Ju Ji Hoon will reportedly return to the historical genre after five years!

On January 24, several media outlets reported that Ju Ji Hoon would join Lee Jong Suk and Shin Min Ah in the upcoming historical K-drama The Remarried Empress

Ju Ji Hoon's agency confirmed that the actor received the offer. According to them,  "Ju Ji Hoon got the offer to star in The Remarried Empress. He is currently reviewing it but nothing has been decided yet. 

This will possibly be Ju Ji Hoon's grand comeback to the historical genre after Kingdom Season 2, released in 2020. 

Before Ju Ji Hoon returns to historical K-dramas, the actor will first star in the Netflix original K-drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call which will premiere today. He will work alongside Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, Yoon Gyung Ho, Jeong Jae Kwang, and Kim Eui Sung in the new medical series. 

Ju Ji Hoon will also lead the upcoming crime thriller series Climax with Ha Ji Won, Oh Jung Se, Cha Joo Young, and After School's Nana.

The Remarried Empress will focus on the life of the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire named Navier. She decided to divorce her husband Sovieshu, the emperor of the Eastern Empire after finding out that he was cheating. She then looked for an opportunity to be an empress elsewhere and got married to Heinrey, the emperor of the Western Empire. The K-drama will base its story on the web novel of the same name by Alpha Tart. 

Ju Ji Hoon got the offer to portray the role of Sovieshu, the husband of Shin Min Ah's character Navier and the emperor of the Eastern Empire. 

Both Shin MIn Ah and Lee Jong Suk are also reviewing the offer to star in the new historical K-drama.

There is no official confirmation yet on the broadcast channel and airing date of The Remarried Empress.
