What kind of scriptwriting is this? Why is the rating 7.9? This drama is basically as unrealistic as the original “Cinderella” but more agitating.

I think this is the first Cinderella story where I find the female lead annoying, and I can say that I’m quite fond of Cinderella stories. The male leads I can overlook how disgustingly selfish they are, they’re rich, many rich people in real life are unimaginably worse than them, but the female lead I can’t get over with.

i hated that the female actors didn’t know her boundaries, why the habit of touching other peoples stuff? The female lead was selfish and yet the story made it like her actions were justified. And what it it with Hye Ji’s obsession with Hyun MIn? It took such a long time for the story to explain their history, then it turns out there wasn’t even a romantic history between them. They were just childhood friends that didn’t see each other for a long time. Like, duh? What made Hye Min think it was even love, if there was even any? And the “not marrying someone that isn’t of our kind” BS is so overused but in this drama, they made it hypocritical. Why did the grandfather marry his latest wife then, when she was a nobody? Did he forget to do a background check?

I watched this drama because of the lockdown and because I was too bored to keep searching for better dramas. I finished it with much teeth gritting, head shaking and eye rolling. I also skipped the “evil” stepmother and stepsister, grandfather and his wife, and Hyun Min-Hye Ji-Ji Woon scenes, because they were either annoying and/or not that significant for me. That’s an additional tip for you if you still wanna keep watching.

***Why does Jung Il Woo look so old here? Ahn Jae Hyun was supposed to be older than him in the drama but JIW looked older than him and the secretary ahjusshi even. And why were his eyes always red?

This is such a beautiful story.. short and sweet yet so very deep.. so much lessons to learn. It's not just a story about love, but of life itself. That sometimes, in life, we get so caught up with all that's happening around us, we get so wrapped up in ourselves, that we forget what's most important. We take for granted the most basic but essential things in life. This story makes you pause and think about such things. You may think it's a simple story, but if you think hard enough, you could relate to almost every scene, almost every character, or at least, one or two situations has been in our thought at least once. A lovely story that makes you reflect about life, basically.

Oh, and the music, there's nothing more annoying for me than a drama that keeps playing the same song/s over and over without regard if it's apt for the scene. This drama barely has music, so that just suits me fine. ????

This drama should have been entitled, “Jjajangmyeon”, it’s the only thing that is consistent, everything else was inconsistent. From start to finish, it was just Jjajangmyeon”. Characters came and gone, but not the Jjajangmyeon. Na-ah. I can’t repeat Jjajangmyeon often enough, because Jjajangmyeon is what this drama is just all about. The drama started out promising, like, it had all the ingredients for a good drama, but sadly, the writers failed to make an outstanding dish out of it. As I mentioned, the Jjajangmyeon was all that was consistent in the story, everything else was all over the place. I tried so hard to finish it, but I just couldn’t. I tried so hard to like it, the premise was good, it had my number one requirement for a watchable drama, too, that is, no overly annoying antagonists (though Sae Woo’s mother was pretty annoying, the character itself is annoying, it’s not even unrelated to the main leads). The main leads were cute, too. Most would say, they did not have chemistry, but I'd say, the story just did not allow their romance to develop enough to see it. Needless to say, I dropped this drama. It’s my first time saying this for any drama: I wasted my time on this.

I’m surprised that this doesn’t have a much higher rating. It is a 15 minute, 20 episode simple story, that’s like a breeze to watch. No overly complicated plots, no annoying antagonists, just a story about two clueless people whose lives couldn’t be any more different find themselves in a blossoming love story. Choi Se Hoon is portrayed here as a narcissist, and Jung Il Woo played him so well. His narcissistic character was very consistent throughout the story, unlike Park Seo Joon’s Lee Young Joon in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim in which his narcissistic character was poorly written. I do not agree with the nay sayers who complain that the story is chiche, I say, the way the story played out, the acting, their lines and the interactions were far from it.

JIW is a very good comedic actor, he has good comedic timing, he especially plays eccentric/looney characters so well. He doesn’t look like he’s trying too hard and he isn’t over acting it. However, I cannot say the same for the female lead, she wasn’t stand out at all. But this drama is worth the watch even if it’s just for the character Choi Se Hoon and his scenes with Section Chief Heo and his psychiatrist, Jong Hyun. Heo is so loveable. He badmouths Choi Se Hoon so much, but takes care of him so much more. Such a loyal sidekick. Their interactions are so fun to watch.

i stumbled upon this drama together with Put Your Head on My Shoulder when I was searching for C-Dramas to watch. I watched them interchangeably, as they were both ongoing when I started. I even blamed myself for watching an ongoing drama because it was a struggle waiting for the next episodes. Good thing this aired three times a week, with two episodes a day, on Youtube when I watched it. But whereas PYHOMS, I’ve totally lost interest at Episode 21 (Note: i only watched that far because I was waiting for LCDF’s next episodes) because I found it too shallow for me, with not much going on, LCDF on the other hand, was so captivating for me that it did not even make me skip any scenes, nary a one. Even the flashbacks, which were oftentimes annoying or confusing in most dramas, were aside from shedding light to story, they, more often than not, came with such sweet or funny scenes that would make you look forward to them even.

Although at some points of the drama I looked forward to the Guanchao-Wuyi pair more, but never enough to skip any Yan Mo and Qiao Yi scenes. Although there are tons of the smart guy-ditzy girl stories out there, I could say, there’s none more compatibly written than these two. They complemented each other like no other that every interaction was either so stinking sweet or hilariously funny. Yan Mo’s nonchalant demeanour was so well acted by Zhang Yu Jian it’s so funny every time. And Janice Wu.. I can’t remember any actress that plays the ditzy girl that does not come off as annoying, but Janice, just like in My Sunshine, she plays the dumb girl without being annoying, instead she makes it even cute and endearing.

This drama is such a breeze to watch, with neither annoying characters nor scenes. I can’t say it’s a fluffy drama because although half, if not more, of it happened while they were in school, it tackled other life stuff aside from the normal school happenings. But everything just meshed so well together that the story flowed almost seamlessly.

I liked the chemistry of Zhang Yu Jian and Janice Wu, Zhao Zhi Wei and Ma Li. You could see from the BTS how comfortable they were with each other. Every couple in the story was so cute, even the unlikely couple, Dauchan and Youmei. And Guanchao’s and Qiaoyi’s parents! They bicker so much but it’s never annoying or tiring.

All in all, this is one fine love story. A story that, after watching it, just makes you sigh and smile. Not one that, althugh surely you’d wanna keep watching them, but it does not give you the feeling that there should be more. Not an extra episode or a special. It’s just made complete as it is. A love that has come full circle.

It's an advertisement more than a drama. A filler drama for the super bored.

This is an advertisement, not a drama. I mean, it’s not just a case of the usual Chinese drama plagued with product placements, it’s a blatant straight up advertising.

Story: This does not make sense in ways I don’t even know where to begin. The guy is from year 2015 vs the present 2020! Why did they make it in such a way that he acts like he’s dumb or alien to the modern world? If you time travelled, wouldn’t your first instinct be to look for the you in the present you’re in? It’s not like he’s from another country, too. He’s still from China! And even if he comes back to 2015, his memory would still be his, and would still remember her and they could look for each other. As it is, they began dating but didn’t even exchange info or plan what to do in case he disappears when from the get-go they knew he’d come back to 2015. like, wtf?

Acting: The guy’s acting is weird, too. He acts like a robot if you ask me. Again, he’s just from 2015, not from Pluto! It’s not like 2015 was the Jurassic Period and lacked technology. It’s not like he’s dead, too, and now he’s a ghost that there’s no way to figure out things. The girl’s acting is okay on the other hand. Like, more natural than the guy’s. The other actor role is irrelevant for me. With or without him, the drama would stand the same.

I’d say, this could pass as a filler drama, an in between drama kind of watch. When you’re done with a drama you’re still hang up with and can’t or don’t wanna start a new one yet but want to pass the time, this could be it for you. It’s light enough to to not play with or engage your emotions. It’s not for me, though. Light it may be, I just can’t get past the thought that it still is a nonsensical script. It may be 2 hours short but I can’t remember the times I stopped and watch something else.

For those looking for a light drama

If you’re looking for something not overly dramatic and full of conflicts, this is for you. In fact, it’s full of fluff you might get sick of it. It’s not the cheesy kind of fluff, don’t worry, but it’s nothing extraordinary either. Yes there is the usual disapproving boyfriend’s mom but it’s not overly annoying, It’s weird even because it’s the second lead that has an obnoxious nemesis. I just wish Yi Wan and Zhao Quan had more scenes together. They’re an eye candy, far more good looking than the main leads. They’re love story could have been explored more. I like Viola Mi, I think she’s a very good actress, I hope she gets a big break soon and gets the recognition she deserves. In some dramas, you wish there were less side stories and more main leads’ story, but this is the opposite for me. Even the love story of Michael and Xiao Jing was cute.

One question that keeps popping though, why wasn’t the female lead not able to see her son sooner? I dunno if I just missed it, but I found that weird. The son topic just got lost in all the fluff. I mean, it has been said too many times that the female lead was doing all these for her son but wouldn’t even the occasional phone calls to her son suffice? She wasn’t even that hostile to her ex-husband, plus, it was the ex-husband who cheated on her, so the least he could do is let their son see her mother more. I don’t know about China’s justice system, but where I come from, it’s usually the mother who gets custody. Much more if the cause of divorce was due to the father’s fault. But given that the mom here was jobless and the father is rich, I get that the father got custody of the kid, but still, the mother should have been given visitation rights at the very least.

But anyways, so that’s that. If you want a light drama, here it is.

Not so intense love.

First things first, the title. I wouldn't name this drama "'Intense' Love" because I didn't see or feel any intense love at all. Shi Yun was the typical dramaland's "Dr. Zhao", calm, mild, reticent, unobtrusive and sensible. His love was steady, patient, prudent, nothing too showy. Jin Bei, on the other hand, is very un-typical of an actress. I was torn whether she was just frustratingly naive or she was plain stupid sometimes. It is so improbable for an actress to be that trusting or that optimistic. Her love, however is nothing out of the ordinary, either. It even pissed me off that at Episode 22, the writers thought of this misunderstanding between Jin Bei and Shi Yun that I think the story could culd have done without. It's so unnecessary. They have reached 22 episodes fighting all odds together that should have made their relationship more stronger but then comes this incident that could have been solved if only Jin Bei had a little faith in Dr. Zhou, or at least given him a chance to talk, literaally. Instead they made her act childish and bratty. It annoyed me so much that I've thought of dropping the last two episodes. If they just stretched the Zitong problem instead, I would have been more accepting of it. Or they could just have concentrated more on the YingYing-Jia Wei relationship (the second lead couple I've skipped all their scenes together because they just did not interest me at all) and kept the main leads just lovey dovey til the end. This just put a damper on a rather mild but entertaining enough drama. One thing good I could say about the drama is, the problems the couple encounters do not get overly stretched, like, they do not drag it for episodes on end. Yes, an antagonist was always there in the form of Zitong, but every trouble she creates gets solved soon enough. So, but, yeah, nothing intense in all the story IMHO.

I see many people here and there complain about the amount of product placements all over the entire drama. I don’t care much about that as I know it’s show business, they need those sponsors. What’s more important to complain about is, with that amount of sponsors they have, why weren’t they able to spend on Zhao Fang’s designs/creations? It is entitled, Love “Designer”, isn’t it? They could have at least hired a talented designer to do “Zhao Fang’s work”. As it is, her creations looked so cheap and tacky, if you ever get to see them. No one in their right minds would believe she has the talent as a designer. They always talk about her as being talented in her field, but from what they show (or don’t show), I see no talent anywhere. She’s always working in her work station but you wouldn’t even see any of that “talented work” showcased anywhere. I couldn’t even call her stylish.

For me, Zhou Fang comes off as a pushover, stubborn, fickle and foolish. When she’s talking to someone, she always pauses as if deep in thought, so you expect a witty clap back, but no, there’s nothing there. If well meaninged people around her did not interfere numerous times, she would have found herself in deep shit. Throughout the drama, her impulsive/thoughtless actions often encumbers people around her. Song Lin and Qin Qing are right when they say she is of low intelligence. There's a fine line between being too nice and being foolish. She won’t listen to reason, always does what she wants but then rely on them to defend her.

I first found the second lead couple entertaining, but after a few episodes, the girl became obnoxious and full of herself when it came to her relationship with Yu LIn that I had to skip all their scenes altogether. Like, she made push and pull a habit, I wish all men distance from her forever. I hate women like that, real and reel life. She was cool when it comes to her relationship with Zhou Fang, being her voice of reason, but other than that, she was bratty, unreasonable and just annoying. In fact, I skipped a lot of scenes, scenes with Luna, Fang’s mom (man, she’s over the top), the business side of things, President Su, and all the side characters that were just there for conflict purposes. The only ones worth watching for me are the main leads’ (except when Zhao Fang was being dumb), Song Lin and Xiao Luo’s, Xiao Luo and Xiao Di’s scenes. Knowing that the drama has 45 episodes, I figured, I wouldn’t miss anything story-wise even if I skip that much. But come episode 27, even with that much that I skipped, I suddenly felt that I’ve watched quite enough but have only come halfway. I was tired of the conflict after conflict but story really not getting anywhere. So I dropped it in the middle of episode 27, and I must say, I didn’t even miss it. I’ve decided to watch the drama because I liked Johnny Huang’s face and have been meaning to watch him again since I saw him in Moonshine and Valentine. Having Dilraba in it was a plus because, who wouldn’t wanna watch such a pretty face in a drama? I can’t deny the fact, too, that I think they looked good together.

I’ve yet to watch a Dilraba drama where she isn’t playing this dumb/gullible/martyr girl though. I admire actresses who aren’t afraid to play the smart, strong, independent woman who kicks ass, and not just rely on viewers sympathy for their pathetic characters/roles they think they always have to play.

Of all the characters, I liked Song Lin the most. He’s smart and shrewd. Except for the way he handled the Luna thing at beginning, I liked his attitude. I liked his humour. His banters with his sister and his unexpected retorts to her. Next is Xiao Di, just because he was meek and kind, but we only get to see hin a short time maybe because so the main couple can have their privacy at home. Then Xiao Luo because she was spunky, well except at the start when she was being rebellious at the start of the drama.

Oh, and lastly, it irked me to no end that they found it necessary to make all the characters use the same phone with the same annoying af ringtone!!

A breeze to watch.

Ok, this is by far the most enjoyable if not the best (at least for my taste anyways) drama I've watched during this pandemic. Save for the scenes of the Zhi Yi-Lin Nuo couple, I never skipped any scenes, which says so much for me. Zhi-Yi's just annoying in every scene, except for maybe a couple of scenes where she encouraged/defended Yun Shu. I must commend Zhao Luo Ran for her crying scenes, though. I like it when actors cry like any normal person does. Like, with red swollen eyes and eyes brimming and overflowing with tears. Not "crying" but still trying to look good, I like actors who could cry like how a person normally does, even with snot and all, it that makes sense.

The drama had its share of flaws but I appreciate that there were no overly annoying antagonists for the main couple and exasperating misunderstandings (especially those due to lack of communication) between the main couple. This is the first Miles Wei or Shu Ruo Han drama I've watched and I must say, I liked their acting. MW may have played an aloof and somewhat naive guy but he played it so well, without acting emotionless and going overboard with the poker face. He also as good comedic timing and his little facial expressions are done quite well. I liked SRH's acting, too. Her acting is a breath of fresh air, comparing it to other actresses playing the same student/immature/naive roles. Her role got herself into a lot of trouble and was quite the ditz but her acting was never annoying. I found every characters' lines and interactions quite natural and realistic, too. Like, the Yun Shu-Yun Lan sisters' dialogues/interactions/relationship, for me, is realistic. Overall, this is an uncomplicated, feel good drama. Recommended for those sick and tired of all the negativity in the real world. A must watch (and rewatch)! 💕

Edit: I forgot to add, I'm just a viewer and don't know anything about drama productions and all that but I don't understand why dramas who go all out on locations and other things skimp on the costume department. Like in this case, Yun Shu keeps wearing the same clothes. Like, the same skirt (if not the whole outfit) in every latter episode. I just don't get it. I'm an ordinary person and I have a lot of clothes, and I imagine actors have so much more (plus they could get sponsors) so I cannot comprehend how they'd just go with whatever they let them wear (to the point that it does not look realistic anymore). If it were me, I'd rather wear my own personal clothes. Well, that's just me.

Found this on Youtube when I was looking for subbed Chinese drama to watch. If you wanna watch it from there, too, I’d give you a headsup, this is one of those dramas that’s weirdly subbed. The type that would give you headaches trying to understand the translation. Sadly, I found the story is the same, with a lot of loopholes, unexplained circumstances and annoying characters and scenes. It is also poorly written, acted and directed. The main characters do not have chemistry IMO. I like watching dramas with smart, spunky and not easily fazed female leads, and I thought she was that, but later on I realized, maybe that was not entirely the case. That maybe it was the actress who just lacked emotions in her acting, that even in the scenes with the male lead, she seemed kinda stiff. I gotta say though, this is one drama with hella lot of handsome actors, sorry to say though, I find the male lead the least good looking and not the best actor of the lot (sorry to his fans). But the weirdest acting of all goes to the one who played Lu Qiao. At key scenes, she acted like she had cerebral palsy or something (sorry to her fans ✌????). Dropped it after skipping a substantial amount of episodes.

Unpopular Opinion. Not for me.

I don't know if I’ve just watched far too many dramas, having been watching C/J/K-Dramas for half my life, that my taste have somewhat become fastidious in what I watch.

Nothing new. How is it convincing that you find someone you're supposedly been longing for to meet again after so many years and not tell that person that you two have known each other in the past? And it's not like that "past” is anything to be ashamed off or should be a big deal to say, they were literally kids then FFS. I don't know about y'all, but isn't it normal that when a person meets someone the tendency is to find something in common between the two of you? May it be like, "Oh, you're X's XX's XXX's XXXx's neighbor. " or something of the sort. Even if it's just an effort at conversation. And for someone who is a doctor and a lawyer, these two have something lacking in their brains that make them illogical. Unrealistic is inevitable in dramas (because, hey, it isn’t a drama for anything) but can we not tolerate stupidity in scripts so these screenwriters.

Checked the drama info to lookup who wrote the drama to see if his/her other dramas are any good. What the eff. It has two screenwriters even. Two. Two heads that could have written a very good storyline that would substantiate and corroborate the synopsis/plot summary, but no. Further research came up with info that the drama was a “novel” adaptation. Hm.. It figures. But then again, there are a lot of marvellous movies and dramas that were adapted from books. Just.. good books. Books written by proper authors, not mangas written by amateurs.

Again, this is an unpopular opinion judging from the other reviews here who gave mostly 10’s. This is not me just going against the grain for the heck of it. This is for the others out there that couldn’t stomach such a story and characters portrayed as dimwits. Like, how could two professionals, a doctor and a lawyer, be so idiotic and undiscerning? Ok, love makes people stupid but.. how could a lawyer be such a poor judge of character? She couldn’t even tell if Wen Shao Qing is a scumbag and is just bullying her or it’s her that he loves. Why fall in love with a scumbag then? This Cong Rong character is one messed up character. I love me a smart, independent, strong, calm and sensible FLs, I hate dramas that have airheads and pushover FLs. But there’s a fine line between being strong willed and being imprudent and just plain stubborn and thoughtless. The Wen Shao Qing character isn’t without fault either. He is fickle and petty. Is the truth so hard to say? Couldn’t a distinguished professional be a little straightforward and mature? Nothing new. Highly unrealistic. Full of misunderstandings. Adding a lot of kissing and lovey-dovey scenes does not make up for a drama with no substance.

Oh, Dramaland.. why are you so full of push-and-pull, hot-and-cold, misunderstandings, lies, secrets, dishonesty and annoying characters? I get that a drama needs those for the story, but some dramas just go overboard. Some screenwriters think their drama should be a smorgasbord of conflicts and plot twists.

I pity these actors who kinda have no choice but to play these characters. Such a waste of their talents. In the end they end up taking in all the flack from viewers just because they accepted a job. They’re actors, they need to work.

I would only recommend this show to you if you're extremely bored, not picky, have nothing else to do or wanna vent and cuss at someone else (meaning: the annoying characters and scenes)

***Why do I find Daddi Tang more "manly" in Way back into Love than here? He looks different somehow here.
