Could've used the screentime better
Overall the drama left me with good feelings, I like how it ended and that's what's most important to me.However, I think the biggest drawback is how they didn't elaborate on Myul Mang's past. The scene where they first meet (in the funeral parlor) could've been explained to us? Why was he crying? Who was he mourning? What role did that person play in Doom's life?
There were so many unnecessary moments while I was waiting for Myul Mang's backstory. And sadly we didn't get it at all.
Another thing that bothered me so much was them forgetting each other. If the Deity Girl was super detailed (according to Doom), how come she didn't wipe them out of each other's lives completely? Or did she leave those hints (e.g. Doom's lockscreen) on purpose? That wasn't explained at all, unfortunately.

Not as bad as they say
I think Start-Up doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. The setting was really nice — I'm not familiar with the startup world at all, so it was interesting, especially given that a vocabulary is provided each episode.
The setup was amazing. Seeing how it evolved and what consequences it brought was amusing and engaging, honestly. I proceeded to the next episode right after, it got me so caught up in the story.
It is actually the first drama where I would be fine with the main character choosing either love interest. They both seem to fit her in the different ways. Seeing them actually compete was hilarious at times.
Family is an important aspect of Start-Up. It is also the part where I teared up the most. Some lessons were made, albeit clichey and obvious. Actually, every time grandma appeared on the screen made me cry.
The drama has its issues, too. Some moments were unnecessary dramatic. Some moments made me think "wtf am i watching right now". Some parts could've been a lot better.
But still, Start-Up made me laugh, and cry, and motivated, and confused between which LI to root for. It made me emotional. I don't expect a cinematic masterpiece out of the dramas. So I enjoyed it very much.

You have to watch till the end
I only started watching this drama because I'm a fan of Lee Do Hyun and was actually really hyped for this to come out. And he didn't disappoint — I fell in love with Hwang Hee Tae in the first episode. Not to mention LDH's topnotch acting. However, Hee Tae was basically the only reason why I kept on watching. While I don't blame the plot and pace, the first half just didn't lure me in. I was constantly checking how much time is left and often got distracted.
Despite that, I continued to watch and am so thankful I did. Because the second half, especially the last three episodes, made me a sobbing, crying mess. Finally, I felt the heaviness of the protests and their suppression, the deep connection Hee Tae had with Myeong Hee, the bond between Myeong Hee's father and her. It all came flooding.
Soo Ryeon's character was the only one I didn't sympathize with (aside from Ki Nam), though. I do think she could've had better development.
The children were adorable. Can't spoil much, but the boys were really brave for their age and it was endearing to witness them understand what family meant to them.
Youth of May shows romance, families, and friendships and how different and tragic they can be. It also tells how our choice affects our life. And even though you might have regrets later on, you should be happy you made the choice where you put yourself first.
