I'm an ABC - American-born Chinese.

I watch mostly Mandarin dramas, but also sometimes Japanese and Korean. I love romantic plots, fantasy, and wuxia elements. I dislike horror/suspense/gore and anything that takes place in the 20s.

I have a thing for powerful characters who let themselves be underestimated, and antihero male leads. I enjoy puns. I don't mind stories that are campy/silly. But I absolutely detest stories where the plot randomly takes sharp-lefts because the author couldn't figure out what's next.

Sometimes, I will even read the original story in Chinese, and sometimes it's better. (Sometimes, it's definitely NOT.)

I grew up on the 90s shows: Legend of the White Snake, Journey to the West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms and so forth.

In the aught's, I helped translate mainly Taiwanese dramas for fansub groups. This was before Viki (Viikii) was really a thing.
