One of the best thai bl this year
This was a journey, an experience, that will forever stay with me. I absolutely loved this series. The cinematography, directing, production level, acting, story - marvelous, beautiful and stunning.STORY:
This series is a fiction, subtly yet un-subtly, calling out all the problems and flaws in the BL industry from toxic tropes, stereotypes, overcontrolling script writers to the cruel treatments of their casts, amongst other things. The story is about Gene, a professional BL writer, desperate to break out of the BL genre and try writing something else for a change. But his overbearing publisher refuses him to do so and downright coerces him into writing yet another BL story following his last successful novel that's in the process of being produced into a series called 'Bad Engineer The Series'. Sitting through the audition for Bad Engineer is where he meets Nubsib, who's apparently a sheep in wolf's clothing. Nubsib is auditioning for the series and manages to snag the main lead role. It seems to be Gene's and Nubsib's first meeting, but apparently not because they actually met as children around 14 years ago. They've got history, but it looks like Nubsib is the only one who remembers.
------
I have watched a lot of Thai BLs to last me a lifetime (not really, it's never enough) so I know if a series was going to disappoint me halfway into it. Lovely Writer did not disappoint. At all. What got me into the series was the plot. If you've got a good and interesting plot, trust it to grasp your attention. Add to it a well-acclaimed, accredited and well-loved director to the mix? It's bound to be good, like really, really good. And then of course, you have the actors and actresses that brought their characters to life like no other; their emotions, personalities that was made their own... it was /chef's kiss/.
------
INCOMING SPOILER ALERT!! EPISODE 9 (i can't stop talking and thinking about EP 9. It's a masterpiece in all sense)
Episode 9 was too good. It was downright cinematic. The blockings for some of the scenes were amazing - it was art at it's finest, in just one episode. Storyline was on-point, characters well-portrayed, cinematography a masterpiece and a rollercoaster of emotions! There were no dull moments or awkwardness in between~ It was all amazingly done!
The way this episode showed how problematic homophobic norms were passed down from one generation to the other, that living as a gay person means living in fear and judgment, that accepting oneself as being gay is not "normal"... It needs to stop. This episode also showed how it's all funny and amusing until one of your children is actually the one being called funny and amusing. It's interesting and nice to see how they showed the parents being entertained by the gays on-screen but when it's someone from the family, the table's suddenly quiet and all hell breaks loose. Not many people could fully understand how heavy and nerve-wrecking the scene at the family table actually was, because I could never. But the emotions that ran through each and every one of the characters, I could at least dare to slightly fathom the weight of the confession scene as well as the confrontation scene later on. I am genuinely impressed and touched with each character, and letting the characters to freely speak their minds without inhibitions. It's a wake-up call, and it's about time.
Aside from the heavy scenes of this episode, there were the soft and steamy ones that I, not gonna lie, ABSOLUTELY loved! There were so many of my favourite scenes in this episode, and of course, many domestic ones that I've embarrassingly found myself squealing to. No regrets though 'cause SibGene are so adorable and beautiful together.
------
Also, in terms of my fav characters in this series, it's got to be Gene, Nubsib, both their parents, and Hin. First off, kudos to Gene. Absolutely loved his character development. He seemed so unsure of himself at the beginning of the series but after knowing who he was, he chose to accept himself and face it head on. I'm amazed at how brave of a man he was. He was the epitome of confidence, being honest to himself and choosing not to be a coward, even from his own family. He knew what could happen if he admitted to his relationship with Nubsib but he still did it anyway because he knew it was the right thing to do, and he wanted to be honest with both himself and his parents. Really, Gene deserved the world, but the world didn't deserve him. And Nubsib, raising standards every step of the way. He's the consent king and nobody can tell me otherwise. Always making sure he's not forcing Gene to do anything he didn't want to do and telling him he's willing to wait for him if he's not ready... where do I get myself a Nubsib, huh?
Gene's and Nubsib's parents, who would've known they would be the most supporting people in those two men's lives? Especially Gene's father. He really wins best father of the year. I love this series for not only showing the main lead's story but also the supporting characters so we could understand each one of them, at least a little bit. Gene's mothers are besties for life, their fathers are best bros, their brothers are bffs, what more is there to ask for?
And then we got Hin. Hin, the character we thought was going to betray Gene but pulled a 180 degree on us and called us stupid by actually sacrificing his passion and love for writing to protect his friend. You can't find a more genuine and honest friend than Hin. We all wished we had a Hin in our lives.
------
Starting from the first episode, each and every scene were played and directed so well, I wondered, "why was this so good already from Ep 1?" Was it the unique plot, the well-known director, the amazing actors, or all of the above? Fyi, it was the latter, just in case someone was still wondering. But what I especially loved was the shade thrown on the BL stereotypes and all the other toxic labels. This series was not following your typical BL from the get-go and I loved it. This mindset carried on, and it didn't stop until the end where they performed short plays from famous Disney fairytales. It was their way of saying, BLs are fantasies too, don't mix fiction with reality. And also that two men can play these cheesy fairytales perfectly well. And they killed it, too. It was 10/10!
And the chemistry, you can't NOT talk about the chemistry between Up and Kao. It was phenomenal. Everyone knows this by now, and even if you don't like either of them (i don't understand you), you can't deny their chemistry. Up is an exceptional actor. His portrayal of Gene was splendid, especially the way he shows every emotions through his face expressions and body movements. Every little movement or gesture had a meaning, a purpose behind it. That's how much of an amazing actor Up is. And Kao has improved SO MUCH from the beginning. He's done so well with Nubsib and brought his character to justice. The way he looked at Gene with love, respect and fondness is out of this world. The way he showed his frustration, anger and jealousy was so strong, I felt it too. His feelings for Gene was unrivaled. A serious round of applause for the both of them!! There's no Gene without Up, and there's no Nubsib without Kao. Up was the perfect Gene, and Kao was the perfect Nubsib.
And of course, another round of applause for the rest of the cast and crew! The beauty of this series is that no matter what is talked about, no matter the difference in pacing, mood, purpose, and TEA, it still fit perfectly in their world called Lovely Writer. And as many people have said, this series has raised bars and standards for any BL drama. They've all made something top-tier in this industry, and they deserve all the love and admiration.
I love how Lovely Writer depicts the good side of LGBT relationships, but also the cruelty of society that's against it. LW does not only show the joys of being in love but also the struggles. This series is a fukken masterpiece, exquisite in every component. I can't praise this series enough. I don't think I can enjoy a BL series with a weak plot anymore. Back then, I'd watch anything as long as it's BL but now...
So far, to me, it's one of the best BL this year. No, dare I say, it's the best BL I've had the pleasure of watching in my entire life.
There are a few people out there who dropped this series after watching the first or second episode. Trust me, I was dumb enough to have thought about dropping it too, but I pushed through and look where we're at now. Watch the series guys, give it a chance.

My favourite BL of this year
When the series has yet to come to an end, I said it's my favourite BL of 2021, and now that it's actually ended, I'm STILL saying that 'We Best Love: No.1 For You' is my all-time NUMBER ONE BL of 2021! I don't think I can move on from this series anytime soon...STORY
The two main leads, Shu Yi and Shi De, are in an unrequited love - SY is in love with one of his close lady friend who's in love with one of SY's close guy friend... and SD is in love with SY. Talk about tragic love. SY and SD knew each other for over 10 years since they were kids, but they aren't friends, oh no no, god forbid they become friends. They are rivals. Competitive rivals, at least according to SY. SD, on the other hand, does not really care. The only reason he competes is just so he could get SY's attention. Cliché af, but cute af. SY is frustrated and upset that he's always No.2 to SD. He never gets to win over SD. The only reason SD tried as hard to be No.1 is cause he wants all of SY's focus on him, even if it makes SY angry. Unrequited love is tough, ok? SD's gotta do what he gotta do with what he's got. So of course, when SD finds the opportunity to keep him close, he goes and makes SY his page-boy, in exchange for keeping SY's secret. At first, SY hates it, but as the episodes progress, SY begins to soften to SD. He even calls SD his friend!! At some point in time, over the 10+ years that SD has loved SY, SD thought that if he couldn't get SY to love him back, at the very least, he wanted SY to be his friend. And it was heart-breaking, to watch SD try to hide and bottle his feelings just so they can be friends... It's just, man, SD is so selfless with his love for SY. He only gives and doesn't ask for anything in return except, well, only for that they could become friends until graduation. Which is in itself bringing me to tears!!!
Unrequited love is a theme that's really popular in any love story, but in 'WBL: No.1 For You', it's just so captivating, to watch these two men side-by-side as one watches the other with love-sick expressions while the other figures out his emotions and come to terms with his newfound feelings. You cannot ever forget the way they bared their hearts and souls to each at that bridge... I've never seen anything so beautiful and heart-wrenching. You can say, even though SD loved SY longer, I feel like SY is the one that loves harder. Nobody can stop him now!
Also, the fact that we got an underwater kiss in the first episode itself, not to say in the first minute of the series... oof bravo! And that kisses in the last two eps omg people, it was everything I could've ever asked for and more!
CAST/ACTORS
The chemistry between SY and SD is hot and boiling, but at the same time, soft and sweet. I could watch them all day even if they were to do nothing but sleep. Their good looks are enough of an eye-candy to last me a good few months. Before officially watching this series, I looked up the actors that played SY and SD. The chemistry between Sam Lin and Yu is also as heated as SY and SD. The two actors looked so comfortable with each other, it all seemed so natural. I've watched their IG lives too, and they're always in their own little world, being so flirty and giggly all the time. According to Evan, who acts in this series as Bing Wei, he said the following to express how much Sam and Yu are always acting like they're the only ones in the room, "We're just air in the room. Don't mind us." Agreed. I feel like a third-wheel whenever I watch them.
Yu is actually half-Japanese and half-Taiwanese, and if you watch the series, you'll notice how SY incorporates Japanese words here and there, and I absolutely LOVE it! It's just so adorable. Also, it's supposedly Yu's first time acting, which blew my mind cause he acts so well in the series I couldn't tell he was a rookie. And then we have Sam, the man with the sexiest voice. I absolutely fell in love with his voice. The dynamic between these two is out of this world, you wouldn't have known that this series was the first time they've met. They behave like freaking long-lost soulmates omg. The 'WBL: No.1 For You' team couldn't have done a better job casting them to play the main lead roles. Forever grateful to the staffs responsible for bringing them into the world of 'WBL: No.1 For You', and making us fall in love with them.
MUSIC
The OSTs in the series are beautiful and I love them all~ I hope they keep giving us their music.

Watch it, guys. To those who still haven't, I don't know what you're doing, but you're missing on a real treasure. Every part of this drama was everything I hoped for and more! We got a simple yet interesting plot, an amazing cast, mind-blowing chemistry with jaw-dropping kisses, and would you look at that, we're even having a second season! What's not to love?
Season 1 ended with a happy-ending (i love it here), but to those who haven't watched last ep to the end, hot dang, would never have expected that post-credit scene ;-; but all the same, here's hoping for a better Season 2!! I'm mad excited about it, and I just love seeing Sam and Yu acting together~ There's something about the both of them....
Fighting to WBL all the casts, staffs and fans! Let's cheer for an amazing Season 2!
FYI, WBL reached a new record on MDL scoring a whooping rating of 67. 1! Never happened before and I was proud of WBL for breaking MDL~

One of the best Kdramas out there, imo
Never in my life have I ever watched a drama as it was airing. Never. I always waited until it was completed because I'm one impatient fella~ But this drama got me so curious since before the first trailer came out. Kim Soo Hyun, one of my fav actors, was officially casted for a drama role since his military discharge and Seo Ye Ji had caught my attention since 'Lawless Lawyer'; her voice was golden. So when the first trailer came out, I remembered being so intrigued with the couple's visuals and chemistry, I never stopped waiting for the 1st episode to come out already. The show's over but I still need more! I've literally turned into an addict! I'm not satisfied with 16 eps. I can't believe it's over... I walked into this drama only knowing bits and pieces, and now, I walk out of this with a heavy heart, missing it like crazy. This was such a well-paced and life-learning series.
The story, from the get-go was nothing I've ever seen before. I don't remember watching anything quite like this. The added effects, animations and the cinematography tripled my excitement, and the uniqueness of how each episode title relates to the story of that particular episode increased my anticipation for the next ep. Each episode also has a lesson to teach us, and every week, the episodes keeps getting better and better. There's not one episode I've watched with dry eyes.
Also, from the first trailer itself, they tell us something about butterflies. This was the ONE thing I was so DESPERATELY curious about. They explain it in the later episodes, but butterflies are the main imagery of this drama. So beautiful, yet they hold an underlying despair.
"Don't let the past trap you, or you'll end up like me."
"The past can trap me? Then I can just open the door and get out."
"No, you can't. You won't be able to see the door."
I feel like every one of the characters in this drama has their own "mental illness", you know? Either subtly or quite obviously, and I'm excited to see whether they try to overcome it or learn to live with it. Most especially Goo Moon Young. Also, remember that "your eyes can tell stories your mouth never could." This was Moon Gang Tae His eyes ... they tell a thousand stories.
Another reason this drama intrigued me was the chemistry between Soo Hyun and Ye Ji. I've honestly never seen chemistry more explosive, more beautiful, more visually-appealing, more REAL than these two. And that's saying something. Also, Moon Sang Tae, he's a character I've began to love over the course of the drama. His character development, his kindness, his innocence and just about everything about him was so pure and beautiful. The trio have an amazing relationship with each other and no matter what, they're family.
Now for the music, oh, the music, man. I've got no words for the music in this drama. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them is a masterpiece! Every. Single. One. The aesthetic and the feelings that well up inside of you when you watch the scenes as the OSTs play in the background are unbelievable. Sometimes you can't help yourself from smiling, but most of the time you end up with a few or more tears. Fyi, I've added them all to my playlist ^_^
All in all, this show was a crying FESTIVAL and Moon Sang Tae was MVP! And that DARN DEER omg!
Tbh all the characters were so lovable (except that evil villain ofc)~ And all the side characters were worthy of being main characters. They were the stars of their own story and I just really liked them all~
I'm telling you this with utmost sincerity. You won't regret watching this drama. At the very least, just give it a try. The aesthetic, chemistry, acting, music, Kim Soo Hyun's eyes, Seo Ye Ji's voice, and Oh Jung Se's character. They are all best-sellers for this drama <3
I'm sorry if this review was all over place. It's my first time loving a drama this much and writing a review this long omg

biggest disappointment of this year
I started this drama loving it because the plot was interesting enough and the casts were amazing, most especially the chemistry between the main leads.Look at where we're at now... the title of my review says it all.
It was going pretty good till Ep.8 and I KNEW it was just the calm before a fukken storm, scratch that, a fukken apocalypse! Why'd they have to ruin it like that?? What were the writers thinking??!! Forget the whole story, what was that ENDING?????!!!
Zi-O was labelled a "monster" cause if were to look at this in the perspective of a mere mortal, he was indeed one. He was a "monster" 'cause he was not "normal". He had superpowers and was made up of all sorts of things and animals. He just wasn't human. Thus, he was a monster. He kept to himself after he ran away from the organization, and one way or the other tried to blend in and live on as normally as he possibly could. But there's only so much he could pretend when the moment his emotions get affected, blue lightning-like powers zap from his fingers? Normal is hard, normal is impossible. He realized so when the organization tracked him down and began chasing after him, creating chaos in the midst. He's a monster, through and through.
But then comes in the female main lead with the most unique name I've ever seen or heard; Ha Neul Ae Gu Reum. When I saw her for the first time, I though she'd be different. Far from the normal portrayal of female leads. Isn't that what we hope for getting into a new drama? A female lead against the stereotypes. She seemed so to me, but then she kept getting knocked out... and I'm confused. Is she also not a human being? Does she has superpowers too? How is it that she keeps losing consciousness every time there's a fight? She's a god-dang cop, no less! None of the other police officers fall as badly as her, let alone pass out! There was just too many too count. And the last fall she took, it was really the last one. She never woke up... And that's why I despise this drama so much!
Ep 1 to Ep 8, they got our hopes high, they got us feeling good, like the world has finally been set right. But come Ep 9 and onwards, it's simply hell. Zi-O became corrupted, he became the villain, ha! What a joke... so he really took his role as a "monster" so dang seriously.. And Gu Reum was just heartless. So different from how she was in the beginning of the show. I now people tend to change, but for a person like Gu Reum, I didn't think she'd forget her true self so easily... She was just cold, especially to her "husband" Zi-O (yeah they got married can you believe) I saw no love, no emotions, no chemistry after Ep 8. It was all gone.
The biggest peeve I had was the in the last episode. Gu Reum begged (some emotions finally cracked) for Zi-O to stop his horrendous plans and to "please come back" but he refused. And then she got shot and her final words to him were still "come back" and you'd think he'd AT LEAST try to see what wrong he's done and to finally COME BACK to who he was when she fell in love with him... BUT NOOOOO he goes ahead with his plans and creates a gazillion copies of his "baby monsters"... wtf.
And that's how the drama ends.
Disappointment is an understatement.

really cute BL with amazing chemistry
There's not one Korean BL drama out there that I haven't watched, and let me say, out of all the ones that were released recently, To My Star is the best drama in terms of kissing. Hands down. I sound like such a pervert omg... deja vu to another review just like this rip... But for real though, that last kiss in TMS was superb!STORY
Is it just me? When you talk about Korean production in the film/drama industry, don't you kind of get this feeling of not getting disappointed? Like, in a way, you know that no matter what happens, you're just really going to enjoy whatever's made? Pretty sure it's not just me. Thus, I have a special place in my heart for Korean BLs, and I know none of them will completely disappoint me. Exactly what happened with TMS. There's this interesting plot of a cook and an actor somehow finding themselves living together in the same house. One's closed-off and throws out cold-city-man vibes while the other's more outgoing and cheery. Introvert vs. extrovert, basically. There's not much story that can be told within nine 14-16 mins episodes, and there were some secrets and hidden tales that weren't talked about, but given what we have, it was pretty well done. I was just really, really glad we got a happy ending :")
CAST/ACTORS
The first thing I look at when watching romance dramas is the chemistry between the characters. Not gonna lie, first time watching it, I couldn't feel it. I didn't see the chemistry at all. But boy, oh boy, you know what they say, don't judge a book by it's cover because, for a series, the first few eps are basically a cover to a book. You've gotta give it time for it to develop properly, even if it's a short series. Slow and steady wins the race, for real. So come episode 3, you can already sense their chemistry. It's so natural, the way they act with each, I'm beginning to think maybe they're close friends in real life. Did you guys know? Both these actors acted together in 'Tale of the Nine-Tailed' It was such a good Kdrama ;-; Maybe cause they've acted together before in a way, you can somehow feel their closeness on TMS, too. When they smile at each other, the fluff and cuteness simply overwhelms me omg. AND THEY HAVE SUCH BEAUTIFUL SMILES!
SONG
You know how sometimes when you're so focused on watching something, you forget about the song that's playing in the background? Yeah, me. So, I'm not sure if any of them were playing in the drama itself, but I looked it up, and I could only find one. And I think you guys should really listen to it.
NewKidd - 《Left Hand》
--------------------------------------------
I don't think I'll ever grow tired of watching Korean BLs, and I'm so glad TMS became a part of the growing list of really good BL dramas out there. With a happy-ending, too! Can you believe that? I don't know why, but maybe because I've been watching BLs for a very long time and the ones in the past would break me with their sad endings, so in a way, I always expect sad endings? But I think nowadays, BLs have started to "grow up", leaning towards giving us those well-deserved, happy endings, and I've got nothing but praises for that!
Thank you 'To My Star' for gifting us with an endearing and lovely series, and an EXCELLENT last-episode kiss!

frustration, high BP, stress, heart/headache all mixed in one
I'm not gonna go over the plot of this drama and the castings and all that shazam cause yall already know what it's all about~ FYI I've watched the first season in one seating (it's not that hard when every episode manages to raise ur BP and u keep watching the next ep hoping they'd finally do sth right), and I was planning on doing the same for this season BUT this drama is too demanding for me to wait until all the episodes finished airing! I'm going to be here twice every week until the season ends, and then of course, rinse and repeat with season 3 X__X why am i doing this to myself ripBEWARE there's gonna be lots of spoilers! It's basically drowning in it lol
Before going into this, just, can Soo Ryun please be alive? She and Logan are my favs, and were basically the only ones I was rooting for since the beginning ;---; they did justice to the drama~
So, first episode, already it's started with a heart attack just like it did with season 1! Opening scene is in the future and has someone falling down the stairs with blood drenched in her clothes but we already know that from the teaser... but who's the victim, we don't know cause Penthouse is all about its mystery. But gawd man the way she died, it's pretty gruesome... The relationship between the two main "villains" Seo Jin & Dan Tae (are they called villains? to be villains there should be heroes too... but are there any in this drama besides the selective few... omg but like few is still some right?) my head seriously hurts. Whatever they've got going is so toxic, I should start wearing my face mask whenever I see them... I desperately need someone to teach these two a lesson they'll never forget. They keep getting worse minute by minute. Also, knew Yoon Hee wasn't dead but at least she was proven innocent - the only justice in this ep! Was hoping Dan Tae would finally be locked up when he was suspected to have murdered Soo Ryun, but of course, what was I thinking? Manipulation after manipulation after manipulation. So, Seo Jin is as menacing as ever, Dan Tae is as sinister as ever, Gyu Jin is as pathetic as ever, Eun Byul is as disturbing as ever, the butler was as creepy as ever, and Logan is as handsome as ever~ Also, I'm starting to love Seok Kyung~ I loved it when she said, "I get an upset stomach if I eat with someone I hate" right in front of Seo Jin <3 man I know I'm gonna start bawling if ever the twins get reunited with Soo Ryun ;---; pls make it happen
Season 2 is actually two yrs after the first season wow. So much time has passed... and so many things have happened. I can't wait for this drama to end for real cause then justice can finally be served ONCE and FOR ALL.
Second episode, still no sign of Soo Ryun ;--; Seo Jin is still obsessed with Yoon Hee since first season, especially more now that Yoon Hee's back in Hera Palace and has apparently "snatched" her ex-husband, too. I can see jealousy in her eyes rip and i can already see her getting tired of Dan Tae. There are a few scenes here that made me ecstatic though, like when Yoon Chul "slam-dunked" Dan Tae to the ground, when Yoon Hee moved back into Hera Palace vexing Seo Jin more than ever, when they found out Yoon Chul was the CEO of JohnBIO, when Seo Jin was diagnosed with bad vocal cord nodules, and when Yoon Hee got her amazing singing voice back!!! And the look on Seo Jin's face!! Priceless!!!!! The most shocking thing in this episode though was the kiss between two of the main leads 0.0 (ain't naming them cause u gotta watch it and be as shocked as me lmao) it's around the 43:32 mark depending on which site you watch it from~
And guyssss, Seo Jin' s real-life husband made a special appearance in this episode uwu
Third episode, Bae Ro Na's back but still no sign of Soo Ryun lmao. I feel like Ro Na coming back makes everything so complicated, especially Yoon Hee's revenge on Seo Jin cause now her daughter's at stake sigh. Logan was barely shown, and I don't know if he's even in Korea or back in the US. Oh, Ro Na now knows that her mom killed Min Seol Ah from Season 1, and that causes a rift between mother and daughter... meaning more drama omg. The one "semi-villain" I was rooting for disappointed me in this episode... Seok Kyung-ah, why are you such a little bit*h here? Stop blaming other people for your mom's death and open your eyes! Also, it's so weird seeing Jenny bullied when she was a bully back in S1. I was hoping she'd turned over a new leaf, but nooooooo, god forbids she has some compassion. She's same old Jenny with a little bit of pity for Ro Na, is what I think. And then we got Seok Hoon who's still "controlled" by her sister. Sister-complex all the way~
Now that Yeon Hee's got her vocals, I'm wondering when she'll tell the world the truth. And of course, always waiting for Soo Ryun's comeback :)
Fourth episode, and I change my mind. Seok Kyung is not my girl. Not until she pulls herself together and wake the fukken up. There's a limit to how childish one can be. And let's not talk about Eun Byul, please, cause she might be missing a screw or two... I think she needs serious psychological help. At the moment, I'm rooting for Bae Ro Na, cause so far from what I'm seeing, she may have matured since S1. I hope so,. At least she stands higher than those two other girls. And Jenny, oh my god, my heart hurts for her. I know she's done so much bad before but that moment, that scene, omg. My heart broke for her, and the fact that her mom, who calls her daughter "precious", didn't even know she was suffering... Also, my blood boils seeing the kids bully Ro Na again. To be honest, Ro Na was annoying to me back in S1, but here, she's standing up for herself and that's character development. I can't wait for when these bullies get what they deserve, them and their parents! Oh how the world would be beautiful again~ Like daughter, Jenny's mom had her own closet of bad deeds, but now that Jenny's exposed the bullying, I can't wait for when the Oh Yeon Hee x Kang Ma Ri team sets the place on fire! Also, about Soo Ryun, I'm starting to think she's actually dead ;-; And Lee Ji Ah might have been casted as the twin's real mother (that's why she's main lead) cause Dan Tae did say they looked so alike and that's why he married Soo Ryun... Gawd... And of course, Seok Kyung finding out about the big, bad secret.
Ep 5 to Ep 8, a whole lot happened, no sh*t cause that's like 4 eps of drama, drama and MORE drama. The most important thing to me, Soo Ryun. I still don't know if she's dead dead, but apparently her twin sister's alive and well~ Now I have my doubts if her twin is actually her twin or if it's in fact Soo Ryun, my girl~ But I'm going to keep watching until the end. One, cause I need her comeback and two, cause my fav duo Soo Ryun (or her twin, we don't know) and Logan kissed... more like Logan giving CPR mouth-to-mouth, but tomayto-tomahto. Also, the biggest plot twist, at least to me... Bae Ro Na is the girl who fell down the stairs! Never in a million years would I have thought Ro Na bleeding out at the bottom of the stairs, broken... It broke my heart. One of the few sane and stable character in the drama, and they had to kill her... what were the writers thinking??? Unless she's not, then hallelujah! Also, I absolutely LOVE the character development of Jenny and her mom! Love the friendship that's developed between them, and Rona and her mom, too! (now I really hope Ro Na is alive...)
On the other hand, I want Dan Tae and Seo Jin dead please. It'll relieve my headache and stress and anxiety and high blood pressure all at once. Okay maybe wishing them off dead is too much... or is it? And how could Yoon Chul do that to Yoon Hee and Ro Na... Even though Eun Byul's his daughter, how could he... sigh imagine if Ro Na turned out to be his daughter too then what? All hell breaks loose. Another thing I can't wait for is when the twins meet Ji Ah's character, whether it's Soo Ryun or her twin. I know I'm going to cry when they meet...
Omg EPISODE 9!!!!! My fav ep cause SOO RYUN'S BAAACKKK!!! OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH THANK YOU! I was hoping and praying she was alive omg tysm writers-nim! On a side note, I have a feeling LoganxSooRyun couple is gonna be a thing, based on the vibez from Ep 10, at least i hope so! They're beautiful together~ Also, i love, love, love, love the maturity and character development of Jenny, she's now added to my very short list of fav characters. The relationship between her and her mom is so heartwarming to watch~ Seok Kyung was on her way towards joining my "fav club" but her attitude remained bratty and downright mean so she was kinda cancelled for me (at least until she starts to grow up then let's see) but i respect and adore her constant love for her twin brother. I see that not changing and I give her points for that. Though we might see her becoming a better person since she found out the secret behind her mom's "murder"... Like I said, I'm gonna start bawling when the twins meet Soo Ryun... And for Seo Jin, I guess karma hits you like a bitxh. Can we see Dan Tae getting beat up BAD for a change please?
Episode 10 and Logan has finally found out Soo Ryun is alive and well!! That hug was everything beautiful and precious~
Another thing about this episode though... Dan Tae scares the fuk out of me... Is there no limit to what he does? 'Monster' can't even begin to describe him omg. Turns out he's the main culprit to Bae Ro Na's death. And it seemed like she's not dead? Nothing's super clear right now, but I think Ro Na's alive~ And when Yoon Hee told Yoon Chul that Ro Na was his real daughter... it was mindblowing! I don't know if it's real or part of her plan, but the emotions on Yoon Chul's face when he realized he was aiding in the murder of his own daughter... i know it's karma but it was heartbreaking, too.
This season is strong and continues to be better twice every week gawd! We've got three more eps and as always, I'm can't wait for the next eps!!

A really funny and refreshing comedy slash horror film that was mostly comedy
So this movie is about the carefree Gin and how he gained two unlikely friends, Little Princess and Lu Qun, by "accidently" saving them from a bully. Since then, both of them tagged along with Gin, even to the point of following him all the way to his grandparents' hot spring hotel.Maybe I haven't watched as many comedy films before, especially Taiwanese ones, but this movie was a comedic masterpiece! There'd always be something to laugh about at least in every other scene, and it's not just your simple giggle but a full-blown belly laugh! More than a horror film, the comedic elements are what got to me tbh. They don't try too hard to be funny, it's just naturally funny, and I'm all for that :") Another thing that I loved and which actually brought me in, in the first place, was the bromance between Gin and Little Princess.
Just to be clear, this film was no way a BL (sad tbh) but it had really good bromance. And for me, that's a selling point. I'm bought! But for real though, I really liked the relationship between the trio. They were a hilarious trio. Chemistry between them were on point!
I honestly wasn't expecting much, seeing as this was my first Taiwanese movie, but I haven't laughed this much in such a long time, simply from an almost 2 hours long movie. Kudos!
Fyi, my music rating was a 1.0 'cause there really wasn't any music? If there was, it was only just the background music, I guess.

Ahhh~ Where to start? I just finished the drama a few minutes ago and I have so many feelings. 'Nobody Knows' is one of the best dramas I’ve watched in my life. All I have are good things to say about this drama and that should already be a reason to start watching it (to those who haven’t). You start watching drama with an anticipation because the plot looked interesting enough and then slowly, one episode after another, that anticipation NEVER dies! That’s something you rarely see in Kdramas, especially crime ones (at least for me). As I watched episode after episode, I had SO MANY questions and all sorts of scenarios kept popping in my head. Some were close to what I predicted, but many threw me off completely. As the drama title says, “nobody knows” (the viewers) what’s going on and we start asking so many questions but, let me tell you this, ALL those questions get answered. Another thing that I don’t see often in Kdramas, are the dramas’ inability to answer all the audiences’ questions; their failure in “tying up loose ends”. 'Nobody Knows' did that, and MORE.
I loved the relationships between the various characters, most especially between the high school trio (EunHo-MinSung-DongMyung). I loved how every one of the actors and actresses portrayed their characters exceptionally well, and I loved how they each had a story that pulled me in and made tears fall. I loved how I learned so many meaningful things that was worthwhile and full of weight. I loved all the OSTs of the drama, and I loved the way the story began and ended.
I loved every single thing about 'Nobody Knows', except for one thing.
I hate how the drama is now finished and I can’t keep watching it.
Note, my rewatch value for this drama is kinda low because honestly, just like the drama's name, the true beauty of 'Nobody Knows' is the fact that nobody knows what is happening and what to expect. The thrill comes from not knowing anything and always anticipating what's to come next. However, I would watch it again for the heartwarming moments and the relationship between the three kids. Their friendship was so pleasing to watch.
I would like to say, thank you to the director, screenwriter, actors and actresses for creating such a beautiful and breathtaking masterpiece.

So much going on but I'm loving it here
I wanted to give it some time before i wrote a review for this drama, at least after I've watched half of it. So here i am 8 eps in.And given that I'm here halfway through the drama, I've only got good things to say.
From the get-go, the plot was already my style. It intrigued me so much I knew I had to give it try. It was also impossibly unique. From ep 1, I was so sure who the killer was and was so certain of it 'cause I had concreate evidence to back my theory, but then few episodes in, my mind changes... and then I'm thinking to myself, "maybe they're accomplices?" But then something happens that goes against my speculations. It plays around with my head so much It started to annoy me! Oof!
And it creeps me out 'cause the moment I began feeling so frustrated, the flow changed. Like it read me. Does it sound dramatic lmao but i kid you not. I was no longer confused and the real killer was shown. And knowing who the killer was for certain while watching this drama as an audience was another type of experience. You get to see how the other characters behave, how the killer killed and what the fukken hell was going through his head when he did what he did. You see the aftermath in a different perspective and that's pretty cool.
Another thing is they don't drag it for too long. Seeing as Ep. 8 is done, we've got 8 more eps and that's half of the drama left. Instead of focusing on the caught killer, the flow changed again, and i love it here. After watching the teaser for Ep. 9, it feels like the killer committed suicide? And even though he/she may have killed a lot of people, the killer Dong Sik has been looking for the past 20 years may actually be someone else? It just keeps getting better and better! I'm not bored for a minute when I watch this drama!
Last thing I've got to talk about is the chemistry between Dong Sik and Joo Won! OMG talk about tension! They were perfect, as rivals, friends, partners, whatever it was, they pulled it off together, and they did it so well! The first few eps, I was worried they'd stay as enemies slash colleagues-who-put-up-with-each-other-cause-they-are-cops-and-killing-one-another-is-illegal but Ep. 8 was a sigh of relief. They're going to team up and catch the killers that run havoc in Manyang and bring justice to the victims!
UPDATE:
Finished watching EPS 9 and 10 and omg so much happened! Someone else dies and it's heartbreaking... That ending scene of EP 10 was devastating yet the chemistry between Dong Shik and Joo Won is simply amazing. They would have made the best partners from the get-go but due to misunderstandings and pride and their stubbornness, we didn't get to see it, at least I hope until now. 'Cause finally Dong Shik acknowledged Joo Won as his partner (he said it in WORDS yasss!!!), and I didn't expect that hug at the end of EP 10 but it was beautiful and heart-wrenching at the same time. I want to say they're at last going to work together for real, but I thought the same thing last week for this week's eps... We've got 6 more eps until it ends, I hope we get a happy ending please!
All in all, I love this drama to bits! The genre, the plot, the castings, the bromance!! 100/100!!!

STORY: It's a melodrama with a tragedy in the mix. There is your typical family competition and hatred, but what stood out to me was how lukewarm the drama was. Lukewarm in the sense, there's no action, love rival, murder, none of those things, yet 'Chocolate' was such a beautiful and must-watch drama. I especially loved the fact that the two main leads met when they were children and how they were, in fact, more connected they thought they were, which added to the emotions when they finally discovered said 'connections.' I loved how the drama started and ended, and I have no complains whatsoever.
CHARACTERS: No complains for any of the casts, too. They played their roles exceptionally. I loved Kye Sang's and Ji Won's characters the most. Kye Sang's who seemed cold at first, but is actually the warmest and kindest person. He's not your normally played cold character in kdramas. Kye Sang's was respectful, soft and full of love to the very end. He was never disrespectful and always treated everyone with kindness. You rarely see that nowadays in dramas, so I appreciated it very much. Ji Won's character was as kind and selfless as Kye Sang's. She lived everyday for the sake of other people's happiness, and did so happily. The love between these two was so beautiful and soft, I didn't want the drama to end. They matched each other so perfectly~
The other side-characters were also as excellent. They each had a story worth listening to, and every time a person died, my heart broke and my eyes filled with tears. They were all incredible people.
MUSIC: I loved all the songs and instrumentals used. They were all winsome.
I really recommend this drama. It would really heal one's heart and soul~

Been waiting for more than a year
The much-awaited and the most anticipated thai bl drama of the year! And one I've been waiting to watch since the first trailer came out more than a year ago! WHY'D IT TAKE SO LONG?!?! But I'm not complaining anymore because omg 'A Tale of Thousand Stars' (1000stars) is everything I didn't know I needed. It's only been five eps but i can see it getting better and better. So far, it's a slow and steady journey, which I really appreciate cause I wanna take my time adoring and loving them, and understanding every part of this series. The first episode kinda scared me because I've been looking forward to this series for a very, very long time yet it wasn't giving me the "THIS IS IT!" vibes... More than half of the first ep was about life "before" Tian's life in the village, and I was honestly getting bored, but when ep. 2 came out, I was relieved. It was what I've expected, and more! I have a feeling 1000stars is gonna be a well-paced, beautifully-told story that'll leave me wanting more and more every single time. Fingers crossed it doesn't take take too long for it to pick up its pace ^-^
So the story is about how Tian's life turned upside-down the moment he had his heart transplant. Maybe his life the right-side up was never the life meant for him :) Once he was bestowed with a new heart, he was given a second chance. No longer was he that rash, ignorant and cold, rich guy. He's now "Mr. Seetian", the soft and kind (with a bit of a stubborn streak) volunteer teacher at the Pha Pun Dao Village with a thousand-star promise somehow involved between Tian and Phupha. Phupha's a Chief Forest Office who, at first, wants nothing to do with Tian cause he thinks the younger's just a spoilt, rich boy who's come sightseeing into the village and would 'run for the hills' once things get tough. But Tian is not who he was anymore. He's a changed man, or more like he was becoming a changed man, so he's not gonna back down from a challenge anymore. As the series progresses, you can also see Phupha softening up to the "city boy", or maybe he was already soft for him from the moment they first met <3 Also, none of the people at the village know that Tian's carrying a heart that used to belong to someone dear to them, and I'm actually looking forward to when that secret's exposed. Though I'm terrified, too... Will things change? Between Tian and Phupha, but also with the villagers, because now Tian has made a home for himself at the village. They're his family now, and they adore him as much as he does them. Phupha's found out about Tian's chest scar and questioned him about it but all Tian said was "heart surgery"... There's a difference between heart surgery and heart transplant, Tian... Better tell Phupha the truth before it's too late. Better he finds it from you than from somewhere else.
Besides the plot, how can we NOT talk about the chemistry between Tian and Phupha?? It's sizzling! The way their eyes portray emotions words cannot express, I'm mind-blown. As actors, they're seriously top-tier. In real-life, Mix and Earth are already so close and you can clearly see that reflected on-screen. The relationship between Tian and Phupha is so soft and "traditional" where all they do is flirt through their eyes and love each from afar, but once they meet in the middle, game's over cause I'll be ded. Even without touching or any skinship you can see the chemistry plain as day. I'm looking forward to the day their lips touch (I'm suddenly so shy).
Another thing I'd like to comment on... Tian, my boy, what are you doing to your health? You're basically a patient but you go around climbing mountains and hills, eating spicy and unhealthy food, running around and playing vigorously, and getting yourself into fights (even though some of them aren't your fault). The way it's going, you losing consciousness is bound to happen, cause there's only so much your frail body can take. You got yourself a second chance, but third time is not always a charm. Look after yourself, please.
So, the story is progressing slowly, nothing too shocking or mind-blowing except for Tian fainting at the end of the latest ep... But I hope their engines start soon because it's already going to be ep. 6 next week and soon the series will be over ;---; Downside of being a Thai BL fan lol it's just too short x__x

An interesting and unique Korean mini BL
Sometimes it's the good ones that aren't long enough. It's already been 2 eps and we've got 6 more to go...I've loved all the Korean BL mini dramas, and this one may be added to the list, too. The story is unique, a relationship between a debtor and creditor; one is a dancer while the other is a general manager. I can sense the chemistry between the two main leads in just 2 small eps. They haven't done much yet they hide this intense tension that's gentle at the same time? Does it even make sense? On the other hand, I found the "falling" scenes kind of awkward... maybe it's just me? It's a bit exaggerated and dramatic lol
Also, first time I've seen anyone wipe out a tear and TASTE it wtf ahahahahaha I guess there's a first time for every thing.
Looking forward to the next few eps~

This was a good drama about humanity and how not everything you see is true; there's more than meets the eye. It's for a fact that you don't know how people live their lives and the struggles they face, but you can always be there for them, even by just listening to their stories. This is my second time watching this and I wonder why. The drama seemed to have some awkward kind-of-feeling to it and although it started out really well, it eventually lost it's charm a bit. NONETHELESS, the story's good enough and the casts are amazing, most especially the good-looking male lead. And, of course, I loved the relationship between the two main leads. It was so cute, beautiful and... heartbreaking. I wasn't too sad though. because I know, in the end, those two would always find each other, as they've always done. I also loved the father-son relationship between the reaper and his son.
The OSTs used in this drama are my personal favourites. 'Just for my Love' by Kim Hyun Joong is always on repeat.
