Sizzling chemistry between James Wen and Sonia Sui

This drama would have been a flop if not for the solid acting of James Wen, Sonia Sui and the veteran actors/actresses who played as their folks. The realistic slow burn romance between James’ ne’er do well character Jiang Chen Bo and Sonia’s combative character Chen Guo Fen adds a comic and light touch to the excesses of Weber Yang and Amber Kuo’s tragic soap story. The character of Jiang Chen Bo is atypical of a male lead in dramaland. He is neither rich, smart, successful, driven, tall or charismatic. Perhaps, this was why the director/screen writers chose the cheap move of directing attention to Weber Yang’s lack lustre character instead of expanding on the character of Jiang Chen Bo (as they should have done!).
