Although I am still fairly new to K-Dramas, I just adore Ji Chang Wook. (Side note, I've definitely slowed down my speed of watching these shows, [blame anime and moving] I had to take about 2 months off of this show before I finished watching the last two episodes, so that is a factor in this review.) I just find him to be one of the most handsome/beautiful people I've ever laid eyes on, so that was a big factor in this for me.
I find the premise of the show to be VERY interesting, and a really good idea. I also loved the fact that we got to see the 90s, earlier versions of them, along with them interacting with their friends and family then. It makes the impact of their time being frozen much more impactful, and you can truly feel how they feel what they're going through.
Now other than the premise, there were some things about this show, plot wise, that I didn't like and I think could have been done a lot more smoother/less frustrating. Some things were unexplained, or rushed through, and also left unanswered, which through the story are sometimes glaring.
Also, because I pointed out how some scenes were very emotional/impactful, I can tell the show was also trying to balance it out with humor/over acting from some side characters, which I didn't like and I feel didn't do a good job, and could be left out entirely. Instead of balancing the drama out, it pulls you out of the story and cheapens some moments.
Overall, the acting from the main characters were done phenomenally, and I enjoyed their screen time. I wish the romance was a bit more of a slow burn//steamy, but there's a specific one scene that includes a shower that I think I'm going to remember forever <3
In conclusion, if you're a fan of Ji Chang Wook, I would recommend this, but don't expect this to become an all time favorite and take the show with a grain of salt/lowered expectations. I became a fan of Won Jin Ah and Choi Bo Min from this, and I'm glad I completed it.
