I've Seen A Unicorn before I reached the End

I am writing this review simply because I need a breather to collect my thoughts.
I am gifting this show a UNICORN rating and I'm only at ep 25. The reason why is because it won't matter what my final individual ratings will be. I will change them when I get to the end but so far that's what I'm rating for the first half.
Reasons -
1. I actually feel woozy.
This show has got me feeling like I need to go cry into a wine bottle. I was not prepared for the last few episodes. I don't like Cheng Yi mad and that's what's done it. I'm a fangirl and I'm very drawn to subtle expressions of his eyes but seeing him mad makes me very uncomfortable, however, much like his character, I don't know who to trust either.
2. I have no idea where this is going and I trust no one either. I'm side eyeing everyone but the FL. Even Cheng Yi. 😂
3. How much I LOVE this villain.
He's like that Mob Boss that you can't help but love. He's out of his mind and he's deadly but he's hilarious and I laugh with him. I love his little quips and blinks the actor does that just gives you that feeling that he's hanging on to his sanity by a thread. Using for me villains are either so over the top cartoon evil or they're just really annoying. Either way, I wait for their death. This guy. I'm genuinely loving him so much, I can't wait to see what he does next.
At first the series started off very slow but I was still interested. I remember during ep 8 being surprised that I was still on ep 8. The first ten episodes felt really long. It's a slow unravel kind of show, and there are 49 episodes. At 25, we still havent revealed the FL's real identity. Although, the audience can guess.
In short it's a slow unravel of deceptions and schemes in the fight for the throne. That's basically what the plot is but since I'm only half way through this series, this is not a full review - yet. I just need to get this out of my system.
