Worth it for episodes 3-4, 9-10, and 13-14
An anthology of ups and downs.Episodes 1-2, Tue&Ake – 4 stars, cringe
Episodes 3-4, Sun&Nuea – 8 stars, super cute
Episodes 5-6, Team&Mon – 4 stars, feel really sorry for Mon, there wasn’t much chemistry between the pair so I didn’t buy into Team really loving Mon.
Episodes 7-8, Thurs&Pae/Pao – 6 stars, it was okay.
Episodes 9-10, Puth&Kaeng – 10 stars, they need their own series like now.
Episodes 11-12, Choke&Sat – 1 star, I can’t even tell you how bad this was, you just need to experience the horror.
Episodes 13-14, Masuk&Jia&Tir – 10 stars automatically because I cried twice, like full on sobbing lol. Definitely had it’s flaws though like I wish the fire scenes were more realistic, but Perth did a great job with the story he was given. Also, in the final ep Tir was so creepy watching Masuk and Jia it was hilarious.
Final ep - nice addition but nothing special overall.
It's such a shame that the storylines were not very well written as all of the actors did such a good job with what they were given.
I found it strange that the friendships weren’t explored more deeply throughout the series, by the end, I had no idea who was friends with who to be honest.
I'll definitely be rewatching episodes 3-4, 9-10, and 13-14 but I'll be avoiding the others like the plague.

So much potential, blandly executed
I really enjoyed Just You, the Taiwanese drama this series is based on but unfortunately Be Loved in House: I Do just fell short of my expectations. All the elements were there, an amazing cast, interesting story and great set but the overall feel of the drama was off.The side couple Zhao Gang and Si Qi for instance, got way more screen time than I was expecting. They were super cute, I'd admit, but their relationship was way advanced compared to Yu Zhen and Shi Lei that it made the main couples pacing seem way to slow. Moreover, maybe a bit nit-picky but, Zhao Gangs' café was always empty, and so the scenes filmed there felt awkward and unrealistic, at least to me.
Overall I liked Yu Zhen and Shi Lei's relationship, their chemistry was really good. But, the development between the pair just became tedious to watch, especially because we didn't really get to see them happy together (domesticated lol), I would have loved to see more of that towards the end. Individually though I think they are great characters that were portrayed well, the problems I have are with those directing rather than the actors themselves. Yu Zhen was a perfect blend of stubborn and soft, I loved his story and it was so nice to see Aaron embrace acting again. Shi Lei was super cute, and I loved that he was also able to be strong and lets face it, a bit cunning when he needed to be! Also, I loved Shi Lei's relationship with his mum and how accepting she is of him, and Yu Zhen was so adorably accommodating to her when she stayed with them.
Honestly, I would have liked to see more of Xiao Qian and Jing's relationship, because they added so much to the plot, I'm not a fan of BL's glazing over the straight couples interactions but hey, it is what it is!
I don't think Yu Zhen's ex really added much to the story, this is where the plot differs from Just You if I remember correctly and there are definitely other ways the main couples relationship could have developed. Saying that, it was the only surprising part of the story, so I appreciate it for this aspect at least.
I also didn't like the overuse of the theme tune, it got a little tiring after a while.
I'd say, go into this one not expecting much and then you'll be pleasantly surprised because even though the pacing is slow, both couples (Yu Zhen and Shi Lei and Zhao Gang and Si Qi that is) have amazing chemistry and there are some interesting twists and turns along the way!

Better than expected but still not great
My doubts going into this series rested on Gun, I was interested to know whether he could pull this off, but overall, doubtful he could. Saying that though, the premise is great and Boat seemed like a promising actor from what I saw in the trailer (and lets be honest he's also super cute lol) and so I thought I'd give watching this a shot! After finishing, overall, I'm happy with this series but as always a little disappointed with Gun's performance. So, let's talk about the plot first, to be honest, I haven't seen many mafia related dramas but the execution of this was decent enough. Gun did a good job at playing Sky, the mafia' boss' spoilt only son and the rarity of his blood added a twist that was predictably bland, but on my part, unseen in a drama like this. Sky's dad was an interesting yet frustrating character, it was a little predictable to have him as the obstacle to Sky and Sun's relationship at the end but without which the story would have gone no where. I was left with so many questions about the plot overall though that I couldn't rate the story very highly. Like, how did Sun's existence evade Sky for so long? Did Sun ever go to school and how did Sky's dad get him into university? What's the beef between Sky's dad and Sakkhee anyway, it can't all be about the drugs, right? Who killed Sky's mother? I could go on forever.
Gun's execution of Sky was good, but, to be honest, he's an awkward actor, he does frustration and comedy well, but he clearly has a hard time portraying heartbreak. I definitely bought into Sun and Sky's relationship, they had chemistry, but there were times when there needed to be tears and there was a lack of them on Gun's part. Boat however, who plays Sky, was so so good, I was very surprised because I haven't previously heard of him or any of his other work. He portrayed the obedient bodyguard, denying himself of emotions very well! Boat had a couple of fight scenes that seemed awkward, but they made me laugh so that ended up being a plus. Also, I feel like he carried the intimacy with Gun at times, and so I have to give him credit where its due. My favourite character was Bank, he's super funny, adorable and the best friend! I only wish he got more screen time with Pitch, who he was paired with, especially because we didn't even get to see a confession scene from them! The fight scene where Pitch and Bank help Sun rescue Sky was hilarious, Pitch swinging his sticks around and Banks attempt at Kung fu, or Taekwondo, (or honestly what was that??) will stick in my mind forever. I didn't like Toktang or Juno much, I don't think they added a lot to the story and at times they were annoying (especially Juno clinging onto Sun, ew girl move along), but I kind of wish we got to see them find love, just to add a little bit to their characterisation.
If you've yet to watch this series, go in not reading to much into the plot and don't expect much of Gun, because it is worth a watch, the story is fun and interesting at times and the characters, especially Sun and Bank are super cute!

An angst filled but satisfying teen boys love drama
I'm a little undecided about this drama. On the one hand, I think that Light on Me is great for everyone to watch, either as an introductory taste to boys love or just as a gripping love story but I can't help feeling unfulfilled with the story overall. Now, don't get me wrong, I felt satisfied with where all the characters left off but I wanted more happy scenes and less of the angst, although maybe this was to be expected considering this is a drama targeted at teens, and the formula follows the classic Kdrama style (16 eps, intense drama, couple getting together right at the end, lacklustre kiss) And so, you see where my problems lie.The story overall was great, the love triangle dynamic between Da On, Shin Woo and Tae Kyung was interesting as the characters had depth that is not all to common in boys love dramas. Saying that, I just felt like the story dragged in places, especially between Da On and Tae Kyung, I might be biased because I've been team Shin Woo from the beginning, but, I felt like especially in the last few episodes we could have had more Shin Woo scenes, because without this it made Tae Kyung's end decision seem rushed. The other characters were great, especially Nam Goong, I loved how wise he was and protective of his friends, he also added the majority of the comedy which helped the drama feel less stuffy. So Hee wasn't very likable, but I think she was an interesting 'villain' character, because at some points I did really feel sorry for her. I liked that the characters gained some personal growth by the end of the drama, Da On seemed to really grow into himself, So Hee was a better friend but, Nam Goong was, well, Nam Goong.
Honestly, all I can hope for is another series, or a special episode, because I was definitely left wanting more. I have to give credit where its due because the actors did a perfect job of portraying the characters, and the production quality was really high but saying that, I can't see myself rewatching this series anytime soon because it was a bit to slow and angst filled for me.

I Told Sunset About You Part 2

Fulfilled Promises
I was hesitant to start watching I Promised You the Moon because I Told Sunset About You made such a good impression on me and others. However, I started watching along with everyone else when the series was airing, and ended up abandoning it at episode two, because I just couldn't handle seeing Oh-aew broken again. After watching, my intuition was definitely right, but both Tae and Oh-aew had to grow up (let's not forget they were teenager when they first got together and so are obviously going to make mistakes) before they realised exactly what they meant to each other. The pacing of this drama was definitely similar to I Told Sunset About You, but the awkward pining that dominated the first series was replaced with Tae being an all round dumbass (now that I think about it, very similar to the first series). It's definitely different to the first series though, there's a different flavour of despair and less hopefulness for the future of both main characters. Honestly, this isn't a series you can watch again and again because of the subject matter being more raw compared to other BL dramas but I love that both instalments are different from the cliché led BL industry, if you want something honest and real then this perfect.
The acting was amazing, especially the actors who play Tae and Oh-aew, they're honestly the best actors I've ever watched and were able to portray the couples conflicting emotions towards one another perfectly. I thought that the cast switch ups were essential and overall good. I especially liked Jai's character, I know, he's the villain, but the evil mind-f*cking director angle really held an impression with me as it's something I haven't seen before. I also loved Oh-aew's friend group, without them I think this series would have been ten times more depressing than it already was. I also really loved seeing Bas at the end of the last episode and it definitely helped that he looked so damn adorable.
Overall, definitely a series that I will watch again, I honestly think that this production overall is a masterpiece but I'll have to wait a while, just to prepare myself for all the heartbreak.

Painfully Average
I read a lot of reviews saying this series was underrated and I can see where they are coming from BUT there are a number of qualms I have overall.Things that were odd -
- Jin treating Bbomb like a doormat and Bbomb being controlling, his lack of trust in Jin dominated the majority of the series and honestly I'm unsure why Jin ends up falling for him. Probably because Bbomb will do anything for him at the drop of a hat. I think Jin's most used phrases were "I'm hungry, come pick me up" and "I'm drunk, come pick me up" the amount of times he answered the phone like this, without even a hello was almost hilarious.
- Undeveloped side characters. I would have loved to know more about Aim, Kooper, Song, Jay, Keam and Ball! Maybe they will be explored in another drama but I have minimal interest in watching another series because the storyline centred around the main couple to much.
- Both the main couples friendship groups, honestly I liked the individual characters but they would have the most bizarre ideas while together like spiking drinks. Always a big no no.
- Typical University setting where one character fell for the other long before they knew each other. Please let this storyline die, I beg.
Things I like -
- Jin is such a social butterfly, I loved it! But it was also his downfall.
- Pace of the drama was good
- Some of the characters were super cute like Ball. Also, Bbomb's friends who were in a band together were super cool on stage which is why I've scored the music in this drama pretty high.
- The acting overall was really good but the actors playing Jin and Bbomb could have upped the intimacy a bit, by that I mean hand holding, eye contact etc. Like, Bbomb stayed in Jin's room every night but apart from a few awkward hugs there was no intimacy. Maybe this is the directors fault rather the actors but it made me think that the main characters weren't into each other all that much.
Overall an okay series to pass the time but there is a lot of dramas out there that are similar and a lot better in my opinion!

Just watch it
I don't feel like writing a full review so I'm just going to jot down a few of my thoughts.- I'm so dumb for not watching this sooner, I put it off because I knew that the BL couple does not have a happy ending, but, this series was so much more than what I was expecting. I love love loved it!
- All the characters were perfect and perfectly executed, including the ones that I hated.
- Ying is gorgeous, I have a massive girl crush on her now.
- I was super terrified through half of the series, it's funny how many times I jumped, but again, in a good way! (one of the reasons why I noted the rewatch value as a 9 because I can't go through all that again straight away lol)
- All the scenery was super beautiful.
- All the music was perfectly suited to each scene.
- Such a fun mystery that left me super confused even past the ending.
- I'm pretty such that PP (from I Told Sunset About You) was in the final scene of the series and I am still recovering from the prospect of him being a main character in the next series, please please please?? I would love that.
- Only down side is that there may not be another series?? This was released at the end of 2019 so there may have been some issues filming because of COVID - I'm hoping its just postponed rather than cancelled because I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!
I'm not one for rating every series super high (check my list, I think I've only rated 4-5 other shows a 10) so watch it if you haven't already! You won't regret it :)

Gameboys: The Movie

On par with the series but for different reasons!
This movie moved away from the experimental filming style of the Gameboys series but the quality remained. In this instalment we see more of Gav and Cairo and their struggles as a couple, and also an update from the usual characters such as Pearl, Terrance, Wesley and the briefly introduced Achilles.I loved that the style of filming now allowed us to see a more organic, less showy version of Gav and Cairo's relationship. The plot this time focused more on Gav and his struggles, which I loved! He was so positive in the series that I wondered when we would get more honesty from him, about his life outside his relationship with Cairo, and we got it, it was so nice, but often heart-breaking to see. There was a genuine progression to Gav and Cairo's relationship too, no rushing, and the actors did a good job of relaying this. There was still lots of crying, so expect that, but it felt natural.
My main issues with this instalment lay with Terrence, Wesley wasn't so bad but Terrence was a bit annoying to be honest. His character just seemed so fake, with all the apologising, I'm not sure if this was the actors fault or if Terrence was meant to be kind of flaky? But either way, it made his relationship with Wesley seem ingenuine. I did like their story overall though, and some of their moments were cute, so I hope I can better understand Terrence's character in the future, maybe in Game Boys 2, which I am interested in and hoping to watch!

Something different!
I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable this was, considering the experimental filming style and difficult themes it took a while for me to actually give this series a watch. However, once I did, I didn't regret it at all, the characters felt very real, dealing with current real life problems, and as a result I couldn't help feeling attached to them and also be rooting for the main couple to end up together! This series is filmed through social media interactions, so there is a lot of calls and social media posts updating on the characters interactions. There are a couple of situations where the characters meet in real life but these parts are expressed with either video footage taken by the characters themselves or 'drone like' recordings so I'd say it's a very interesting style, definitely something I haven't come across before.
The story follows the main characters as they are in a lockdown, because of COVID-19. and highlights many issues that hit close to home for a lot of us I'm sure such as loss, social distancing, isolation etc. Because of this realism I thought that it would be difficult for the plot to not become messy but the story was very cohesive and interesting. The actors did a great job at expressing the characters emotions, considering the difficult themes, I'd say the acting was really good overall. However, there is a lot of crying in this series, not necessarily a negative, it's just INTENSE, but I think this is understandable considering everything they are going through. The only other criticism I have really is that there is a massive overuse of the word "baby". As cute as the main couple are, I really got tired of them calling each other this by around the 20th time.
The side characters are also nice, and are good aids to highlight how difficult being in a long distance relationship can be when other people get to involved. I really liked Pearl, her voice is something you've got to get used to, as she's loud and very enthusiastic about the main couples relationship, but she's very supportive and brought a bit of fun to the otherwise depressing themes. The other characters, Terrence and Wes, I didn't care much for, but they ended up being 'villains' that I felt a little sorry for and were necessary for the story to progress.
I'll definitely be checking out the other releases that involve these characters, I'm a little invested in all of them now and can't wait to see what happens to Cairo and Gav!
