Didn’t age well
This drama def didn't age well. After finishing this all I can say is SLS is strong. Why on earth would Mi Nam continue to fall for the Tae Kyung and his prickly, rude and often downright childish behavior! Yes Tae Kyung helped her oftentimes but his ego and pride really was awful. Shin Woo was so caring and helped Mi Nam without the drama. Shin Woo deserved better! The FL's behavior also got very annoying after awhile. It's understandable that bc she only grew up in the nunnery orphanage (and as a result wanted to become a nun) the character would be very mousy. But after the umpteenth time of "sorry" and meek behavior bc she lead a cloistered life i just had it with her.

A comparison to the Kdrama Something in the Rain
Knowing that this is a remake of the Kdrama Something in the Rain, I have to say this had some better parts and some worse parts.Better:
OST - OMG this drama had waaaaay better music than SITR. So grateful I didn’t have to hear the equivalent “Stand By Your Man” refrain over and over. ThisCdrama OST felt light and refreshing
Evil parent - So glad there wasn’t the equivalent of Jin Ah’s crazy and whiny mom whose reasons of being against the relationship was just so lame. In this drama I could actually sympathize with Yi Ke’s dad since the main couple’s relationship was one of also being step siblings. Though not related by blood, the Asian conservative culture would def frown on their love. Parents would definitely have been gossiped about with neighbors, friends and extended family.
Stronger FL - I love Son Ye Jin but her character, Jin Ah, was way too meek and a complete pushover. Angelababy’s Yi Ke, though meek, she definitely wasn’t a pushover. Even at the beginning she was very competent at her job; she just wasn’t good with office politics. In the end, with Guang Xi’s confidence boost, Yi Ke developed more self love and self confidence and was able to fight her way back to the top and bring along her entire team too. Jin Ah wouldn’t have been able to do the same imo.
The ex-bf - Ze Lin character was def better than the ex in SITR. Ze Lin had realistic faults while the latter felt like a caricature of the standard slimy pathetic ex boyfriend.
Worse:
Sorry but no one else can pull off the younger suitor better than Jung Hae In in SITR. His acting was far superior than Lai Karan Lin. JHI was able to pull off loving nurturing bf while also managing the emotions of the pissed off fed up bf. Besides JHI’s smiles left this noona’s pulse racing heart in a puddle of her own drool. ?
No real strong conflict - the leads in this Cdrama were able to overcome their difficulties just too easily imo. SITR tackled more serious office difficulties like sexual harassment, male chauvinism, and the boys club atmosphere that’s rife in many office environments (and even more so in Asian workplace environments).

Finding love without labels
Really enjoyed this short. It def brought of interesting taboo topics not easily discussed in asian countries. Was this BL since the FL was originally a boy when she was younger? Or would she be considered transgendered since she now identifies as a girl. For me I kinda viewed this as almost neither as she says she’s both Hae Yoon and Hae Won. As kids they were super close, possibly more than best friends since they both missed each other so badly. Since they were kids why probably didn’t know about let alone understand their feelings. Now that they’re older, they still want to be with each other and still accept the change. To me it felt like they didn’t care about traditional labels and just fell in love with each other’s personalities.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Interesting Short that falls short
Interesting short just wished it had a happier ending instead of this tragic loop. However, since it's a short it really didn't have time to delve into outwitting fate. Though it’s subtle, the writer/director did drop hints of the weird relationship between Do Woo and his employee but I didn't expect it to have such a fantastical element to the story and it felt a little out of left field.I kept thinking Mi Rae was in some sort of accident that left her without the memories of the Do Woo.
As an aside Lee Se Young really doesn't look good with blond hair.

Needed more romance
This drama was def a lot better than I expected it to be. Lots of comedy, action, bromance and even heart wrenching moments. Just wished they added more romance storyline between the main couple. It was obvious that the writers wanted to head there but for some reason held back on that storyline. So Ji Sub’s interactions with the kids were chef’s ?. The neighborhood ajumma “spy” network was absolutely hilarious and so on point. The bromance between Kim Bum and Yong Tae was def unexpected. Wished there is was a S2.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
