this movie is interesting, but feels way too drawn out for what it is. it's long and soooo incredibly slow. near the end of the movie i found myself repeatedly checking how much longer i had left. for the first 1h 40m of the movie all it did was make me want to hug shuhei and fuyuka and beat up their mom. when we FINALLY got to the interesting bits, it was kind of anti climactic. the most thrilling scene of the film lasted maybe 3 minutes or less. and i don't know why shuhei keeps defending his mom. i know he doesn't have much, but he seems to be fine taking care of himself a lot of the time, without her help. she's really done nothing good for him to make her deserve his mercy other than i guess be a mom
