, scheming characters, murders, and disturbing events. In other words, it has a lot going on.

The anime did quite well in juggling all this, but the drama, with just 8 episodes in total, didn't. In fact, it nearly made it unwatchable for me. Like practically every anime live action done in Japan, it tries too hard to be like its animated counterpart and that's why most live action adaptations fail. Having (supposedly) naturally blonde-haired Japanese characters is way too uncanny valley for me. They look so unnatural in their blonde wigs, like dollar-store cosplayers attending an anime convention for kicks. The plot progression is weird and confusing with exposition dumps and mostly narration ruining the flow of the story and making it downright cheesy.

Thankfully, the acting was mostly good. I did like the two female leads and the actresses they chose to play them. The male lead is kinda cute. He reminds me so much of the Chinese actor, Xiao Zhan, so I can't complain. I hate how they infantalize women in this, though. I understand that many of them are teens. But come on! Do Japanese teens actually act and speak with annoying baby voices like grade school kids?! Yes, I know that's how it is in the manga and anime, but you see, this is live action where realism is important to sell your story and make it more relatable to the general audience. Japanese filmmakers/writers, in general, seem to have missed that fact. If only (mostly) fans of the source material, J-drama fans, and domestic viewers can understand and appreciate it, then it's not very well made. This is why Japanese media, for the most part, aren't suited for international consumption. They tend to stick to their own style of filmmaking and storytelling, and focus on creating content solely for their local audience.

I'm also disappointed that they took out certain parts and replaced them with far inferior substitutes. One very good example of this is their decision to not adapt the 2.5D stage play and turn it into a drama instead. I understand that the auditorium where the play was held no longer exists in Japan so they can't film there anymore, but they could've just used a regular stage. Stage play adaptations of manga/anime are massively popular in Japan. The drama could've capitalized on that and even promoted them to overseas fans by showcasing that industry in this drama. That was actually one of my favorite parts of the anime because it gave me a glimpse of how stage productions are done in Japan. Instead, they turned Tokyo Blade into a cheap live action drama and gave the actors uninspired and awful-looking costumes. They even changed the story of Tokyo Blade. Was it because of budget constraints? I don't know. I just can't get behind this change.

The dialogues are copy paste from the source material. But most of them fell flat for me because the scenes just didn't have the same impact as the ones in the anime. The payoff wasn't quite there either. The music I just didn't care for. Save for some of the rock songs used for the opening and ending themes, the music is utterly forgettable. As a matter of fact, I had to skip some of the “music video” type scenes because they felt so out of place imho.

This live action drama could've been brilliant if they had done it justice, made it more grounded and realistic, and had a better script, not to mention a more capable director at the helm. But sadly, it pales in comparison to the anime because it doesn't try to do something uniquely different. I wouldn't have minded slight changes to the plot and characterizations as long as they could make it work. They also crammed way too much stuff in just 8 episodes, making the drama feel rushed and underdeveloped. This is your garden variety live action adaptation that further justifies the idea that some things should not be turned into live action at all.

Need a third season

A worthy second season. Park Seo-Joon shined again. I love him in this role of Jang Tae-Sang. You can never have enough seasons of a series that you are excited about. But when the story is finished, you should accept this too. But here I think that this story isn't quite complete yet and needs a third and final season. We also wish the main characters a happy ending. Of course, there isn't always a happy ending. But these two Jang Tae-Sang and Yoon Chae- Ok are really wishful after going through all that. The end credits also give hope for a season 3. I can't imagine Jang Tae-Sang just accepting what Seung-Jo is up to. Or I just have to accept this ending

The cast was good ,the story was perfect until the middle of series , incensario the vague excuse to leave ,the directors didn't use chapters 8-10 to explain the plot very well chapter 11 and 12 should have been the happiest , and could have explained well why the main character left that as a first point ,the second thing I didn't like the main character holding back when hugging the main character, it is known that in the novel he does the opposite and that the main character treats her mother well was like an insult to the Hong Hoo jee in the novel,as a 3 point i loved the kissing scenes and the story in general is very strong and somewhat emotional and the songs of say my name by Yoo Yeon seok amazing and also the song by Lim Yeon Numb really describe how the characters in the drama and the novel feel congratulations for the artists who made these songs, i hope and wish very much to see Yoo Yeon seok and Chae Soo Bin again in other projects together love them and missed them.

A true cinematic masterpiece; watch it, trust me

This series is so beyond the typical mystery BL that it almost feels unfair to put it in that category. The plotline is interesting and the romance is very heartfelt. The internal struggles of the characters is incredibly well done and though it seems predictable at first, there are many unexpected twists.

The mystery genre as a whole can be very hit or miss, plot twists are often so unexpected that they don't make sense with the story or characters, but Spare Me Your Mercy does it right. It subverts your expectations without breaking the flow of the story.

The cinematography is fantastic and adds to the eerie feeling, as does the music. Though I will say, there are some scenes where the music score is unnecessarily dramatic, but I guess it adds to the 'something bad could happen at any moment' vibe.

And the ending is truly one of the best endings I've ever seen. The show stays authentic to the characters and story until the very end. Every loose end gets wrapped up and I was left feeling completely satisfied.

There are a couple "oh my god, why would you do that?!"/"that's so stupid" moments but it wasn't enough to affect the viewing experience (at least for me). Also I know some of the medical practices aren't 100% accurate but it's probably close enough as long as you aren't using this drama to study for med school exams.
