This is called 'The Fake Tootsie'. Aw! They could cast Pingpong Thongchai (from 'Diary Of Tootsies') in the Ken role! Pitty.

The plot is ostentatiously crazy. In the financially desperate situation, Mai Davika Hoorne's jobless character whose house is about to get seized by creditors sees the only salvation in winning the huge prize money drag beauty pageant. First her new friend is supposed to enter the competition, but after discovering he's got too much facial hair, they convince her to enter. As she is proper girly girl, the goal is to put as much of crazy accessories and super heavy makeup on her to make her look so artificial people would even believe she was converted from a dude.

Despite the huge number of episodes, luckilly this isn't a 'Channel 7', so we don't spend ages waiting for some action. Right in episode 2, we get to see the competition including the performances. The main girl portrayed by Mai Davika does a sexy-pose dance number seemingly without any effort (even if she doesn't win the prize money, she doesn't need to stay jobless, obviously she can apply at nearest strip club). If after shooting this series the actress ended up with a new boyfriend, it's no wonder. EVERYBODY shall notice here that she's hot.

It's all very good but then the plot which is supposed to run for the next like twenty so episodes begins, with inexplicable premise that someone who won a drag night should be hired to act in a romantic drama. So, the winner happily collects the prize money, but then is bonded by the contract to shoot a whole drama series. Of course the lack of acting experience is a problem since the first day, so it halts the whole production (where every day costs money). So I wondered what kind of "smart "idea such contract was.

With that, majority of the screentime gets filled with the characters rehearsing and shooting fictional drama scenes. With that, my entertainment level rather dropped. It looked like that after the funny intro, this would be a very looong series... I felt like still watching a movie even after it ended. Like there was some kind of boring footage left with the same characters after everything ended. And it was like that in 4th, 5th, 6th episode... out of 27 (yeah, the version I was watching had 27 total). Yeah, suddenly we were watching "drama" about someone discovering a sanitary pad in someone else's bag. Should Davika dance once more? Else I don't know what could save this thing. Like, TWENTY ONE more episodes?

I think I'll watch the 2nd episode ending again and then quickly get out of this.
