Fall in Love With Me Episode 2

I rather liked this episode. The way Aaron’s been playing Tian Xing and Xiao Lu, it seems like Xiao Lu is a way for him to be carefree, and more true to himself. I also really like how the drama has set him up as a challenger to Tao Zi, so that even in both personas he’s guiding her, rather than just being a prick for the sake of being a prick. I hope to see Tao Zi really grow over this series, but so far Tian Xing seems to be pretty perfect. Huan Huan (side girl character) is annoying, but I suppose that is her purpose. Ting Wei is mostly just sad looks so far, so I hope he has more interesting screen time (and expressions).

I don’t really have much to critique Tia Li on yet – she hasn’t shown herself to be a horrible actress, but hasn’t really been good either. Time will tell I guess! (NOTE: I haven’t seen her in anything before!). Aaron plays the two personalities well, though hopefully he will develop them more!

Lovestore at the Corner Episode 1

Flashbacks between the past and present are used to ever so slowly tease the viewer with the events that occurred. Ke Jie's boyfriend Shu Lei seems to love his girlfriend very much, and is distraught over her disappearance. He imagines her in brief moments of panic, and largely remains a shrunken version of his flashback self. Shu Lei plays the part of the guilty boyfriend well - and his growing belief that Ke Jie saw him cheat the other day becomes a mantra he repeats not only to himself but to Xin Ni (the bestfriend) as well. Xin Ni struggles with her own desire for happiness and pain at always being second rate in this episode, which the actress does a wonderful job of displaying through her breakdowns in the office.
Ke Jie's family reacts to the news in different ways - Ke Jie's mother resorts to superstition to try and call her daughter back, while Ke Jie's father personally searches the mountain where she was last seen. Neither can come to grips with the eminent reality of her death. Strangely enough though, Ke Jie's sister Ke Xing seems to be the least affected by her sister's disappearance. Though she wears a sad face in the first episode while comforting her mother, her pain at her sister's loss seems two-dimensional at this point in comparison to the volatile outbursts from her mother and the quiet rage from Xin Ni.
All in all definitely a worthwhile watch, and the OST is absolutely divine. :)
