Okay so first of all, I've seen many comments on people who dislike the film due to the fact that Dew gets reincarnated as a female. In my personal opinion, I saw nothing wrong with that. Here's why:
The movie focuses on the deep love and affection between our two main leads Pob, whom I would call the main main character, and Dew/Lew, who are the same person but Lew being the reincarnation. I can see why many take this love story as specifically homosexual love, the first half of the film and the main beginning of the romance happens with two male characters, which gives the viewer an impression that "oH, this must mean they're gay", which is not wrong, since both Pob and Dew confirm that they are. See, the reason why the chosen couple in the beginning of this storyline are homosexual is due to the time it is set in. Here being gay is looked down upon and more or less a taboo topic. Here is why the second half of the film (the present part) does not include the same trope, it's present day and taboos change. Being homosexual, especially in Thailand, is not necessarily a taboo thing anymore, times have changed. This is why the reincarnation of Dew, Lew, is a younger female. It's the new taboo, the age-gap, which has become more looked down upon compared to homosexuality.
This shows that no matter how much society does not accept their love, these two will still be feeling the same things. Whether they're gay or there's a huge age difference.
- sorry if the explanation was messy, I had a hard time formulating my theory, but I hope it somewhat made sense -

Story-wise, I give this a 7 due to the fact that it can be misunderstood easily and there's a few plot holes here and there. It tried to cramp two story arcs in around 2 hours, which rushed it a bit. I would honestly prefer this to be a mini series, where one could come more in depth into the story. The ending made sense to me. It creates a loop, and opens up for further theories. It is not their end, but solely their continuation.

The cast did a great job. Ohm's crying scenes started of a tiny bit weak imo, but after he finally let the tears fall, I could feel the emotions. The chemistry was nice as well.

I really enjoyed the music too, nothing necessarily memorable, but it played a good counterpart with the visuals of the film.

I wouldn't rewatch this film, as I don't think the same spark will be present. You could watch each arc as their own short film for some nice chemistry, but overall I don't find this movie having any rewatch value.

It was a nice film and had great aspects of acting, visuals, and music. The story was decent as well, but not my favorite. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the film.

Tbh, I'm a fan of cheesy romcoms and this one had all the tropes I usually like from this genre, but I don't think it was as good as people out it to be?

Briefly, let me explain.
I understand how the first few episodes she views him the eyes of adoration, but his flirtatious nature was already present from the very beginning and that was really off putting to me. I know some people can have flirtatious personalities, just like he does, but to act like that towards your best friend's sister who is 5 years younger than you? When she's still a minor? Nah I'm sorry but that really threw me off. I'm not screaming pedophelia like some other people here but I still found it a bit weird.
With that being said, they really did have good chemistry. The later episodes were so sweet and they were adorable. Nothing I would say was mind-blowing, but compared to other C-dramas it was pretty good. Their acting wasn't bad, they managed to make scenes which could've been extremely cringy feel fairly natural, I was surprised. But with that being said there were still times where it felt forced. I don't blame the actors per se, more so the script itself felt unnatural. It is fiction, but it felt like a fan novel come to life at times, especially in the dialogue. That made it difficult for the actors to act convincingly 100% of the time. It would go back and forth with natural and non-natural.
Plot wise, nothing special. It's been done before, it's nothing new, they didn't add anything new to it. It made it easier to watch, yes, but I honestly had to skip through some scenes cause nothing really grasped my attention. I gave it a high rewatch value due to it fitting as a comfort show, and the music was nice.

Overall, it was a cute watch. Nothing I would say is special but I understand why people like it. It's easy to watch, they chemistry is nice, and they actors are attractive. But besides that nothing in it made it the masterpiece that some people make it out to be. We all have different opinions, so if you enjoyed it to that extent, I'm happy for you, can't relate though lmao

Enjoyable binge

As mentioned by another review, if this drama has come out a few years prior my rating would've been higher. With that being said, this is not a bad show.
The pacing is good and it's relatively easy to watch. With only a few really dramatic parts, it will not give you a headache nor make you want to punch a character through the screen.
I binged this in around 2 days during the weekend after a sudden burst of wanting to watch something short and sweet, which was more or less what I got.
Let me tear this review down into parts, to make it more approachable.

Plot:
The plot is nothing outstanding. It's fairly simple. There's no need to think, because everything is served in front of you. As any other mediocre series, you will ask some questions to make you interested in the upcoming episodes and MGAYG does so very subtle, in a way that the questions you ask are in no way important as such, but still carry enough importance for you to continue watching.
The couples were cute and I liked the sudden set up of a new couple at the latter half of the show. That was refreshing to watch, and also a bit unexpected. I really enjoyed that. Another thing I really liked, was the focus on important things such as safe sex, as well as mentioning bisexuality (our bisexual king Pure, who isn't really that pure). BL's have a tendency to forget that bisexuals exists so I was glad that they had a bisexual character portrayed rather realistically-ish. That pleased me.
As mentioned prior, this is very easy to watch and binge all at once, despite the ending feeling a bit rushed due to a conflict, which for some reason was placed in the second to last episode. Despite this, we still got a satisfying ending with all ties tied up, leading to no plot holes left (not that the plot was complicated enough to even create holes to begin with). 6/10.

Acting:
This part is a half half for me. Fiat was my favorite here. I've seen him in many of his prior works and he's a talented guy, who really did well portraying his character. If it weren't for him, the rest of the cast would seem a bit lackluster in my opinion. The majority of the cast are fairly new faces, and this is something that can be seen. Not that they are bad at acting. They all did a good job delivering their lines in a fairly convincing manner. I wasn't cringed out by their acting, but with that being said, they weren't the best actors either. It was decent and bearable. 6.5/10.

Music:
Nothing really stood our for me here. It fit the atmosphere, which they wanted to create for the scenes but the music was pretty typical, nothing outstanding but nothing misplaced either. The music did it's job. 5/10.

Rewatch value:
The respective couples had some pretty cute scenes, which I wouldn't mind rewatching. The chemistry was nice. Other than that, I probably wouldn't rewatch anything else. 5/10.

As mentioned in another review, this show is NOT a high-star series. The editing and placement of the various storylines create quite a mess if looked at with an overall viewpoint. But here's the catch, despite the unbalanced screentime and the confusing start, each couple has a really nice story of their own. If you separated Fighter & Tutor and Zon & Saifah's stories and made them into their own small miniseries it would be great. Each storyline goes well on their own and is what makes this an enjoyable watch.
I do wish that there were more focus on some of the smaller couples as well, as I saw potential in each of them, but in reality, many of the couples could've been omitted from the main series, to create a smoother and less confusing show. These couples were somewhat just thrown in to simply add more couples, which is fine if you're able to convey their arcs in a good way, which sadly Why R U did not manage to do. The stories were nice, but cut way too short, giving the viewer a difficult time to fully enjoy the couples. One was suddenly rushed due to them not having screen time for the majority of the last episodes, and another one just seemed to suddenly disappear and show up again in the last episode. Honestly, these couples weren't needed, the show could've been just fine with its main focus being on only FTTT and Saizon.

With that being said, the acting was really nice. The weakest actor of the main 4 comes from Jimmy who played Saifah imo. He was not bad as per se, but he was also nowhere near as good as either Saint (Tutor) or/and Zee (Fighter). The reason why Tommy wasn't mentioned next to those two, is because he lays on the 2nd place on my list, with Saint and Zee having a shared 1st, he did great at portraying the character that Zon was. His face was full of great expressions but there were times where he lacked, but both Tommy and Jimmy are getting there, so just give them a few more acting jobs and they'll be able to seal the deal.
Saint is great as always. I've only ever seen him in Love By Chance, and although I see similarities in both Pete and Tutor, Tutor is definitely a much more outspoken character, and it was nice to see Saint play someone whose personality is close to his irl persona.
As for Zee, it was my first experience with him and he did great. His eyes said tons and oof you can't forget his crying in ep 12, that shit hurt. I'll make sure to keep my eye out for him in the future.
I can't really say much about the other actors, as I don't personally think they got enough time to show off their potential.

Despite the unfairness of the screentime, this show was still enjoyable. The abundance of FTTT made me miss Saizon tons, and the fulfillment was great when they finally got their screentime. I can't wait for their special.
The plot tho, if you ommit FTTT and Saizon's main arcs, was messy. What happened to Zon's sister? Her role was much larger in the beginning but she suddenly disappeared. Also, Hwahwa moved on so damn fast, it was pretty funny ngl. But the way they showed Day, in the beginning, made me believe that their storyline would be more fulfilling, but everything happened so fast and suddenly they were out of the picture, which was sad as I would've loved to see their development better.

To conclude,
Why R U is an entertaining show if you don't take it too seriously. Ignore the messiness of the side plots and the unbalanced screentime and you'll get two great relationships to follow. The chemistry is great and the kiss scenes are there in an abundance (FTTT, I'm looking at you). Stay for the chemistry and not the structure and you'll be sure to have a great time.

And tbh, despite not liking the theme song, I jam to it everyday.

The movie had me thinking, a lot.
I was not informed on method acting before I watched this film, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a film called "Method". Honestly, I came for the gay. Especially since I saw that it was Korean and the cast list surprised me as well, so I wanted some confirmation if it really was as gay as I expected it to be.
Let me just say, By the end of the film, I was left with questions, so many of them. The chemistry between the leads is amazing, it even fooled me. I was drawn into their method acting, that I completely forgot it was just that. Acting. I rewatched the film a few months after, wanting to know what exactly it was that had happened, now more well informed in what exactly method acting was. This piece of information helped me tremendously with understanding the concept of the film.
The title suits the film, and actually gives the viewer a good grasp of what the film is about. The pacing of the film is nice, starting from the auditions, to the preparations of the act (which is where the majority of the movie takes place) and ends with the act being shown. The time period of the movie isn't that long, and everything happens rather quickly, which is great as it keeps one on their feet. I've never seen a movie about method acting before, and this movie fascinated me. The idea of an actor being so engraved in their role, that they manage to lock out the reality around them, they forget their true identities because their mindset has been deeply infatuated by the role they're playing. It was really interesting.
As mentioned earlier, I got fooled too by Youngwoo, just like Jaeha did. And it didn't even phase me until I realized that oh shit, everything was an act the entire time.

The reason for the low rewatch value, is due to the fact that I don't see myself rewatching this more than 3 times. I've seen it twice, but after the second time of finally understanding the plot, I don't see myself enjoying the film as much as I did the first few times. This is my only personal negativity about it. Everything else sold me.

Really good if you stop comparing

This show was a wonderful watch, it was exciting, nervewrecking, and heartwarming at times. I've been a fan of the webtoon since it's early episodes and have been reading and following along until it's end. Obviously as a reader of the original comic, you will naturally compare. But after hearing that this series adaptation would not follow the plot of the webtoon dot by dot, I tried my best to watch it and enjoy it as a separate thing. The webtoon was not finished as the series was filming, so it makes sense why they would change up some things. If you stop comparing every scene with the webtoon, you will enjoy this show much more. Trust me on this.

Now for the actual review of the show. Sweet Home was ambitious. The CGI lacks at points (the blood of the monsters being what irked me the most), but it wasn't bad. The movements and colouring were well done, they were pretty seemlessly placed into this world. At times it looked like a video game (the protein monster as well as the one missing the top of its head) but that somehow added to the suspense. It felt like you were the one killing these monsters, as if you were playing a game. At other parts, the CGI looked so real. The wings in the last episode were breathtaking, the womb was heartbreaking. Overall, despite the CGI not being fully consistent in it's animation, it still looked really good. The acting was amazing. I've known of a good handful of these actors from their previous work, so I have nothing bad to say about it. They did an amazing job as usual. The editing was a mixture. For the most part, the cuts were well timed and the plot and timeline were easy to follow BUT there were also times, where some of the cuts were questionable. Twice did they zoom into Hyunsoo's face rather dramatically, only to cut it over to a whole different scene. In all honesty, that made me chuckle, it was a really awkward editing decision. In episode 3 or 4, where Han Dusik, was moved to the ground floor, there the editing and pace was too fast. He had earlier gestured how he wasn't able to get downstairs due to being on a wheelchair, and suddenly he did it with ease? They could've at least had shown the process. They did mention in a dialogue later on, that it was due to using the elevator, but I feel like they could've been more explicit about it. It ruined the purpose of him being stuck in his room for so long. Another thing, which I believe could've been shown more too, was how they trapped all the monsters. In the latter half of the series, they seem to easily roam around the upper floors. Somehow all the monsters are gone. They briefly showcased it in the first half, but it could've been more detailed, so that it didn't seem like all monsters vanished overnight.

Despite some flaws in editing and pacing, Sweet Home is overall a wonderful show. And with an ending like so, I can only wish for a season 2. (and also an adaptation for Bastard, please)
