Messy but fun
It's messy, it's slightly problematic at times, but it can also be very, very fun. It's a guilty pleasure for me; the show is so campy that I don't know if I should laugh or take the show seriously. Kidnapped dogs? A over-the-top millionaire father? A Kris Aquino impersonator? A cake baking competition where the intern represents a supposedly multimillion company? NOTHING MAKES SENSE! But also, it does--it's just campy fun. The chemistry of leads also takes this show to a higher level; I hope they get a better BL show soon.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
A good show
This is a good show. The first episode is a bit jarring but apparently that's by design, as the show is more than just a love story between two young men; it's also the story of how to fall in love during the pandemic, when face-to-face communication is a privilege and physical intimacy is a task and a risk. The story and the acting can be a bit cheesy at times, but it works. I like how it also makes the effort to be responsible and politically correct, making sure to emphasize that anything that happens physically between the two characters needs to have consent, etc. A must watch.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Just okay
Not bad, it's just okay. The show starts slowly, with the first three episodes basically threading the same conflct and narrative thread without showing and telling us anything new about the characters; it could have been condensed to one episode, to be honest. The romance aspect of the show literally comes out of nowhere. Besides the fact that this is a gay romance, there's no reason given in the show why the two main characters should fall in love with each other, besides the fact that they live in the same apartment. It puts the work of building the internal romantic narrative arc of the characters on the shoulder of the viewers, who project what they want to see onscreen because the characters and the story are so empty it can literally be anything. The story is so thin that this is the only way the show could make sense. The part where it makes rah-rah statements about homosexuality I don't mind--but given how the show doesn't have much of a story to begin with, it's a bit offputting. Still, the show is doing necessary work in terms of educating the audience about LGBTQ+ issues, and that should be applauded. The acting is alright; Ian's privileged English-speaking character is a bit one-note, but he's charming enough to make it work. Paolo, though--this is his first work as an actor, and it shows. Their acting isn't incredibly jarring and it improves in the latter episodes... but it isn't the best. The music's okay. Gotta thank that Globe Telecom money for the one redeeming quality of the show.
What's really bad about the show is its direction and editing. It improves in the latter episodes but MAN, those are more horrible than the show's writing. Hope season 2 improves.

Could have been so much better
The show isn't bad. The first episode holds soooo much promise. I understand it's a BL some hardcord fans may not like, which is the reason why the first few episodes are great. It seems to hint that the main love story is between a cis-straight man and an openly gay man, a relationship that's common in the Philippines. Had it ended up tackling that instead of what it tackles, the show could have been so much better. The actors are fine; Kyo and Royce are good actors (Royce is the better one between the two, though the script doesn't ask a lot from him), and there are points where you can feel the chemistry between the two of them. I'm surprised how much I liked the first five or so episodes given how we mostly just see the main characters and no one else., but it gets boring after a while. Still, good effort, still worthy of a watch.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Not bad, but a bit strange
This feels like a gay romance that was made 15 years ago. Are we really seriously doing the sad dead gays trope in the 2020? I understand that the message here is that "homophobia kills," but you can do that without all the non-sense that happens in this show. The whole "I see dead people" thing with Sandee is also very jarring. It feels like the "Sandee Show" more than anything else. If anything, the leads are likable after the first couple of episodes (the progression of their romance is a bit off though, but whatever). A big BIG miss.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
It's fine
It's a typical ABS-CBN production. Fluffly love story, Good-looking cast. A bunch of cast characters whose importance in the story is questionable. Nonetheless, it's a fun show with some good moments. Story's a bit simple, so your enjoyment of the show really rests on how much you will like JC and Troy as the show's main romantic leads. JC isn't the best actor in the show, but he improves later on and even becomes charming and interesting enough. The latter parts of the show is a bit too melodramatic for my taste, though.Considerați utilă această recenzie?
