One the best dramas.. PERIOD
I didn’t watch part 2 for a long time because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. But it’s been exactly 1 year since the first airing so it seemed like the best day to start & finish part 2. It deservedly won awards and acclaim, because there’s nothing bad to say about it. Acting - best of the best from EVERYONE, story - I was in tears most of the time, cinematography - wonderful, especially the last episode, action - interesting & powerful.Maybe the only thing that was missing was seeing the leads live a happy life together, get (officially) married and have kids. Janghyun was the greenest flag to exist, kind and empathetic, a true hero. Gilchae was such a complicated & layered character that really grew to be mature and loveable. Her kindness, grit and will to survive was amazing, one the best female leads in drama history.
I’m so happy it gave us a happy ending, unlike many dramas in this genre. THEY DESERVE TO HAPPY 😭

Realistic and diverse stories
One thing I really loved about this drama is how positive, welcoming and loving all the families are. You don’t need to explain “why” they are so encouraging, because healthy family support is normal. It doesn’t mean the characters aren’t written well, but its written realistically. From Jieun’s dad letting her be independent but always checking on her, to Seonho’s parents being supportive in their own way and always encouraging her, to Joseph’s mom being his biggest fan and always involved in helping him. There are queer stories too. One being basically soulmates but one side’s family not being supportive. Whereas Joseph has always been seen and loved for who he is by his family and friends.
I’m not that into fashion but the dialogues really hit me when they were taking about their passion for their jobs and why they think its important in society.
I like that not everyone is going through the same things. If one person is sad, the others may be really happy. It felt so real (lmao). I liked that the main leads didn’t have some crazy love story, but its so normal. They’re high school sweethearts, the best of friends, and they just never fell out of love after their breakup. I literally have friends like that lol.
Lastly, I have to say, the finale runway was just amazing. From the concept, to design, to the clothes and the models, I was blown away. I got goosebumps when Seonho walked in that finale dress.
So I’d definitely recommend this drama for laughs, cute romantic moments and warm friendships!

Underrated crime-detective mystery
I maybe saw one tweet about this show, but I found it randomly scrolling for a new show. This show will 100% infuriate you. I was pulling my hair out for entire episodes, I was screaming at the tv at times, but I’m glad I watched it. This show is so gripping and feels so real in its unfairness but also I can’t believe people could behave in such ways. The entire cast is golden and the mystery solving is paced really well. Highly recommend.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

I wish it didn’t crash, but it did :(
I was actually looking forward to the show seeing all the hype and the 1st episode delivered perfectly, I had tears in my eyes at the end but was salivating for more. And the next 3-5 episodes were very good, I didn’t mind the slow burn at all as it made a lottt of sense for the characters to build their relationship after the unfortunate betrayal and incidents. Even though the thief heists after the jewellery one was bleh, I took it as camp and ignored my brain trying to point out how stupid the plans were. (The only highlights were Joke’s disguises LOVED THEM ALL).But it truly started falling off the rails with the boss and the 4 horsemen playing weird games, gambling kidneys(?), having Joke act as a dog, the ring of random power etc. Tbh, I get the concept of portraying the ultra rich playing with the lives of those in poverty but the genre shift from the first few episodes to THIS felt very unnatural. The show got me back in its clutches with Joker’s breakdown (😭) but then it went completely BONKERS with the bomb collars. Still, they somehow scrapped this shit ending with it all being ANOTHER game to fool the boss.
So many characters don’t really go anywhere after the mid point, their stories weren’t written that well. Boss and the religious cult lady’s backstory had potential but we got 3 lines. Arun and Tattoo had so much cute 2nd couple potential but it was never developed properly.
But I did love our little family with Jack, Joke, Grannie and the little girl. Let’s hope for a better script next time YinWar!

Might even be better than Season 1
Tbh I enjoyed season 1 only after the detective duo started working together properly, so S1 just got better towards the end. I actually prefer watching Season 2 more as everyone’s dynamics have been clearly written and we can just move straight into solving crimes instead of introducing the main cast. Also I think the first 3 mysteries this season are my all time favourite from this series, especially the first one is so time & detail oriented, it’s written very well. The other mysteries are also so interesting! The last mystery is perhaps the least intriguing, but had a satisfying conclusion.Being more case solving this season is a detriment to further developing the main casts’ relationships. Frankly, none of their relationships actually go anywhere and not much happens. I hope they balance it out better in the next season (for which I’m very excited for!)

The mobster of our dreams!
I saw the growing hype around this show online so I went in with high expectations. The first episode is very unique in its style of comedy that might make you not want to continue BUT BARE WITH IT AND WATCH FOR ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS OF THE YEAR. You slowly get used to style of rom-com and it’s gets funnier and cuter with every minute. The shift from noir to cutesy is so well done, especially by Taegoo (male lead). He truly carries both sides of the show, but you can fully immerse in it due to Sunhwa’s (female lead) portrayal of her character. Yes, some supporting characters are trope-y but they are so lovable. There are MANY tropes in the story but it’s well done and doesn’t bore the viewers. Just get ready to squeal, twirl your hair and kick your feet watching this amazing drama!P.s I can’t believe this is Taegoo’s first ever rom-com role, he’s so brilliant in it. BOOK HIM MORE COMEDY ROLES!

Came for silver haired First, left with a warm story of friendship
I tuned in for First and Namtan but was pleasantly surprised by all the character’s storylines. It starts off really strong and all characters do get really good arcs and development. But the story does get draggy towards the end and I skipped scenes. Overall, it’s a fun watch (silver haired kpop wannabe Ryu aka First, you were the cringiest but funniest character I lovedddd it 🤣)Considerați utilă această recenzie?
The hype was deserved
I had seen this go viral everywhere but didn’t have time to watch it then (thank god because waiting a whole week for an epi wld have been so hard). The story is messy, as it’s intended. This is how many 20-somethings party, the toxicity doesn’t seem unbelievable. Though it seems like a superficial drama, there are many real character developments for everyone, and not all same.It was my first FirstKhao show and I GET IT. I GET WHY THEIR “IT”. They have the most sizzling but cutest chemistry, they were my endgame.

Worth every percent of HYPE
Just watch the first episode, I bet anyone and everyone will love it and want to watch more. It’s truly the most perfect pilot in recent years. (Silver haired SungMo I am on my knees for you) The show and story doesn’t disappoint, it gets better & better. Every shot feels thought out and crafted with love & dedication, hats off to the director and cinematographer! Nothing felt lacking, from the acting/cast, to story, philosophy, costumes, set, AND OH, THE DIALOGUES ARE SO BEAUTIFUL.My only teeny-tiny criticism is that they tried to make some villains have a “nice” ending but I could not care less. They were horrible people and deserved to die, let’s not add a layer of sympathy to them at the end.

Cute for what it is
I found this drama from edits online, which were just the cutest so I was excited to watch it. And it definitely delivered on the chemistry of the main leads. Of course the trope of high school classmates/first loves meeting again is over done, but they made it fun to watch. Even their fake/contract relationship came about okay.Just from watching the show you can see they didn’t have a big budget, but that shouldn’t hinder from writing a good story. It felt like all the scenes was just to move the plot forward without much substance. It felt choppy and rushed. Even them suddenly getting married without ever really dating and didn’t even properly date AFTER they got married felt so weird. The actors definitely had the chemistry to make some magic from a badly paced script. The ending does make me forget the bad parts, that kid actor was so so loveable! + love the greenest flag but naughty scheming ML.
Hope we get to see the main leads in a better written drama in the future.

The haters are crying hehe!
I like how it had lots of representation as well as diverse gay men (some stereotypical and non-stereotypical portrayals). The story was really well paced, I was surprised by good character growth in just 2 episodes, and the cinematography + lighting was just MAGICAL. All the actors did so well, I was fully immersed in every scene. Even the balance between comedy, happiness, cutesy and sadness was so good. Everyone should give this a chance.Considerați utilă această recenzie?

Morality vs Love
Came here for the plot and philosophy of euthanasia and got a nice dose of complicated romance. It was doomed yaoi from the start but I HAD HOPE! It was 0.5% but it was something! Tew’s inherent nature to doubt people and also his implied demisexuality slowed the pace of romance, but it came together for a big bang (figuratively and physically lmao) of their bittersweet ending. Kan was the centre of the show, he really pulls you in and I wasn’t bored for a second.I think the story does a well balanced depiction of euthanasia and has characters for and against it. My only drawback would be exploring a case of a patient not being fully cognisant of authorising consent (it was almost there but not exactly what I’m talking about). It also showed how doctors/nurses can misuse/wrongly perform euthanasia without giving patients consent, dignity or peace :( but also had a fair share of lovely but sad cases where euthanasia was a god-sent for the critically ill. The last euthanising scene of Tew’s mom had me tearing up, just packed with emotions and GOD that last scene broke me. What a finale!

KDRAMA OF THE YEAR!
I think everyone should watch this, like just put it on and you’ll be hooked from the first 10 mins. And ITS WORTH YOUR TIME! I didn’t know anything about the show except it was a Kang Full story, so I was so surprised to find the 1st epi being horror! And it was so well done, not in a jumpscare way but in an eerie-creepy way. The set design has a purpose, the camera shots have purpose, the shadows have purpose, EVERYTHING is so detailed and meaningful. If the first half is horror, the second half is dramatic and romantic. Everything you thought was scary, is actually the most sweetest and purest thing. To accomplish that shift for every character is just great writing and acting. You will cry for the last 2 episodes. It’s so bittersweet but beautiful. The final shot is ART (and an arrow to my chest like whyyyyy is it so sad?)Every character gets a full arc story with no loose ends (kinda - hopeful for more seasons). Almost all stories made me tear up at one point, but especially the rescue dog with the branch through it broke my heart, the bus driver drowning in his tears, the mom saving her daughter the way she was saved by her father (the cotton ball had me holding my chest) and ofc, Hyunmin & Jiyoung’s story was the saddest, I was sobbing and distraught.
Random but in the beginning I thought: hmm the set design for this lane/neighbourhood is so weird, it feels like a “set” with bad cgi rain clouds, it doesn’t seem realistic and BOOM there was a reason for that and now looking back I LOVE THE SET DESIGN AND CGI.
