Hi Everybody! My Name is Patricia  :-)

Since I can remember I was always interested in other Countries and Cultures. The World is big, beautiful and diverse. Movies and Dramas are always a great way (besides travelling) to discover something new. For me it doesn´t matter if the genre is about drama, comedy, history, thriller, horror or just documentary.

As a child I liked to watch classical telenovelas from Latin America (like "Marimar",  "Salomé " and "Muñeca Brava"). Later I became interested in Scandinavian Movies. This Movies often have a small budget but great stories. You don´t need blockbusters from Hollywood :-) The Danish movie "Adam's Apples" is still one of my favorite movies.

Right now I only watch Movies, TV shows and Dramas from China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and most of all from South Korea.

"Bin-Jip / 3-Iron", "The Chaser", "A Bittersweet Life", and "A Man from Nowhere" were the first South Korean movies that were mind blowing and gave me goosebumps! The visual realization, the creativity, the acting performance, the emotions, the psychological depth, all of this was and still is overwhelming. “Departures” from Japan filled my eyes with tears like I couldn’t imagine before. And I’m thankful for that.

As for JDorama „Beautiful Life is still the most memorable one for me. Very refreshing, not this typical love story you see 100 times. It was so simple and realistic. It had great acting, perfect chemistry and was so heartwarming.

Although I haven't seen so many Lakorns from Thailand yet (but I´m working on it) I highly recommend “Full House”. It is much better than the original from South Korea. "Hua Jai Sila" and "Cheewit Puer Kah Huajai Puer Tur" are also awesome Lakorns with great actors and a good story.

Apart from Jean Reno and Keanu Reeves (my Crush since I was 13 years old), I have no favorite actors/actress from America or Europe.

On the other side, there are so many wonderful actors and actresses like: Lee Byung-hun, Choi Min-sik, Won Bin, Kim Soo-hyun, Jung Woo-sung, Lee Min-ki, Jung So-min, Moon Chae-won, Son Ye-jin, Gong Hyo-jin, Ha Ji-won, Lee Joon Gi, Lee Jong-suk, Feng Shaofeng, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Aaron Yan, Takuya Kimura, Thanapob Leeluttanakajorn, Sushar Manaying etc. The list is getting longer and longer, I know....

By the way, is there any guy more handsome than So Ji Sub?  I don´t think so… maybe Keanu Reeves….well I take them both…lol… :-)

2012 I saw my first Korean Drama. "Cheer up Mr. Kim" This Drama, well more a Comedy, was not a masterpiece and I have seen much better Dramas afterwards. But Mr. Kim helped me to understand the Korean culture, especially living in a Korean family more.  I also highly recommend “My Father is Strange.”

Although the Asian culture / the Way of life is different than it is in Germany (where I live) or Poland (where I have family), I felt immediately connected, when I started Dramas and Movies, especially from South Korea. But there is still much to discover. It never gets boring!

I'm also interested in art, culture and music. Music from South Korea, China and Thailand has a huge impact on me. I can listen to it the whole day. The great thing is that Dramas often come with great Songs. The Soundtrack of "Scarlet Heart Ryeo" is one of the best. Even though, I´m not into “Goblin” the music is just perfect, too. Through Soundtracks I always discover new Artists.

The same applies to Literature. The use of books, poetry and metaphors in Dramas is amazing. That´s why “This is my First Life” is one of my favorite Drama. By the way: terrific music!

What else can I write about me?
I studied German literature, history and philosophy and now I´m studying psychology. As already mentioned, I am very interested in literature and art, but also in languages and different countries.
I speak German, Polish and English. Also, I try to reactivate my French (which I learned at school). For a while I tried to learn Vietnamese. But I wasn´t able to pronounce the tones correctly. It was so hopeless and frustrating. Shame on me!

Now I am learning Korean and Chinese. I don´t think that’s its easier, but when you watch so many movies and dramas you want to skip all the subtitles which are never 100% correct. I really want to learn a tonal language. That is my goal.

 화이팅!

I am a very analytical person who likes to explore the human mind.
I laugh a lot and I´m optimistic even when it´s getting hard. Sometimes I am sarcastic and ironic. Sometimes I am very critical. I do not like spontaneity. I can be very stubborn, especially if I'm right or I think I´m right :-) . But most of the time I like not taking myself too serious.
I love nature but I also love spending the whole day in libraries by myself. I like everything that is green.  Ireland has the most beautiful places I have seen so far. Tory Island is a real gem.

I don´t think that you need much in life to be happy. You should always be friendly, tolerant and open-minded. Stay positive!

保持微笑

“Meeting someone in life is something that’s actually astonishing. That’s because he brings himself with his past, present, and his future. That’s because someone’s whole life comes along. The heart is fragile. Therefore, it might have been broken. The heart is coming, too… – Jeong Hyeonjong (2009)”

“Words are born from people’s mouth and die in their ears. But some words never die. Instead, they go into people’s hearts and survive.”- Because this is my first Life

“Do not take life too seriously”. You will never get out of it alive. – Elbert Hubbard

“Don't worry, even if you fall over! It's all right. You can just pick yourself up again!
When you fall over, make the most of the chance to look up and see the sky.
You will see the blue sky spreading endlessly above you and smiling down.
I am alive!”
