Beautiful characters who you will laugh with, and cry with.
I have a lot I could say about this drama, however, I think many of the other reviews hit on the wonderfully written characters, the incredible acting, the beautiful OST. However, I think many people are disagreeing over the ending.Firstly, this drama was never meant to be about eternal love. It was about youth, about memories, and most importantly, about how timing is the biggest villain of them all. I think the ending we received in the show perfectly encapsulated that. The issues that caused the two to drift apart in episode 16 were not something that could be "simply fixed". They were the issues that arise when young people grow up and settle into their new lives. Yijin and Heedo were heading in very different directions. This doesn't mean their love died. It doesn't mean their love for one another never existed. It simply means that their love wasn't enough to beat the times that the two of them were entering. If that's not realistic, then I'm not sure what is.
Maybe I am a bit biased because I have always loved bittersweet endings that hit closer to home. However, I think if this drama ended any other way, it would have felt cheap and unrealistic. This ending (though it DID make me cry like a baby) was the ending that made the most sense, showed the most growth for our characters, and most importantly, it stayed true to the theme of the drama and the message it had been aiming to convey throughout its entirety.
I don't know if I could ever rewatch this drama without crying the entire way through, but it's one of my all time favorites, easily. The romantic love, platonic love, familial love, all of it made it such a beautiful story with characters that truly felt like family to me by the end. I highly recommend anyone to watch this drama.
Unless, of course, you aren't a fan of bittersweet endings.

The Flashbacks Were Better Than The Main Plotline
This show was pretty good, but it was a bit disappointing for me. The beginning was amazing, but the big portion of the middle of the drama was quite repetitive and boring. I think that what really threw me off about this drama was the fact that the younger actors that played the main characters in the flashback scenes had more chemistry and put on a better performance than the main actors. I found myself getting super excited for the flashback scenes, and enjoyed them more that the “present day” timeline. However, in the last few episodes I really enjoyed the drama as a whole once again, and the ending scene where the adults hug the younger versions of themselves was touching. All in all, it was a decent show and the crime elements were interesting enough to at least keep me somewhat engaged. I wouldn’t rewatch it, but if you’re looking for an angsty romance with a sweet ending, this might be something you’d enjoy.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
