City of Stars stands out in so many ways

This show is a gift. No toxic relation, no pull and push relation. But two working adults who are honest about their feelings and resolve any problem quickly by just talking. No shouting, no arguments. It is so refreshing!
The way how the toxic fans are called out, the homophobia in society, the way we use social media, often to harm people.
This is a smart script. I applaud all the people who came up with this idea and that Starhunter said, let's do this!

Loved it!

Rooting for the three living together :)

I've had this series on my watchlist for quite a while, primarily because of two actors: Hyuga Wataru and Akaso Eiji. I had previously seen them in BL series and thought they were talented performers. So, when I stumbled upon this show on Netflix, I decided to dive in and ended up binge-watching it within three days. It definitely had a captivating quality that kept me hooked, putting several other K-dramas and BL series on hold.

Now, I’ll delve into some spoilers, so proceed with caution! The story features hairdresser Kayashima and fireman Shirahama as they walk down the street to catch a train. The way Kayashima gazes at Shirahama instantly gave me strong BL vibes, making it seem like the hairdresser was quite taken with him. Then there’s Miss Hatano, a gymnastics teacher. She knows Shirahama from a distance, having been inspired by him during a demonstration at her school, which gave her the courage to do her best at her work in school, trying to engage more with her pupils.

They find themselves on wagon 5 and, along with wagon 6, get lost—not just in space but in time, ending up in 2026. The show emphasizes the relationships and bonds between the characters. At one point, it nearly resembles "Lord of the Flies" due to tension between the two groups, but thanks to Yonezawa’s heartfelt speech, conflict is averted.

Shirahama harbors unrequited feelings back in 2023, while Hatano clearly has feelings for him. Despite Kayashima's seemingly stoic demeanor, he becomes a source of strength, and Hatano grows increasingly fond of him. Meanwhile, Kayashima, feeling he has no chance with Hatano, tries to push her and Shirahama together. Shirahama is the leader of wagon 5 and feels a overwhelming responsibility.

Japanese dramas often tread a fine line when it comes to romantic scenes, oscillating between being overly restrained and excessively explicit. In this series, the romantic tension is very subtle, with no kissing or overt displays of affection. You can only infer that one couple is together based on protective gestures, and I sensed a potential connection between Yonezawa and Tako, but nothing materializes there. Allthough their genuine care for each other and smiles and banter, looked stronger then a bromance

Another bromance, that between Shirahama and Kayashima, is quite strong throughout the series. The ending left me somewhat puzzled. It appeared that Kayashima finally expressed his feelings for Hatano, suggesting they would head off to Switzerland together, with many other survivors from wagon 5. However, he ultimately sought out Shirahama. I strongly believed Shirahama had feelings for Hatano as well, and at one point, I even wondered why the three of them didn’t consider living together as a trio, given their deep bond.

One of the more confusing aspects was that only 53 out of the 113 people returned, but instead of going back to 2023, they ended up in 2026. It seemed that the survivors of wagon 6 had no idea they could go back in time. They stayed behind in the future. The conclusion of this show left me to question if Japan was safe. I think it is, as the professor appeared relieved after a phone call. Overall, the conclusion left me feeling somewhat unfulfilled. I wanted to know for sure if Kayashima and Hatano are going to end up as a couple and what with Shirahama?

Soju Bomb is a entertaining show about idol trainees. Great storytelling.

Let me begin with the obvious, this show has been categorised as a
BL show. But it is anything but a BL show. I am currently in a 7 months ongoing BL content binge. I already watched Close friend season 1. And dropped season 2 somewhere.

But was lured in episode 3 after just one episode. And i don't regret this at all.

This show deserves more praise. The rating is ridiculous low.
The actors were very good, the story was good, funny and heartwarming. The camerawork, the Thai actors that also really could speak Korean. The storyline about the strict rules for trainees hoping to become a idol.

I was looking forward to each episode, i always viewed the intro, cause it where lovely visuals of the main actors with a great song, That i now just looked up, it is Highlight from B-rock and i have put it in my Spotify list.

This show has to be marketed as something else than a BL. We can look for instance at I will be your bloom from Japan, allso a series about a boyband, struggling to get a debut. With a bisexual character in it. The characters are not one dimensional.

Because this Soju bomb show is very good, great storytelling. and entertaining, but don't let people get fooled by thinking they are going to see a BL show.
It is really good drama with a happy end.

It was worth waiting for.

I was glad that this show is on air now.

The storyline is out of the box, not the 13 in a dozen.

Our male leads are terrific. That barscene, as if there were no other people then them.

And the enemy to lovers, that will be exciting.

What I also like is that they are not covered in a thick layer of make up, what I see in so many other Thai BL series, where caramel skin turns to white and are unnatural flawless.

No, they leave Yin and War natural, which is very good, cause they are handsome allready.

Impressed with Yin's taekwondo skills, I don't know if that is his hobby or that he had to practise hard for this role.

War, he looked so adorable in disguise, with the fringe, the braces and the glasses.

I think that these roles in this series is better than Love Mechanics.
