Good short drama if you don't have anything else to watch
The show has 4 episodes of 30 minutes each, so it's like a 2-hour long movie. The drama is quite good, although there wasn't much going on and the story is nothing out of ordinary. The good:
- Fluffy and mature with nice characters.
- Unexpected good chemistry between the leads. I've nevem imaged Kim Seon Ho and Lee Yoo Young together, but I was surprised and impressed with the couple.
- It's nothing new to praise Kim Seon Ho acting, but he was great once again. Lee Yoo Young was also great, as I could not image her playing the lead in Tunnel. It was like two different person.
- Raw emotions with cohesive dialogues and discussions. Real adult with real problems.
The bad:
- Supporting characters? Just to help the couple notice each other. It was a cheap way to make the leads relationship change a bit.
- The first 2 episodes were gold, but the last two were a lil' draggy and some overextended scenes. This is probably because of the 4-episode format. Maybe if it was movie the execution would be better?
- I would like to see more of the working life of the leads. But it is understandable.
- Aaahh, that ending. Why do short dramas love time skip? I just don't understand. The leads have the confession time where BOTH said they like each other. But then then FL says that this will break up their friendship and then just cut all contact with the male lead for a year? What? I understand her worry of starting a romantic relationship with the best friend. But give up without even trying and staying away for a whole year? And then she just comes back and that's it. He was waiting for her for a year. Everything comes back to normal and now they are dating. Very unrealistic.
Overall, it's a good drama to watch when you have nothing else to do. Sit and enjoy the ride. Even if you are mad at the end, you at least enjoyed the couple's chemistry.

It seems good, but it isn't...
As you might have read in the plot summary, it seems to be an interesting story. But, it is not even close to that, ans I actually don't even know what I have watched. I've seen this drama months ago, and I cal still remember clearly how bad it is.But let's start with the good stuff:
Im Joo Hwan character (the villain): his acting was on point. He showed everything the character was feeling, and I really cried at the end when he imagines his life going the right way.
The soundtrack: the show has some good music, and all the scenes get better because of it.
Now, the bad:
Everything else! The inicial idea of the story is nice. However, the execution was bad, so very bad. The story goes nowhere ans it is so repetitive. The same thing happens again and again. The leads are dumb and the villain plays with them all the time. The first episodes are good, but then it drags until the end.
I've never liked Ok Taec Yeon that much, and now I can't see him without just hating looking at his face. Poor guy... he's a great person (or it seems), but I can't stand his acting and expressions. The female lead is equally bad, although I've seen her in The Package and she was okay there.
The romantic scenes in Towards Zero are emotionless. I can see how the male lead fell in love with the FL, but not the other way around. The ML doesn't have a personality besides having the power of seeing how people will die. I can't fell the love between them, and maybe that's why, for the first time ever, I could't watch most of the romantic senes. It felt so out of place and forced.
Other aspects are just okay or not even worth mentioning.
In the end, I was just glad I finished this and didn't drop it, don't ask me how. It was good seeing Im Joo Hwan and getting emotional with the soundtrack, and I quite liked the final minutes of the show. It wasn't all bad, but rewatch value is zero.

Overall, enjoyable show with some major flaws.
I avoided watching this drama for a long time, especially because of the reviews saying how undeveloped the story is. I finally gave a chance, and it was actually enjoyable for the most part. There are more cons than pros, but it is not a bad drama and can help you pass the time. For the plot summary, I expected some great and non-ordinary story. But, what we have is, as everyone said, nothing. The first episodes are intriguing and make you have great expectations for the future. The characters are well developed, at least in the beginning, and the world building is awesome. What could have possible gone wrong? The story goes nowhere! It's always the same thing over and over again. At the end, we have the same questions we had when starting he show. The only progress we have is the romance between Dan Oh and Haru, in which at least they have a good chemistry and are very comfortable with each other. The story forgets about the world building and mystery, and focus on the crazy love triangle and saving people from danger... all the time. We are watching Haru saving Dan Oh, or Dan Oh saving Haru. And that goes until the end. We also have a horrible second male lead that is controlling and crazy, although there is a character development for him. Great!
At the end, they still found a way to have a rushed ending.
What is good about the Extraordinary You?
- Even with the major plot flaws, the story is quite different from what we've seen so far.
- Chemistry between the leads. I liked their romance and scenes together. They were cute.
- Good supporting characters and great acting from everyone. Well, Rowoon did okay.
- Beautiful soundtrack.
The bad?
- The story goes from an interesting plot to a normal romance story of selfless acts.
- Unanswered questions, and a LOT!
- Amnesia trope. And now one, but TWO times.
- Hateful characters: the second lead (Baek Kyung) and Oh Nam Joo. I can't see how people loved Baek Kyung and actually wanted him to be with Dan Oh over Haru. I was wondering If i watched the same show. Baek Kyung was rude, controlling, toxic, aggressive, and treated Dan Oh like trash. Also, he acted that way both in and out the shadow (where we can control his action and words), so don't come with the excuse of "not being him". Oh Nam Joo was bad like Baek Kyung, but at least he was being controlled all the time, so I can give him a break.
- I felt like I've watched a show of 20 episodes, because the same situation kept repeating itself.
- Rushed ending.
To sumarize, I did enjoy watching Extraordinary You and I can totally see myself watching it again with someone in the future.
The second male lead has a good amount of screen time, ans his relationship with the FL might upset you, but he is a hopeless second lead who can't accept a no and tries to interfere with the main couple, but all in vain. Haru and Dan Oh are strong. There a lot of people who like him, so you might me one of them.
Even with the bad things mentioned, if you like romance with some angst, you might enjoy it.

It is cute... good? No. Just cute, sometimes.
Just for the plot summary, we can see that it's a romcom that must be filled with cliches. I love cliches, but this drama just used every hateful cliches and tropes imaginable. To start, let´s talk about how I quite enjoyed the chemistry and the fluffy scenes. It wasn't the best thing ever, but it was not bad. And that's the only good part about it.
This drama managed to use the cliches and tropes of: friends to lovers, breakup, ex "comes back", hide the feelings for the "greater good", someone got sick (almost dead), miscommunication, time skip for the sake of I don't know who, and much more. All the characters made some questionable choices. I just could not understand how they thought that staying with the person you don't like is the better choice.
There is no much to say about the story, it is the famous friends met again, help each other, fall in love, hide the feelings, decide to stay with the wrong person because "I'm the only one with these feelings, the other person doesn't see me this way", then we have a time skip, and in the end they get together. That's it. Great show. Rating 4.5.
