I accidentally stumbled upon this little gem only a day before writing this, but I was immediately hooked. It's not a drama I would typically go for but the cast are easily loveable and the plot (so far) it light-hearted and fun.

Rarely I found the acting quite poor, but this was only on one or two occasions and definitely didn't hinder my enjoyable experience. At times I found the corners of my mouth voluntarily lifting upwards at scenes that, in any other drama, I probably would have just glossed over.

The main male lead... what a voice! The music is great! And I'm only a few episodes in, but I already know this is going on my re-watch list.

That brings me to the episodes themselves. If you're an English speaker like me, it seems you can only watch up to episode 6! I'm hoping someone will come along and put me out of my misery by subbing it (although I've debated watching it raw) so I can continue to watch it.

If anyone knows of a website that has the remainder of the episodes translated, please let me know! Otherwise, WATCH IT!!!

Hmm...

Looks very promising. i'm just hoping it won't be as draggy once were in the middle of the show's episodes.
So far i'm pretty impressed with shin hye's acting, I think she improved; She's been getting so much hate for her acting, even though she's not even bad. I would just say she has a style to her acting. And hyung sik is always a cute puppy.
Although his character is giving me nothing at the moment, i'm hoping to see more of the characters' real personality.
cause i feel like no one is truly carefree. either way i'm ecstatic to see where this goes!

The part about Africa was revolting and racist

I believe more research should be done before stereotyping an entire race or continent in any script. The issue with them presenting Africa in a bad light is revolting 🤮 . this is not only an issue with this drama but I believe is more of a Korean and Chinese film industry issue….this shows how ignorant and unexposed they are to Africa. They should do more research before writing any script that contains any relation to Africa. They have a large audience in Africa yet this shows they have little or no respect for Africans commitment to their industry, the moment I watched episode one I felt disgusted with the drama just the way the characters also felt disgusted about the idea of visiting Africa. Africa is filled with love, culture, colors, vast resources and wealth. And this is just a few I can mention. Yes, they are undeveloped and unexposed places in Africa but so is it in every continent and countries in the world. Most especially Asia. I believe the cast need to apologize to Africans about this. I have travelled the world and I have met different races and people this is why am mentioning my concerns here. Though aside from the African issue the whole script is good I guess.

This drama is really really awesome. Those who like to watch comedy, mysterious and suspicious can come and watch it. I really love its cast.

Fantasy/Historical Genre not my cup of tea - bad plot and production quality

Song of the Moon is another fantasy/historical drama that I dropped. I don't like this genre, and I dropped all of them, like Immortal Samsara, Blue Whisper, etc. The plot is not realistic; hence I cannot relate.

I like Vin Zhang and Xu Lu, but their recent dramas like "A romance of the little forest" by Vin Zhang and "Gentlemen of East 8th; Are you Safe; and Women Walk the Line" by Xu Lu are all bad.

I watched 5 episodes of Song of the Moon and can get myself engaged in this drama, so I am dropping it.

I am also giving this drama a 4.0 rating because of the bad plot and production quality. The CGI is so bad that it hurt my eyes to watch it.

Disappointing

Since the announcement of this series, I knew I was up for disappointment. In this regard We Are did not disappoint me. As a former PondPhuwin fan after watching Never Let Me Go and then Fish Upon the Sky, this series was a huge step back from where I expected this ship to go. I really thought Ponf and Phuwin’s partnership would graduate to something of more substance. But leave it to GMMTV to come out and say they serve a Gen Z audience of schoolgirls in their 2024 lineup announcements.

It’s been my stance that I know Phuwin cannot act and he relies on acting tricks they teach in remedial acting classes. As someone who has taking acting classes I can see all the tricks he uses which a lot of people can spot as poor acting as it has an unnatural cadence about it. I also know Pond isn’t a good actor because he’s inexperienced but he shows promise of being better with more challenging roles. So to be part of this series was a huge let down for not only me but many others who like the PondPhuwin pairing.

First off this was four separate novels combined into one series. This is already a bad formula if Between Us with four couples have shown us. Even with two coupe like Love In The Air, people were already made when two stories were made into one series. This four couple premise is already off to a bad start.

Second, after Never Me Go, this seems like a punishment to regress PondPhuwin back into another school BL when they have graduated from Fish Upon The Sky and went onto Never Let Me Go. Which is about school kids but in an adult setting away from school. Now to send them back to school seems like GMMTV is telling us Pond and Phuwin do not deserve to become adults they are kids so let’s treat the, as such.

Third, how can you put four couple and make this PondPhuwin series seem like a vehicle to promote WinnySatang into lead roles since their success with My School President. It’s giving me nothing but let’s put a secondary side couple in another star couple vehicle and let them build more of a following. You know much like how fans have been asking secondary couple to prove their acting chops off the backs of a more established couple to prove they have star power to be an official couple in a series. WinnySatang is this couple. They are going to make this series their launch pad to spring into a star making vehicle for themselves. If you factor in AuBoom into the equation, you can see this series was a bad move for PondPhuwin to be in. They are definitely going to be overshadowed with equally talented or better actors. The only ones who won’t eclipse PondPhuwin are MarcPoon since they are a new ship dies to the Pawin scandal. But this is the only thing that isn’t going yo steal their thunder.

I know going into this series Phuwin was going to annoy me with his acting. Sure enough it did. He is the epitome of a himbo actor. He is solely relying on his looks to save him on his cringey AF acting. If I have to see him be a total bitch in another role to Pond’s character I’m going to want to punch his RBF. Like how can someone who like like such a bitch all the time with that smirk and side eyes have any friends. Everyone of his characters seems to have a chip on his shoulder while thinking he’s a nice guy deserving the world. This includes his characters in straight series like Wednesday’s Club.

I hate to say it but if Pond needs to play another besotted character who falls for Phuwin’s character I’m going to gag. Must all of his characters be whipped for Phuwin’s characters within 2 episodes. Can we have a Phuwin character really be an errand boy for Pond’s for once and try to get Pond’s character to fall for him or is that not within Phuwin’s acting abilities since he seems like a high maintenance piece of work.

I honestly don’t care for the WinnySatung characters because it’s just another reiteration of PondPhuwins characters. Now we get to AuBoom. I adore Au since Be My Favorite so I know he can act the pants off me. And Boom casted as Pond’s brother. This is too much visual eye candy for me. I like Boom with Au. They are stealing this series for me and I don’t mind.

I’ve always dislike Marc because he’s a bad actor. I don’t know Poon but I hated Pawin for some reason. He always gives me creepy vibes and it can because of his character from Never Let Me Go.

Two episode in and I have to pause on this because so far it is disappointing me in exactly the way expected. As much as I want to support Pond and AuBoom. I cannot take the week by week torture of watching Phuwin making my skin crawl with his cringey acting.

I will wait until this series ends to read the reviews to see if it is worth my time to come back and support Pond and AuBoom.

If your like fluffy shit with rainbows and unicorns then this school series is right up yor alley. Enjoy.

Edit: I had to drop the series after episode 11 because despite the kissing and sex scenes, the series was just too juvenile for me. This series felt like two series mashed into one. Pond, Besevboom, Title, Pepper and Tee are playing in a more mature school BL while JJ, Winny, Satang, Phuwin, Aou, Marc and Poon are playing in a way beyond silly and juvenile grade school BL. The kissing and sex scenes felt pointless and gratuitous at this point. What happened to the plot? Was there one that was seen through instead of being forgotten time and time again? I have never skipped over so many scenes before because I didn’t care for them. There are way too many couples. What was the point of Fai except to just add a female character to not make it a sausage feast. This series left me so disappointed that Pond and phuwin picked this after Never Let Me Go. I really hate New directed BLs after this.

Hppy there is a other season

I have been waiting to watch this season as I have watched the first two seasons already. I enjoy Ahn Hyo Seop I have watched most of his films and I really enjoy his acting. So with the new season out I am looking forward to the casts acting in it and see what has happened to them since the last two season. I am hoping for more thrilling drama from the cast as they did in the other two seasons. So here is hoping a other good season to the other two seasons. I guess as many may know that this kind of drama does not come round often so it will be a very exciting to watch this season if it, is as good as the first two then here is hoping that if there is a other cliff hanger they make a other season. But I am sure most of you out there will be hoping for the same thing as I do that it will be a drama worth watching over and over again. So I hope all of you out there are waiting to watch it and excited for what is in store for the new season. So enjoy watching the new season everyone and to all the cast and crew who made it possible for a other season thank you for making it possible to have this season to watch.

This is one of those "if you're okay with a mindless plot" dramas. It's lighthearted, has a very pretty cast, and doesn't care about the plot too much.
If you're like me and can't stand it when there's too many cliche things and dumb plot lines then skip it. If you're like everyone else here who can somehow stand the random flowers and rainbows the drama shoves down your throat, go ahead and watch~ But I gotta say the ML is super hot and actually kinda cool in the first few episodes,, and the FL is cute and quirky,, it's why I watched 11 episodes and then quit...

By cliche scenes, I mean when the ML keeps picking up the FL bride and groom style all the time for no reason, is too over-protective, always saves the day etc etc. FL sometimes takes her own stand but its not enough. Better than some others I've seen though, especially the first quarter was good. I like the whistling ost in the beginning too~

¿Por qué innovar una historia tan buena?

Probablemente esta reseña estará ligada a compararla con el anime, pues no es algo que se pueda evitar. Me disculpo de antemano, pero se supone que es un "Live Action", lo cual implica que se debe respetar la historia con el fin de adaptarla fielmente al contar con la participación de actores. Sin embargo, por esa misma razón caemos en la crítica hacia esta versión cuando la comparamos con la saga de películas del Live Action, ya que es el modelo más cercano a la idea que supuestamente se debería tener para este dorama. Entonces me pregunto, ¿Por qué esta serie tiene tanto puntaje en lo particular? ¿Acaso es tan buena que merece la pena arriesgarse a verla?
La respuesta la obtuve de inmediato con solo ver el primer capítulo. Me encontré con un proyecto en donde quisieron pasarse de listos, y optaron por crear algo "genial" hasta el punto de tergiversar detalles, que a aquellos que no conocen la historia original se les pasaría por alto, pero para los que conocemos la trama sabremos que son tan importantes que cambia todo el contexto de una manera abismal.
Comenzaremos por Light Yagami. En el anime es un personaje que representa el modelo del joven ciudadano ideal. Es inteligente, estudioso, guapo, buen hijo, carismático a su modo de ser, y un compañero que es correcto, invitando a cada espectador a ser atraído por él cuando se revela que en el fondo el chico contiene una naturaleza oscura. Es un ser con sed de venganza que desea castigar a todos los criminales del mundo, en tanto que tiene la visión de convertirse en un verdadero dios para la humanidad. Light es un personaje que no decae ante alguna amenaza, porque sabe llevar con éxito la sorpresa, y por su gran habilidad en estrategia crea planes muy bien desarrollados, a pesar de que se alimenta tanto de la oscuridad que termina por ser un asesino en serie y un psicópata. En Death Note (2015) a Light lo representan como un chico que le gusta ver a Misa cantar (cuando ni siquiera sentía un ápice de interés por ella en el anime), es débil, asustadizo, tiene un trabajo de medio tiempo (no sabe leer inglés con fluidez, a diferencia del anime en donde sí se defiende muy bien con el idioma), y constantemente llora cuando entra en pánico, dando a entender que el muchacho al que contemplamos no puede ser el mismo chico al que esperábamos ver.
Por otro lado está "L". Se supone que L es una persona con Asperger lo cual implica que ve el mundo desde otra perspectiva. Es alguien que a pesar de su condición mantiene una ternura en su interior que enamora a la audiencia con solo descubrir su verdadera personalidad. Es un chico que a pesar de ser el detective más inteligente y capacitado del mundo, mantiene una gran humildad porque muy en el fondo desea conseguir amigos, además de su gran obsesión por los dulces. En esta versión por el contrario L es un chico prepotente, que le exige a su mayordomo constantemente caprichos sin siquiera decir un "por favor" ni un "gracias", y lo colocan como alguien que solo sirve para exhibir una cara bonita con abdominales, al fin y al cabo para ser un adolescente cliché en modo ¿Guay y rebelde?
Esos son algunos de los muchos cambios ridículos que le hicieron, los cuales me decepcionaron tanto que decidí abandonarla. Incluso, me esforcé por terminar de ver el capítulo 1 por si hallaba al final una mínima esperanza que me hiciera cambiar de opinión. Solo encontré en ello a un shinigami payaso, que no aporta el lado oscuro que se supone que la serie tiene que tener, a la madre de Light ausente por muerte, a un Light a quien odia a su padre, y a una Misa que no aporta el mismo carisma que la original, pues su comportamiento no es soso.
Aquí es donde caemos en la comparación con la saga de películas, pues es imposible que estas mismas abarcaran todo lo necesario debido al corto tiempo con que contaban. Aún así con todas las modificaciones que le hicieron, respetaron el orden de la historia, y supieron conservar la verdadera esencia de cada personaje o pieza clave para armar el rompecabezas, teniendo a un Light que sabía fingir cuando le convenía, a un L de personalidad peculiar, y a una Misa alegre y terca que estaba dispuesta a defender a su amor a cualquier precio.

En resumidas cuentas:
A la actuación de Death Note (2015) le doy un 2/10 porque no conseguía olvidar ni por un minuto que estaban actuando, todo el tiempo lo hacían de un modo poco profesional, lo que lo hacía demasiado forzado. La música ni siquiera la recuerdo, tampoco me causó el impacto necesario para querer buscarla y descargarla, así que le doy un 1/10. Obviamente no la volvería a ver, teniendo otras versiones que sí son fieles a la original, por esto le doy un 1/10. Y finalmente la historia, le doy un 5/10 pues la idea tiene la base de la original, aunque es producida desde una perspectiva demasiado pobre, y prepotente. Lo cual, sumando a todo da un total de 2.5/10 lo que me parece justo, porque tenían todo el material para sacarle provecho y hacer de ello una gran obra, pero al final se conformaron con ser "cool".

¿Mi consejo? No veas esta serie si ya viste el anime y/o las películas. Sino los has visto aún, te recomiendo que no te des mala vida y veas el anime y los films que te recomiendo, porque esta sin duda no es Death Note.
