Entertaining and Heartwarming
I've seen some other reviews, mostly bad ones, but proceeded to watch the show anyways..This drama is really good! It's amazing! The thrill comes from the story itself rather than music and sound effects. Judging from the drama alone (since I didn't read the book which the drama is based on) each case is different, very entertaining, a lot of sad motives to the case yet there was no psychopath killer. I really like the calmness of the drama and it's up to the audience to feel or interpret the scenes.
It may look like Sherlock Holmes at the beginning but to anyone who wanted to watch this drama, I guarantee that this is original and it's not a copy of any famous work. Not sure if there would be a part 2 of this but maybe I could read the book for more of the cases. The only thing that I think was lacking (but not a flaw) to this drama is that I wish they show more about Hisame. I really do think that Hisame is just as good as Tori but it will all be explained at the end.

Interesting movie but something is unexplained
I had zero expectations before I watch the movie so I enjoyed it up until the last bit scene before the ending and the ending. The movie perfectly captures the horror theme associating with an urban legend that haunts the island. I got really hooked while watching as the movie had a clear, smooth, logical flow of the story, had a normal pace and scares you time to time. Though I wish they would show more about the main character (Tomohiko) as it feels like there's something the audience didn't know much about him.
In the ending however, it's quite confusing and I understand the director wanted to make an open ending for the audiences to think or wanted to make a part 2 of the movie but in this types of films, I really expected a straightforward ending that satisfies the audience (but maybe that's just me idk) it feels like all the efforts that Tomohiko did is useless considering how the movie ends. The little bit of romance at the ending is rather shocking as I thought Tomohiko and Tamaki would just remain friends and no other feelings involved are present.
Also, Shigeru destroying the computers to save Imajo + killing hilmself after just didn't make sense. I understand the suicide part as everyone hates him except Rin but he didn't need to care about the VR research team.

The message of the film is heartwarming
Maybe because I really relate to Makoto but the story flows perfectly too, I felt all the emotions that Makoto felt and learned so much lessons from the film. It hits deep in me because I am exactly like Makoto before, though I overcome some bits of it as I grew older. The concept of the soul called "Blank" seems to be quite confusing to me since the story never shows how the life of the soul that was assigned to Makoto looks like. It's a really interesting perspective to the viewers on how a completely different person (in this case, the new soul) would judge Makoto's life and understand his life objectively. Only thing that confuses me is the ending that says "Makoto is me" and how the Guardian would say that "decades later, you will be reincarnated as Makoto". This suggested that there would be elements of time travel in the story? And that the new soul is actually Makoto himself, just in the state where he had his confidence before?
I really wish they showed more scenes of Makoto and Akira as I believe they had a deeper relationship and less scenes of Mitsuki though I completely understand how Mitsuki would later be one of many to contribute to Makoto's death since everything is shown in Makoto's perspective.
Really happy to know about this movie that I could relate so much although I watched it late. Kento Nagao has so much potential, hope to see him in more movies and shows.

The story have a lot of inconsistencies but it is overall good
The story is simple, there is a good message that I can learn from and the format is similar like other web drama but there is a lot of gap that was not addressed in the drama. The female lead's backstory could turn into a horror or thriller. I expected it was about someone who still looks 20 yet everyone she knew still knew her and kept in touch but it's only the society who treats her differently but that was not the case. It made so much sense as I relate to the story with the title. The gap is about the scene where her parents also forget her on new years. There are many possibilities that this would not make the female lead the way she is. She would suffer greatly of having no house at the first restart on being 20 again. Another gap is when she still had the mindset of an average middle aged woman even after living as a 20 year old that forces her to keep on finding work and keep up with society. The curse that was put on her would lead her to focus more on fixing her life and finances rather than finding love.
I rated this quite high because I tried eliminating the possible storylines of the female lead. I also think that if she found a way to have a permanent source of income like a business that doesn't restart at New years, she could enroll in a college with different degrees.
Anyways, moving on to the male lead. The male lead isn't bad to anyone like the ones portrayed in other dramas. His personality is surprisingly soft and the storytelling on how he quite have a bit of a bad attitude is well written. There is a clear process on how the drama shows his trust for the female lead + character development. The drama perfectly suits as a romcom when it is the point of view of the male lead since he was the one experiencing this for the first time, the realizations and development in his life.
In case of the female lead, there should be no male lead if this were to be in her point of view, the genre would be a horror lol
Great acting on part of Yuju and Subin!!

Alternate Point of View Story
[Quite late to write this review] I finished watching the drama in a rush after Mr. Ou is highly suspecting Muqing to be the mole in Group K. Not saying that the plot got bad after that episode but I was always on edge of the seat when watching it lol.So, I think of a realistic alternative plot for this drama, and of course, it was kinda boring but it was reassuring since the ending is very confusing.
(Don't take this seriously, this is just an opinion since the ending is not satisfying)
If the deaths are realistic and Li Ruosheng is the main lead / the point of view of this story with character development, it would turn out in a very satisfying ending or probably ok ending (without taking anyone's side). Li Ruosheng has a very sad background, both his parents died and no one was truly close to him until he met Muqing. He said from the beginning that he had no choice but to work in this field related to drugs. Rong Yu definitely did not survive the explosion but it is very wrong for Rong Yao to vent all his anger on Liu Yuanwen at this time when he went undercover. After multiple incidents, realistically, Muqing will be killed by Mr. Ou in that specific warehouse, and Li Ruosheng will be taking a break from all business activities from this point / might be taking a step back from his current position that Muqing built. After 2-3 months, Group K realizes that problems within their organization completely disappeared. Cong Tou will not work with Li Ruosheng because their positions in the group are different. It all went back from the beginning for Li Ruosheng, all alone even with many hitmen that would obey his order but no one was really on his side, so he escaped quietly from Group K and would probably be working somewhere else or accepting his fate (confessing to the police). In my opinion, he won't bother to recheck Muqing's real identity as it would be too much for him although deep inside he probably knew but wouldn't accept it as there is no physical evidence... since Muqing died when they were really close. As stated in the ending "I'm not afraid of dying or getting arrested but all these lies for 3 years"
