Catastrophy
Watching this felt like a bag of chips, 99% air and 1% something. You do get some cat action in the first 2 episodes then turns into a whatever triangle.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
There was an attempt
The beginning was unbelievable boring, it took about halfway through the drama before it started to be "decent" enough. I miss the days when thriller/mystery didn't feel the need to pad itself with side cases to keep viewers attention. I always find this structure to be flawed even when these side cases are slightly related to the main one. In the case of this drama, I would prefer if it was a constant confrontation with the main villain instead of sprinkled hints and tons of flashbacks. Speaking of villains, none of them interested me, was kinda disappointed after 16 episodes of teasing of the masked villain. Low-key kinda like an anime villain. The villain identity felt like a last minute decision instead of a calculated one. The young leads were fine but a bit bland, I would prefer more rigid actors which would suit the drama better.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

It's okay...
Too much time wasted on the love triangle/square while the terminal illness was brought to attention way too late. It's definitely one of the weaker tearjerkers. The earlier parts were funny and interesting but I couldn't bring myself to like the later parts, they were so dry and bland. The drama didn't do a good job in portraying that deep connection needed for any tearjerker drama. On the other hand, I was glad to see Kang Hye Jung in a 1st main lead. It's a rarity in her short career, usually it's either 2nd lead or support.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
!
Even if we were to disregard what happened to the drama, it's still not good. Right from the beginning, episode 1 was straight up bad and it never got better. Even as a stand alone Joseon or time-travel drama, it's wonky and tacky. This drama got more holes than a swiss cheese. It reminds me of one of those Isekai anime where the dude transfer to another world with his smartphone/knowledge/expertise or anything give him an advantage which also allow for a very lazy writing to fill up a big chunk of episodes.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
If only the first 2/3 were better....
The whole husband death and force adoption was moronic to the nth degree. Not encouraging to keep watching at all. You know what else isn't encouraging? The chemistry between the leads. The man looks older than his real age and this only made the gap even bigger. You also get the following: unsatisfactory cringy payoff, child-like screechy mother-in-law, masochist doormat female lead, and a spoiled unlikable scumbag 2nd lead. This made the road to redemption unconvincing and remained so till the end. Although it got a teeny tiny bit better but the first 65 episodes remained utterly garbage. I know the writer wanted us to hate the mother-in-law but the least they could do at the end is to give her a terminal illness or just kill her. Judging by the writer's other projects, no wonder this was bad. She stopped writing since 2015 and I hope she never come back.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Solid
Great drama from Noh Hee Kyung pre 2010. The drama is definitely unique for its genre. These relationships and bonds were unlike any other. I didn't get such a strong familial bond from other family focused dramas unlike this one. The same can be said about Mi Su love relationship, they fell so hard for each other it's heartbreaking. It's one of the hardest aspects of writing to nail complex characters. It's not perfect but a solid package for sure. It's been a while since a drama left me empty.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Watchable but didn't quite deliver
Good choice for casting female leads but a very poor one for casting both male leads. Where did they get them? From the back alley? Weak screen presence and no chemistry with neither of their female counterparts. Unfortunately, the looks are deceiving and we didn't get what we initially thought. Just from watching the first 1/4 you may think this is about family relationships, sisters relationships and mother-daughter relationships but that was only a small part (20 eps in total?) before switching to an unnecessary work place competition and love triangle quarrels. Other dynamics were neglected too, like the other two sisters from the poor family with their old/new sister or like the troublemaker father with either of the daughters. The climax was weak, it gave all the attention and screen time to the love interest instead of the family as a whole which made Geum Ran's conclusion amongst the weakest because the drama ran out of time to even consider giving her a real wrap up other than a generic sudden change of character one. I liked the drama initially and its set up but it didn't quite deliver.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Had a chance....
The 2nd lead syndrome in this is very strong. Hyun Woo is just too superior, he stole the show. There was almost no chemistry between FL and Young Min despite being the male lead. All the chemistry went to FL and Hyun Woo. The drama was fine for the first 81 episodes then it took a hard left turn and everything started to crumble. Yet again, it took another extreme left turn after episode 102 with all the fiasco including Seo Young and Hyun Woo's mother. The drama had potential but there were too many fuck ups in the writing departments.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

If only the writer put in a little bit more effort...
At first glance it seemed interesting with the impulse control disorder which quickly turned out to be a very poorly written plot device. Around mid way the disorder became whatever the writer wish it to be then it completely disappeared without any mention or cure as if it never happened despite being a major plot point at the beginning and part of the drama's dvertisement. Apparently it's easier to write a generic story-line instead of attempting something slightly different. Anyway, the drama had also an awful love story-line, both were mostly awkward and had no chemistry or whatsoever. The romance was only included out of obligation, might as well remove it.The drama also had pacing issues whether it's regarding the main story or any of the side ones. The main story felt limited in the number of characters it involved, there were mainly 6 characters it was cycling through. There was a desperate need to include more characters to contribute to the main story. The support characters weren't given enough attention and most of their stories were cut short anyway. I low-key wanted to see more of the erratic behavior of Se Yeon's sister. Aside from the earlier parts, the drama didn't have anything interesting.

A big no....
The drama was shot nicely and had a great cast behind it but my god it was utterly boring, brain-dead and uninspired. The writing/dialogue is just too lame as it is, you can feel the cast was struggling to work with it. How the ML behaved was comical and people call it realistic! This is both the director's and writer's first project but it's hard to over look these things. Hope to see Jang Na Ra in better projects.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Disappointing...
Not a fan of the ending, in fact, the entire last 2 episodes were straight up disappointing. Seriously, what did the ML accomplish or gain at the end? Almost nothing. It's like he tricked his mind to think he finished his revenge. The cast was good but I ended up disliking everything else. The drama is a waste of time if you aren't a fan of the cast.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
