a charming male lead and romantic moments, but a frustrating female lead and predictable plot
"Love in Time" is the definition of an average drama, hitting both sweet spots and sour notes along the way. As a seasoned binge-watcher, I found it had its charming moments, but it also came with its fair share of frustrations.
The show kicks off strong, with a sweet reunion between childhood friends who eventually fall in love. The male lead (ML) is a real gem – kind, supportive, and charming. His chemistry with the female lead (FL) brings plenty of heartwarming scenes, especially when they're being all romantic and cute together.
But then there's the FL. She often comes off as self-centered and kind of annoying, which makes it hard to really root for the couple. Her behavior towards the ML can be pretty frustrating, which takes away from the overall romance of the show.
The plot itself is pretty standard fare. Childhood friends reuniting? Check. FL needing to marry to inherit her dad’s business? Check. It’s a trope we’ve seen a million times, and it doesn’t really offer any fresh twists. Plus, the second half of the series starts to drag with unnecessary drama from secondary characters trying to sabotage the main couple. It just feels like filler.
On the plus side, the pacing is decent, and there’s always something happening to keep you engaged. But the lack of background music and sound effects in key scenes can make things feel a bit off and awkward.
All in all, "Love in Time" is okay. The ML is great, and the romantic moments are sweet, but the repetitive plot and annoying FL make it just an average watch. If you’re a seasoned drama fan, you’ll find it enjoyable enough, but it’s not something that’ll stand out in the sea of romantic dramas out there.
