Don't Waste Your Time
The portrayal of this show leaves much to be desired. Despite the presence of talented actors and actresses, the plot suffers from poor writing that becomes increasingly disappointing as the series progresses. The tone of the show leans more towards parody and comedy rather than a serious narrative, making it difficult to take seriously. The plot twists feel overly contrived and unrealistic, almost as if the writer lost interest and opted for lazy storytelling. For instance, the revelation of Matthew's identity as K, with the ability to seamlessly adopt different personas like Kang Ki Tak or Min Do Hyuk, comes across as absurd, especially given the notable physical differences, such as their dental structure. While acknowledging the character underwent plastic surgery, the sudden change in teeth seems implausible.Initially, the series attempted to engage with an overly dramatic tone, which I was willing to give a chance. However, after several episodes, it becomes evident that the storyline lacks direction and fails to develop meaningfully. The evident squandering of a high budget on this production feels regrettable.
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend investing time in this show. If I had the option, I would rate it a 0.

She should have just remained on that island
Castaway Diva started with a stark depiction of child abuse, setting up a dark fantasy theme. The fate of her father's corpse on the island was left ambiguous, though I suspect she might have eaten him. While the show was initially cute and fun, it became tedious by episode 8, leading me to skip scenes. I expected the plot to focus on Mokha's rise to stardom, but it was bogged down by immature attempts at thrilling subplots. The real father should have confronted the stepfather earlier rather than in the final episode. If Mokha had navigated these challenges while pursuing her career, the show wouldn't have lost momentum. Additionally, Ran Joo's character became tiresome, filled with self-pity and dependence on Mokha. What started as a charming story ultimately turned out to be disappointing.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
A scam worth falling for
It's rare to find a Japanese drama that strikes a perfect balance between realism and entertainment. While there were a few moments where the plot felt predictable, the story's execution kept me thoroughly engaged from start to finish. The acting was nothing short of exceptional, where each character portrayed a remarkable commitment to their role and purpose within the team.
The direction was masterful, seamlessly blending tension, drama, and occasional humour.
I'm very happy with the show's pacing, despite my wish for a longer runtime, I appreciate that they chose to keep it short.

Inspirational! Exciting! Great cast! But...dragged on after ep13
"This show was a visual feast with its vibrant cinematography and skilled direction. The ensemble cast delivered outstanding performances, evoking a powerful sense of nostalgia for the 80s. Despite not being born in that era, the series sparked in me a desire to travel back in time and take up fencing myself.Initially, I intended to have it play in the background, but Na-Hee Do's character captivated me with her persistence, fighting spirit, and personal growth. Moon Ji-woong injected humor into the narrative, while Ko Yu Rim and the remaining cast members offered average performances. However, there were several storylines that felt completely unnecessary. The series could have reached a satisfying conclusion by the 12th episode; the extension only diluted its impact.
Two specific narratives left me questioning their significance. Ji Seung-wan dropping out of school to raise awareness about corporal punishment seemed weakly executed. By the series' end, it became evident that this arc had minimal influence on the overall storyline. It felt like a two-episode tangent that lacked substantial relevance.
Similarly, Ko Yu-Rim's family struggles initially provided depth to her character, emphasizing how backgrounds can both motivate and burden individuals. However, the exaggerated portrayal of her father's car accident and the subsequent financial strain felt unnecessary. The lack of development for the injured character and the exaggerated circumstances made this arc feel drawn-out and tiresome.
Moreover, the sudden shift in Baek Yi-jin's behavior towards Na Hee-Do after her confession of love seemed jarring and poorly executed. The ensuing two episodes seemed misplaced and could have been omitted without affecting the storyline. His decision to change departments later on raised questions about why he didn't make that choice earlier.
Overall, I'd rate this series a 7/10. It had the potential for an 8, but the inclusion of unnecessary subplots that extended the show to 16 episodes detracted from its quality."
Hopefully, this captures your thoughts and organizes them in a clearer and more polished manner!

A bitter disappointing…
I don’t get how Lee Sa Na gets away with so much. How does she manage to have people work for her like she’s some powerful entity? How does she carry around bodies and never leave traces when sending out threats and killing people? The more the story unravels, the more ridiculous it gets. You’d think it has the potential to improve with each episode, but it doesn’t. I’m so very disappointed; what a bitter sweet hell to watch.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Don't play with death! A Stirring Reflection in Every Episode
Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster with this show that skillfully navigates the aftermath of suicide, featuring a truly remarkable cast. The storytelling offers a unique perspective on the struggles faced by those left behind, tackling the heavy themes of depression and its ripple effects. Each episode is a thrilling exploration of life's value and the potential consequences of one's actions on both personal and interpersonal levels. The show poignantly highlights the absence of second chances, emphasising the irreparable nature of certain choices.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
Blend of Cheesy Cliches
Another cheesy drama. I couldn’t even get through 4 episodes. Not sure why people still fall for the same plot time and time again. SO OVERHYPED AND OVERRATED.Combining makjang, chaebol, and romance resulted in an even cheesier mix that fell flat. Despite the hype, there was no redeeming quality. The male lead was dull, and his constant crying was unbearable. His portrayal was weak and pathetic. The plot is cliché, the story unrealistic, the acting overly dramatic, and the entire show lacked depth and substance.

Finally, Consistency!
Wow, what a masterpiece! No unnecessary romance, solid plot, excellent writing, superb directing, and spectacular acting. The series stayed true to its genres of suspense, mystery, and thriller. It took me a while to start watching this, and now I'm sad it's over. It will be a while before I find another K-drama this excellent. I definitely recommend it if you’re into thriller, crime drama, law, mystery, and suspense.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
