Maybe She Will Defrost on a Warm Day!

This is my first review!

Watching Because Of Love was like going through a real-life experience in a short period of time.
I've watched many K/C/J/T dramas but none of these dramas affected me as much as Because of Love.
What was it about?

A young couple very much in love was forced to break up because the male lead's father wanted his son to be ready to take his place as CEO.

Because of this, the romance was severely stopped and from that point on the female lead had extreme anger against both the male lead and his father. This anger lasted almost until the end of the drama. To make the situation worse, the young couple got pregnant and a son was born, unbeknownst to the young man.

A lot of anger, revenge, sexual frustration, the feeling of unrequited love, and most importantly the lack of forgiveness on the part of the female lead was carried throughout the drama.

Both of the main leads suffered tremendously for seven years until finally the last episode #30, almost everything got solved and peace was made.

About the actors:
I feel that Wallace Chung essentially made this drama successful. I think his father did an excellent job on his part also. Of course, the child was adorable. I do have my doubts about the female lead - perhaps too stoic, too unforgiving, too uncommunicative. I felt that she didn't add too much to the drama and instead she subtracted from it. Her stoic facial expressions rarely changed throughout the drama.

Others had their own side stories with excellent acting on each of their parts.

As far as the story goes, it was excellent halfway but drowned on the beach toward the end. Ok, they were husband and wife at the end but no visual satisfaction for the viewer. Almost until the end, she had the same stoic face and he was still dependent on her love to make him happy. Good luck to him. Maybe she will defrost on a warm day!

I give this an 8 mainly because of Wallace Chung's excellent acting. One deeply felt his pain, his joy, and his sorrow.

Hey! What's Wrong With The Weather?

Being an enthusiastic supporter of both the two main leads: Song Kang and Park Min Young, I was very disappointed in Forecasting Weather and Love and in the lack of show exposure they each had.

Having watched Song Kang in Nevertheless, Navillera, and other dramas, I was not happy with the amount of plot time he was given. There are a few scenes of him here and there, but no comparison to the extensive performance he did in Navillera for example.

Min Young's acting ability and plot time in Weather paled in comparison with Min Young's roles in Her Private Life, When the Weather is Fine, and What's Wrong with Secretary Kim.

Worse yet, so much time was spent on the side couples and not on the main couple itself. Also, an inordinate amount of time was spent on the technological aspects of the weather itself, even going into the minutest details.

I was very disappointed in this drama, having to wait anxiously to watch it, only to feel that it was not a hit but a miss.

Hopefully, recent 2022 K-dramas being shown on Netflix will have a higher probability of success.

It Should Have! It Could Have! It Would Have... But!

This could have been a great non-tropey successful drama. However, the direction the writer took adversely affected the whole drama’s hit capability.

The Story:
The writer ruined a perfectly good story. It started interestingly well, with the two protagonists starting to fall in love while battling over who gets more sales. The female lead worked for one company and the male lead for the competing company.

They went to war with each other, meanwhile, they had sizzling romantic encounters. In the meantime, there were constant backstabbing, lies, and fierce competition between these two companies.

However, most of the drama was taken over by the business end of things, which was very hard to follow since it was written in a very choppy way. Lack of continuity, some scenes jumping from one to another without a meaningful transition.

Unless you like minutia business details dealing with technology, I would stay away from this drama.

The Acting/Cast:
The acting was fantastic by all the cast members.

Male lead Chen Kun was excellent in his role as Zhou Rui. His rugged handsomeness, his facial expressions, his voice, all in all, quite a package.
Female lead Xin Zhi Lei was equally as good. Her role as a beautiful but aggressive, highly competitive, vengeful type was almost too much to watch.

The Music:
The OST was wonderful. You can find the selections on YouTube.

Re-watch:
I, personally, would re-watch the last 3 episodes, 38-40 since those are the best.

All in all, I wish the writer could read the MDL’s reviews and the comments made. As a side remark, there were very few timed comments while I watched it on Viki.com. Was anyone watching?

Thank you for reading my review.

Mostly excellent but Disappointing Ending

Would I recommend watching this 40-episode series?

From Ep 1-36, the series was wonderful in every way.
1. Watching the search and rescue team's growth was rewarding.
2, Watching the developing romances between the main couple and the other two couples was fun.
3. The one OST that was haunting throughout the entire series
4. The script was excellent - fully developed and consistent.
5. There was enough drama to make me want to eagerly watch the next episode
6. Excellent acting job by Yun Xi.

Until:
From Ep 37-40, it was like they found new writers.
The series literally fell apart, especially episodes 39 and 40.
What happened?

Most of the time was spent on the rescue team in the most detailed and painfully extended way possible.
Ep 39 and 40 needed better writing and much better editing.
It was like they left the camera on filming the rescuers walking up and down a snow-covered mountain trying to save the male and female leads with no editing - just letting the camera run.

The ending gave little or no resolution to the romance between the main couple.
It was as if the original writers lost their minds and the poor actors had to go along with the script.

So there it is!

The Scarlett Letter Comes to Mind

My review is simple - I hope it helps you decide whether to watch this drama or not:

What I liked about this series:

-The music - it beautifully matched the individual scenes
-The pastoral scenes where the main couple met on occasion to escape from reality
-The art - I wish I could find some of those beautiful art pieces
-The final resolution for each one of the transgressors
-The chemistry between one of the women leads and the artist
-The chemistry between the two little caged parrots and their significance to the drama
-The still shots of the making of the series at the end of episode 16.

What I didn't like about this series:

-Which century is the series living in? The Scarlett Letter comes to mind. Massive punishment for the transgressors makes sense if this were the 15th century or earlier
-Melodramatic acting (over exaggerated) on the part of some of the actors
-The constant repeatings of previous scenes to the point where I didn't know if were watching the present or not
-The final episode which was clearly rushed and fill-in. Writer could have spent more time on the main couple in their final scene. A brief smile between the 2 leads is not enough
_The annoying repeating apologies "I'm so sorry" and the constant apologetic kneelings on the part of the transgressors

Would I have watched this If I knew how bad certain aspects of this drama were? No.

Why did I watch it?
I liked the male lead after watching him in Eve. A very pleasing actor. I hope he has more films to watch.

And finally, thank you for reading this!

All He Had To Say Was: "I Love You"

A very well-acted, well-written series with an ending that I didn’t like but I can justify it in my own mind.

This is the story of two couples who are mismatched for all practical purposes.

The first couple: Michi and Yoichi:
Michi is a sweet, over-apologizing, over-bowing married woman to Yoichi, an unloving, sloppy, mess of a man who won’t have sex with her or give her any attention. He works in a coffee shop in where he even had sex with a co-worker.

Michi always loved her husband. Her husband didn’t return the love she wanted so she found that love elsewhere.

Enter Makoto, her boss, – a sweet, loving handsome alternative that gave her the love and attention she desperately needed.

At first, she seemed like she was really interested in Makoto – Even getting a divorce. But as time went on, she enjoyed her independence, and her ambition to get a better job and as that happened, she turned away from Makoto, hurting him deeply.

I, like many other viewers, felt horribly disappointed.

However, putting my rational hat on and leaving my emotional hat aside, I finally understood why Michi made her final choice.
She always loved her husband. Makoto was just a loving substitute. And at the end, Yoichi finally told her he loved her, and they went on with an apparently improved relationship. She had a new job, and he was going to start his own coffee shop.

The Second couple: Makoto and Kaede

Another unhappy couple – Kaede is a workaholic to the destruction of her marriage and hurt her ever-loving husband. Then he meets Michi and falls deeply in love with her and Makoto and Kaede get a divorce too.

Makoto is a wonderful husband: he cooks and takes care of the house, but because she is always working, she is rarely home or just plain tired. They too had a sexless marriage. So, he found someone who works for him with the same problems, and they share their problems verbally and almost had an affair.

Most of us would want Michi and Makoto, now that they are divorced from their partners, to finally find happiness with each other.

However, the bottom line here is that Michi STILL loves her husband and returns to him in the end – leaving Makoto alone.

I want to mention the OST in this series – it is perfect for this series. Here is the link to one of the songs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-oL-dl-vFs

Even If You Don’t Do It series was expertly well-acted, well-scripted, and well-directed. However, I didn’t like the ending, but I understand it and it makes sense to me because she loved the loser and that is what we must remember. All he had to say was, “I love you” and that is all she wanted.

Would I rewatch it? Absolutely not. However, I would listen to the OST repeatedly!

One of the best C dramas that I've watched

This is truly a gem of a drama.
There are few or none of the usual tropes.
I urge you to watch this precious series.
The ML's (Li Xian) job is to take care of the dead before they are buried
The FL (Zhou Li Tong) got into an accident in her high school years and lost part of her leg and because of that, she wants to be a top sales person.
However, both these somewhat negative issues makes the couple meld together in the most lovable way and passionate way.

The best parts:

1) love between the ML and FL is outstanding, passionate and rewarding- any parting between them is just temporary
2) acting is very natural - no unusual sobbing, crying, FL's family sticks together well in spite of some turmoil.
3) ML is perfect for the part - handsome in a manly way (no usual cutesy here)
4) believable script
5) no tired tropes

One prevailing issue:
The ML and FL live far apart - that is a struggle between them until it gets solved.

This is a rewatch for me - definitely.

I would compare its watchability to Hidden Love, Fireworks of my Heart, Amidst a Storm of Love and Road Home all Chinese dramas!

And they cried, and they cried and they cried some more.

So I just finished it.
I watched this because of Kim Soo Hyun from It's Ok Not to Be OK, Kim Ji Won in My Liberation Notes and Park sung Hoon Into The Ring. All fantastic actors in these three excellent series.

I don't know what to say about Queen of Tears.

It was tearfully sentimental, lots and lots of flashbacks, the acting was so-so and the music was depressing.
Lots of "white truck" instances, and I think the main actors lost their acting charm toward the end.
It must have been so tiresome to do that acting - not because it was good but because it was all over the place.

The best actor of the Tears was the 2ML - he held his evil all together - was consistently evil and his facial expressions reflected that evil the more evil he got.

What the ML found attractive about the FL, I have no idea.
She was disrespectful toward him long after she woke up from her cancer cure - although the 2ML made sure that the ML went to prison and so was out of the way when she woke up. It took a miracle from the part of the ML to wake her up to reality.

Mostly throughout, FL was drippy and certainly not lovable.

The writer did all it could to try to make the viewers cry - and I'm sure it worked for most of the viewers.
The OST was even more miserable - especially toward the end. Also there were many holes in the story.

Ok, I can now check that off and NEVER WATCHED IT AGAIN.!!!!

I guess an 8.0/10 is my grade.

Thanks for reading this.

Excellent actors but did the script have two different set of writers?

I anticipated Marry My Husband with great interest.

But how could a series begin with such a perfect story and be such a disappointment with ep 12-16?

It was like the script had two different writers.

I would score it 8.0 (9.0 for ep 1-11, and 7.0 for ep 12-16).

The ending was just so - everyone got their just dues - bad people either died or went crazy; good people prospered.

What did I like about it? It was just entertaining.
It was a great start but a meh finish.
All the boxes were checked and re-checked.

However the acting was excellent- ML and FL, top-notch. SML and SFL were believable and fun to watch.
Is this a rewatch? Not for me.

I believe that the actors worked hard to make this series a success.
The problem was with the writers- no fault to the wonderful actors.

I'm looking forward to seeing them in future series.

How Two Good Friends Differ in Their Approach to Achieving Orgasm

Hit the Spot is a fantastic series about female sexuality.
It is blunt, intelligently written, perfectly acted, and quite sexually explicit.

For those who find it uncomfortable to watch open sex, I would not recommend it but for those who are not, there are a lot of important lessons to be learned, for both sexes.

The story is about two close female friends, Hee Jae and Mi Na, and how they approach their quest for sexual satisfaction.

Hee Jae has been in a 5-year relationship with someone who she feels satisfies only himself sexually.
She has not experienced orgasm.

At the recommendation of her friend Mi Na, Hee Jae tries a variety of sexual toys to sexually satisfy herself. The toys work but she wants to experience orgasm with a man.

She goes on a hot pursuit to find a man, Kang In Chan.

Mi Na, on the other hand, makes it clear to her sexual partners that she is not interested in a relationship but only for sexual satisfaction.

Hee Jae repeatedly pressures co-worker In Chan to have sex – “When?” “Where?” “How soon?” “How often” she asks him.

Unlike her friend Mi Na, she never makes it crystal clear why she is pursuing him. She finally gets her reward and baths in her newly found orgasms with In Chan.

In Chan tells Mi Na that he loves her – with that, she drops him like a hot potato.

In my opinion, there is no question that Hee Jae has used In Chan repeatedly for her satisfaction –

He has now become her TOY BOY.

Mi Na, on the other hand, finds the right person Cha Woo Jae, and expresses her love for him, finding both sexual satisfaction and a good loving partnership.

Mi Na expresses her desires above board while Hee Jae hides her reason and takes advantage of In Chan.

Note: there are no interrupting phone calls or people bursting in the door! Enjoy every minute of this wonderful series!

Don't Miss This one!

Watch it! You won't regret it. I watched it on IQ.com.
I just finished it. I really liked it.
I had not seen Leo Luo before and I thought he made the drama! His expressions, his eyes, his emotions, his feelings sprung out into the screen. Many times, I felt I was there. In the series, he never gave up on the FL, consistent to the end. Their love from childhood to adulthood was adorable, at least most of the time. Is it a rewatch? Yes.
The couple were close childhood friends until something happened and they were separated. The FL wanted to work for this company which she felt had mistreated her father. The ML discouraged her to work for the company and finally she did and that is when the most exciting part of the drama begins.
The SL, Reily, was adorable as usual. the SF, could have been toned down. She was over the top in trying to land SL and got to be really annoying.
Were there evil ones in the series? Yes, a very fine actor, Kido Gao did his role in an unbelievable way, never giving up his psycho behavior.
The end is a bit soapy - that could have been cut out.

Perfect and Casual is just Perfect!

This drama is about a professor and student falling love and growing up and maturing throughout the episodes.

I would recommend this drama:
1) the LF and LM are genuinly perfect for each other
2) the LF is committed to what she wants but is not overbearing nor weak
3) the LM is so credible and thoughtful, and I'll be watching more dramas with him as a LM from now on.
4) there are no sinister people, no mother-in-law push to get married
5) this is a Perfect and Casual gem.
6) AND the best is that there are very few tropes in this series.

Unfortunately I watched it on YouTube with ads and in some places lack of sound. However dispite of all of that, it was worth every minute from beginning to the end.
