I've only watched a few jdramas/movies so I'm still not really used to them. For me, they are a lot different than Korean or Taiwanese dramas (which I've seen a lot of each), so it's hard for me to get into them. Tatta Hitotsu no Koi really had me from the first episode. I liked the story of rich girl, poor guy rather than vice versa. To me, it always seems more heartbreaking bc the poor guy will almost always walk away from the girl he loves so they can be with someone better or more suited for them. But even doing so, never stops loving them. Now who doesn't want a guy like that?!?! Anyway, I thought the love story between Hiroto and Nao was really great. I've seen it described as pure and innocent and that's really the perfect way to describe it. There's not a lot of unnecessary drama like jealous ex's, scheming parents doing outrageously ridiculous or evil things to split them apart or the girl/guy hiding their feelings for a really long time. They came from different backgrounds but that didn't matter to them. They liked each other and wanted to be together, so they were. Hiroto was a little judgmental towards Nao until he actually dug deeper and realized he had her all wrong, but even then, he still fell for her. To me, Nao seemed really childish the first few episodes and that bothered me, but there is a reason for that and once it's explained you understand why her character is the way she is. Hiroto and Noa's friends were really great supporting characters as well and the friendship that forms between all of them is a strong one.
Overall, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi is very good. Cast, story, music, etc. all good. It's fast and to the point, which is also a plus. It has definitely changed my mind about jdramas and I'm giving more a chance.
