BLIND: ONLY WHEN YOU TURN A "BLIND" EYE TO THE ABSOLUTELY OBVIOUS

"blind: when the young have to teach the adults what's wrong and what's right"

*PERSONAL OPINION*

Ryu Sung Joon said, "if the children of the Hope Welfare Centre had an adult like Eun Ki would they have ended up like they had?"

this got me thinking, how true this was, how children are easily affected because of their surroundings and what kind of adults they ultimately become. the drama deals with some the very common but vital issues of all times-child abuse in particular, and abuse of authority, rape and providing sexual favors in general. it highlights what it takes to become a true adult and how many fail to become one, in face of power, money, pleasure, protection and lies among many.

*PLOT & CHARACTERS*

with its many twists and turns and snaps and sides, it was a roller coaster ride. i was so sure that Ryu Sung Hoon wasn't involved at all, but boom the next thing you know he's the brain. Eun Ki was the best and all that anyone would expect a "decent" and good human would be. Sung Joon was the emotional container of the show. he was brilliant when it came to his duties and responsibilities but he as much a soft baby. i felt him whenever he realized he was being betrayed by the person he trusted the most. there weren't much plotholes to be honest, except the fact that the serial murders were taken so lightly by the authorities and everyone else. it felt like it was Sung Joon sole responsibility to solve the mystery and punish himself for nothing.
getting back at Sung Hoon, he was just a poor person: he lost his family not once but twice to the "adults", to his plan, and to the society; he lost his childhood to absue and the never ending saga to save himself and his friends; he lost his youth to planning the revenge; and he lost everything else to the outcomes of his actions. Sung Joon was right when he said that Sung Hoon was "cowardly and evil". He was evil because he knew what he did was wrong yet he wanted to leave out on his share of pain that he had yet to endure and yeild.
Eun Ki was the angel. And she is what i wish to become, " a decent adult" as Yu Na says. I wonder how someone would take the fact that they were born out of rape; but she took it very fair enough as the strong woman she is.

PS. I wish those who were responsible for the incident at the Hope Welfare Centre, rot in hell. Amen.

*THE ACTORS*
All of them were chef's kiss, starting from Tace Yeon, Eun Ji, Seok Jin to the always-frowning-with slit-eyes police officer. I watched this drama, of course because of the genres, but also because this has my all time favorites as the leads. Bless my heart, when i was hoping for a romance angle of Eun Ji with both Seok Jin and Tace Yeon (TT), all the chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics and the tension they had was so on point.

Blind is a fantabulous must watch, be it be confusing, haunting, thriller or anything else (afterall it's meant to be). The music was so good that i kept on rewinding and replaying just to listen to the bgm.

PS. This is my first review, so i dont know it well it goes. Thank you.

"All that glitters is not gold"- a subtle difference between season 1 and 2.

Well yes season 1 is untouchable, but season 2 has a charm of its own. While season 1 set the base, was kind of episodic with the counters defecting and summoning every different kinds of spirits, meanwhile unfolding their respective back stories and expanding their powers, Season 2 on the other hand served as a sub plot to the first season, exploring different aspects and powers of the counters and the evil similar and serving visuals at its best.
Comparing:
Season 1 had one of the most outstanding, brilliant and a strong plot, and Season 2 wasn't much behind it. In Season 1 while the evil spirits desires were based on *childhood/youth traumas*, in Season 2 the engulfing evil spirits fed solely of *pure greed and rage*, both leading to wanting of revenge. Season 1 showed how trauma and misbehaviour had a strong psychological effect on everyone and can lead them to darkness. Season 2 on the other hand, showcased how even the 'good' can be driven towards the same darkness or even more powerful through wounds, lies and manipulation. (This reminds me of what i once came across. It said something along the line that if bad turns evil it can be made right, but when a wronged good turns evil, it disastrous.) Season 2 literary balanced out the sympath the viewers felt towards Ji Cheong Sin in season 1.

Meanwhile the counters in season 2 experinced what they hadnt in the previous season. So Mun learned that he doesn't have to protect only the good people but he also has a responsibility to turn the evil into good. And along with him learned his teammates. They learnt that their opinions may clash but they need to stick together to fight their way. Season 2 showed not that So Mun is the only Uncanny Counter there, but every other member was uncanny in their way. All 6 of them realised that they were capable enough to protect themselves and the others; So Mun sure was the most powerful, but the others were powerful enough to protect each other and even the former. While Season 1 showcased how the counters bonded with each other through their adventures and how the related/empathised with each others' past, Season 2 depicted how the same counters learnt no matter what how they would stick together, protecting, respecting, understanding and loving each other as a family (friends) and finally learnt to let go of the past and move forward.

Despite the dissimilarities, Season 2 in no way inferior to the previous season. This season unfolded its plot in the best way it could and served just right: the increased power of the counters, the fight against the absolute evil, the familial bond between the teammates, the Iconic Visuals and cinematography they served, Ha Na and So Mun's increased physical intimacy (delulu is the new solulu), So Mun's determination and belief in the good among evil, and the banter and support the counters shared. No debate, but the comedy of this series was carried by Na Jong Beok and his interactions with others. (TT) Damn Jang Mul and Ms. Chu gave me serious sugar daddy and sugar mommy issues!!!! And fuck every shit, good or bad, all through the 6 weeks of 12 episodes, i was about nothing but So Mun and Ha Na!!!!!!!!! *(the number of times i rewinded and rewatched their scenes, the number of edits i watched and went through different comment sections was so honestly... so~ unhealthy)* Ga Mo Tak in this season was a little (a very very tiny bit) irritating, and it was because he felt inferior to the others. Mo Tak is one of the best and adorable ajusshi out there but he induldged in self pity (though maybe just once). However, all in all The Counters this time made the best team of the year until next time.

[After all the depictions i don't need to appricate the actors and their skills, or the OSTs, because come on, they are out of the world fan-freaking-tastic]

***Manifesting Season 3 as soon as possible (before i grow any more older) and manifesting (x100) a love line between So Mun and Ha Na as the freaking end game, pleasssssssseeeeee***

Ps. Another differnece between both the seasons is that the first one deals with corruption in the political sphere and the misuse of power and authority, while the second season deals with fraud and conning people and manipulation of public.

**this is what the title says it is**

it is funny dumb, ykwim right?

okay to be brutally honest, i started this drama because of Kim Min Gue (of course) and Go Bo Gyeol (i first thought it was Kim Tae Ri and i was so shocked. when i realised Go wasn't her but in fact she played the step-sister of Park So Dam in Cinderella and The Four Knights, i flipped!!!!!)

the start was so good- the comedy, the chemistry, the bickering and even the confusion. i enjoyed it until at one point i started fast forwarding everything (expect the comic scenes and the romance). somewhere it started feeling a little dumb, but so what we are here to escape reality after all. overall, it was a good watch but the ending was so rushed. what was best and unique about this was that this drama showed the chemistry between the leads' feet- the fact that in the end Rambrary would feel a sense of deja vu seeing Kim Dal's swinging on her feet was so cute. what i couldn't understand is why Kim Dal was ever ready to sacrifice herself for others. i understand her trauma but somewhere along the line she became a bit frustrating. Rambrary seemed like an idiot because he was easily swayed by everyone and anyone, a character who believes anything anyone says without better judgement; it wasn't until the very last episode where he realizes that he was played for a fool. he became more frustrating than the FL. at one point i even started shipping Kim Dal with Gam Jae (the grim reaper), and who didn't? i literally saw sparks flying between them (,,,^_^,,,). in fact Gam Jae was so *chef's kiss*. the way he was always shocked with Dal and her intelligence and even asked her to be a grim reaper was so good and so hilarious. i was disappointed because they didn't show the bonding of the band members with Rambrary when he revealed his identity. and what else when disclosed that the real Woo Yeon was in fact never existed and was an imposter, my brain just refused to accept it.

again, the ending was very very rushed. it would have been good had there been at least 2 more episodes. it would have been better if they had shown the Rambrary as himself and the band mates and their build up. what else i wish they have given a little more effort when they reunited the leads. i wanted a proper reunion not a one as rushed as this.

the drama is a light watch. 'give it a go to relive stress' kind of drama. dumb but funny and gives jitters a little here and there. personally. i think it isn't for a rewatch. so, for those wanted to rewatch, don't. because if you do you would be doing any one of the two: either (a)you will start being critical of everything in it or (b) you just skip to the parts that give you the laughs.

it's fun. it's to-the-point. and a little yawning in between: but a solid 9!!

i thoroughly enjoyed the whole series, so much so that i wont like to point whatever plotholes it has. what i loved the most about it is that it highlights how the human brains work and how we can control our brains with our will. the character of Shin Ha Ru was the best, relatable on an intellect level and very practical and that of Geum Myung Se was relatable on the emotional level- though Myung Se was an over empathetic human. i loved the co-ordination between the two characters, how they balanced each other out and how the story unfolded. the chemistry between the two actors was commendable.
THE CHARACTERS:
talking about Ha Ru, i really liked it how everything around him was chaotic yet so in order. he knew how to handle himself and (the brains of) others. he is best psychopath i have come across (,,,^_^,,,). Again the best about him was how practical he was. i know some may find him as a character who can exist only in fiction, but it wasn't the case for me. especially Shin Ha Ru's initial opinion on his memory loss (distortion) was something i always wanted other characters of other dramas with a memory loss track to have; and this opinion made the character a little real to me. he said "My brain has blocked the memories that are painful to me and there's a reason to that. why would i go against my brain when i know it would hurt me?" this dialogue had me. and another admirable fact was how Ha Ru didn't give in to any manipulation whatsoever. Jung Yong Hwa did real justice to the character of Shin Ha Ru.
[this Ha Ru is my next favorite Ha Ru after Number 13 Ha Ru from Extraordinary You]
next up is Geum Myung Se. i think no one would have played that role better that Cha Tae Hyun. since i couldn't relate much to this character i cant say much about it. all in all, Myung Se's existence was of real importance for Ha Ru- he made him realise the importance/ the feeling of having a friend. the love-hate relationship they shared was so good and so funny. however, Myung Se being overly empathetic was a little over the top.

THE CASES:
the cases involved were so unique in their own ways and they had my full focus. mystery, suspense and even the drama was evenly scattered throughout. even case was like a lesson to me (even though some may not be a real lesson). i found Ha Ru a lot cooler in the second half of the story compared to the first. However, the ending seemed to be rushed. scientific in every way, while not so in the last 2 episodes to be precise, i couldn't understand the real motive of the final antagonist- what the hell he wanted to prove with harmonizing the the brain waves of two totally polar opposite people, is beyond my range of comprehension.

THE OTHER ELEMENTS:
the actors did a great job. the comic timing was perfect. there were some boring parts, but whatever it has A HANDSOME HOT PSYCHOPATHIC NEUROSCIENTIST (ufffff) and even the music was good. to those who like such science fictions and hot scientists and comedy and can sit through even the yawning parts, then please watch it. it's worth it.

Criminally Underrated (providing an explanation for the ending)

it took everything in me not to give a 10 to this.
I will take this space first and foremost to appreciate: SUHO THE ACTOR, SUHO THE IDOL and KIM JUN MYEON THE PERSON. What terrific job did the man do portraying the role of Crown Prince. Kim made it so alive for me that henceforth whoever plays the role of Lee Gun in another historical fiction, I'll be comparing the role playing and characterisation to Suho's portrayal. I'm in love- I have been in love with Suho and in love with his very existence- with how he blew life into his character. I give a standing applause to his acting, improvised, so perfected that I bawled my eyes out in every scene Lee Gun shed tears in. and someone hold me, hold me because I'm smitten with this wise, brains with beauty His Royal Highness Crown Prince (this is what people call sexy brains i suppose) and I swear this is not good for my heart. Adding to this was whenever and wherever His Highness walked, walked with a crowd following behind him, was so so damn hot. Conversely, SUHO the singer, the angelic singer that he is. OST "Love You More Gradually" is so close to my heart right now that it is not healthy how many times i stream it within a day. the OST itself wriggles, wrenches and soothes your heart. I LOVED EVERY ASPECT OF THIS. (Suho's voice did to my ears and heart what spring does to cherries.) i sincerely hope and wish for Kim Jun Myeon to take up more projects and try his hand at various different characters (i vouch for witty characters personally)
Lee Gun's dialogues that made me feel woman: 1. "You are someone I Indulge in." 2. "Your lips taste like honey." (*screaming*)

Moving forward, I'll take the liberty to explain the ending that everyone has been so unsatisfied about (the last 20-25 minutes to be precise). The Crown Prince after ascending the throne DID NOT ABANDON the throne, nor his subjects or people/country. He REMAINS His Majesty The King of Joseon. After the execution of the traitors and the subduing the rebellion, His Majesty rules and gets rid of all old conventional traditions, laws and policies, making new ones in its place. and he adopts a very very unconventional method to get his ideas approved through his courtiers and i dare quote it (not from the drama): "If you are not listening to continuous wailing of pleas from courtiers who are selfish and greedy for power, without proper back up and evidences and reasons for the pleas to be answered, then you do not have to give your corrupted opinions." He changes certain apparently important laws and replaces then with new improvised ones and continues to rule (for quite a number to months) before deciding to take a break. He leaves to be with his lover whom he hadn't seen for months and thus calls in his brother as a SUBSTITUTE for his absence. Reading between the lines, it can be seen that His Majesty Lee Gun might have returned to the palace after spending some time with his beloved and then going back again to her from time to time. Let's keep in mind that Myeong Yoon is a very independent and self reliant woman and thus is someone who wouldn't be confined to the walls of the palace. she would rather work in a self-established clinic than become someone's queen. and so Lee Gun's family was outside the palace he resided in. it is important to take note that everyone in the last scene from Gap Seok and Moo Beak to Prince Do Sung (apparently the King) address Lee Gun as His Majesty. So Do Sung being a royal and Lee Gun's own half brother substituted him whenever Lee Gun went of the palace to spend some time with his family. So the fact remains that Lee Gun is His Majesty the King, the ruler of the land and doesn't abandon his responsibilities or throne: he is in fact fulfilling all of his responsibilities both as the father of the country and the care taker of his family as a husband to Myeong Yoon and father to his children.

next would be how choi Sang rok and the queen dowager were forgiven. They were not. they paid for the sins they committed in the name of protecting their love. Sang Rok dies at the hands of the people he had gathered to lead the rebellion and doesn't get to experience the apparent happiness he would have had he been able to witness the fruit of his forbidden love, his unborn child. Also ironically, he hurt the daughter he tried to protect most in his attempt to safeguard his romantic rendezvous and ends up as the source of all of Myeong Yoon's miseries and the object of her hate. It was very humane of Myeong Yoon when she meet the dethroned Queen Dowager and said that it would take time for her to forgive her father and the Dowager. Lee Gun on the other hand, i dare say, executed his revenge on Sang Rok when he died begging to pardon the Queen Dowager at his feet and affirmed to all the crimes he had committed (we find Lee Gun not moving an inch when Sang Rok was pleading at his feet as he looked on with contempt. Had Sang Rok not been already stabbed in his heart, I'm sure Lee Gun would have beheaded him himself). However, Gun agrees to spare to the Queen Dowager only because she was pregnant with a child. But then again she was rightly punished for her acts too, which Gun was aware of of course, the Queen Dowager saw the person she cherished the most and for whom she committed so many misdeeds, die right in front of her eyes. Lee Gun's contempt for her was probably eased when she witnessed her lover breathing his last (Gun had said he would pay back the pain he and his family endured just the same, nothing more and nothing less.) Moreover, the queen Dowager died after giving birth and presumably without getting to love sufficiently the child/fruit of her love of years. The justice was rightly served.
(here i would take a detour and assume that Lee Gun ends up adopting the child of Soo Ryun and Sang Rok- hence in the last scene we find him with 2 kids- the younger one being his own and thus the former king showering the baby with love)

the whole series served just right in every aspect. the series was intriguing, fast paced, and kept the viewer hooked and contemplating what would come next. (binge watching as i did, i kept having dreams of what would happen next as i took mini breaks in between. i swear if my eyes had a mouth they would curse me with every profanity known to the world.)
i would add why i couldn't give a 10 to show. first, it was because they made Suho cry (even if it was just acting); second, being the witty and smart person Lee Gun was he didn't realise that Beak Goo as he named Myeong Yoon was actually Sang Rok's daughter a little faster. third, nowhere in the series did anyone tell or made Song Rok and Soo Ryun realise that their love was not wrong but what they did in the name of love was unforgiveable. However i would make a strong recommendation of this series for what it truly is, a masterpiece. from the actors to the plot twists that were provided and the osts that the drama literally gifts us, is elite. A MUST WATCH- when i say this is something that should NOT be missed, it actually should not be missed. i'm really surprised at the number of MDL watchers; i mean people be radical not everything that is not your typical romantic comedy is unworthy.

NOT ALL BAD IS ALWAYS EVIL

what i learnt from this is that one needs to deal with people in the exact same way like the person they are. growing up i have been taught to treat people the way they treat others, and i abide by this word by word. no bad person can be taught good and fairness by being good and patient with them- and hence they need of people like Jin Jung. and people like Hyeon Kyu who think they rule the world, must be brought flat down on their face and be taught good lesson and get a taste of their own medicine.

*PLOT & CHARACTERS*
the story is one the finest blend of action, comedy, and drama i have come across. it absolutely didnt miss anything at all. there was no such thing as "boring" in it. as the story unfolds, the pace, the acting, the OSTs, and even the supporting roles were so thrilling, funny and satisfying. there were no plotholes to be honest, every queries, every mystery and every confusion (if any) was solved throughout the series. and yes the 12 episodes did absolute justice to the show. i don't thing it can be anymore perfect than what it already is; it made me laugh, it made me sad, it made me want to become a prosecutor- even the scenes with Coco/Snowball were so amazing.
PS. the comic timing of the series, apart from anything else, was at its peak. i re-winded many such scenes as i couldn't laugh enough with watching them just once.
PSS. Jin Jung's sword is symbolic. (i want it though i don't know how to use it)
Jin Jung (i have a crush on this character, not because it was played Do Kyung Soo but because the character is exactly what i'm like- i want to become, at least to some extent), is the most realistic character i have come across in a series for a while now. he isn't righteous at all, he's just makes things work the way he sees them or think is right. "if i see something wrong and i feel it's wrong, i'm going to correct it, in my way and not in the high way"~ this is the type of person Jin Jung is. the most admirable part of him is that he doesn't give up halfway, instead he goes all the way to the end no matter what the result may be, he's unpredictable on top of everything and that makes him so much more hot. lastly, Jung is a kind of person what everyone needs to learn from, a type of worker that every organisation should have.
(i could write a book on him, but im out of time)
the character of Shin Ah Ra is as amazing too. her understanding and standing up and supporting Jung was good. her preservability, sense of responsibility, listening to others opinions and ideas and being a considering character as a senior at work and even as a person is very commendable.
the supporting characters of Oh Do Hwan, Beak Eun Ji, Go Joong Do, Park Jae Kyung and Lee Chul Ki were so lovable and adorable. besides being comic and funny, they were serious, hard working, persistent, and praiseworthy at the same time.

*THE ACTORS*
Do Kyung Soo is just love, period. <3 Le See Hee was a girl crush through and through. and both the actors have such good team work, i was kept hooked to them from the start till the end. Kim Sang Ho was the legend as he always is and i really look forward to See Hee's projects in future. talking about OSTs, they were just *muaah*s all over; be D.O.'s angelic voice singing an intimidating tune or my favorite SUHO's "Call Me Freak" that freaked me in and out and made me sway and want to fight.

BAD PROSECUTOR is realistic and a must watch, for its story, cast, acting, chemistry, team work, thriller, crimes and justice.

PS. I'M SWAYING AND CLINGING MY OWN WOODEN SWORD!!!! Thank You.
