Unable to feel pain within his own body but skilled at diagnosing others, an anesthesiologist doctor John (Ji Sung) consistently faces challenges of his philosophy on life and death. People see he saves a lot of patients, but they also think he may causes others their deaths. So if the patient wants death, should the wish be granted?

The intriguing and interesting story make Dr. John a really good binge-watch. Debates around euthanasia topic are thought-provoking. A lot of good characters, well-acted, complemented with very suitable and calming OSTs. The patient stories, along with the leads’ overarching plot and backstories inspire us to never give up to life challenges. I also enjoyed how the stake gets higher during patients operations, in critical life or death situations, and when they’re discussing mysterious symptoms, the doctors are like detectives, it’s exciting like watching a thriller.

What I less enjoyed was Shi Young's dramatic emotional breakdown. I understand it’s necessary for her development, but I’m growing less sympathetic towards her with the repetitive flashbacks. At times, her concern seems trivial compared to the patients’ emergency situations. I also didn't think the romance was a stand out, but it definitely didn't spoil the show. Watch it for the meaningful story and performances! I got chills from Ji Sung’s intensity when delivering his dialogues. Plus, he has shirtless scenes were so appealing (this is also why it’s worth your watch! hehe…)
