I joined specifically bc this was so bad
It's hard to believe something this bad was released this year. It really seems like something produced back in 2001.
From the manager doing makeup in a conference room by herself multiple episodes, to one character making a dash for their car that's parked in the middle of a building's open plaza that screams PRODUCT PLACEMENT, to the characters lying in a bed at home immediately after being beaten, to the most awkward psuedo sex scene since The Room, there were so many odd choices it made it hard to watch. The actors closely started out trying to act, but it seems like literally everyone involved gave up and phoned it in after the first 30 minutes. Highschoolers can produce better quality content for youtube/tiktok content.
And, despite watching the last episode twice, i have no idea what happened. First, the mom was anti-gay, then worried about social judgement, then anti-Ying. Then the couple breaks up in an extended, flowery sequence, Ding quits his job, and then... in the last minute, the couple bumps into each other and it's implied they're together again. But between all this, and all the lost threads along the way, Ding's mom hasn't been shown to change her opinion and we have no idea what's going on with her, Ding hasn't started another job, did Ding & Ying bump into each other coincidentally or did they plan to meet up? I still don't understand.
The best thing about this was the outtakes episode. The leads clearly had some chemistry, but somewhere, something along the process squandered it.
I wish the actors better luck in the future.
