1. Quartet
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
I adored this drama and how it manages to balance relatable slice of life with some beautiful life lessons along the way. The tone eases you in to a breezy and quirky story. I quickly fell in love with its deep characters and the heartfelt character arcs. This was perfection for me right now! (1/13)

2. Boku to Star no 99 Nichi
Japanese Drama - 2011, 10 episodes
I don’t have a lot of good to say about this drama, but I can’t say that I hated it either. I didn’t find anything remarkable here. This drama is very cliche. Considering this drama aired in 2011, it feels extremely dated. I think if you are looking for a Japanese drama that stars Korean actors, this may be worth watching. It’s certainly an easy watch. 3. Burning
Korean Movie - 2018
A thought provoking movie about hunger and how it can envelop you like a raging fire. Quite an interesting watch. (1/20)

4. The Handmaiden
Korean Movie - 2016
This film was absolutely stunning. I was blown away by the beautiful and intricate love story this film depicts. A truly gorgeous film with an intriguing plot full of unexpected twists. (1/21)

5. Shoplifters
Japanese Movie - 2018
I was completely blown away by this film. This may be my favorite Koreeda work thus far. From the script to the acting, this human drama just took my breath away. I was particularly struck by Ando Sakura’s performance as Shibata Nobuyo. Her interactions with Lin were absolutely breathtaking. (1/21)

6. Regatul
Korean Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
Though historical fantasy complete with zombies is not what I typically go for, I found that this drama has a great production value. I found this drama easy to binge and fun for the gross outs and the mayhem. Zombies are pretty funny to watch. Can’t wait to continue this. Hope Netflix doesn’t keep us waiting for too long. (1/25)

7. Nusumareta Kao: Miatari Sosahan
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
This was an interesting drama to watch with an intriguing premise. I’m a little underwhelmed by the finale since I thought they could have made it a lot more interesting … All and all an interesting drama. (2/9)

8. Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City
Japanese TV Show - 2015, 46 episodes
This was an interesting drama to watch with an intriguing premise. I’m a little underwhelmed by the finale since I thought they could have made it a lot more interesting … All and all an interesting drama. (2/18)

9. Suteneko ni Hirowareta Otoko

What a sweet drama special about cat ownership?! This was a fun and relaxing ride. Quite the easy watch. (2/25)

10. Terrace House: Aloha State
Japanese TV Show - 2016, 36 episodes
Whoa! This show was such a mess! This season was wild and surprisingly racy, and watching the train wreck ensue was extremely enjoyable. I have developed such an addiction to this television show. It is sooooo easy to watch and extremely entertaining. My only regret is not giving this show a chance before. (3/11)

11. Terrace House: Boys x Girls Next Door
Japanese TV Show - 2012, 98 episodes
I was initially tentitive about picking the first series of Terrace House up due to the fact that it is almost 100 episodes. Though the first couple seasons were difficult without the gregarious cast I’ve grown so used to in later seasons, I greatly enjoyed the members in their first season. This season has a surprising amount of heart. I am so relieved I ended up spending the time to complete this very special season of Terrace House. (3/30)

13. Hajimete Koi wo Shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
I started this drama since there was so much noise surrounding it. I should probably admit that I do have a slight weakness for dramas about women in their 30s, but I have a lot of issues with romances with younger men. There’s a pretty significant block for me. This proved to be no different. Cute, easy-going drama, but nothing that I haven’t seen before. This just wasn’t my type of drama. Better luck next time! (4/3)

14. Otto no Chinpo ga Hairanai
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
If you are looking for a mature, slice of life drama, this may be something that may interest you. This drama depicts a married couple that struggles to find sexual intimacy. Though this drama is far from perfect, it does address some interesting things about love, marriage and sex. (4/10)

15. Persona
Korean Drama - 2019, 4 episodes
This was an interesting watch where IU was cast as different characters in 4 different vignettes. Seeing her talent in this way was quite the experience. She is absolutely lovely. (4/11)

16. Naruto Hichou
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
The female portrayals here were stunning. This is certainly different from what I typically go for, but I found it quite enjoyable. (4/21)

17. Manhattan Love Story
Japanese Drama - 2003, 11 episodes
This drama took me a bit to get into but I have a feeling I will be watching it again quite soon. The way it parodies romance dramas is noteworthy. If you are looking for something different, I would recommend this one. (4/21)

18. Kill It
Korean Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Pretty run of the mill action drama. I was pretty underwhelmed and actually surprised that I managed to make it to the end. (4/28)

19. Watashi, Teiji de Kaerimasu
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
I shipped the leads here pretty strongly, but overall this drama really didn't have anything much to offer. It was cute though -- and easy watch. (6/26)

20. Chikaemon
Japanese Drama - 2016, 8 episodes
I loved this drama and how it creates a parody of the life of Monzaemon Chikamatsu. It is so funny to see how flawed and helpless this Monzaemon is portrayed throughout the drama. The timing and the absurdism are so witty and funny. What a great drama! Please send me more parodies! (7/14)

21. Kangoku no Ohimesama
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
Quite the quirky and cute drama. It was a nice time, but you should watch this if you are looking for some absurd. (7/16)

22. Terrace House: Opening New Doors
Japanese TV Show - 2017, 49 episodes
This may be my favorite season of Terrace House so far. Which is saying a lot, since I seem to love every season of Terrace House. I am absolutely in love with this formula. This was a great balance of great members to root for and juicy drama to keep me coming back for more. I am so happy they are back to filming in Japan. The members are so lovable in this season! I’m so happy my ship sailed! (8/20)

23. Ainori: Asian Journey

24. Ainori: Asian Journey Season 2
Japanese TV Show - 2018, 22 episodes
If you are looking for something a bit different, try this! This show was so entertaining. At first, I thought it would be much more like Terrace House, but I was so wrong. I can't say whether I like Ainori or Terrace House more. Honestly, they both have their great parts. It's actually surprisingly difficult to compare these shows. You should try them both and report back to me! aha! (9/8)
