I love romance, mystery, and crime dramas (and I have a particular soft spot for media in dramas). One scene with the leads dealing with media can keep me from dropping a drama no matter how I felt about it before.

All my personal opinion. I try to keep in mind the different levels of quality in how something is shot. But really most of my ratings depend very heavily on how it makes me feel. The "best" probably won't be the highest on my list.
Also very possible that my opinions of something I watched have changed or morphed over time. Leading to many ratings that I shift around or probably should shift around. For the most part, I don't touch a rating unless I rewatch it, even if a rating really needs to be changed.
On Hold? If something is on the on-hold list it's probably because I started to slow down in my pace of watching it and didn't want it to just sit on my currently watching. Or its a show that's airing or just aired that I plan on moving to my "currently watching".
Dropped? If something is on my dropped it's there for one of three reasons. 1. It was on hold for long enough for me to move it. 2. I got towards a twist or plot point that I didn't like. 3. eek. Just because something is on my dropped doesn't mean I won't pick it up again. I don't really like dropping things, my list is longer than I'd like so sometimes I revisit.
