Immature plot
I’m sorry to say this but the plot idea was so immature and if maybe it was possibly done so on purpose to cater to a younger audience then that would make much more sense as to why the tone was so different from the parent story. One thing I did like was the music since it’s the same one from the parent story. However in my opinion the music is too sophisticated for the plot and doesn’t match at all.
It was also nice to see the King and Ying Lu interact with each other again. She honestly stole the show in the sequel tooo! Impressive acting on Wu Jin Yan’s part.
***********Spoilers below*******
Honestly I’m baffled by the princess idea of revenge and how easily she was willing to forgive and even encourage the person who approached her with sinister motives. Definitely not like her mother at all.
The whole thing just reads teenage high school drama. Could have just put everything into a movie and saved me the anticipation.
There were so many major plot holes which basically confused the whole ending and the progression of the story made no sense.
The male lead who hates someone with her personality fell for her in a matter of 3 days? Or maybe he fell for her because she rejected him? Second ML I don’t understand when he fell for her because the whole time he was taking pleasure in conspiring against her.
Tbh Fu Heng’s not so biological son got off unbelievably easy for someone who put the life and well being of a princess at risk and calling a noble consort by name in front of a lot of servants when in the first season Wei Ying Lou couldn’t even say her sisters real name because part of the name was the same as some consort’s name.
Thoroughly disappointed.

Black Knight: Cel Care Mă Apără

What I can appreciate about this drama is the fact that It gave me what I searched for in Korean drama land since I began watching them 10 years ago. A consistent villain and vengeance. There is a theme in Kdrama world where the villainess can push you down the stairs, be the reason for public humiliation or a life threatening situation but because she decided to change 4 episodes before the end; all is forgiven. Everyone is chummy.
Black Knight's Sharon differs in the fact that she wants one thing and she is consistent in wanting it. She is willing to do anything to have it and if she fails she tries again and again. If what Sharon wanted was to rule the country not a man she would be my ultimate hero.
Alas she wants a specific penis and is willing to kill who ever is in the way of it. I don’t believe her punishment was matched her crimes. She needed much much more.
Now I am a sucker for the grease so the cheesey fluffy moments between the two leads made me very happy. I loved their relationship and how affectionate it was. The only thing I didn’t like was how submissive she became.
Another relationship I Loved was Becky and Sharon. Their comical antics as they go through time and their support for each other although the held different views on redemption was very cute. You can sense their bond as they continue to quabble but cannot help but always run to find each other.
This drama should have been 12 episodes long. As I write this I am trying to remember the story worth 20 episodes and I don’t remember anything much. Really! One point to the writers: Sharon commits two major crimes that go unnoticed by the cops in a way that makes them just plain lazy.
The music was genius! The piggy sound that is played when something freaky happens may have been the source of why I needed to watch this drama in public areas during the day light. Daydream by Kwon Sun Il being my favorite . Rather than the story having control of my emotions, it was the music.
Acting wise I am curious to the reason Kim Rae Won chose to participate in this drama. He is arguably among the best actors in SK and yet his last two dramas have been his least challenging roles. Playing the savior rich man who guides the young female lead.
I like Shin Se Kyung in this role because she wasn’t over acting. She was calmer and more mature. That’s as far as I can comment on her acting skills.
I am excited to watch the actress who played Sharon in other dramas. She was by far the scene stealer and definitely swayed the audience to her side. Although like with the rest of the cast I didn’t see any breakthrough performance moment from her.
I will be rewatching simply for the comedy and fluff.

THIS DRAMA DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE COMPARED FATHER IS STRANGEMy Review contains spoilers
I want to start of nice and say the character introduction was done so well. In fact I would say the first quarter of the drama was soo good I looked forward to it each weekend.
Then they ruined it, either they ran out of their creative juices or the switched writers or the first part of the story was stolen from a different writer before it was finished. I have tried to come up with so many reasons why a perfectly good drama was ruined.
I am completely fine with the male lead giving the female lead her space to grow professionally and emotionally that part is fine. HOWEVER there are SOOO many plot holes.
The relationship between the 2 youngest siblings was such a disappointment. The Cinderella youngest daughter's character deserved a better story line than she was given.
Woo Hyun Deserved a stronger characterization that he was given. In this drama he is basically just a crush boy and a good friend. His own character has no depth.
I also have many questions
Who was the man that rich mom was seeing? where did he end up with his life?
Where does the relationship with DK and grandpa stand at the end?
Does poor mom remain financially dependent on her kids?
Why were we introduced to their home sharing roommates if there was no story to tell?
How did Jisoo come to forgive her rich family after all they did to her poor Dad? Why did we never get that confrontation?

This is weirdly my favorite Thai Lakorn
The drama deserves a better rating and first of all Ploy SLAYED this drama and I've disliked all her other dramas before and after this one. Her character was such a baddie and her chemistry with Pope was absolutely a delicious treat. This drama just like Kleun Cheweet is incredibly frustrating and stressful to watch but the chemistry between the leads is so fun to watch they make it bearable to withstand all the drama. The female lead is no pushover and is in constant fight mode due to the insecurities caused by her past relationships (dramas are starting to ruin marriage for me) but boy was it satisfying to watch a female lead who is ready to stand up for herself and fight for herself although some times to extremes. I don't blame the FL for going constantly crazy because the male lead is such a noble idiot and both parties' behaviors created misunderstandings in the marriage.
Despite his idiocy being too nice to a woman his wife hated however, he believed in her and was a positive influence in her life. I really enjoyed how he remained patient to her antics and taught her to trust him.
Also loved how her sisters basically always had to take care of her crazy a** lol the opening scene is your girl crashing someone's wedding to confront the bride's friend that was sleeping with her husband, all in a red gown and dramatic makeup lmaooo. Such a satisfying female lead
I've rewatched this drama like 4 times already and still loving it

Guilty Pleasure
If you got to season three then you obviously know that this is not a drama to take seriously. It's more of something fun to watch and laugh at because it might be campy but severely lacks artistry. Season three is my favorite of the writer's roster of work and if you are familiar with her then you know that she likes to pack all the crazy in one body of work. The Pros:
The evil step-mother in law gets what she deserves and so do the cheating husbands in this season which is very satisfying to watch to a great level.
At this point two of the OG wives are on the path to genuine happiness with men that simply adore them and their children. They are glowing, dressing up, smiling and it's a Hot Ex-Wives Summer this season and I am LOVING EVERY MOMENT OF IT. They say the best revenge is moving on and gaining your own happiness and that is an understatement for the ladies that have gained themselves not only new adoring men but also wealthier. Thank you writer-nim.
The children have matured in this drama and I love seeing their internal conflict of selfishly wanting to hold on to their innocence and their original family but also recognizing the importance of their parents' happiness. One of my favorite quotes that are repeatedly said by the kids is that they too will move on with their lives and it's unfair to expect their mothers to remain alone.
The romance is sweet this season as it is not between married men and their mistresses but rather between divorced middle-aged women and their significant others. Watching them get pampered with genuine love and affection simply because they deserve it and not out of marital obligation is so healing.
The Cons:
I am not a fan of how the writer seems to be trying to force us to feel bad for the husbands and mistresses in this season. They made their bed and should rightly lay on it and Karma is a cold-hearted witch. I would honestly prefer they stopped showing us the husbands and sorely focused on the ex-wives alone.
I am all for ridiculous Ghosts roaming around but when they begin to possess people who owe them nothing... that is going too far! I feel like this writer doesn't like unapologetically independent women because what is with this nonsense that is being force-fed to us?
Overall:
The good outweighs the bad and I still find myself counting down the days to the next episode like an addict. I am hooked and I am loving the journey even if forces me to let out a couple of curses along the way.
