Thai Regions
Compiling a list of titles from the four regions (Northern, Northeastern, Central and Southern) of Thailand for the Thai Drama Club (link) watch challenge (link). Including Bangkok as its own area to encourage us to look to the rest of central Thailand as well. Focus here is on titles where the location is integral to the story rather than, say, a campus setting which happens to be in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. I've been using this four region system list (link) as a guide but also noting Western and Eastern (per the six region system) where relevant.
(Also, several short series from MindTrio are set in the north and feature the landscape there.)
The official (and more complete) Thai Drama Club list in this (link). Will continue this one for my own personal record. My threshold for inclusion may be higher. Everything here (except a few PTW noted) has been seen and verified.

From Maryna (see her full comment on the Thai Drama Club regions list for more - "The place is Hala-Bala Wildlife Sanctuary, specifically the Bala forest in Waeng and Sukhirin districts in Narathiwat province, Malaysian border."

Southern (Krabi) "ethnofiction" not big on context, where it's often unclear what's real and what's fiction but Krabi is very integral to the movie.

Sparse art film, more experience than narrative. Set in Kanchanaburi, but the sparseness and black & white cinematography stripped it of a sense of place for me. I'm ambivalent about including it here. Central/Western (Kanchanaburi) Same director as Krabi which I sort of intuited somewhere along the line. I liked the experience of this one more.
