So this drama was highly anticipated for it's cast and genre, but after a couple episodes aired, there were many criticism. I just found the time to finish it this month (kind of late) so I'll be breaking this drama down with acting and story mostly.
Acting:
The main reason why I strayed away from touching this drama was a clip of GHS's acting with her annoying tone she portrayed as YRT/CY and AJH's stutters/mumbles as PJS. My first thought before touching that video was, "hey, it couldn't be that bad...everyone seems to drop this drama at episode 3...cant be that bad, right?" well it was and I didn't even last the entire video. Eventually, I decided to give this drama a try and I recommend just bearing through the drama by ignoring GHS's voice. Just think that maybe after her character learns to be civilized, it'll get better. I understand that she was trying to execute a new acting style, but from episode 1-5, it was too much. As for AJH, it was a surprise after hearing that he would be taking on a lead role after being given minor/supporting roles. He did well in my opinion, but I do agree that he did mumble even though I don't fully speak korean. Overall, the acting was alright, though it could of been better. I did notice that he had body language issues. Most of his scenes where they showed him standing and conversing with people, he stood stiff without moving much. It was kind of boring to watch.
Story:
The story started out exciting with having the child actor as PJS explain what he is and how he felt as someone infected. I knew that the back story will be brought into episode 2+ which was why i decided to stay. If not, I would of dropped it as soon as episode 1 ended. The story was great with the medical sides in between, but after they finished with the medical stuff, I noticed that the majority of scenes were the characters talking and explaining with lots of complicated dialogue. At times, it got so boring I didn't even know what they were discussing. Even the "vampire" transformations was cut down which made the action scenes look petty (explanation will be scene during episode 20) Also, I just wished that they had more freedom on set. All we saw were houses, hallways, hospital rooms and more hallways. Low budget? Don't even get me started on the romance. How did it even start? Wasn't it too rushed when he revealed his most kept secret? Oh man don't even get me started about the ending too.
Positive:
Personally, I hated the ending because of certain cliches, but I feel that what had happened was right. What I liked about this drama was how they showed the importance of cherishing the present and not taking it for granted or changing the life span of a human... basically saying nothing will last forever. I was glad that at some scenes, the other actors/actresses were able to make me cry. Not that I enjoy crying, but if a really heart wrenching scene is able to make me cry, it means they had done well. One thing I can say 100% certainty is that I loved the ost. Tiffany's song is by far my favorite still.
Ending:
Before I told my friends to not watch because of how the acting was and the critics, but now I tell them to just tolerate and ignore the acting until it gets good.
