I pick up this drama after I dropped SITR, since I was starting to get interested in Jung Ha In. Even to this day I still find myself going back to watch clips of One Spring Night. I was so invented on each episode and fell for both leads, as they're so into their role that I feel like watching some real-life event in front of me.
One Spring Night tells the story of two people who fall in love at the wrong time. It was as if the whole world telling them not to. They had to bear their own internal struggles, and also the pressure from society that comes along. This is not your typical romantic story as it also touches some social subjects, especially in Korea's culture. Not to mention they both have their own insecurities to start their relationship. I'm not a fan of slow-burn romance, but somehow OSN managed to make me crave for more with how realistic the story portrayed and how lovable each of the characters is.
What can I say about the characters - I freaking adore them. Lee Jung In is one fierce girl. She knows what she wants, she knows where she stands and her happiness lies beneath her independence. Ji Ho is a down to earth single father living inside this conservative society bubble. He is a man who never put himself first and always deciding things wisely by considering the people around him. Combine both and you got this mature relationship that dialogues their way into knowing each other. I also love how the 3 sisters always have each other's back through thick and thin. Especially the youngest one!
Arguably there are some mixed opinions on how the whole picture acts as a romanticization of cheating. But honestly, I think feelings can't be seen as black and white, there are gray in between and sometimes the lines are a little bit blurry. I wouldn't blame Jung In though, there must be some reason why she can't make up her mind on going the marriage route - although she's been in a relationship for so long. When you can't see the person you're seeing now exist in your future, I think that's one flag of no good in pushing marriage into it.
The OSTs are good, they're not distracting and somehow just fit into every scene. There were not a lot of songs in this drama, but Rachael Yamagata's No Direction stuck in my head for a long time and whenever I listen to the song I feel like the whole scenes played before my eyes.
Anyway, One Spring Night successfully gets into my all-time favorite drama list, and I would still happily re-watching it over and over again.

The story itself combined in such a neat way that even though it consists of several genres, it still turns out well. Although some might say that the plot is shallow, I think the main focus about the struggle of having a relationship is pleasant to watch. Most dramas tend to have a draggy episodes throughout the middle, but this drama is so fast paced and action packed that not even a single second you'll feel bored. Also the scenery is one of the things that I can't get over with-I mean like seriously the wrecked ship beach is damn beautiful. I gave the story 8.5 because towards the end of the show things kinda get messy although it still wrapped up in a beautiful way.
The cast did a really great job. The male lead character, Yoo Si Jin, is the kind of guy that can steal your heart away within minutes. I mean he got the looks (those killer smiles) and he loves to throw random jokes and cheesy pick up lines which are a +++ for me! The lead couple has a really strong chemistry and many cute moments. Although they have opposite personality, they actually managed to let the relationship flows. And I kind of surprised myself that I'm actually rooting for the second lead couple also. Their story is really touching that you can't help but anticipating when will it get easier for them to be together. Not to forget, the bromance between Yoo Si Jin and Seo Dae Young makes me in awe like seriously can I get more scenes of them please.
And don't even mention the OST. Like whoa DotS is one of those dramas with perfect OST (literally everything) and they suit the scenes really well.
Am I going to rewatch this? YES YES DEFINITELY. Those times when the natural disaster occurred will be my favourite part of this drama.

Reply 1988 is actually the only drama in which I don't really care who she'll end up with. Because damn Deok Sun-she seems like she has chemistry with each of the characters. For me, Reply 1988 outshines the previous series. It exceeds way beyond my expectations. And I'm personally not the type of person who likes to watch family oriented dramas, but Reply 1988 is such a heartwarming drama in terms of family relationship and bonding.
If you're expecting a cliche love story line then nah. You won't get that. It doesn't have the typical female lead being the only one having a crush nor a male lead who said and did nothing but ended up with the girl. This drama is beautiful in its own way since it gave the person who is brave enough to cross the line-and took a risk-the chance to get what he wants. The show gave many chances for each character to take and it was their decision that leads them to what they have. Because after all, life is full of deciding over things.
The cast did a really great job. Hyeri's acting as Deok Sun is superb. I actually not expecting her to act so natural and fun to watch. Deok Sun is a character that radiates happiness vibes, she's funny and yet good in understanding others. Sun Woo is basically the teacher's example of a role model and yet he also has a sensitive and romantic side within him. What can I say about Dong Ryong, he's basically one of the characters that I'm always waiting to be on screen. Because he's just this careless guy with a really great humor that makes everything got more fun whenever they're together-let's just say he's the ace of the group. And there's Taek with his strong competitive trait and yet he radiates dongsaeng vibes which just makes people want to take care of him. Also Taek's killer smile is like ayeee part of me melts every time he laughs. And not to forget the quirky yet naive Jung Hwan. He is just your definition of hotness. He's actually the first character that I got attached to. On the outside he seems like he is such a careless person, but in fact he's just a guy who doesn't know how to express himself and always misses timing. Yet, he's the most adorable one.
The parents are also the main focus in this show. And they're charming in their own way. Kim's family is my ultimate fav!
Don't even ask about the music. The OSTs are gold [with those oldies vibes] and they suit the scenes really well.
Reply 1988 is one of those dramas in which you just don't feel like watching the finale because then you knew that it's gonna end. Seeing such friendship where you'll be there for each other anytime and anywhere gives me a pang of jealousy. I wish I could stay in one neighborhood throughout my youth.
“I could not return to my youth or that street either. Time always flows. Everything passes by and ages. That might be why youth is beautiful. Because it shines, blindingly bright at a brilliant short moment. But you can never go back (to it). A time when many tears was shed – like my youth.” -Deok Sun-

A Love So Beautiful

A Love So Beautiful tells the story of Xiao Xi and Jiang Chen as they develop their relationship and grow together almost their whole life. The story itself has the "Itazura na Kiss" trope and although I ended up dropping that drama, somehow I managed to finish this and always craving more for each episode. The drama itself is light-hearted; the high school life pictured the innocent of youth and towards adulthood, there were more intimate relationships and serious issues. For me, I actually wanting the adult relationship to be a little longer because somehow I squeal A LOT and the story itself is more interesting I guess. Or maybe because it was more relatable. Or maybe because I like it when the situation was reversed haha.
Chen Xiaoxi is an easy-going and determined person. She may not be the brightest when it comes to academics but she surely one of those people that always lighten up the mood whenever she presents. Jiang Chen is a smart, good looking guy and mature for his age. He is the type of person that has a hard time showing his feelings. Wu Bosong is a very thoughtful person! I actually feel bad every time I saw him and rooting for Jiang Chen, because he's just that type of guy who cares a lot for the person he likes and tries to give the best that he can provide. I also love Lin Jing and Lu Yang as the side characters, especially Lin Jing. Usually, this kind of drama has the FL's friend to be equally not bright and borderline stupid, but somehow Lin Jing is a smart & strong character.
Don't even get me started with the OST! I swear it has become my most played all-time in Spotify lmao that's how much I love it. It brings back the feeling that I had when watching this drama. I think it's one of the best drama OST though, since somehow as a person who always skips intros and recaps I ended up watching the opening just to listen to the song.
I have always recommended A Love So Beautiful to people I know! This is one of the dramas that has a special place in my heart since it has everything that I want in a school drama. Such a simple story and yet powerful enough in conveying the emotions.
